Review: I saw a roof replacement display given by this company. I spoke to a representative from the company at the beginning of March 2013. I told the representative that I wanted to have my roof replaced. The representative then asked me if I need to have any window done, I said "no, all of my windows are new. The representative then asked me if I need any sliding glass doors, I told him that I possibly might need 1 sliding glass door. The representative then asked me how many sliding glass doors did I have, I told him 2, but that 1 of them was replaced at the time of my windows. The representative then told me that if the company came to my house that they would have to replace both of the sliding glass doors. I then told the representative this practice seemed a bit self-defeating and that I did not want his company to do any work for me and not to contact me for any reason. Since then I have had almost daily calls from this company, some times more than once daily.Desired Settlement: Stop calling me and do not give my contact information to any other person or company.

Review: I made the huge mistake of letting this company come to my house for an estimate for new windows. I told the sales rep that I just wanted an estimate and under no circumstances would I be committing to any purchase that day. He was in my house for over 3 hours and became very negative and aggressive when I reiterated that I wasn't buying anything from him that day. That left me with a sour taste but I was still willing to give the company a chance after I got other estimates. Now they call me nonstop but don't leave messages. A quick search on [redacted] produces pages of complaints about this company calling and harassing people. I want it to stop today. I can't even call or email to ask them to stop because of this disclaimer on their website:

Dan our salesman was fantastic, very very thorough. Throughout the process I was always able to get in touch with either Zach,Steve, Jeff, or Noel which are the project managers, the Preinstall, and Forman. They were very informative the entire time and always had somebody to answer our questions. I know we spent a lot on the the roof the gutters and our attic insulation but we are staying here forever and we fell it was money well spent for the peace of mind!

Review: Power HRG replace my roof on November 9. 2013 its seen the they did a good job but approximately two to three weeks later it rain hard in NY. I'm in my living room when I hear water drop in my kitchen. Water was coming from the side of skylight in to the kitchen had four bucket collecting water I is was a Friday night. Call immediately that night got a answer service let my complaint. On Saturday call a got a representative that stating they cant send will send someone within a week I strongly advised him that is leak is bad and my kitchen wall and ceiling are damaged. Representative state that it was my sky light that was damaged and its my responsibility and not the company again I demanded that someone come. As well I when to home depot brought bricks and wood to cover the sky light early that morning. Its was raining on and off that Saturday and its was stilling leaking into my kitchen. That Saturday a supervisor from crew who replace my roof back in November 2013 came he and did worked on the sky light. We when into the attic and I showed him where is was leaking he stated it was my skylight that he's repair sure fix it. Well the following week came it rain hard again and my kitchen was still leaking, to try to stop the leak I replace bricks, canvass and wood quest what it was still leaking. Call again spoke with to [redacted] explain everything how my wife and I was treated with the last representative. He apologize and stated that is was my sky light but that he will send someone to the house. It was a few days later someone cane to LOOK THAT THE ROOF and SKYLIGHT and saw what was WRONG the skylight was missing flashes guard around it. A week later a crew came remove the skylight but it added flasher guards around it and did whatever it took to fix the problem. GREAT CREW. OVERALL IT WAS NOT THE SKY LIGHT THAT WAS DAMAGED it was the first crew lack of work. mean while having talking to these representative numerous time on who going to replace my wall, ceiling and some damaged to wood frame of window they stated It my problem. WHAT you company is at fault well till this time got no feed back from them which [redacted] was to call us back. I feel that paying so much for there product and service they could fix my kitchen that was never leaking or damaged by the companyDesired Settlement: Would like to have my kitchen the way it was before Power HRG replace my roof. Replace ceiling, walls and wood frame from the window that there they neglected to do proper job.

I am in love with my windows!!! I noticed the difference in my house the first day, it was cooler and quieter. I waited years to get my windows replaced and I am glad I did or I might not have found power.

Review: On December 31, 2013 I received a sales call from this company at 7:52 am. The call came from the company's IL phone number of ###-###-####. I did agree to allow the company to come to my home for a free estimate at 1:30 pm. To call me at 7:52 am when I was told I would be contacted at 9:30 am was not professional nor legal. I have been receiving calls every day, one to two times a day. I want the calls to stop coming to my cell phone. I told the company I would call them if I wanted to use there services.

