Great, ***! Thank you for sharing. We're glad that all went well for you.

Great customer service. As to the crew, it took about 8 months from start to finish due to many inspections that we had to go through but they did the job right and panels are up and running, no issues. At the same time, we were getting frequent updates from customer service coordinator about the progress and it seemed this helped the whole process to go smoothly and eased my worries about the progress.

We are pleased you are happy. Thank you for the positive review, ***. We hope you enjoy your new solar panels.

Was promised by salesman and his supervisor that if our solar panels ever needed to be removed, reinstalled for any reason PHS wouldn't charge for it!
Was promised by salesman and his supervisor that if our solar panels ever needed to be removed and reinstalled for any reason PHS wouldn't charge for that service! The salesman has since left the company but has provided an email to me ( that I forwarded to PHS customer service manager) stating that free removal and reinstalling was promised and was the policy when we bought our system! PHS refuses to provide this to me at no charge. They started at $5000 for this service and then lowered it to $3000. They at first said that if I got a written confirmation from the salesman saying that that is what I was promised that they would provide this service for free but change their mind and insisted that we pay them $3000. We have had nothing but problems with Power Home Solar since we signed the original contract and paid them almost $28,000. This has been nothing but a nightmare company to do business with. After talking with a local Solar company I found out that this has been done before. Another one of their customers had the same promise from Power Home Solar but they would not for fill that promise for them either. Their failure to remove and replace the solar panels at no charge is holding up Tearing down and rebuilding our garage. If power home solar is not willing to do this work free of charge as promised then they need to pay another company to do it at no cost to us!

Desired Outcome

If power home solar is not willing to do this work free of charge as promised then they need to pay another company to do it at no cost to us! Since we have had so much Trouble with the installation crews I would prefer that another company remove and replace the solar panels at Power Home Solar's expense.

When we spoke to Mr., we explained that there is a charge for a lift and pull and we cannot do this for no charge.
We've requested some written correspondence between him and the sales rep regarding this job being done for no charge. Mr. sent along a screen shot of a former employee texting him incorrect information that we could do lift and pull for no charge. The person giving Mr. this information has not worked for Power Home for some time.
When asked if he had something in writing regarding the lift and pull for no charge, he said he did not. We offered him a reduced price for the pull and lift and said he would think about and get back to us.
Mr. was made aware if he hire's another company to do a lift and pull, this *** void his warranty. This is stated in his contract. As explained to Mr., we need something that shows he was promised the lift and pull would be done for no charge.

The service manager that I spoke to along with the service rep told me that if I provided something from***, my salesman and representative of PowerHome Solar, saying that he told me and my wife that when we either needed to replace our roof that PowerHome Solar would remove and replace them at no charge to us. I offered to forward the text but they only had an email address so I took a snapshot of it and emailed it to them. After they got that they offered to do the work at a reduced price of $3000. I gave them what they asked for but they still would not honor what their salesman who was working for them when he said that power home solar would remove and reinstall the panel so that no roofers tore up the panels. I do not feel that if power home solar representatives are going to the lie when confronted with the Revdex.com then why should I trust them to remove and reinstall my panels? They are not keeping their word on anything squash it I expect them to do any warranty work for me should the need arise? Power home solar is acting like hit is been many years since this employee work for them but that is not true. He definitely was working for them when he made the statement and then sent the text message to me explaining that he and his supervisor both knew that that was the policy when I bought my system. Please contact me if the Revdex.com needs to talk to*** Because he said that he would gladly talk to any one at the Revdex.com or the North Carolina attorney generals office. I do not except the explanation that they gave and I really don't like for them trying to blackmail me because of my #Warranty!

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I was contacted by a representative from Power Home Solar who I have had dealings with in the past. His name is ***. He advised me that they would not resolve this issue unless I would agree to allowing them to install a new roof on my new garage using one of their installers. That is the only way they will keep their promise of pulling and replacing our solar panels for no charge to us. He told me that they would take an additional $500 off of the cost which would bring it to $2500. He then informed me that he was turning this situation over to Elizabeth T who represents Power Home Solar as their attorney. I have not heard from Mrs. T but my wife and I are not willing to except the $2500 cost. Mr. Caban said that people lie about what they were told by their salesman all the time basically accusing us of lying about the fact that we were told up front that there will be no charge for this service of removing and replacing our solar panels. He also said that at no time did our salesman ever tell us that this would be a free service. I offered again to send him A copy of the text that*** harris our salesman sent to me saying that we were told that that was the policy when we bought our system. We do not except the $2500 cost!

I want this complaint to be left open until there is some resolution from the Power Home Solar attorney. We do not expect there to be any resolution but I do not want to close this complaint until the attorney has a chance to try to work it out. Do not close this case out!

