disclaimerThe issue at hand is their pressure tactics to pay RCI and deposit rooms into their inventoryFirst, I saw an RCI book that listed properties in London, Paris and GreeceBeing an RCI member, when I wanted to book a room in Paris in 2014, I was first asked to deposit rooms before I could see ANYTHINGSo I incurred the expense of $to deposit rooms, and then find that the property WAS available, but ONLY for cash payment! i.ethe rooms were not available for tradeSo why ask me, a member in good standing, to deposit rooms before showing me this information? If that had been the case, I would never have spent the money or deposited the rooms.Now that I have rooms deposited, I get a phone call from RCI: to avoid losing the room, you need to extend your membership for $If I was not held hostage, I would have declinedInstead, I was forced to pay $109.A year later, I am told the rooms will expire (though I just extended my membership) unless I pay another $119.This is faulty inducement, and extortionA Better Business would have done the following: If I am a member, show me the rooms available and the cost in terms of trading power or cashEnd of storyThey would never have gotten either my rooms or my money were it not for this trap
