I’m a couple of weeks away from closing on a home and inquired about the home security service online on 1-17-The sales rep covered information about the company and what was covered in the promotion that I responded toAfter that, he stated that to make sure I qualify for the promotion he would need to run my creditI asked him was it a hard inquiry or soft inquiry as I didn’t need my credit ran while under contract He proceeded to tell me how there wasn’t really a such thing as hard or soft inquiry and that it would have minimal effects on my credit and how it’s through one bureauI then specifically ask him was it going to impact and he said noHe said he didn’t even need the full ssn that I could provide just the last I gave him the last I found out later that day through an alert I have setup for my credit that it was indeed a hard inquiry and contacted the company requesting a supervisorI was told that this matter is something their loyalty dept handles and t

Good Afternoon, I want to file a complaint on the below ticket noI am livid at the experience I received and as a result declined to do business and want this ubauthorized hard inquiry removed immediately Ticket no [redacted] I am a new homeowner who called to get additional information on ADT I was not intially impressed with the service offerings but was then transferred to a manager who was able to “supposedly sweeten the deal” we talked a bit and I agree to provide the last of social / and DOB to have a technician come out and review the home to see if I was interested in signing up for service when the young lady asked for a CC to secure the appointment I declined the service and hung up the call at no point did she gain my permission to run my credit because this was not authorized and I am livid this was done after the call was ended without my permission I want this hard inquiry removed immediately and I want the company to have a document of the unethical busines

I wanted to install alarm system given that I occasionally go on vacationSo I did some research and found that ADT is a large providerI also found out that they offer day free cancellation periodThen my search directed me to this company where by no means that I noticed it was not ADT but just one of their authorized vendors Many representation or misleading handling of their business: 1)I was told by the sales rep that the $landline package works perfect for me given that ADT will know that my line is cut and they will send the police if line is cutThen the technicial came to my house and said to me that it will NEVER work for me given he tried so many systems and rip them off without triggering the alarmHowever, since he was there and had spent hours before he sat down to explain, the installation had to begin with the $monthly charge oneI was promised that I can cancel or downgrade in days by the technician 2)At no given point in time

Last week I called for a simple quote which they gave meHowever in order keep the price/quote they required that a hold be placed on my banking account for $plus tax which they assured me would not be charged until we booked hebservice and would drop off if decided not to go with themThe day following the call for the quote, I received an email from my credit monitoring service they Defenders checked my credit! They NEVER asked for permission to do so or even mentioned a credit checkIf I knew they were doing this, I would have said forget it as I am trying to buy a house and any credit checks can jeopardize this with the mortgage companyThis is illegal! So I immediately called and said I wanted to cancel the quote and wanted them to drop the hold on my accountThe manager I spoke to supposedly listed to the previous days call and confirmed that they never asked for a credit checkI was assured that they processed the refund I then checked my bank account and instead of

Jeremy C [redacted] arrived at the house November 11, at about 9:15am He looked around the house to see where to install the unit and we decided the front wall would be better then in the laundry room He installed the unit and then starting talking about the various package they had We told him we never paid for equipment and had ADT in New Mexico and Georgia He started at 4,(four thousand dollars) which would include breakage glass thru out the house we told him no Then we went to 3,(three thousand dollars) we said no and told him to take his equipment He said he was going outside to call his manager He came back and said it would cost $and my spouse said okay The payment would be under(one hundred fifty dollars) So, he finished installing the equipment and informed us a door camera would be installed He asked me if this was my signature on his tablet and I said yes Before he left we asked him about the paperwork and he replied it would be arriving Yes, it arrived He had sign my signature in my DocuSign and in my bank account on Nov 13, 2017, $was withdrawal as well as for service We spoke to April and explained to her what happened I did not sign any documents and we did not agree to $per month for service as well as him taking $from my account She wrote a report and informed the manager They send Jeremy out again to see if he could correct the issue He spoke with my spouse and the $was refunded to the account We called the police and had a report filed case number [redacted] by Officer [redacted] *** as well as DocuSign case number [redacted] from [redacted] to see how he could sign my name They offer a gift card for $which we have not received Defender ADT corrected the problem but who wants to be put in this situation What would have occurred if I did not have extra money to cover my bill This was wrong Watch out for this company

Collection harrassment I got ADT in June I was on auto pay until my card was changed by the bank due to fraudulent activityAt some point the account was referred to a collection agencyNot realizing that, I made an electronic payment of the entire alleged paat due amount $to ADT in Dec When I called ADT, I was told that my account was actually with ADT Defender which is separateADT had forwarded the payment to ADT DefenderI prompty contacted ADT Defendor in Januaury and was ensured that the collection departmemt would confirm receipt I did nothear back so contacted ADT Defendor again on Fenruary 11, At this point, I was told that my payment was received and ADT Defendor would send me written confirmation that account was paid in full and take the account out of collectionI asked ADT defendor to send me my money back if they were the invorrect creditor so I could directly pay the correct creditor, but was assured it would be taken care ofToday,