Review: 2 guys were doing door to door, offering estimates on Window replacement. I agreed to have a salesman come out. Team of 2 guys (in their 30ish) came out for an 8PM appointment and spent 2+ hours giving a presentation on windows. During that time I had to request:

1. To get started as I went to bed at 10PM,

2. To Measure the window without opening each and every window and commenting on cleaning the sill area, as it had no bearing on the size of the window.

3. To stop telling me what other companies charged as I was only interested in Powerbuilder quote

4. That, I would only make my decision after I get 2 other competitors quote, regardless of the price/quote offered to me on the spot.

5. Reminded them them on numerous occasions, that they would have to leave at 10PM, even gave them a three minute warning.

One of the guy even commented how one of the window could be sinking because the beading around it had cracked, implying high cost to get it fixed.

I repeatedly asked if I would get a cost based on per window in the house (as they had labelled each one) to help me be flexible in determining which widows I could replace - what I got was one price (good for 12 months) and another if I was to accept the deal there and then. Repeatedly, I had to tell them I would only decide after I received 2 other quotes - I even, commented may I should bring them parrot so, he can repeatedly them the same thing.

Finally, at approximately 10:15 PM, I walked up to the door ,opened it and asked them to leave - despite that it took them another 5-8 minutes before they left.

My wife later told me, she was going to call the police if they had not left soon, as she thought, they did not seem to want to leave.Desired Settlement: 1. Stop the 2+ hour sales pitch, respect the owner.

2. Be professional, don't waste time - there is no need to be friends with my family (they're not moving into the house)

3. Listen to the customer - how many times do you have to tell someone:

a. they had to leave by 10PM

b. decision would only be made after 2 more quotes from competitor

Review: I have had to tell these people to leave my property three times in less than two months as the go door-to-door soliciting. I contacted the company in July of 2012 to let them know I was not interested but then they came once in June of 2013 and twice in July of 2013. My neighborhood has a "no soliciting" sign at the only entrance to the neighborhood, so there is no reason they should be at my door at all, let alone three times (including making my two dogs bark every time and waking up my naping children twice).Desired Settlement: I do not want this company to ever come to my house again. I also don't want them soliciting in my neighborhood again. Following the policy of our neighborhood's posted sign seems like common sense to me.

Response:

Our problem starts with gross misleading with product, installation, mis-management, lack of customer service. We were very excited to have improvements done to our home, however it turned into a huge mess with us paying more then we should have been charged. This company admits that they "dropped the ball" on this project with pricing, deadlines and quality of work promised. The staff (labors/project manager and regional manager) used were questionable at best with questions about materials be ordered several times secondary to improperly measured. The company attempted to fix the situation with a refund of some money paid however was in no way comparable to money invested on our behalf.

