The salesman that came to my house lied about the product and the savings I could expect.I
I met the salesman in my home march of 2019. He told me that the system would produce enough electricity that my new cost to *** would be around $20.00 dollars a month. I made a decision based on his misguided information to borrow $45,000 dollars to purchase the system because I was convinced that I could pay for the solar panel with the payments I was already making to*** energy. After they installed the system on my roof, my energy bill did not change enough to make a big difference as the salesman had convince me it would. I called *** and they told me that I didn't have enough panels and I need to contact Power Home Solar to request more panels. When I contacted Power Home Solar they told me that I needed to talk to the same Salesman that got me into this mess, When I talked to him he was still trying to tell me the same lie as he did at first and he could not do anything. I went back to the company and realized that they were standing behind the salesman and backing him. Now I need more panels and They are not giving them to me. I paid too much for the panels that are not worth anything to me and I refuse to give them more money for more panels. Now I am left with two bills that I am stuck with and they are doing nothing to help me out. They ask me for and old*** energy bill and a new one and I have sent both to them and they have done nothing for me.

Desired Outcome

I just want them to put enough panels on my roof to align with the promse ore just give me a refund and let me get someone else. I paid 45,000 dollares

We *** have someone reach out and address your production. Thank you.

We were promised 30% refund or rebate from taxes but received $176 form refund.
When we bought this they promised us guaranteed us that we would get a 30% refund from the government for buying this. It was a lot less and that it was and even I 1% refund from the government they totally lied that's how we let him in a house because they showed us that did government was giving 10% yeah 11% back on what you were buying only this year and it was stressed only this year and they put a lot of pressure on us to get this and then they said once we got our money back from the government we could put it toward the bill and they would lower the amount we owed and they would adjust the interest rates of then it would be down a lot less than what we're paying now but as it is the interest rate is going to go up and we're going to pay a lot more for it because we can't pay the 11000 or 13000 that we were going to get.

Desired Outcome

Refund the 30%

PowerHome Solar is not recommended. I signed a contract for solar panels back last year, no panels have been installed to date! Of course I still get collection calls for payments for panels I do not have. This company misled us as to what to expect from rebates to installation timelines. Do Not Recommend dealing with this company. I called customer service only to be transferred to scheduling transferred and transferred.

Thank you for reviewing us, ***! We appreciate you choosing POWERHOME!

Power Home Solar sold us a to small number of panels to make a difference in our power bill. We were lied to from the start. No solar at all produced
We were lied to to start with. The lady that sold us our solar was told by owner of home that if we weren't going to see a savings on our light bill she could get up and leave. She stated to me oh no Mr *** you will see it will cut your light bill in half. Liar. They did not tighten a box install under panels and it rained for two week roof leaked through metal roof and messed up ceiling panels in office. They repaired that. Then they removed our thermostat from our wall and put up a nest thermostat. It wasn't compatible with our heater and air conditioner. I called them and told them to come back and replace our thermostat. They said they threw it away. I called a air conditioner company to come put up what we had it cost me $240.00. When I called PHS and told them we weren't seeing any solar being produced they said we had to few of panels to make a difference. I told them that's what their engineers said we needed and we relied on their expertise. They wanted to come back out and install 5 more panels at my expense. I told them no. We called Duke Energy and asked them to come out and check. They did and they told us what PHS told us there was to few of panels to make any solar. We were suppose to get a reimbursement from Duke Energy. When we didn't we called them to see why. They told us they never received the certificate from PHS stating we had solar so therefore their money had run out so we were out of luck. This is so not fair. I asked them to come remove panels and repair my roof and tear up contract ,they asked me was panels paid for I told them no. They said they could not come out and remove panels until they were paid for. They ripped me off and I want something done about it please. This is unethical and illegal.

Desired Outcome

I want them to come take panels of roof, repair roof and tear up contract or put up enough panels at their cost to produce enough solar to reduce my light bill as promised.

They know that the system is not working right they are just stalling for time they need to get with electric company and fix the problem. They are just playing games the system cost me over 21 thousand dollars and my electric bills are higher than they were before I got solar panels

POWERHOME SOLAR Response • Jun 03, 2020

They have not done anything yet I need to see it happen first so far all I heard was talk I'm not sure it's going to do any good anyway. We'll have to wait and see.

