A year ago my boyfriend, [redacted] , and I moved into our apartment at [redacted] ***When we searched for a security system, we were mislead and tricked into signing a three year contract on September 2, 2017, with a company that represented themselves as ADT security on the internet, but was in fact not ADT securityTheir website represents themselves as ADT and all the materials they provided us with noted that they were ADT security, but they were in fact a separate company named Defenders who uses ADT security as their monitoring serviceNowhere on their website does it say DefendersWe were told when we contracted with them initially that when we moved after one year, as we were planning to do, our ADT system and contract would go with usLast month we moved to a new rental home at [redacted] and expected our monitoring service to move with usWhen we tried to move our system and AFTER we paid for and set up

I only hope you find this before you are a victim and not afterHow ironic is it that you contract a security company to protect yourself from thieves just to be dealing with them Long story short When ordering the $package I was promised this and lots more with monitoring at $ It then had a sum addedI asked why "Because you do noyt have a land line." I said I wouldn't want to proceed and suddenly it was $again The tech was scheduled for next day 2-4pm He did not leave until 9pm! It is one long up-sellA had none of it including the monitoring again going up to $I was told by the installer and his manager that they would honor the $I was also told that "it might go up after months but at that time I could cancel I even had the tech write this on my paper receipt It meant nothingThey plan to charge $for years Within hours the system failed and my wife and children were kept awake all night by the chirping It was this that made me call through and I guess fortunately discover I had been lied to by several representatives about the rates and terms You'd hope that cancelling would be the end but it only gets worseYou are given another number to cancel but this one you are left hanging onI went minutes before a human picked upI was told a cancellation form would be emailed to meREMEMBER YOU HAVE JUST DAYS TO ESCAPE THESE ROBBERS The email did not comeI called the same evening and was told it had been sent.againNothingThird time I tell the person supposedly sending it to stay on line until it comes throughStill nothingThey are not sending anything because they want you trapped in their contract At time of writing I have hours to escapeI have yet to speak to a single person who I trustI am completely convinced it is a giant racket As posters before have questionedThey are running at a 99% negative review ratHow on *** d they rate A+?

Situation: I would like to reconcile the following situationI am saddened that my relationship with ADT has begun this way and as of now feel victimized rather than protected by ADTADT was installed on 7/29/After discussing with my husband, we decided we did not need everything and we were not happy with the systemI called on 8/1/The customer service rep helped me to decide to return equipment and informed me that my refund would be $ When the salesperson came to remove the equipment on 8/2/2017, he confirmed the refund would be $ 8/2/was the last day of my grace period to decide to cancel or keep ADT On 8/15/2017, I saw I was only refunded $I called and the rep told me two pieces of equipment I returned I would not receive money back due to the promotion when it was installedI asked if there was anyway to reconcile the misinformation I was given and was repeatedly told there was nothing they could do I was transferred to t

I signed up for home security system with monthly monitoring service of $a month how ever when the tech came and installed the system he stated he had no paperwork to give me that it would be emailed to meI asked several times that it cost $a month to confirm, which the tech Donald S [redacted] confirmed, he then proceeded to put a inch in diameter hole in my freshly painted wall for the keypad even though I confirmed that it should have gone through my phone lineWhen the tech left I checked my email and saw the contract stated $a month and a signature that was not mineI called Adt- protect your home and they stated they would come back tomorrow and down grade meThe following day a different tech came with a smaller key pad which didn't even cover the hole and stated the previous tech should not have made that hole in my wallAt this point I canceled my serviceI found this to be a bait and switch from what I thought was a reputable company and I was very disapp

I was contacted by phone by ADT on 8/27/ Spoke with Jared M [redacted] and his supervisor, on a recorded line I was interested in a home security system for my home During the conversation I was asked for my debit card number to confirm my interest I was told at the time of the installation I would then be required to pay $and sign papers Jared tried to keep setting an installation date which I flatly said no, as I will not have the money by Wednesday, August 29, I explained I was on SSD and only received a check once a month I confirmed with Jared that the installation he tried to set up was cancelled After the completion of that call, I got a recorded call confirming my installation appointment on 8/29/ After that call I checked my bank account online and saw $was deducted on an authorization hold That withdrawal was not authorized and also overdrew my account incurring a $NSF I called the number Jared supplied me with, 800-689- Explai

ADT was not appropriate or professional when advertising and presenting product, Felt threatened and uncomfortable I responded to an add from ADT security systems by phoneThe sales rep on phone told me that I would need to have someone come to my home to review and explain the product after I paid a refundable down payment of He also confirmed that the advertisment was correct in that it would be or less a month and there would be no installment fees or extra charges , no obligation to purchase, and deposit would be refunded if not interested after demoI made an appointment for 5pm on 6/20/My daughter called me around 3pm stating that someone was at our home with ADT I talked with them on phone asking why they were there so early? They said that they didnt know anything about a 5pm appointment, and seemed a little preturbed that they had arrived without me being avaialableAt that time I was concerned that this was a scamMy daughter was also disturbed that

On June 7th ADT sent a Defender's technician to home to install my new security systemThe technician said he needed to enter my daughter's bedroom to disconnect the old system firstHe stated this would effect certain areas of home but that he would reconnect before he left He never reconnected the wires and now the electrical box in my daughter's room is wide open with wires all over the placeI am certainly not going to touch these exposed wires in fear of electrocutionSince he did not reattach the wires as promised certain electrical issues have taken place in my home...1)The system in my bedroom room is dead...No lights, no power and no time display but the main issue is my garage door button no longer worksI cannot open my garage door, I cannot close my garage door as the button is now deadI noticed the garage door button was dead within an hour of him leaving (Please note it worked fine when I left that morning), I called the company and told them my garage door

This company contacted me through their marketing departmentI spoke to Bryce A [redacted] , a sales associate with defenders protect your home who offered me an incredible deal he told me he was giving me $worth of free merchandise credit to buy additional equipment he specifically said whatever the technician has on his truck while he is at your home installing your your new system you can use that $credit to purchase anything on his truckHe also said we’re also going to upgrade your new equipment which is a total of $so that you will now have a wireless systemHe also told me that my payments would be $per month for monthsHe also told me at the end of months if your company thinks I’m going to ca cancel they will continue to offer me the $per monthSo we set the appointment I’m happy as can be the technician comes out he reiterates every single thing that Bryce A [redacted] promise to me on the carbon copy contract paperworkThat technician also sa

Defenders dba Project Your Home are complete scam artists preying on the people who don't know any betterTheir representative Cody M [redacted] , came to the house of my elderly parents and promised them the wireless plan with ADT pulse for the same price as a landline planHe installed the Pulse apps on their phones for them and everything worked, for exactly the three days it took for the contract to become binding He then turned off the Pulse service and pointed to the fact that he hadn't ever checked that box on the contractAs such, the company had refused to make it right by saying it's not in the contract, a contract that he had my elderly, trusting parents sign on his cellphone with incredibly small font by ensuring them that it was on the up and upDo not use this company unless you want to be ripped offThey do not care that their salespeople blatantly lie to customers about what they are getting and have very clearly demonstrated no interest in making things rightThey simply say that you can cancel, but that there is a 75% cancellation penaltyThe fact that these charlatans are still I business is absurdDo yourself a favor and don't throw you're money away, go with someone who actually cares about their customers