I am writing to tell you how absolutely horrified I am by your sales tacticsJust about an hour ago, I felt threatened by one of your salespeople, not because he actually threatened me, but because he would not leave my houseJust yesterday I was approached by one of your saleswomen named “Chelsea” in a BJs“Chelsea” asked if I was interested in re-doing the siding, windows or roofing on my houseI said I had wanted to change the siding on my house, but that I wasn’t able to do so right now due to financial reasonsHowever, “Chelsea” reassured me that a salesman could come by to take measurements and provide a quote - nothing more, short and sweetKeep in mind that I asked specifically whether the process would take a long time, as I have three young children under years old, and evenings are very busyI was told that he would be in and out - that he would take measurements, leave an estimate, and we could call back when we wanted to have the siding installed or if we had any questionsAn appointment was set up for tonightI was excited to get a quote, as we really hate our ugly old siding and are VERY interested in energy efficient optionsWill I be giving my business to your company? NO WAYNEVERTonight, I felt threatened by your salesman, Michael, because he would not leave my homeI literally had to YELL at him to leave my houseI am NOT the kind of person that would EVER do this - EVERI make it a priority to be kind and polite to everyone I meet - salespeople, strangers, people on the phone, everyoneHowever, this man simply would not leave my homeAt first, he did his measurementsEverything was normalHowever, while I was helping my kindergartner with his homework, my husband was trying to explain to "Michael" that we didn't have time for an actual conversation immediatelyWe are interested, but we would need to speak later on the subjectMy husband asked for the quoteNo quote was given"Michael" said that your quotes are "too high” to simply be given to potential customers - potential customers MUST sit down with the salesmanThat was the first inkling that something was wrongI had been told that this would be short and sweet, but already that was turning out to be a lieI have three young children, including a newborn baby, that needed to get a bath, dinner and bed“Michael” finally said he would leave, but then he said that he WAS GOING TO COME BACK TO OUR HOUSE AFTER HIS DINNERAt this point, my husband began to lose his patienceHe came to get me (taking me away from my child who I was doing homework with!!!)My husband wanted me to tell the salesman the SAME THING - we needed to be taking care of our small children now“Michael” seemed convinced he needed to talk to us both, so my husband brought me in to show “Michael” that neither of us would be interested in a sales pitch right nowI kindly explained to “Michael” that not only did we need to tend to our children, but that both my husband and I were busy with work tonightAt this point, "Michael" started to show me photos that he had taken of my home, and he began to tell me all kinds of things that are "wrong" with my house - many of which were simply untrueThe funniest one: he claimed that the entryway of my house was "rotting" - HAH! What he pointed out as "rot" was a place where my dog had literally chewed on the wood about a month ago when we didn't let her in when she wanted to come in the houseAnyway, I said that I appreciated his concern about my house, and would gladly take his name and give him our businessI told him that my husband is ALSO a salesman, and I understand the importance of giving "Michael" the credit for the saleI said, once again, that we needed to tend to our children, and that it was too late for a meetingHe wouldn't leaveI then stated that we know we need repairs, and that we simply do not have the funds currently to make an expensive siding purchaseWe are waiting on a bonus that my husband should receive towards the end of this year, and THEN we can make a purchase like thisDid that balk “Michael?” NOPEHe said that waiting two months would be devastating to our houseOK, “Michael,” what do you want? Do you want us to give you the ZERO DOLLARS that we currently have in order for you to put up siding RIGHT THIS MOMENT? Where is the logic here?!
After he started a pitch that began to insult my home, I basically threw up my hands and said, “Oh, ok, you don’t get itI can’t make this purchase right now, and I cannot stand here any longer, because my kids need my attention right nowI’m sorry, but you need to leave my house.”
He seemed surprised, and said, “What did I do?”
I literally moved to the door, opened it, and asked him to leaveI said that I didn’t know what else to tell him, but that I literally could not make a purchase right now, and that this conversation had to endHE WOULD NOT LEAVEI told him that at this point, he had lost the sale, and would not be getting our businessHE STILL DID NOT LEAVEI am a womanI was in my pajamas, getting the kids ready for bedI began to feel threatenedThis man WOULD NOT LEAVE MY HOUSEHe simply would not leave! I kept gesturing to the door, saying that he needed to get out of my houseMy husband came into the room, leaving the kids in another room for safetyI began shouting“PLEASE LEAVE MY HOMEI AM NOT KIDDING AROUND RIGHT NOWI FEEL THREATENED BY YOUR PRESENCE AND THE FACT THAT YOU ARE NOT LEAVING MY HOUSE.”
It took me shouting at him for a good two minutes before he would leaveThe sad thing is that I am guessing Power Home Remodeling Group is TELLING YOUR SALESPEOPLE to NOT leave the house of the people they are trying to sell toBased upon reviews that I am unfortunately only now just reading, this is not an isolated occurrencePoor “Michael” was likely just doing his job, trying to make his numbersBut guess what? You, Power Home Remodeling Group, CANNOT tell your employees to refuse to leave someone’s houseI am a strong woman, but I began to actually be afraidAnd guess what? Once he left, and I thought it was over? He knocked on my door again! We ignored him for a few minutes, but then he knocked againWhen I finally answered, he said that the light in my car was onOk, thank you MichaelI appreciate thatBut the fact that I was literally afraid to open my door to you? Not so goodThanksDo I need repairs to my house? YESWill I EVER give Power Home Remodeling Group my business? NO WAYAs much as Michael may be a nice person in “real life,” he became a threat to me and my family when he would not leave my home after I asked him NUMEROUS timesThe fact that I, as a normally kind and polite person, had to SHOUT at a person to leave my house, means that your company is beyond bizarre and, to put it frankly, does not deserve my businessI will be posting this everywhere I can POSSIBLY think of so that no other woman has to feel threatened by one of your salespeople! SHAME ON YOU, POWER HOME REMODELING!!!!!!