My *** was suppose to be 30$ to 80$ a month. I never saw it. My system was suppose to make 80% of my electricity. I never saw it
After a year of owning the system and making loan payments I contacted Powerhome Solar. Aug 17th, call number one. Spoke with Tia W who said if the system was working they would fix it. Refereed me Max G, the person who sold me the system. He never called me and never returned my phone calls. Contacted Tia who said she would talk to him. One month later I contacted Rhyad J who requested my inverter information so she could see what my inverter was doing. Phone calls and emails to her went unanswered. One month later I called and emailed Tia and received nothing in return. It is now November 27th and I am still calling customer service and leaving messages and no one is calling me back let alone helping me. My electricity bill is 250$ a month, copies which I have sent to them. Coupled with my loan payment is over 500$ a month. Without solar my electricity bill was 350$ a month. I am out thousands of dollars in over paying for this service. I have spoke with Mosaic on the procedure to cancel my loan. My patience is spent. Do not do business with this company.

Desired Outcome

They either fix this system and or do what they need to do within the next two weeks or I am cancelling my contract with them.

POWERHOME SOLAR Response • Dec 03, 2019

We reach out to Mr. to address these concerns. We are going to monitor his system until the end of the year and reevaluate in January.

Fraudulent charges and duplicate loans , poor workmanship, poor management and incorrect information at sales on set.
Every aspect of this process with Powerhome Solar and Roofing has been a nightmare. Unfiled paperwork to the utility company delayed my connection twice due to someone "forgetting". Pricing for solar mysteriously changed and term when roof was added to the job. Yes I signed it without reading it because I was told it was the same and just another lender (this is how they produced two loans as well). I signed my original paperwork in early July my solar power was not producing to the utility company until mid October. Mounds of trash "beer bottles, lunch debris, new material and old material was hidden in my neighbors' yard from roofing contractors then my yard as well even after they had been back to my home twice to clean up even inspected by "Foreman/boss" . Solar installation had its errors too: mis-calculated lay-out (caused extra holes to be drilled in roof, fixed with caulk) and now panels are not lined up, of course they had me sign the paperwork before I was able to "inspect it". Then they came back and "drew up" and amendment to the drawing and had me sign it, knowing this was another screw-up . Roofing was incomplete and poor and old material was used rather than the new I was promised and charged for and misfiled paperwork to my insurance several times for roofing damage claim. I am getting late notices from a creditor that they were originally going to use and never cancelled. So they have two loans taken out in my name and credit, which means they were paid 2X from both of these loans. My credit has plummeted due to the credit being ran way too many times. I have 13 notices where the credit was ran in one evening and has been ran several times since and now a delinquent loan. Warranty's are not what I was promised nor are the rebates. I cannot wait for the next problem to arise from this company.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
We discussed monetary compensation only. I find the clauses that have been added and not agreed to by me or even discussed with me, not at all suiting and very self serving benefiting Powerhome only. The poor workmanship and negligence is one of the many issues with this complaint and it would behoove me to agree to absolve Powerhome of any of their liabilities and warranties especially considering that the contractors performing the work were under the influence of alcohol, as stated in this proposed resolution, for their poor workmanship, poor practices and negligence. I will not agree to any settlement amount without transferable labor at a minimum 10 years and transferable product warranty both in writing then we can discuss a monetary compensation. I have asked for the warranty documentation that is supposed to be provided to me per the contract several times and as in the past this request has been ignored. I do not want anyone else to suffer through this companies poor behavior and practices.
I am of course still open to have Powerhome remove/repair at their expense and absorb the debt. Compensation for credit and other damages as well as my time. Written apology to my neighbor as well as compensation to him for the garbage removal that he and I spent over 2 hours cleaning up, that was dumped in his yard by roof contractors.

I have had messages on my voice mail to call back, I refuse to play phone tag and the contact person has changed and changed back I believe.
I have sent an email to the person that emailed the proposed settlement asking she forward to appropriate contacts to email their detailed responses/proposals to avoid the settlement clause additions or terms being added afterward, and eliminate just leaving messages to call back. I have not been notified of these contacts email addresses just various phone numbers. I have not received any response to my email.
Update: The generation of power from the solar panels has yet again under produced what I was promised by Powerhome.
I have reached out to several experts in the field and I am being advised this transaction and my concerns definitely warrant investigation, inspections for correction/compensation by Powerhome to me. I am open to a new proposal that meets or exceeds my original complaint and responses and forego inspections/investigations and other complaints.

I have also requested that the generation of my solar be repaired to preform to the capacity that I was promised under warranty.
I received an email 12/23/19 stating "Let me see what we can do." Therefore, I am waiting for a satisfactory response to my email(s).

The agreement/settlement has been edited to my satisfaction. The agreement has been signed by all parties and I am closing this complaint.

Solar panels are generating the amount of power as promised. Have had previous contact where they agreed power created was not as promised.
Our solar panels were installed in October if 2018. I complained that I was not getting the promised output. They asked that I wait 3 months to complain. In February of 2019 they gave me a check for 3 months of loan payments and agreed the promised power was not being created and thought it was due to weather. After one year we are still paying a $150 electric bill and a $200 loan payment. From our agreement my electric bill should have dropped to $50 or less. Seems like they just did not install enough panels. They originally financed me for 29 panels then installed 17 then refunded the price of 12 panels saying that 17 would be enough, but it isn't. I have since called, emailed and posted on their social media with no response. We also never received the promised LED bulb, water heater cover.

