PowerHome Solar and Roofing does not want to live up to its Solar Energy System Purchase & Installation Agreement (AGREEMENT) of October 16, 2019.
The AGREEMENT indicates a net contract price of $***, as an a "bad news" email on October 21, the new price is $*** higher for a total of $***. This is an increase of 25%. In a verbal discussion and email on the next day, I indicated my thoughts. I am requesting that an officier of the company review this and have requested a written response. A week later, I have no response yet and feel like I'm being ghosted. Time is of the essence as the Federal 30% Tax Credit (or $5,844) expires December 31st this year.

Desired Outcome

I expect PowerHome Solar & Roofing to live up to its AGREEMENT. The alternative is to go into "Binding Arbitration" at my expense through the Construction Industry Arbitration Rules.

No, I do not accept the response from PowerHome Solar that the rep G left on 11/1. He called and left a message for a return call and posted the remarks above. I returned the call twice by phone and once by text; have yet to speak with rep G.

First, I feel the need to clarify the remarks by confirming I was notified by email first on 10/21, sent my response on 10/22 AND I did a follow up call to confirm the mistake.

Second, prior to rep G leaving the message on 11/1, I got a VOIDED new DocuSign AGREEMENT with an offer at *** I had the NEW offering for at least 10 days prior. I refused to sign it as it looked like an offer to meet in the "middle" of the AGREEMENT price of *** and "Bad News" email of ***

Third and last, I am still requesting a written response to my request.

Thank you.

power from the product was not what they quoted. powerhome solar has a complete summary of this and has done nothing to correct.
Salesman Andrew B gave me a quote on 5/16/18 for a system to meet my power requirements. This was based on the previous months bills for 2018. the system was installed The 8 previous months usage was 11,014kw. Not knowing the capacity of their product I relied on him to quote a product capable of meeting my demands. Later I discovered he sold me a system capable of producing 5kw this is less than half of my usage. I have contacted the office numerous times trying to resolve the issue. Every time they ask for different information. They have asked me to install various systems. Such as smart meter for my power supplier, WiFi system with Ethernet capability, which I did not need, numerous past bills for my power supplier. ALL of the above I did. I talked to Madalyn in customer service on 9/30/20. She again asked for copies of bills from my power supplier and she would forward the to her Supervisor. She later called back and said the only thing the would do is SELL me more panels.

Desired Outcome

Make the system operate as quoted, which I prefer or remove system, repair any property damages involved in removal and refund original payment. I have in depth details on my contacts and conversation with Powerhome Solar which I would be glad to sent you.

Thank you for sharing your install experience with us and your positive review, Edward. Welcome to solar.

From our initial sales meeting, we were told our power bill would not be more than $40 after we installed solar panels. Power bill is not any lower.
Sales meeting with SolarHome in Feb. 2019 we agreed to purchase solar panels after we were told our power bill would not be more than $40 per month with the solar panels installed. After 4 consecutive months, our power bill is basically the same as before the solar panels but now we have the monthly solar panel payment on top pf the power bill. We were given false information during our sales presentation. After numerous contacts by phone and email, we still have not had anyone to look at the situation to resolve this issue. One conversation with the company indicated they miscalculated on the number of panels we needed and was going to correct their mistake but this has not happened.

Desired Outcome

The company needs to supply the correct number of solar panels at their cost to insure my power bill is not more than $40 per month as promised.

Misrepresentation of monthly energy savings
Date of Home Improvement: 9/11/2018
19 Solar panels installed
Loan: $30,000
Complaint: Met with rep from PowerHome who did analysis of energy usage and determined 19 solar panels would be required to own my own energy. Installation was completed. Enrollment in NetMetering with Consumers Power. Since the beginning I have seen no savings in energy, I am still being charged even though solar panels are supposedly generating 100%. I have contacted seller at least 10 times, sent recent energy consumption bills for for past 4 months for analyzation and am told "I am using more energy". I explained that I haven't even had my air condition on for the month of September, how can I consumer more. I advised that the Solar Dashboard indicates the panels are not producing. PowerHome assures me they are working from South Carolina without sending anybody out. I've been in contact with net metering to request a rep from Consumers Power visit the home and check out the meter. Each company refers me to the other. I spend $30,000 to produce renewable energy at a cost of $161/monthly, my Consumers bill has not decreased so I'm essentially paying double for a system that does not work. The following items to reduce energy were also installed: 1) LED light bulbs; 2) Blown insulation; 3) Hot water Thermal Blanket; 4) Attic Staircase Cover; 5) Nest thermostat (does not work properly); 6) recess lighting cover. Only me and my son live in this house. I refinanced my house and paid off the loan, which my understanding was if I paid by 3/21/2020 the "choice balance would be $21573.21". Again, misrepresentation. When I recently spoke with the rep who sold me the panels tells me that "I'm only paying $7 a month for my energy" - I should be seeing the same savings. I can't get any representative here to inspect even though I still have a warranty for the whole system.