POWERHOME SOLAR Response • Jun 26, 2020

We are working on a design revision for Mr ***. Once he approves, we'll be ready to proceed forward with the panel addition.

Power Home Solar (PHS) installed solar panels on our house in August of 2019. The panels were not functioning until Feb. 25, 2020.
1. The installation failed inspection by Chesterfield County.
2. There was a trench dug in our yard that was left rough and unfinished.
3. The wire that is running under the house was left laying in the ground instead of being hung.
4. The person who was in our electrical box shorted out a wire and taped it without telling us. We later discovered that he had shorted out the wires to our air conditioning unit. Sylvia heard the sound and asked if he was okay and he said yes. He did not say what he had done. It was discovered later.
5. The sheetrock was left undone in our laundry room where the electrical panel box is.
6. the panels were installed on a roof that will have to be replaced. We were not told that we would have to pay to have them removed and replaced at a cost of $10,000 in the event we repalced the roof.

Desired Outcome

We would like to be released from the contract and have PHS remove the panels at no cost to us. We do not have faith in this company because of the above mentioned issues. Because this is dealing with our electric system, we feel unsafe. There has beeb a lot of stress and tension since we dealt with them We asked early on that it be removed and was told no. We asked because we lost trust after experiencing the way things were left after the installation. Later, when it failed inspection, that added to our concerns.

We were told that we would be producing an average of 2000 kwh per month and we have not produced anywhere near this in over 6 months.
We were guaranteed by our sales rep that we would produce an average of 2000 kwh per month and have not produced that in total since they finally got everything switched on. We have contacted the company through customer service and have even contacted the CEO with either no response more often than not, calling them multiple times per week or messages saying they'll get back to us which they never do. They tore up our yard during installation and did not bother to reseed as they promised. We are only making enough power to take care of 1-2 days per month total, and they even suggested that it was poor placement (it isn't they are in a perfect spot and THEY chose the spot) They do not answer their phone and did not show up for their appointment THEY finally scheduled with no follow up, nothing.

Desired Outcome

We want our yard fixed or compensation to do it, and we want the refund of the monthy bills we have been paying on this that they PROMISED once they bothered to resolve our issues. We want the problem fixed, whatever that problem turns out to be. We either want a refund of the deposit, or they can keep it and install a battery. We feel we have been scammed and are being avoided and they are costing us exponentially more money than they promised to save us. They have lied, wasted and continue wasting our time and our patience is wearing very thin. We can take it to court or this company can start behaving with some integrity. We will never recommend them unless they can fix their issues and treat our buisiness as a priority and respect the warranty on their faulty craftsmanship, and even then I cannot assume that I could recommend them in good faith to people because if we have to demand they do what they promised with ultimatums, why should we believe they'd treat anyone else any better without the same headache?

Power home promised significant change in power bill. Our power bill is the same as before.
Power home sales rep promised our power bill would be so low that even with loan payment we would be paying less. I have complained to them. First they offered me $1500. Then they offered me more panels and no money. But to get any of this I had to sign settlement. I did not feel settled. I got nothing! Oh yeah, they told me whole time was a shade problem. Before installation they did google search from above and did not see a problem. They told me it was a shade problem even when the problem was the thermostat they installed. Shade is their answer for all complaints. Power home did not do what the sales people promise!

Desired Outcome

I wish very much for power home to come get these panels off my roof. I want no more loan. I want at least half of the money I have paid on loan this far so that I can afford to have my roof repaired after removal.

POWERHOME SOLAR Response • Feb 13, 2020

We have discussed with Mrs. several times that we are working to try to resolve their issues. In April of 2019, we offered them 14 additional panels and $3000 for inconveniences. She refused that offer. In June of 2019, a crew was also sent to the home to make sure that the equipment and the panels were working correctly. No issues with the system were found. We requested utility bills from the time the system was installed to the present and the bills were just recently received. However they are incomplete. We tried to get the utility company to go out and check everything. The utility company mentioned it did not see any errors on their end and they can only send a technician if they can see an issue. Therefore, we have no evidence that the utility company has inspected its equipment, which could be contributing to the problem. We have done everything to try to help this customer.

