Optima Tax Relief LLC Reviews (1115)

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Waiting on resolution. They kind of hurt me by contacting the IRS on June 20th on a pay off and have a letter from IRS stating they accepted and expect me to pay 14k on Aug 19.  After Aug 19 when the IRS does not get their pay off I feel won't be good for me. I have hired a Tax attorney and waiting Optima to issue you me a refund to get this attorney started

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I emailed [redacted] from optima on Friday May 5th. Letting her know that I am currently out of the country and the only way I can communicate is by email for the most part. I haven't heard anything or no one has tried to get in contact with me since. I don't believe they are taking the matter too seriously or they probably don't care.

I do not agree with Optima's response. We've have had on going emails back and forth.  The statements, email, names & dates I have provided to Optima in all of my replies remain true. The documented evidence Optima speaks of in this response was never provided to me.  Optima received this letter addressed in c/o [redacted] from the IRS back in July 28, 2015 but I was never provided a copy until Mr. [redacted] sent me a copy on January 28, 2016.  The IRS letter only covers a settlement which included only 2010,2011,2013, & 2014.  There is still the matter of 2012.  Contrary to the statement made from Optima, on several occasions I provided Optima with my 2012 tax returns which contained a balance owed. Information and emails discussing my 2012 taxes where made with Optima on the following dates:
Email 1/29/15 – email sent informing your investigating
department & [redacted] of the uploaded documents and explanation into
the 2012 tax returns that were also uploaded.
Email 1/30/15 – Acknowledgement of documents received by [redacted]
Email 1/26/15 – Email from [redacted] in which it states that
Optima was going to prepare my 2012 & 2014 tax returns.
Email 4/2/15 – Email from [redacted] in which she
attaches my 2012 prepared tax returns. And guess what even those taxes that
[redacted] prepared showed I owed the IRS an estimated tax of $3244 and $355 to the
state. WOW!!!!! And to think you keep saying I didn’t owe anything. What an
it!
Email 4/3/15 -  An email I sent to [redacted]
informing here that I did not need my 2012 taxes prepared because I already had
them done. I once again included in this email my 2012 Tax returns forms 1040
that show I owed the IRS $3031.oo and form 540 showing I owed the State
$234.00.  So for Optima to make these statements to the Revdex.com is all false.  This same information I am providing here, I provided to Optima but they have been to lazy to research the dates, emails and names to who these emails where sent to.  So on February 4th, 2016, I forward copies of these same emails with all attachments to Mr. [redacted].  As for my not notifying Optima of the documents I received from the IRS demanding payment & enforcing action, this is also completely false as well. The following emails dates and names are the emails sent to Optima with attachments of the documents I was receiving from the IRS. Again, this same information was provide to MR. [redacted] as proof but as mentioned before he is to lazy to conduct any investigation or research into these dates or timeline I have provide. See below: Email 11/10/15 – email to [redacted] with attachments of all
the IRS notices I received.
Email 12/16/15 – sent the email from 11/10/15 because [redacted] couldn’t
find it along with an additional notice from the IRS I receivedAS I stated from the start, I do not want nothing more to do with Optima to resolve the current position Optima has but me in with the IRS.  I provided Optima with all the information from the start of my association with Optima.  As I have presented all of the proof and fact, Optima failed to do their part. They claim that I will not allow them to validate my claim but yet I have provided Optima with emails, dates, names to look up and yet have done nothing. I do not trust Optima's business ethics any longer, I want nothing to do with them anymore. All their statements have been false. Their answer to the current problem with the IRS is that I failed to make my payments.  For all of these reasons I have stated above, I DO NOT want their assistance any longer.  All I want is matter settled and my refund for $2000.00 that I requested from the start.

SUMMARY - Optima Tax's management has been in...