I scheduled installation of an ADT alarm system on August 18thThe technician that was sent out was from Defenders, dba Protect Your HomeWhen I scheduled the service, I’d advised that I needed a [redacted] enabled unit due to where my home is located geographically and spotty cell phone serviceThe technician that showed up did not have a [redacted] unit so they had to reschedule for the following weekendThis technician advised that I had $of equipment to have installed as part of my purchaseHe advised me that he had ordered the equipment for his home online and recommended I do the same as Defenders marked their equipment up by $(the actual equipment cost for new non-refurb was $29.99)He couldn’t finish the install, but recommended I order online and said that they would install it when they came back outThe second technician that came out did so on August 25th and was able to get a signal with a non- [redacted] unit, so went ahead and installed $of equipment from Defe

I called ADT to get a home security system installed at a veteran home I operate under the nonprofit HOBS for combat veterans living with PTSD and TBI We are a 501ctax exempt, both federal and state I stated what I needed in a system, to include an outside camera and all doors and windows alarmed They took an immediate authorization on our credit card for $plus tax, while stating that would be changed, since we were tax exempt Then the service tech shows up and tells me to do what I want, will cost another $3,and instead of $39/month, it will now be $59/monthThey also promised that since I was a veteran I would get a $Visa Card from the technician Today they charged me another $20+ dollars and want another $plus tax on Monday, when they install the outside camera

Hi - I was sold a $system December 2015, and offered a visa card for $to offset that charge, which I never received -- then today, contacted Defender, based on referral from ADT to Defender, at 1-800-689-today, 11/29/2016, said they are a different company, not DEFENDER! (however ADT indicates they are Defender), and they cannot reissue a visa card, because it is only good for days, and a redemption code is sent in an email, which I never received This is my first complaint My second complaint is Defenders sold me the ADT package, for a multi-year contract service I discussed with them that December, the house would be unoccupied, while it was for sale, and I wanted to have the system to protect the property from burglary while it was for sale - and I would need the service for a few months not for years They told me I could transfer it to my new address in Texas after the house sold to finish the contract, or if the new owner wanted to take over t

If they were fish you would have thrown them out long ago Just read the reviews I managed to escape with only losing 110$ US to them, but I am working to get that back Fortunately I used a credit card Do not give them your credit card or Bank account number and PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER!! Defenders is a company that's out to scam you. I'm unhappy with your shady sales tactics. Your salesperson/technician, told me I had 6 months of free trial and if I wanted to cancel I would get all my money back including installation with no strings attached. When it was time to sign papers I saw the "3 day cancellation" so I was reluctant to sign. He assured me that was only one way to cancel to get my money back quicker, but I will still be able to get a full cancellation before 6 months. He also told me to to do him a favor and wait 2 weeks before I call to request any additional sensors for free, because that's what his other customers did. Well we waited for 2 weeks to call, and when we couldn't get more sensors for free we wanted to cancel and guess what, we can't cancel anymore and we're locked in to the 2 yr contract. Shady business DEFENDERS d/b/a Protect Your Home, you should be ashamed of yourself. Just close down your business already. Plus the $100 VISA gift card process is bad. We didn't know we had to send in an application within 60 days of install and also there's a $4.95 S&H fee only accepted with cashier's check or money order. Your customer care email doesn't work. It sends back "This mail box is not in service" email. Your customer care phone number does nothing but forward me to ADT. I want to talk to the scam artists that work at Defenders (Protect Your Home).

I have had nothing but trouble with this company since I activated a previous security system that was already installed in my home that I purchased in April of On May of 2015, I had the system updated and the fraudulent billing nightmare began I was repeatedly billed for video cameras that were never installedFinally on December 15, 2015, an ADT service man came because system was not even working, but I was still being being billed for itHis name was KendrickHe seen I had no cameras and told me that Mike, the installer had been fired for stealing and scammingI called the company every single month for months in a row before I finally got them to stop billing me for cameras that were never installed in my homeI spoke to Customer Care repeatedly as well I talked to Tina, Sharon, Tomeka, and Tamara who each told me my account was zero each time I spoke to themThey have recorded calls and I also recorded the call myselfI spoke to a man named George, ID-

I called Defenders Inc at the beginning of to have a security system installed Over the phone, they quoted me a price for security installation and said that there may be add-ons to the price My understanding was that I would be able to safely secure my home for the base price which was a few hundred dollars In addition, I would be paying a monthly fee of $ I also understood that I had a period of time to rescind my order with all of my money back if there was any reason I was not satisfied with the system I was ok with this deal On the day of installation our installer, CS [redacted] , said he needed to install the wall unit first thing After he did this, he went through my home and discussed how to properly secure it When all was said and done, he quoted me a price of well over $just for the monitoring system This did not include the monthly $with a year contract This was well over the price that I had anticipated and I did not sign the
