Power Home Remodeling Group Reviews (609)

A salesman, Jeff, came to our door and was pleasant enough, asking if we were in the market for a new roof. We happen to be, having already gotten 2 quotes with one still on the way. I agreed to an appt the next day. Later that evening I got a call to verify the appt and was asked if my wife would be here, at which time I said that I would only give the salesman ten minutes, as this was a day off; I wanted to enjoy the day with my wife. The rep on the phone actually laughed, saying, "That's not enough time," to which I responded, "Then forget it," and hung up. I've had experience with these types of businesses. They high pressure sell to people who may have time for long presentations (the elderly or naive or both). Some have a positive experience, until they reveal to friends how much they paid.

I trusted the mike the sales guy that came out to do the estimate, so much so that I didn't even research anyone after he left. They really give you all the research up front so you don't have any questions at the end. I'm very satisfied with powers service and products.

Review: In 2011 Connecticut went through one of the worse snow seasons in years. We contacted said company to install gutters into our home, while the salesman was in our home we mentioned how we just went through an insurance claim for over $25,000 from ice damming. He then said the company had a product that could help prevent ice damming from happening and sold us blown in R-19 attic insulation. We have not had a snow season like 2011 until this year and like 2011 2013 has brought us ice damming. I contacted said company and they asked me if we have had an issue since then and I explained we haven't had the snow fall totals that we had when I was sold the product. I feel this company took advantage of a bad situation with false sales tactics and are still using these tactic as you can see by their web page https://www.powerhrg.com/insulation/get-a-free-energy-estimate.Desired Settlement: I feel they should be held liable for any damages caused by their product not working.

Review: This company has repeatedly called my 16 yr. old daughter's phone for more than two months. I have told them over and over to stop calling her. They keep saying that they have to reschedule an appointment, and that her phone number was given. No such thing was ever done. They have called her phone ten times in less than 24hrs. She was in class today when they kept calling. The man calling just says his name is [redacted]. He calls from different numbers. He calls mainly from ###-###-####. This has become a serious problem. Please can you help? Thank You, [redacted],Desired Settlement: I want these calls to stop immediately.

Review: I gave my home number to a representative of this company last year. The next day I called the company to tell them that I was not interested in doing business with them and I told the phone rep that I wanted them to delete my contact information and for them not to contact me or share/sell my contact information to any other organization.

After several months I have started to receive automated telemarketing calls on almost a daily basis from this company. It needs to stop now or I will consider legal processes to make it stop.Desired Settlement: NO MORE PHONE CALLS AND DO NOT SHARE WITH OTHER ORGANIZATIONS.

Review: I am receiving multiple calls from this company. The caller ID show "[redacted]", ###-###-####. Upon researching the number, I confirmed that it belongs to Power Home Remodeling Group.

I informed them that I do not care for their aggressive sales tactics and do not wish to be contacted by them.

Since then, they call and then hang up. This happens multiple times a week.

We have received roofing services elsewhere.Desired Settlement: We just wish to be left alone.

Review: Power Home Remodeling sent a representative to walk around my neighborhood to ask homeowners if they would like quotes on windows/siding/etc. We gladly scheduled an appoint to have a quote on our windows done. We received three phone calls to confirm the appointment however when the scheduled time arrived the salesmen did not show up and did not call. We waited patiently but after 45 minutes of a no-show and no phone call indicating they were running late, we called the office to cancel the meeting. Since then I have received several phone calls. We have requested this company stop calling us three times and each time have been assured that our name was removed from the list. I am also receiving emails and letters from the company. I have requested all communication be stopped and our name and number be taken off the list. This is ridiculous that not only should I have to ask more than once but that after three requests we are still receiving phone calls.Desired Settlement: I want them to remove my name, phone number, email address, mailing address and all other information from their systems and have NO further contact with me.

Review: This company was going door to door in my neighborhood more than a year ago and stopped by my home. Even though I needed the service they were providing the sales person's questions and attitude became more and more inconsiderate and I asked him to delete all my information, and told him, I did not want their service. Ever since I've been getting unsolicited phone calls every couple of months from this company even though I ask them to remove my phone number off their list multiple times every time they call. Tonight around 6:25pm, they called me again and the person introduced himself as [redacted]. I asked this person to remove my phone number off their list twice and asked him to confirm he understood what I asked. He responded by "I understand, however is your roof flat or pitched?" at which point I lost my temper and hung up the phone.Desired Settlement: I would like them to confirm in writing that they have removed my phone number from their database and they will not be calling me in the future.

