The installation was supposed to be done in 2 days, it's been nearly 2 months. Can't get anyone to return our calls.
The initial crew came out on Saturday, said another crew would be out on Sunday to finish the job. No crew showed up on Sunday, it was almost 2 weeks later. When they got here they were under the impression that everything was done except to hook up the box, but the box had never been installed. The wiring was wrong. The panels were placed wrong and had to be redone. We had 22 panels installed to run two buildings, they only ran to one building. Another crew came out a couple of weeks later to bury the cable lines, we still have a hole in our yard they've not covered. There's two holes in our wall that have not been repaired. When *** border came out to check the wiring, they said it was dangerous to the lineman and it all had to be redone. We have been trying to contact their customer service for four days. My husband has been on the phone with them for four hours this morning, I've been on the phone for 2 1/2 hours. I waited on hold with customer service for 30 minutes and was supposed to be the next customer, then my call was disconnected. This also happened to my husband earlier today. I have spoken with four people this morning at their main office and told each time that a supervisor would be contacting me immediately. it is now two hours and 47 minutes later and no one has ever called me back. I'm afraid if the outside wiring was wrong/dangerous that our inside wiring could also be dangerous.

Desired Outcome

I want it fixed correctly and safely. I also want the price discounted since they haven't held to their agreement.

Mr., we apologize for the frustration and inconvenience. I see we reached out to you yesterday and we are working on resolving all of your concerns. Thank you for contacting us.

Powerhome Salesman did not accurately discuss the full details of contract and did not respond to important correspondence concerning loan transaction
The salesman did not fully discuss the contract and we did not receive a written copy or go over all of the details. Received an email from loan company requesting copy of voided check to ensure lower interest rate. Contacted salesman (Andrew G) immediately and received no response. Sent additional communication to salesman to confirm prior communication and again no response. I wish to cancel the contract and purchase according to the contract I was able to finally download. Printed out contract and cancellation paperwork and it is all watermarked as copy stating "THIS IS A COPY This is a copy view of the Authoritative Copy held by the designated custodian ".
The contract was signed on 7/18/2020 at 5:19 pm and we have already contacted *** Credit Union dba *** Credit Union C/O *** 101 N Tyron St, Suite 1000, Charlotte, NC 28246.
This whole experience has left a bad impression on my wife and myself.

Desired Outcome

I want the entire contract cancelled as per their language on page 4 of 19 of our contract with no monetary obligation as we have received no goods or services yet and are requesting this within the 3 business days per the contract.

POWERHOME SOLAR Response • Jul 20, 2020

Mr., we will be reaching out to you. Thank you.

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
Thank you for you response as of this time I am no longer interested in product , the sales representative should have informed me that I probably would not get the Tax incentive , all this could have been avoided with out any hassle. I have canceled the loan and the purchase and will not deal with these people again .

Customer Service Support not available. I need service, but when I call *** I'm put in queue, wait 10+ minutes then disconnected.
I contacted PowerHome Solar weeks ago, requesting that my A/C unit be disconnected from the solar backup battery. The A/C's load depletes my stored energy (battery) to the point that when a power failure occures I have no electricity from the battery to support my house. I've called repeatedly to the *** (Opt #2) where I'm placed in a queue with a recording stating I'm called #4 (for example) with estimated wait time of 5 minutes. Well after 10+ minutes I'm next in line and then the call is disconnected. This happens over and over again, I've tried calling 6 times since yesterday with same result. I did get though once, but they transferred me to *** technicians who told me I need to get the installers from PowerHome to fix this issue, hence, I have to call the *** (Opt#2) number back and start all over again with the queue and disconnects. I need my A/C unit disconnected from the battery backup ASAP and all I'm getting is passed to the wrong department and/or disconnected while on hold with PowerHome's customer support. This is very frustrating. I feel like I can't get any help or support and last night we had a storm that knocked out my power and I had no charge left in my battery to support my home, the purpose for which I purchased the system in-the-first-place. All I want it to talk to someone, specifically told by *** to contact PowerHome and the install team. There is no email, no support contact information on PowerHomes website, ***/. I'm so disappointed and in serious need of support and help. I was promised 24/7 support and I'm not getting it.