Customer Response • Feb 15, 2020

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
When I first voiced my concerns to power home they offer to cut down my and my neighbor's trees. Then they offered me $1500. Then they offered me 9 more panels. Each time I was to sign a settlement agreement. Which I did not feel comfortable signing. Power home did make an appointment to come check panels. However they called and cancelled appointment. They said everything was fine. I sent my utility bills last year when they requested. I have not sent them anything since. My power bills are the same or more since panels were installed. During the summer my utility bills are somewhat lower, but not enough to make up for the $225 a month loan payment. I am willing to accept the $3000 and more panels. However I am not willing to sign a settlement until I see my power bills change. I will settle if the panels are removed, the loan is removed and they reimburse noless than half of the loan payments made to now so that I can fix my roof.

Customer Response • Feb 28, 2020

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I would like additional time to consult a lawyer.

Purchased a solar panel system to get out of paying high utility bills. The panels have not produced according to our contract.
The company continues to keep us from taking it to litigations, and refuses to meet our requirements to resolve the issue of not producing according to our contract. Plus we have obsolete panels that are only seven months old, but are no longer being manufactured. We paid $31,000 for a solar system that doesn't work to meet requirements of our contract

Desired Outcome

Since the solar panels have not produced according to our contract, I'm requesting a full refund of the loan amount and the panels be removed from our property.

POWERHOME SOLAR Response • Feb 13, 2020

The Customer's panels are producing but somewhat less than the contract estimate due to an apparent minor shading issue. PHS is offering to install free of charge 6 additional panels (the same panels in the contract) to bring the system in compliance with the contract estimated production, but the customer is requesting that all the panels be replaced with a different type panel as well as the six additional panels. It appears the Customer thinks that other panels (now available through PHS) are superior to those he selected in the Contract and which are no longer sold by PHS. Further, the basis of the Customer's request for these other panels appears to be that if one of current panels broke due to a wind event (which is highly unlikely) that the Customer could not replace the panels with an identical make model. The Customer's request to install all new and different panels would require PHS to disassemble the entire system and start a complete new installation. The request also ignores that fact that no matter what panels PHS installs a manufacturer might discontinue an exact model and start production of another model. The Customer's request is not a reasonable request to fix the issue, which is only a minor shading issue. PHS has located six matching panels which are the panels in the contract, but the customer is refusing the installation and not allowing PHS to cure/fix the issue per the contract with the Customer. PHS is being denied its contractual right to repair/fix. PHS is also offering to locate additional matching panels for the Customer to store in the highly unlikely event a panel broke. PHS is also offering to make the customers loan payments while the system is being monitored after the 6 additional panels are installed to ensure the system meets the contract estimates in addition to loan payments which have already been made by PHS for the lost production time up to this point.

Customer Response • Feb 13, 2020

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Now they are claiming a shading issue. The panels are obsolete their attorney has contacted me stating that the panels are not obsolete it's only because they have switch companies to provide their panels. Everytime I speak to the company they have a different excuse I've already caught them up in lies about the panels being obsolete now they say that the panels are not available because they switch companies that provide the panels for them but the diagram in which I can submit shows that the panels they are wanting to add additional 6 panels are the same manufacturer as the panels I have now so therefore that is a lie from the business

POWERHOME SOLAR Response • Feb 19, 2020

We've reached an agreement with Mr.. We will be adding 8 additional panels and covering 6 of his loan payments for his inconveniences.

Customer Response • Feb 19, 2020

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
They are wanting us to sign a release witchwood release them from any further liability responsibility for any issues with our solar panels. They want the release signed before the additional panels are installed we do not agree to this and I am not signing a release until I know that the panels are producing according to our contract at this time we request they remove their panels from our yard and give a full refund of the loan

POWERHOME SOLAR Response • Feb 25, 2020

We were able to come to an agreement with Mr. and Mrs.. We will be processing forward adding 8 additional panels and covering 6 loan payments. We thank them for being POWERHOME Customers.