contact with the client prior to receiving the complaint in an effort to come to an amicable resolve.   RESPONSE - Optima Tax’s management has reached out to the client prior to receiving the complaint and had already addressed these concerns. As the client stated, Optima Tax did offer a courtesy refund to which they were grateful, so we are unsure as to why the complaint was filed.     After thoroughly reviewing the client’s case notes, communication falls directly in line with the flow of the case. The client provided Optima Tax with all requested documents; Optima Tax then reviewed the documents and strategized to resolve the case as a whole. After implementing various strategies to resolve the client’s outstanding liability, on February 24, 2016, Optima Tax finalized their case by establishing an affordable monthly payment plan of $175.00. The client was instructed to make payments directly to the IRS while the direct debit authorization was processed by the IRS. The client was further notified that this process could take up to 90 days to complete and that it was important to make the manual payments in order to avoid defaulting on the payment plan that was established.   In October of 2016 it has been determined that the client defaulted on the agreement set up in February for failing to make the manual payments to the IRS. Although the case had been resolved, Optima Tax had a certified Tax Professional reach out to the IRS and reestablished a new payment arrangement in the sum of $231.00. This was done as a courtesy, and no additional fees were charged. During a conversation on December 22, 2016 the client admitted that they did not follow our instructions and did not make the mandatory payments until the direct debit took place. Although there is no fault of Optima Tax and we completed our services as agreed, we still offered the client a courtesy refund.    At Optima Tax we strive to uphold the philosophy that "clients come first" and all of our representatives go through rigorous training to assure we abide by that philosophy. We take all complaints very seriously, and we do our best to turn them around when possible. Optima Tax will continue their efforts to address any concerns. Please do not hesitate to contact Optima Tax with any questions. Thank you.

I was pleased with how Optima Tax Relief handled my tax issues. It took about 6 months to come to a resolution, but it was worth it at the end. I owed about $42,000 to the IRS and Optima Tax Relief reduced that amount to $31,000 and managed to have the IRS forgive $6,000 in fines and penalties. Optima Tax Relief was very professional and I am satisfied with their services. I now sleep a lot better at night.

I am impressed about Optima Tax Relief LLC. Tney were always professional. The tax form/letters software, internet connections has made things go smoothly. I still can't believe now I only owe IRS $934. Before I originally owed $17,000. I previously gave up. I had stressed for so many years of how am I going to pay this amount? And everytime I opened a bank account, IRS would take my money. Now, I have peace of mind. I am so happy. Yes, there is a God.

I spoke by telephone today with a specialist from Optima's Executive Relations Department in an attempt to secure a refund.
According to Optima's relations specialist, their contract provides that they are "in the right" even if they provide false information to their customer at the conclusion of the investigation phase. Their relations specialist confirmed that although the Optima case worker told me the IRS was undertaking collection activity against me, this was not true. He also confirmed that the $79,000 figure did not come from the IRS (as was stated by the Optima case worker), but was Optima's assessment of what I may owe in the future. In other words, the Optima case worker lied to me, presumably to get me to move forward with the next ($9000) phase of their services, even though the IRS had not yet assessed any amount due, nor had they commenced any collection activity against me.
The relations specialist said that a full refund "is not going to happen", but stated he would forward my complaint to some board within the company who may or may not approve a partial refund because "Optima expended man-hours on this case".
Optima admits that their employee provided false information about the results of my investigation (for which I paid $995), yet they refuse to provide a full refund for the product they did not provide.
I await their further communication to see what "partial refund" they may or may not offer.

SUMMARY -
Optima...

Tax's management has been in contact with the client and
have come to a mutual resolve.

RESPONSE
-
Optima Tax’s management has been in communication with the
client to address his concerns as outlined in the complaint. It is regrettable that
the client feels that communication and or our response time is not reasonable,
we have assured the client that communication will not be an issue moving
forward. After speaking with the client and providing a breakdown as to where
we’re at with his case he felt more at ease with his case. More importantly,
the client believes in Optima Tax and we have agreed to continue our business
relationship until we come to a final resolve regarding his tax liability.

At Optima Tax we strive to uphold the philosophy that
"clients come first" and all of our representatives go through rigorous training to assure we abide by that
philosophy. We take all complaints very seriously, and we do our best to turn
them around when possible. Optima Tax
believes it has addressed the client's concerns appropriately and will consider
this matter closed. Please do not hesitate to contact Optima Tax with any
questions. Thank you.

SUMMARY -
Optima...

Tax's management has made contact with the client and we’re
working towards a mutual resolution.

RESPONSE
-
Optima Tax’s management has made contact with the client to
discuss her concerns as outlined in the complaint. Although Optima Tax advertises
that it may be able to reduce a taxpayer’s outstanding liability, it also
clearly discloses that every tax payer will not qualify for a reduction. Moreover,
our contract, which every client receives and signs, also discloses that not
every tax payer will receive a reduction and any reduction must be accepted by
the tax authority. To assure that every client we represent fully understands
the nature of our services, each client will go through a recorded Verification
Call that thoroughly covers all legal disclosures to which they must
acknowledge their understanding of these representations.

