Penn Credit Corporation Reviews (497)

Penn Credit did review and investigate the complaint.   Please advise [redacted] that according to our records, the account referenced in this complaint was paid in full on March 1, 2017.  Penn Credit confirms that paid in full notification was sent to the credit bureaus to...

reflect a zero balance.  Penn Credit will not delete this account from the credit bureaus as we are required to remain in accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act.  Per the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Penn Credit is obligated to report true and accurate information, as a result, the account will continue to reflect a zero balance with the credit reporting agencies.  [redacted] was advised of this upon agreeing to pay this account in full on March 1, 2017.      Please have [redacted] contact me directly should she have any questions or concerns.  My direct line is [redacted] or she can email me at [redacted].   Thank you for your help in resolving this matter.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.....as long as the itemized detail of the purchase can be proven and I can validate that I made the purchase, I would want any late fee's or penalty fee's removed from the original amount owed.  I made the request for this purchase to be researched and provided to me from initial notification, but until the Revdex.com got involved, no one was willing to work with me.

Penn Credit reviewed and investigated the complaint.
In the process of the investigation the original creditor was contacted and
stated that four (4) statements were sent to the consumer concerning the bill
and none were...

returned. The statement dates were 8/22/2013, 9/23/2013,
10/23/2013 and 11/22/2013.
As a credit
reporting agency Penn Credit must report actual information and pursuant the
FCRA we can’t delete negative reporting with a promise of payment for removal.
If [redacted] can provide additonal information outlining a legitimate dispute
I would be able to remove the tradeline.
If [redacted] has any additional questions or
concerns please have him contact Thomas P[redacted] directly at [redacted] or
email him at [redacted].

Penn Credit did review and investigate the matter further, I placed a request into the reimbursement back to [redacted] and two of the three did go through. I did request the third be completed again and it was on June 20, 2016. Please have [redacted] contact me if it is not there by Friday July 29, 2016Thank you for your assistance in the resolution of this matter.

Penn Credit did review and investigate the complaint. In reviewing the complaint I do see that Ms. [redacted] had problems paying on our payment portal. She had a problem because she provided her payment information to the collector and then wanted to pay on line to avoid the service charge. When the...

conusmer went to pay online the system noticed that payment information was already placed into the system that day and it appeared to be paying twice, even through the collector stopped the payment. This is a security measure taken by Penn Credit to make sure that payments are not taken out twice out of consumer account(s)
Ms. [redacted] did talk to Mr. Z[redacted] from our office and he offered to waive the fee since the payment portal wasn’t working. If Ms. [redacted] would have agreed to this the payment would have processed; however, I am sure out of frustartion she refused.
This is so last minute I had an email sent to our attorney to try and take off of docket today and place on next docket if the account should go unpaid by the next hearing date. I am not sure this will work but it is completed.
Please have Ms. [redacted] try today since the payment information has cleared and it should work or she can contact Mary Bentley at ###-###-#### to process the payment free of charge.
Thank you for your assistance in this matter.
If Ms. [redacted] would like to discuss with me directly I can be reached toll free at ###-###-#### or email me at [redacted]

called them to set up a payment plan. the lady was a little rude on the phone at first, but she ended up helping me out a lot. not too bad of an experience. I just wish Maryland would have allowed me to set up a payment plan with them a year and a half ago like I attempted to. Oh well.... The lady helped me out, so its being taken care of now.

Penn Credit did discuss the matter with [redacted] on January 4, 2016 and according to the account record his concerns were addressed when a payment in full letter was faxed to him at his request.
Additionally, I did see that [redacted] did request payment in full letter prior and never...

received. According to the account record one was not sent; it should have been sent approximately 20 days after payment was made.
I apologize for the inconvenience and if If [redacted] would like to discuss with me directly I can be reached toll free at ###-###-#### or email me at [redacted]@penncredit.com
Thank you for your assistance in the resolution of this matter.

I have reviewed and investigated the complaint.
Penn Credit as part of the investigation has requested validation and an itemized statement of the account. The account has been placed in a disputed status and will not be followed up until the original creditor has provided the information and...

the credit bureau has been updated to reflect a disputed status.
Once the validaiton is forwarded to [redacted] and she has had an opportunity to review and contact our office to resolve the credit bureau will be updated to the proper status.
If [redacted] would like to discuss further please have her contact Thomas P[redacted], Vice President direclty toll free ###-###-#### or email him at [redacted]@penncredit.com.
Thank you for your assistance in the resolution of this matter

I have reviewed and investigated the complaint.
Penn Credit does have record of 1 letter being received from [redacted] concerning the debt stating that he does not owe the bill and that he purchased the car from his father; unofrtunately the addresses did not match and due to security issues we could not process the request for a wrong party. I was able to verify by the account balance that [redacted] provided in the complaint.
[redacted] needs to provide a form [redacted] and provide it to the county. If he did purchase from his father and has that form completed the amount owed would be $25.00 plus applicable interest to date.
I have disputed the account and will cease collection efforts until [redacted] has had an opportunity to provide the information requried to resolve his concerns.
If [redacted] has any additonal questions or wants to discuss further please have him contact Thomas P[redacted], Vice President direclty toll free ###-###-#### or email him at [redacted]@penncredit.com.

[redacted] must understand that Penn Credit is a licensed third party collection agency. Penn Credit is not a creditor nor a debt purchaser but an assigned contigent collections agency. Additionally, Original creditors do have the right to...

obtain vendors as part of their collection process and have those vendors report to the credito bureau puraunt the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA)
[redacted] did also file a Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Complaint (CFPB) in which Penn Credit answer is pending receipt of validation of the debt since [redacted] stated in her complaint that she did not owe.
As part of both the FCRA and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) Penn Credit has ceased communication with [redacted] and updated the Credit Bureau to a disputed status until the original creditor has provided validation of the debt.

After receiving the Revdex.com complaint Penn Credit contacted out client to determine if they are still showing an outstanding balance for the account in our office.   They responded that they did receive a payment in their office to pay the balance they turned over to collection.   We updated our records and this will stop all contact with [redacted] for the account in question.

Please be advised that our client [redacted] placed an outstanding balance in our office on April 4, 2014, the required validation notice was mailed to the same address listed on [redacted]’s Revdex.com complaint on 4/8/2014.

We also made several manual phone attempts to reach her on the cell phone provided to our client, these calls were made on 4/17/2014,4/24/2014,4/30/2014 and 5/8/2014.

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
Regards,
[redacted]

Mr. T[redacted] has access to all of the pertinent information he seeks based on the name of the individual filing the complaint. If there was indeed a legitimate debt that I was being contacted about, it is as simple as the company doing a search for information related to that. The response proves that there is not. Penn Credit continues to call people (myself included) and harass them about debts that do not exist, and then hang up on consumers when they press them for more information.

Penn Credit did review and investigate the complaint.   Please advise [redacted] that the City of Deltona, FL notified Penn Credit on March 9, 2017 that the account referenced in this complaint was paid in full.  I was also able to confirm that [redacted] was also told by the original...

creditor that the account would be removed from her credit report.   Due to this, Penn Credit sent deletion notification to the credit bureaus on April 24, 2017.   Please advise [redacted] that it may take up to twenty-one days for these changes to reflect on her credit bureau reports.   Penn Credit apologizes for any inconvenience this may have caused [redacted].    Please notify [redacted] to contact me directly should she have any questions or concerns.  My direct line is [redacted] extension [redacted], or she can email me at Thomas.P[redacted]@pennCredit.com.   Thank you for your help in resolving this matter.