Desired Outcome

I am seeking: 1) Partial refund to reflect the *** Balance of $21,573.21 in the amount of $8,500. 2) I want the issues thoroughly investigated and the problems corrected which includes the Nest thermostat installed. 3) And/or - give me a full refund of my $30,000 and take back the solar panels.

Was promised 55% production from solar panels, not eeven close to delivering
Purchased solar panels in February 2019. Was nicely installed, no issues. Went online March 2019. Was promised by the sales guy of 55% production based off of average last years usage which was 1,329/month. Take 1329Ã?.55= 730. Throughout summer months we never even broke 700 usage and summer months are supposed to make up for lower winter production. Have contacted them multiple times about this with no response. Such a waste of money.

Desired Outcome

Production has been 3288 for 6 months so 3288/6=548 a month average. 548/730(55% expected production) =.75 Paid 21,000 x 25% = $5,250 refund More than fair due to the winter months lowering average production even more.

They are unable to prove how 53% (they quoted me 55% but in contract stated 53% so I take 55% back and will go with 53%) of 2018 usage is being produced by solar panels in 2019.

I was told that I am unable to take the 2018 average monthly usage (LIKE THE CONTRACT STATES) times 53% quoted (LIKE THE CONTRACT STATES) to use as a benchmark to see how production is doing month to month.

POWERHOME SOLAR Response • Sep 25, 2019

We have sent the proposed numbers as well as what her system is producing. She's trying to average 53% on a monthly basis. The 53% is a yearly average. This 53% may vary according to weather conditions and or climate changes. POWERHOME Solar does not guarantee this percentage from month to month as it is based on a yearly average. This is in contract.

Customer Response • Sep 27, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
After speaking with Brad, I have realized the problem. PowerHome Solar's salesperson lied to us when selling the product. We were told that the Nest thermostat, water heater cover, etc. was a complimentary gift for getting the solar panels (which is completely beiveable considering we spent 21k). Never did he once state that those things will account for 25% of the savings. Had we known this, we never would have bought solar panels because it would have been more cost effective to just do the "complimentary gifts" ourselves and no solar panels.

When I told Brad about this, he told me that the salesperson no longer works for the company. I asked him if that releases PowerHome Solar of responsibility and he basically told me to prove them of fraud.

Obviously we don't have a recording of the conversation so we are screwed out of our money and time. Please never work with this company, they are unethical and don't take responsibility of their salespersons actions.

Sales proposal explicitly predicted a savings of ~$70/month; reality has been ~ $70 INCREASE/month. Multiple queries to company have gone unaswered.
In summer 2018 sales rep Ryan P from Powerhome used company-provided software to generate a proposal indicating our net savings after solar panels were installed. Proposal noted our average monthly electric bills would be $6, a decrease of $70 from our pre-solar average of $76. Since installation in October 2018, our average bill has been $82. We waited several months to inquire because we wanted to see if the average decreased over the sunny (high solar production) months. Another Powerhome salesman, J.R. B, contacted us in May 2019 to tell us Mr. P is no longer ta Powerhome and to ask how our system was doing. We told him and were directed to Resolutions Manager Karlee M. We explained to her that instead of our bills going down 92%, they have risen 7%, not even including the additional monthly payment on the solar loan ($110 for the next 20 years). We asked if the company could check our installation to see if there was a problem. Ms. M requested a year's worth of utility bills, which we provided on May 29 along with additional usage data. After we made numerous follow-ups over the next two-plus months, we never received a reply. We reached out Mr. B to discover that he also is no longer with Powerhome. He referred us to a customer service rep, Andrea H. We contacted her on August 7, explained our story and provided all the same information again. She called us back a couple of days later to say that after a remote diagnostic, our system is found to be working properly. She told us that she had referred our case (again!) to Karlee, who would "Contact us right away." Three weeks later we have received no such contact. The company misrepresented its product, will not respond to our queries, and as a result we are paying in excess of $1000/year for an essentially worthless bunch of solar roof panels.

Desired Outcome

Modification to solar panel installation (at no cost to us) such that it performs as promised OR removal and total refund.

The most recent response from Powerhome Solar (dated September 3, one full week ago) indicates that they "will reach out by phone call to discuss the details." As of today they have NOT contacted me to schedule a panel addition. In light of the fact that I first contacted them in May - nearly three and a half months ago - and only managed to get any sort of response at all from them after involving the Revdex.com - I am very skeptical that they are interested in resolving the issue.

Representatives from the company did contact me and asked many questions, but as of yet they have not offered any sort of resolution to my issues.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