Desired Outcome

Rewire my service panel so that the A/C is not drawing power from the solar battery backup system. Additionally, fix your call system to it stops disconnecting callers waiting in the queue.

POWERHOME SOLAR Response • Jul 20, 2020

Mr., we will be reaching out to you to rectify your concerns. Thank you.

Production is extremely low in summer when running ac even though they said it could handle it between paying for panels and electric company I am paying more than I used to just paying electric tried

POWERHOME SOLAR Response • Jul 20, 2020

Ms. we will be reaching out to address your concerns Thank you.

I have not received a response to my service request.
I am an existing customer with Power Home Solar. On July 6, 2020 I noticed that my system has not been generating power since June 18, 2020. I called them at *** and was told that they would send an email marked urgent to customer service so that someone could fix the problem. I waited four days with no response. I called again on July 9th and was again told that they would send an email to customer service and I would hear from someone within 24 hours. I was also given a number to call for customer service *** option 2. I have tried calling this number multiple times, but after a long hold it goes to voicemail and the box is full.

Desired Outcome

I would like Power Home Solar to immediately send someone to diagnose and fix the problem to get my system back up and running. I would also like to be reimbursed $5 for each day of lost power generation that my system has been down since I initially contacted them on July 6th and reported the issue.

POWERHOME SOLAR Response • Jul 09, 2020

Hi ***, I see we spoke with you tonight and are scheduling a crew to come out to assess your system. Thank you and we apologize for any inconvenience.

Customer Response • Jul 10, 2020

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
I received a call back from customer service on 7/9/20. The next day I was provided with instructions on how to recycle the system which solved the problem. As a courtesy they also sent a technician over to ensure everything was working properly. He apologized snd provided his personal cell number for any future service needs. I am happy with the resolution.

We have been trying to get someone to help us for weeks. We had panels installed 3 months ago and they are still not operational. We have come to find out that we need a wireless provider, which was never told to us. Not only are we continuing to pay for Southside electric, we are now paying for a loan on the panels. Now, in order to go solar, we need to pay another $150 per month for wireless. Our sales rep, Cash, never alluded to this. So we're paying double what we were paying for electricity, WITHOUT SOLAR, installed by POWER HOME SOLAR. We've contacted customer service numerous times only to be told someone will be in touch, no one ever gets back to us. Lawyer next, I think so.

POWERHOME SOLAR Response • Jul 24, 2020

Mr. we are going to have one of our Customer Care Representatives reach out and get this rectified. Thank you.

Solar panel installation issues resulting in electrical issues that led to basement flooding and additional water and home damage.
We had solar panels installed on our newly finished roof over a month ago on May 14, 2020. Three days after installation, we found our recently refinished basement to be entirely flooded and water damaged. Upon further evaluation, it was found that the solar panel installation crew had turned off the breaker to our sump pump. It had rained hard for the three days after installation, so the battery backup eventually ran out of power, so our basement flooded as water drained in from our sump pump area. Also, the installers knocked out another electrical connection to our breaker box, without realizing, eliminating electricity to the basement bedroom area. We had further water damage in the form of the roof leaking water down through the solar fan that was installed with the panels. It first was noticed a week after the flooding damage when water was dripping through our main floor bathroom ceiling. And now, over a month later, we were woken in the middle of the night because water coming through the roof, again, triggered the fire alarms in both our main floor and our basement to alarm falsely. There is now water running down from the solar fan, all over insulation, and dripping through the walls all the way down to our basement. We have placed numerous calls and emails to the customer service of this company, they are cordial and say they will follow-up with us on the complaint, but we have yet to hear from anyone in their company. The emotional, monetary and financial stress this company's faulty installation has placed on our family is completely unnecessary and needs to be addressed immediately. Our company contact, Andrew L, located in North Carolina, will be getting another call in the morning to also see if he can point us to someone to assist in resolving these issues. After all this distress and home damage, the solar panels aren't even connected and running at this time. Just poor customer service, installation, and follow-up on this business's part.