Desired Outcome

Clearly more panels need added to create the needed power or they can pay off the remainder of the note.

POWERHOME SOLAR Response • Nov 25, 2019

Mr., we'll have someone reach out to address these concerns. Thank you.

Backup battery is not working.
Powerhome solar came out on Sep 21 to install panels and backup battery. Two months later we are finally able to turn on the system and our system is not working properly. The battery is not charging or communicating with the inverter. I called and was told it takes 2 weeks for someone to call me to have someone come look at it. Due to the malfunction im not really saving on my electric bill.

Desired Outcome

Fix the problem

Solar panels are generating the amount of power as promised. Have had previous contact where they agreed power created was not as promised.
Our solar panels were installed in October if 2018. I complained that I was not getting the promised output. They asked that I wait 3 months to complain. In February of 2019 they gave me a check for 3 months of loan payments and agreed the promised power was not being created and thought it was due to weather. Lied to by sales rep; attempt to collect funds for project that should not have been worked on.
We initially received a quote in September for a solar project for our house. Our sales representative assured me over the phone that PowerHome Solar GUARANTEES that our panels will produce 100% or more of the electricity we would need for at least 30 years. I signed the contract, but later found out that my signature was invalid because I am not on the deed of the house, only my husband is. They continued to work on this behind the scenes without a contract signed by him. He finalized a contract with them on 10/27. On 10/31, we received a call to confirm that we understood that the project would only produce 82% of our power. At this point we showed an interest to cancel, calling to confirm that the following day and ultimately sending over a signed request to cancel on 11/1. They ignored this request and continued with interconnection applications. I sent multiple emails to multiple people informing them to please stop working on this project as it was being cancelled. I received no further communication. On 11/20 I received an email stating that at this point we would be responsible for any expenses incurred as a result of our project. On 11/21 they informed us that the amount of those expenses totaled $5900. First off, they should not have been working on this project without signed approval from my husband, and secondly they continually ignored my requests to cancel. They are now threatening to send us to collections for this $5900 for expenses incurred as a result of their own incompetence.

Desired Outcome

I would like to know that the contract has been fully cancelled with no repercussions held against me or my husband.

The first contract signed was on *** 20, 2019. It's 3 days to cancel.
The revised contract was signed. September 27, 2019.
At customer request, a 3rd contract was adjusted for a name change and on October 27, 2019 was finalized. Mr. and Mrs. canceled on October 31, 2019. 4 days after the 3rd contract.
It's 3 days to cancel. Even though revisions were made to their contract, after the 3-day window we already had the process in motion... ***, Permitting, Interconnections etc. costs have incurred. Mr. and Mrs. were made aware of the costs incurred as stated in the contract. These costs all stem back to the first contract signed.

No work should have begun on the project until the legally responsible party (homeowner; person whose name is on the DEED of the home) signed a contract. This did not happen until October 27, 2019.

POWERHOME SOLAR Response • Dec 06, 2019

This project had been in progress for since September. The fees *** need to be paid.

Again, the project should not have been in process until the homeowner signed off on it, which did not happen until October 27.

Powerhome will not repair the damage that they caused to our skylight on July 7, 2018
Powerhome replaced our shingles back on July 7, 2018. The roofers were careless and slammed piles of shingles on our skylight, causing damage. Ever since, every time it rains, our skylight leaks. We have been in constant contact with Chris W about the damage. We have sent him pictures of the roofers damaging the skylight and the leaks. They refuse to repair the skylight and it's been over a year with constant leaks.

Desired Outcome

We would like our damaged skylight replaced or fixed to where it doesn't leak as soon as possible. This has been going on way too long!

We have tried to get this worked out by Mr. in the past, and he refuses to contact me back. Somebody else in the company should work this out since Mr. isn't going to. This problem has been going on way too long. Our ceiling is ruined because of it. Our HOA management has been trying to get Mr. to repair it for over a year.

POWERHOME SOLAR Response • Dec 03, 2019

Some one from Power Home Solar will be reaching out to the HOA tomorrow regarding this issue and getting a service ticket created to address this situation.

Customer Response • Dec 04, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Why open a ticket with the HOA? This has nothing to do with the HOA. This has to do with Power Home not doing repairs that they caused. I have still yet to get an answer why the repair is taking well over a year. Mr. is supposed to come and look at it, but the damage is already done. There's rust on the metal ceiling of the sunporch. If there's rust there, there's no telling what the severity of the damage is inside the ceiling. This is totally unacceptable. And the actions of Power Home is unacceptable.

I'll be satisfied if Powerhome sticks with the appointment and fix all of the repairs. If not, I will be asking that this case gets reopened.