Review: Hello, I really wish I could chose multiple complaint concerns. I would am reaching out to you to inform and request guidance on the lack of warranty support from Power Home Remodeling Group on a product that was considered a "free gift" if a roof installation was contracted. We chose to move forward with a roof installation contract although I believe we were over charged because during the walk thru we were told that we had to get new base boards, but none of the base boards were replaced, which was a considerable portion of the cost. Next, we had a completely different company come out to install the [redacted] system (free gift) and they did not installed the system to match our HVAC settings, which greatly increased our power/electric bill because the system was triggering the fan to blow, but not blowing air. So within a year of having the system it shorted out because the thermostat was not installed correctly causing a fuse short in the [redacted] unit. We called to have a HVAC specialist come out to check the system because we believed the HVAC unit was not working due to the HVAC system (not the thermostat). After investigation, the HVAC specialist determined that the setting were not set properly and the thermostat was inactive/faulty. The cost to conduct this evaluation was $290. Then, we followed up with Power Home Remodeling because the service was provided within the year of installation. Power Home Remodeling never returned my calls nor did they follow up to address my concerns. I called several times and to no avail. I forwarded the HVAC Specialist invoice and yet no support was provided. The company told me because I didn't complain until month after the installation, then they had no cause to support my concerns (reimbursement for having a HVAC specialist come out to correct the faulty installed system). They were very rude with trying to understand my concerns as a consumer and my complaints that fell within the year of the [redacted] installation. The back and forth went on for over a month and now I am reaching out to you for guidance on moving forward in collecting reimbursement. The company states in their agreement that they would take full responsibility for any sub-contractor work conducted on the house (this was not provided).

The Power Home Remodeling company also cancelled out our service request for siding installation. On 8/19/2013, we chose to have them complete the siding and shutter work on the house for a cost of about $16000. The company approved and signed the invoice to accept the charges, but within a couple of days they retracted the contract verbally and then sent a notice saying it was agreed upon, but it was not an agreement by the buyer ([redacted]).

The finance was stated to be 5.90% APR, but our invoices reflect 7.67%. So I believe we have been over charged based on the signed agreement.Desired Settlement: I would like to be reimbursed for the HVAC specialist charge of $290 and I would like to have my roof installation service charge reviewed as I believe we were over charged for materials we did not receive and interest rate incorrectly charged.

Dear [redacted],

Thank you for taking the

time to write about your recent remodeling project. I’m sorry to hear that you were not

completely satisfied with your experience.

I have reviewed you complaint and personally looked into the matter.

The [redacted] thermostat is

included in the [redacted] attic insulation portion of your project as a

free gift from the manufacturer. You were

not charged for this item and Power HRG does not offer a warranty on it. However, the manufacturer of the [redacted] does

offer customer support. Unfortunately

you contacted and paid a third party contractor to service the thermostat

before contacting Power and allowing us to put you in touch with the [redacted] customer support. Please keep in mind, once you contacted the

[redacted] they sent you a free replacement unit and installed it at no cost to you.

The siding project was sold

separately from the roofing and insulation project. On 8/7/14, at the point of sale, the

Remodeling Consultant presented the incorrect pricing. The Contractor’s Right to Cancel is outlined

in the Custom Remodeling and Improvement Agreement. It states; In the event that the Contractor

determines that this Agreement cannot be performed as intended by the parties

due, for example, to incorrect pricing, unforeseen structural defect, or

pre-existing conditions to Buyer’s property, Contractor may cancel this

Agreement within forty-five (45) days of its execution, notify Buyer(s) of such

cancellation in writing and return all monies paid by Buyer(s).

