Penn Credit Corporation Reviews (497)

Penn Credit reviewed and investigated the complaint.   Please advise [redacted] that Penn Credit is a Third-Party Collection Agency attempting to collect a debt on behalf of [redacted].  I updated [redacted]’s dispute stating he isn’t responsible for this debt.    According to our...

records, Penn Credit has not received any prior requests from [redacted] wanting verification of the debt.  The only communication we had regarding the matter resulted from an inbound call from [redacted]’s spouse inquiring about a possible settlement.    Per [redacted]’s request, I have updated his file so he does not receive further communication regarding the matter.  In the event [redacted] changes his mind and is still requesting verification of the debt, please advise him to contact me directly to provide his consent.       Penn Credit will update the credit bureaus regarding [redacted]’s dispute accordingly and as required by law.  This trade-line will not be deleted from [redacted]’s credit bureau reports unless the dispute is confirmed and validated by the original creditor.         Please advise [redacted] to contact me directly should he have any questions or concerns.  My direct line is ###-###-####, or he can email me at [redacted]@penncredit.com.   Thank you for your assistance in resolving this matter.

toll free ###-###-#### or email him at [redacted].   I am unabe to provide a payment in full letter since it was sent to the original creditor. The original creditor the agency she made payment in full to will have to provide the payment in full letter because the account was closed with our office and did not provide a reason. If the reason would have been a payment in full at creditor I would be able to provide one.   Thank you for your assistance in resolving this matter.

Penn Credit follows the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Penn Credit was notified of the payment in full on February 2, 2016. The account was placed with Penn Credit as a collection item. FCRA guidelines disctate that credit reporting agecnies (CRA’s) report accurate information.

did send a paid in full update on February 4, 2016.

In order to make sure that the record is updated to pid in full I am going to send another paid in full update through E-Oscar today.
Please have Ms. [redacted] check her credit in approximately twenty (20) days and the record should appear as a paid in full status.
If she would like to discuss the matter further please have her contact Thomas Perrotta directly toll free ###-###-#### or email him at [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: I did not receive anything in the mail like they state. Please show proof of what you sent. And why do I have to call and talk to when when I asked you to validate this debt and you have failed to do so?

Penn Credit was calling a wrong phone number. Penn Credit did cease all follow up with the phone number provided in the complaint ###-###-#### on February 10, 2016.
Penn Credit apologizes for the inconvenience.
If [redacted] should receive any additonal calls please have him either make use...

of the Penn Credit wrong number OPT OUT option on the phone call or he can contact Thomas P[redacted] directly toll free ###-###-#### or email him at [redacted]@penncreditcom.

I reviewed and investigated the complaint.
Penn Credit did not make numerous calls to [redacted] as outlined in the complaint. Penn Credit only received the account on December 23, 2015.
Penn Credit did communicate with [redacted] on December 29, 2015. During the conversation he did not...

mention any prior calls. He just wanted to make sure that his parents didn’t receive any additional calls. [redacted] did state that he would pay on line without providing a date.
Penn Credit did block the phone number in concern from receiving any additional calls to it.

Please have him contact Thomas P[redacted] toll free ###-###-#### or email him at [redacted]@penncredit.com.

I have reviewed and investigated the complaint. The consumer did state that she wanted proof of signature and without refused payment. According to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA); outright refusal to pay is the same as reqesting a cease communication. Penn Credit did honor that...

Communications placed an outstanding account in our office for Mr. [redacted]
on  10/08/2014 in the amount of $177.76;
the required validation notice was mailed to Mr. [redacted] on 10/09/2014.  A second notice was mailed to Mr. [redacted] on
November 23, 2014.
On
December 12, 2014 we received a copy of his Windsteam Communications bill
showing a zero balance due on page 1, on page 2 of the bill it shows the
outstanding balance being written off to bad debt due to being sent to a
collection agency.
As of today we have not received
any notification from our client the account in question has been paid.   If Mr. [redacted] has any documentation such as
a copy of the canceled check to show the outstanding balance of $177.76 has
been paid; I would be happy to review with our client.

Penn Credit did review and investigate the complaint and agree that [redacted] did send a letter and our original notice back stating the money wasn’ owed.
The balance owed is penalty and interest according to our records.
Since [redacted] has stated in his complaint he isn’t paying and...

does not want any additional follow up I have honored his request and placed a status on the account to not attempt to collect the debt any further. However, [redacted] must know that this will not stop the original creditor from attempting to collect the debt if they so wish.
If [redacted] would like to discuss thematter further please have him contact Thomas Perrotta directly toll free ###-###-#### or email him at [redacted]@penncreditcom

First this company called regarding a state tax bill I didn't owe. They tried to get me to give my social security number so they could "clear it up." When I wouldn't give it to them, the man was rude and told me, " you obviously don't want to resolve this, do you?" I hung up on him. Now they keep calling even though I have told them not to multiple times. The nasty woman I have spoken to TWICE told me not to get aggressive with me that it takes 48 hours to get my number on the no call list. This was after I had the same conversation with her last week. These people are lying vultures trying to cheat people out of money. I don't understand how they stay in business.

We received an email on 6/23/2014 informing us that we were calling an incorrect phone number.  The phone number was removed from out system so as of 6/24/2014 it would no longer be called by Penn Credit,   We did attempt the phone number in question on 6/23/2014 where **. [redacted] was kind enough to verbally let us know we were contacting an incorrect phone number.

The call on 6/23/2014 was the last contact we have attempted to **. [redacted]