In twenty years I haven't found a contractor as good power. Their prices are fair, more on the higher side but with good reason. They communicate well, explain the products well, and most important they follow through with everything they promise. I also really enjoyed each employee that came to visit, great people.

I had powers attic insulation installed yesterday. The installation went smoothly but the reason I'm writing this review is how impressed I am with there insulation product. I was nervous that I was getting sold on this insulation. Promises that it would be cooler upstairs and my bills would go down. I haven't gotten a bill yet but last night my room was finally cool, so I know my bills will go down. I am very happy with what power offered me and the people that work for this company are very pleasant to work with!

Review: I had some windows installed by these guys - not cheap. The sales guy promised they'd look just like the other front windows. They used a different color trim AND didn't shape it to look anything like any other trim on the the house. I called and was made to feel that my job was so small I should be happy they took it. I was then told that they won't fix it (do it right) and there is nothing I can do about it. Great. So much for attention to detail and service.Desired Settlement: Pay me for the cost of having another contractor finish the job right.

Review: On 26 January 2013, I entered into a contract with Power Home Remodeling Group (Project Number [redacted]) for the installation of a new roof on my home. The charges for materials and labor were $20,243.85, with a deposit of $5,000 and the remainder ($15,243.85) financed through [redacted] program, account number [redacted].

During the roof installation of the roof on 12 February 2013, electrical power to two rooms in the house was disrupted. [redacted], remodeling consultant for Power Home Remodeling Group was contacted and sent their electrician, [redacted], out to troubleshoot the problem. After two separate unsuccessful attempts to isolate the damage caused during the installation of the roof, I was instructed to hire an independent electrician to isolate and repair the damage. I received written confirmation on 20 March 2013 from [redacted], Warranty Service Agent, of Power Home Remodeling that they would be solely responsible for all fees incurred during the diagnosis and repair of the electrical problem caused by the installation of the roof. [redacted] Electric (repairman [redacted], cell # [redacted]) was hired to fix the problem. [redacted] Electric isolated and repaired the problem for $475 on 21 March 2013 (see attached invoice). I paid [redacted] by check. [redacted] of Power Home Remodeling Group was contacted for reimbursement. He offered to send me a gift card for $100, not the $475 dollars owed to me. I also contacted the original Power Home Remodeling electrician, [redacted] for reimbursement. He told me he was “off the case”. Since Power Home Remodeling obviously had no intention of paying for repair of the damage they caused, I contacted [redacted] through their Call for Action Hotline ([redacted]) on DATE??? and explained my problem. Within an hour I was contacted by Power Home Remodeling Group’s National Director who informed me that he would be mailing a check for $500 to me immediately. I have not received the check.

I am tired of getting the run-around from Power Home Remodeling Group and would like to be reimbursed for the money I spent to fix a problem that they caused while they were installing my roof.Desired Settlement: Pay me the $475 they owe me.

Review: On March 1, 2013, a window was installed at our house. Project Number [redacted]. Upon completion, we were given a paper and onstructed that in order to activate the home improvement product warranty to follow said instructions. I went on-line to activate the warranty, one MUST submit a REVIEW prior to activation of the warranty. Why do I have to review a product prior to having a warranty. Is the warranty for my reveiw or for the services rendered? Subsequently, I submitted a review in order to obtain my warranty. The warranty has not arrived via electronic mail as stated. I did send an e-mail to [redacted] and requested a copy.Desired Settlement: A copy of my home improvement product warranty for project number [redacted] and an answer as to why one must review a product in order to receive a warranty.

Review: We hired Power Home Remodeling Group (then called Power Windows & Siding) to install new windows in our home in 2010. After the installation, we were not completely satisfied with the job as the double-hung windows had only half screens when the window can be opened up or down and a slider window that was installed also had a half screen preventing it from opening from both sides as intended. On the day of installation, the installers called a manager to come to our home to resolve this issue. The manager understood the issue and promised us that they would stand by their satisfaction guarantee and provide full screens on the five windows affected at no charge. The manager told us to call at any time as long as we lived in the house to request them. The windows were installed at the end of the Summer and with Fall approaching, the lack of screens was not an issue until the next Spring. While we intended to have the screens fixed sooner, we did not call until now a few years later, which should not have been an issue given the manager's promise to us that the issue would be resolved at any time. The company is now refusing to honor the word of the manager who came to our home and wants to charge $50 per screen installation (discounted from their regular up-charge of $100 that was not disclosed to us), against the earlier promise of the manager.Desired Settlement: Our desired outcome is the installation of the full size screens on the five windows that need them at no cost as we were promised at the time of installation.