The Agreement Amendment was

mailed and emailed to you on 8/19/14.

These documents state the financing was reverting back to 7.9%

for the roofing project. The lender only

offers the 5.9% rate on combined projects.

I apologize for any

confusion or miscommunication. All goods and services were provided as promised in the original

Agreement dated 6/28/13. If you would

like to discuss this issue in further detail or would like to request any of

these documents for your reference, please contact me via the information noted

below.

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the response. If no reason is received your complaint will be closed Administratively Resolved]

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

1. Eamon L[redacted] states that contract from 8/7/2013 was voided. We have a signed contract from 8/14/2013 that says 5.9%. Final signed contract on record. [Document attached of signed contract]

Review: Hired the company to install a front door. After completion of the installation, we noticed the lights not working around the area where the door was installed (foyer light, outside lights). Outlets do work, lights do not. The company was given the opportunity to come and inspect the problem. A non-electrician was send to view the problem. He could not resolve. The resolution given was for the homeowner to hire an electrician and proof that issue was created by the door installation.Desired Settlement: Since the issue arise from the installation of the door, I recommend that Power HRG hires an electrician. Power HRG and customer will be present at the time the electrician arrives at the house. If the problem is determined to be caused by the installation of the door, Power HRG will fix the problem and pay for the cost associated with the electrician. If the problem is found to be non-related, customer agrees to pay the cost of the electrician.

The people power sent out are friendly. The product demonstration and qaulity is what I really liked. The crew showed up on time and went right to work.

The sales person was professional we really liked him. The crew was the same as the other two times. Power home remodeling does what they say from start to finish and stands behind there products.

The first thing we noticed with our windows is how much it reduced the noise from outside. These guys were incredible all around. Everyone was really fun to be around and great with our kids. We are extremely happy with power!

Can beat the experience we have had with power. Everything worked out the way we expected. We wouldn't use anyone else. We had power home remodeling do our roof siding and windows. Love everything!!

The process went as explained from start to finish, happy with the people Power has sent out to my home. Everyone has been professional and courteous.

Review: Phone calls started 2 years ago and wont stop. We are no longer interested in any free estimate. When they call, if you tell them to stop calling, we are on do not call list, they hang up and call again. This morning they called at 8AM when we were not up. Long list of complaints if you google their business. Now if we needed such a business, we would choose to NOT contact them as they are harassing us.Desired Settlement: Stop calling us and never call us again. We dont do business with companies who have such business practices.

Review: My experience with Power Home Remodeling Group was terrible. I would not recommend these guys as they are unreliable, rude and not customer centric. The Power Home Remodeling Group made and appointment to come out and measure my windows for an early 9am Saturday morning estimate. A representative from their PA headquarters ([redacted]) called 1.5 hours before the set time and told me they could not make the appointment. I told the initial sales representatives (both the one who was at my door yesterday ([redacted]) and the one on the phone ([redacted]) at their PA headquarters) that I had to shuffle my schedule around in order to fit the time slot they had told me was the only one available. (this should have been my first clue this was going to be a high pressure sale experience) Normally I would not mind so much this type of delay but I had been so very clear that I was changing my weekend plans to fit their required time slot. When [redacted] called the morning of the appointment he was very rude to me when I told him that I could not reschedule for later in the day. He went on and on about how they needed over 2-hours to measure my 20 windows and that this was a "sales process and thousands of dollars" and needed the extra time to SELL US on the value of their windows. This was directly opposite of what I was told by [redacted] during the initial call. I was told I would get a no pressure estimate and could review it and decide later if I wanted to use their company to replace my windows. I felt like I was mislead and would be subject to a high pressure sale process like buying a time share or condo. No Thank you....... If you want to spend over 2 hours being pressured into buying their product then these are your guys.................

Response:

I scheduled an appointment for a free in home estimate on windows, they called an hour before my appointment to tell me they have no one available in my area and would like to call me back next time they were in my area. This appointment was scheduled a few days in advance. I have 15 windows and a slider door to be replaced, not a job they should want to pass up.