Desired Outcome

Repair all faulty installation issues and provide adequate compensation for all damages incurred due to the faulty installation of the product.

we reached out to you today via email in regards to coming out to access your concerns about your system. Please message us back via that email or call us at your earliest convenience. Thank you.

PowerHome's advertisement stated that a battery back up was included. I received everything, except the battery back up, which was to be included.
Generac Solar system.

Desired Outcome

Receive battery back up and have installed properly as advertised. I have contacted them several times, only to be ignored.

They called me, and says they still are not going to honor their advertisement. I do believe that false advertising is still against the law, and should be addressed accordingly. Any assistance you can give me will be appreciated.

POWERHOME SOLAR Response • Jul 01, 2020

Mr., our batteries are not free. We apologize for any inconvenience or confusion. Our assistant manager will be reaching out to you to go over options for adding a battery to your system if you would like.

Customer Response • Jul 01, 2020

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Powerhome is not being held liable for their advertisement. I will have to seek legal advise, and probably sue for false advertising.

We did not have the same experience as described by some of these reviews. We had their sales person Derrick A come to our house and describe their solar system to my 86 year old father and convinced him that his monthly payments would be less for the system then our electric bill. This was the case for 3 months of the year, but overall it would cost more per year. Also, be careful when they give you a price, the price they tell you is based on you giving them the Tax Credit back withing 18 months, but you have to read the paperwork very carefully, but they gave my Dad the lower price, knowing that he was not eligible for the Tax Credit because he does not pay taxes on what he makes from Social Security. When we asked about canceling they told us we could cancel up to 45 days, but after we signed paperwork found out that it was actually 3 days.

We called the same night and asked them to cancel the contract at which point Derrick's supervisor called for the "hard sale" and he was told we wanted to cancel as well. The next we told them again we wanted to cancel and would like to get some sort of verification, to which we never received any sort of reply. The 2nd day after we received a call to try and schedule the installation. At this point we asked to cancel again and we finally received an email stating the following;

"I see that you are unfortunately wanting to cancel. I am sorry to hear that. I hope we did everything you hoped for and hope we did a good job of showing you how you save money switching to solar.
I will pass this cancel request to our resolution-cancellation team. We need a couple of things in order to cancel, primarily due to the cancellation requirements of the lending institutions and to freeze project processing.
First, we need the cancellation form in your paperwork signed and either mailed or emailed to us . If you mail it to us it must be POST MARKED by the third business day of your agreement. We highly suggest that you send this in a manner that is TRACKABLE. (Our address is ***
Second, I will need to have one of our managers call you regarding this matter and get the information about and for the cancel.
Also note if you are past the three day right to rescind, it may be necessary for you to reimburse us for any charges we may have incurred up to this point (line drawings, permits applied for, loan fees, and etc)."

The cancellation document states it can be emailed, but they do not elude to that they suggest if it is not post marked by the 3rd day which they ignored us for 2 of those days we could be responsible for fees. I just feel like the whole process was handled poorly and no one there was honest and upfront. Buyer Beware, but I would be careful, understand their policies, and don't trust their math!

POWERHOME SOLAR Response • Jun 29, 2020

This has been canceled. We confirmed this with your father last week. We do apologize for any inconveniences. Thank you.

Customer Response • Jul 01, 2020

I understand it was canceled, but this doesn't change the way that you do business. The details in my review are factual and not the way to conduct business.

POWERHOME SOLAR Response • Jul 14, 2020

We are sorry to hear your experience has been less than satisfactory and that you will not be going solar with us. Best wishes to you and your family.