Review: I keep receiving phone calls from ###-###-#### which I found out is Power Home Remodeling. I let them give me a free roof estimate over a month ago and now they are calling my cell phone. I usually don't answer, but when I finally did, they hung up and every time they call they never leave a message.Desired Settlement: For them to stop calling me and to stop coming to my home and trying to sell me their products.

Review: In July, 2011 Power Home Remodeling Group from Pennsylvania re-sided the whole house and replaced my gutters.

The job they did was satisfactory but the workers destroyed my vegetable garden, threw cucumbers all over the yard. Destroyed the shrubs in front of the house. It looks like Godzilla did the damage.

The gentleman that came by after talked to me about the damage and offered me a $100 gift card to cover for part of the damage and also offered me an additional $25 card for a good review on Angies List. After the first rain we had leaks going down our chimney and into the garage. This caused the sheetrock to crumble and now I have Black Mold on the wall. I am looking to sell the house soon and really didn’t want any more expenses. They also had to come back 3 times to stop the leak, the last time they came and took the siding off and redid it properly. After this they continued to call me for other improvements. I kept telling them that I was not doing business with them until they fixed the problemsDesired Settlement: $100 gift card as promised and repairing the sheetrock in the garage

Review: Power Home Remodel Group installed a roof onmy house. At the time of install I noticed the installers were throwing the old shingle with nails across my skylights I mentioned it to the project mgr and a sale magr who stopped by to quote another product. I was told the warranty would cover it. They also install a vent cap for an exhaust fan. They centered it over a beam so the duct couldn't be attached. The first windy day trim blew off the side of my house. They said they use magnets to pickup nails on the ground. They didn't my SUV got a flat tire.

I called in the begining to find the proper course. I got the stall "Sorry we missed your call " ," We'll get back to you". now the sometime has past they state. You waited to long we can't be expected to cover that. They were able to stall on the report about the trim. But the, missed cut hole and the skylights were mentioned at the time of install to 2 of their employees. And should be corrected and replaced. I can also find more nails if they want me to.Desired Settlement: Replace Skylights, Recenter hole for duct access.

The trim I'll have to deal with.

and I already had my tire repaired.

Review: I received a call today from them stating that someone from their company had been in our neighborhood and seen damage to our roof from our last storm and wanted to come by and give us a price to repair or replace the roof. When I asked when they came by and what damage they saw, the caller tried to make up some story about a storm that was an obvious lie. I had my roof replaced early last summer and there is no damage to the roof. When I told them this, they hung up. I have told this company to remove me from their call list and that I am on the do not call list and that I will never do business with them because of their sales tactics but they continue to call and lie about damage to roofs on every call.Desired Settlement: I want an apology from them, I want them to stop their deceptive business practices and I want them to stop calling me.

A sales representative came to my house since I am in the market for a new roof. I just purchased my house and knew that I needed a new roof before the winter. It was a Saturday morning at 8am when he showed up for what I expected to be a quick appointment. That was not the case. After walking around my house for 45 minutes telling me he could not get a good view of the roof, he said he would need to come inside and climb into my attic, in my bedroom. This made me fairly uneasy, seeing as I am a single female homeowner. He was very aggressive and proceeded to spend 30 additional minutes in my attic taking pictures. None of which he would show me. After he climbed out of the attic he sat at my dining room table and opened his laptop to give a power point presentation. After insisting that I had other obligations and he needed to leave he kept going on with his aggressive sales pitch that was based off of scare tactics. Finally, after asking at least 10 times for a price he wrote me up an estimate for $38,000. I'm unsure if because I am a young female he thinks I am naive enough to agree to pay $38000 for a roof, or is Power Home Remodeling really that misleading of a company that they would rip people off like that. When the sales rep handed me the estimate I laughed out loud at him and told him to leave immediately. He seemed shocked by my response. I kindly informed him that in the past month I received 5 other estimates and they were all in the $8k-12k range. His response "yeah I wouldn't pay $38,000 for a roof either". If you are going to waste 3 hours of my life explaining why its worth it to pay $38000 to your company, at least stick with it the entire meeting. Down right terrible experience. I would never recommend them. I would rather do the roof myself than give them a single penny.

Two salesmen first took three hours of my time. I prefaced their pitch by saying I have been my own home before with my husband which is true. Three hours later they had the audacity to quote me $64,000 for a new roof (small) and to replace 10 windows.
I was bamboozled! Really?? I built an entire home custom home for less than $100,000. They shouldn't be allowed to steal people's money, probably of which are the elderly and women living alone!!! Furious!!!