Optima
Tax is disappointed that the client feels as though we have not been
forthcoming in our communications. Optima Tax understands that client’s are anxious
about their tax liability and we work hard to keep them informed at all times.
However, there will be times when Optima Tax is not able to update the client
with new information because we are waiting on the IRS to respond to our
communications. This does not mean Optima Tax is not working the case as
outlined in the agreement. It’s unfortunate that the client feels as if Optima
Tax scammed her but, after our initial conversation the client has a better
understand of our services and we are confident that we have changed her
perception. More importantly, we are working towards a mutual resolution that
will satisfy both parties involved.

At Optima Tax we strive to uphold the philosophy that
"clients come first" and all of our representatives go through rigorous training to assure we abide by that
philosophy. We take all complaints very seriously, and we do our best to turn
them around when possible. Optima Tax
believes it has addressed the client's concerns appropriately and considers the
matter closed. Please do not hesitate to contact Optima Tax with any questions.
Thank you.

A rebuttal was submitted because issues has not been addressed. Two attempts were made on both parties to contact each other but there has been a conflict of times in both attempts. I sent an email with times of availibility and now awaiting a phone call on Tuesday.

I love Optima Tax!!! They are extremely professional, polite, knowledgeable, and kind. They made me feel comfortable and confident every step of the way. No judgement, only honest compassion. I thank everyone for helping me!

Although the client rejected our initial response, he has not provided us with any additional details as to his reasons for rejecting, which would allow us to better address his concerns. We believe our initial response was clear and appropriately addressed all of the client’s concerns. Optima Tax presented the client with its proposed action to resolve the client’s liability with the[redacted], but the client has decided to pursue alternative avenues outside the scope of Optima Tax’s services. Therefore, Optima Tax is no longer servicing the client’s case. Optima Tax has been diligent in its efforts to address all of the client’s concerns.

Very nice people.

SUMMARY - Optima Tax's management has been in contact with the client prior to receiving the complaint to address their concerns. RESPONSE - Optima Tax’s management established communication with the client to address the concerns as outlined in the complaint. However, the client never allowed the...

corresponding agent to address his claims. There is no incentive to Optima Tax in providing a false investigation to the client or any client we represent. Optima Tax conducts a thorough investigation of our client’s tax liability in order to ensure that we can appropriately resolve the client’s tax issues. In this case, we have on record the name and employee ID number of the IRS agent we gathered all the information related to the clients outstanding tax liability from. Moreover, based on this information, we provided the client with our formulated strategy to help resolve his case during our Resolution Phase. This Case Summary was provided to the client on or about December 29,2016 and it  provides a detailed breakdown of what Optima Tax discovered during the Investigation Phase including a formulated strategy to help resolve their case during the Resolution Phase. Per the agreement, it clearly states that there are secondary fees associated with our Resolution Phase. The client also went through a voice recorded Verification Call that covers all legal disclosures with each legal disclosure requiring a “yes” answer in order to continue moving forward. After reviewing the Verification Call the client provided a “yes” answer to all legal disclosures, including but not limited to, the services Optima Tax will provide during the Investigation Phase, and disclosing that there will be secondary fees. The client also gave Optima Tax a 10 rating to his level of understanding with 10 being the highest rating a client can give. The client further claims that he is entitled to a full refund because of our 15 day money back guarantee. However, as our Client Service Agreement clearly states, our 15 day money back guarantee is from the date the Agreement was signed. In addition. during the Verification call the 15 day money back guarantee is also one of the legal disclosures the client must provide a “yes” answer in order to continue moving forward. During the Verification Call the client acknowledged that he understood there is a 15 day money back guarantee which begins on the date the Agreement was signed. If a client requests a refund outside of the money back guarantee period, then Optima Tax will evaluate the client’s request on a case by case basis in order to ensure our client’s highest satisfaction. At Optima Tax we strive to uphold the philosophy that "clients come first" and all of our representatives go through rigorous training to assure we abide by that philosophy. We take all complaints very seriously, and we do our best to turn them around when possible. Optima Tax believes it has addressed the client's concerns appropriately and considers the matter closed. Please do not hesitate to contact Optima Tax with any questions. Thank you.