I'm getting ready to pay my third double payment. My solar payment alone is $369.06 My Aep runs high $300's with this heat it will be Much more this month! My sales person Dalton will not respond or help at all! I have spoke to one person no help. I spoke to customer service her responds makes me feel as if she's heard this story many times. I asked to speak to a supervisor she told me she's at lunch I will have her call you back. Not one person has called me back. I'm sick about this! I haven't saved the first dine!

The team that came to my house was very nice.

I had nothing but problems with PowerHomes. On the first day of the install, one of the workers drilled a 2-inch hole through my siding into our master bathroom. They advised me they would replace the siding and fix the drywall the next time they came out, which could be up to 2 weeks! Who doesn't want rain inside their home, I asked? I checked my basement to see if I had a piece of siding leftover from when we had our house built. Luckily I did and they replaced the siding that day. As they were cleaning up for the day one of the workers stacked five panels on top of one another. I saw him drop the last one on top of the rest of them. He didn't lay it down gently treating it like it was a $40,000 system, he dropped it like a piece of plywood. The pieces were scratched, I didn't know if they were broken. I approached the foreman and told him of the issue. He apologized and advised me that if any of the panels are broken you can see that on the app after the install is complete and that the panels would be covered under the warranty.
On the second install day, one of their employees fell off our roof, thankfully he was okay and wearing a tag-line! However, he did cause $1,200 worth of damage. I called nearly every day to try and get ahold of someone to schedule a time to have someone fix my deck and gutters. They told me it was going to take at least 2 weeks for someone to call, then 2 more weeks for someone to actually come out. I requested to do the work myself since it was going to take them so long to fix it. They said they would have to ask the "head of customer service". It took 2 weeks to get a response! That was after I called a local manager, yelled at her, and told her that I was writing this review and seeking legal counsel. She did hang up on me, rightfully so. However, come Monday, since they don't work weekends, all of my questions were answered. They said they would reimburse me the $1,200 worth of damage and that the service department would call me to troubleshoot why the panels weren't working. Customer service called later that afternoon. They couldn't figure it out so they gave me the number to ***'s customer service. *** discovered that there was a chip that wasn't installed or was improperly installed and someone would have to come out to fix it.
Prior to all of this, I waited 2 weeks for the "MASTER INSPECTOR" to come out after the install was complete to make sure the system was properly set up. He never showed up! I received an email congratulating me that the inspection passed. I called and asked about it. They told me the "master inspector" looked at photos from the install crew and approved it and that nobody was coming out. Apparently they missed the most important part. The chip that allows the solar panels and the powercell, which controls the entire system, weren't communicating. The PowerHome technician gave me her direct phone line and told me to call back if I had any issues. When I called the phone number the call could not be completed, even 4 days later she still can't be reached. I had to wait until Monday to call and schedule someone to come out, yet AGAIN! This is the 2nd time someone was scheduled to come out and never did. So now I'm waiting for another week and the issues still aren't resolved.
Due to their lack of concern about fixing the problem, I'm going to have to pay the loan for the solar panels, plus an electric bill that shows I didn't produce any electricity. Customer service was not willing to help push back the first payment of the solar panels so I wouldn't have two big bills to pay. Thanks a lot, PowerHome. Unfortunately, *** is associated with this terrible company. I'm sure the products are great but PowerHome is a terrible company. I'll be contracting any services needed to a different company so I never have to deal with PowerHome Solar again! I hope I said enough for you NOT to go with PowerHomes.

POWERHOME SOLAR Response • Jul 14, 2020

Mr., we will be reaching out to you.

Company was great all the way through to final inspection on the solar panels and the loan is put through. After that they fail to keep you updated as to when solar panels can be used. Currently panels where installed three weeks ago and I am accruing interest on the loan and paying energy bills. Power Home can't tell me when I can start using the panels and I have to keep calling to get a status as they do not respond to email very well.

POWERHOME SOLAR Response • Jul 14, 2020

Mr., we are sorry to hear your experience has been less than satisfactory. We are looking into this matter to see how we can best address your concerns. Thank you.

This is the 3rd time they have scheduled an appointment with me and called that day stating due to conflicting engagements they can not make it.
I made an appointment for the first time for powerhome solar to come out it was all fine they called and canceled due to conflicting engagement the morning of the appointment. So we rescheduled the second appointment for a few days later. They call again an hour before the appointment stating they can not make it due to conflicting engagements. So gave them a 3rx chance got a call 1 minute before they where to arrive stating he can not make due to conflicting engagement. I called him out on it as he was talking he stated he be willing to do a zoom meeting I stated no then he stated well I left you a message yesterday no he did not a text nope you did not then it must of been an email nope wrong again. He or powerhome solar did not notify me at all so he was lying to cover his tracks. I told him to forget the whole thing. I then called the powerhome solar company to speak to a manager or supervisor oh no one is on duty it is only 2:05pm eastern standard time. Really what kind of company is this?

Desired Outcome

To come out and fulfill the appointment on date and time stated if they are a legitimate company

POWERHOME SOLAR Response • Jun 12, 2020

Mr., we deeply apologize and will have someone reach out to you. Thank you for making us aware.

No response to service call. Constant push off of "we'll call back with a service ticket," then no response
We have had solar panels with this company for several years. We have recently run into an issue where an electrician discovered that they incorrectly and dangerously wired our panels to the breaker box. We have tried to call several times to have someone come out and have had zero response. They have made no effort to look into a power decrease with some of the panels and have not responded to come and fix the issue to the breakers. Poor electrical work has caused issues with our cooktop since these wires were incorrectly installed. It is negligent and we would just like to have them repaired.

Desired Outcome

Please respond to calls and actually come out to provide service/repair to our installation

POWERHOME SOLAR Response • Jun 10, 2020

Our Customer Care Department has reached and id getting a service ticket created to assist. Thank you.

Top notch group! To every one on the team: THANKS FOR YOUR MILITARY SERVICE! Thanks, also, for working so hard! What a great experience having you guys installing my SOLAR!

POWERHOME SOLAR Response • Jun 07, 2020

We appreciate your kind words,*** We hope you enjoy your new solar panels and look forward to your system being put into operation.

We were promised a 30% tax refund that had to be turned over to the loan company within 18 months. We are not getting anything for a tax return.
We were told that we would get 30% refund in our taxes based on the $45,000 price tag of the solar panels and the refund of $13,000 would need to be repaid to the loan company by 18 months of the install. Our accountant did our taxes and that is not how it works at all. So now we are left with a bill that's higher then we can pay.

Desired Outcome

We would like the company to make right in what they promised. We can not afford the higher rate for the panels. The panels may need to be removed and my house/roof put back the way it was.

POWERHOME SOLAR Response • May 28, 2020

Hi ***, we will reach out to address your concerns about the tax credit.

This company came in with false promises. There are many issues with installations. Also destroyed lawn. No communication back.
The company came in stating these where top of the line solar panels. When they came in they completely tore up the yard. There are several pictures videos and drone footage showing the damage. Had to call several times for someone to come out. They finally sent someone out to bring in a few small bags of dirt which did nothing. The yard was flat before they came. They reassured us during installation that it would be fixed. It is becoming a liability as family members keep falling from the ruts in the yard from this installation. We have made numerous attempts to get someone out here. We have sent pictures and videos several times to this company. The representative came out today (05/26/2020) to patch the drywall from installation. We informed him that the solar panels are bowed and one of the panels is shattered already and they where installed on ***. We have drone footage of them being bowed and damaged.

Desired Outcome

We need the yard brought back to the condition it was before installation. We need the solar panels reinstalled properly so there is no bowing. You can see that these panels where improperly installed. Fix the solar panels that are already damaged. The site is clear from anything that could potentially hit them. This is pure installation error or product structure. If this is not resolved within a timely manner we will go to the media as this is a risk to our family. This system costs around $50,000 there is no reason to go through this.
