We had received a marketing postcard in the mail, called ADT and they assigned Defenders are our local dealerI don't recall the name of the salesperson who came to our home but he was very professional, polite and just doing what he was trained to do (which is why I gave stars and not just star like this company deserves) First thing they do when they come in --- drill a hole into your wall, install the keypad and THEN sit down with you and talk about priceBEWARE! Do not let them drill or install anything, lesson learnedThat should of been a red flag for me but going off of ADT's reputation, I ignored those red flagsNext, the free equipment I was to receive, quickly became over $1,000k which they don't tell you about in advanceSo with a hole and a keypad on your wall it's either pay that or downgrade to below what they were offering for free and even then, I still had to pay out $for "Free Equipment"Now, our salesrep did offer some good advice which we also added - by going with a sim card vs landline as the landline can be cut from the outside causing the alarm to not respond to the monitoring station and we gladly paid for that upgrade but there are lots of hidden fees and fine print so do yourself a favor and read everything carefully Fast forward, alarm system is in our home and then the keypad begins to act upThe door is wide open during the summer and suddenly the keypad wants to arm the doorWhen you try to cancel the arming process, the alarm soundsSo I called ADT - they couldn't tell me what is going on and had no record of any kind of alarmThey redirected me back to Defenders whom I tried for weeks to reach with no responseJust as a little test -- I submitted a new service request on the website and within an hour I got a call from someone wanting to make a new salePoint They do not care about existing clients, only new onesIf you've already given them money, you are a priority but not as much of one as those first time customersThey only see dollar signsIt really scares me, ADT or Defenders had no idea what was happening with my alarm panelWhat if I was being held hostage or there was a real emergency? Just a very scary thoughtI do not recommend Defenders or ADT

On 1/16/a representative from ADT came to our home at [redacted] To install alarm system ,my husband Edward Collins booked the appt .over the phone ,from a ad we received in the mailThe representative spoke with us briefly ,we then walked around the house and showed him where we wanted the sensors put as advertised, He removed our system which was working and due to expire 5/31/2016.He put our new system in then said he had to check outside and would be back shortly, about mins later he came back in said he did a survey and said we needed a much more expensive system we told him no our old system only gave us doors the advertised system would give us doors and Windows which was more than adequate When we refused the expensive system he said he could only put in sensors for the doors and Windows , I told him he should have said this before removing my old system which was $ a year we would never changed our system to pay $a year for ex

Dear Sir: Mrs [redacted] received a brochure from ADT According to the brochure, the company was offering a free home security system valued at $with only a $customer installation charge and the purchase of alarm monitoring services for years The services were supposed to be specially priced at $which was down from $ The offer also included free pre – wired door or window sensors enough according to the brochure to protect virtually every entrance of a home, a $value Additionally, the offer was supposed to include a free $Visa Gift Card from Protect Your Home! Furthermore, an extra bonus of free wireless keychain remotes with a panic button When the company came out however, they installed the 1a Pulse System instead of the ADT Monitored Security System requested The charges for the Pulse system were quite different from the $advertised special also Instead there was a $charge, a charge, and a $charge Mrs

This first started on 10/24/when I called Defenders to ask if I can give my contract to a family memberThey informed me no I cannot, so I said that is fine I will leave my account as is until I move into my new houseThen on 12/9/I called ADT which is the company that holds the services, and defender is one of their carriers; I was transferred to a [redacted] (a different carrier than Defenders) and everything went well, so I thought! Then later that day on 12/9/i received a call from Defenders saying that I need to move my services with them and pay $for the move and my contact would start all over again for another two yearsI then informed the gal whom I spoke to that I already got everything set up with [redacted] and rep from Defenders said that I terminated the contract that I need to pay $1, My issue here is that I did everything I was suppose to, by calling the company ADT and telling them that I am moving my services and they were the ones who

Misrepresentation: I had no indication I was in a contract with “Defenders” they pass themselves off as ADT and when you call ADT for help, they pass you off to Defenders Terrible Service Alarm beeps repeatedly every minutes starting about 1am Called several times and was told to break open the box and disconnect the battery This happened for several days over a weekI called to cancel within the contractThey said to give them one more chance to fix it and sent a technician came out to fix it This didn’t fix it I called to cancel after it didn’t fix it and they said I was over the day period because I gave them a second chance! I called back again, and they said that the day clause doesn’t exist that is on page 5, section of my contact Now they said they have to send someone out times for technical issues before I can cancel with no fee because of issues – meanwhile I can’t get any sleep and the alarm is not monitored because the battery has to be unplugged

THE ABSOLUTE WORST COMPANY! Do not EVER waste you time, money, or energy dealing with this companyYou will be told different things by different peopleThey will nickel and dime you for every penny you have and if you don't cancel in time days (Even when you are still in your day period) they will charge you $to cancelThey don't abide by their adsThey charge you for things that should have been free and "complimentary"Never againWish we would have never wasted our timeHorrible customer service reps, not to mention absolutely rudeThey will take advantage of you any chance they getCan't say enough terrible things about themIf I could give zero stars I would Within our days we were going to cancel and things were going to be taken out, we were told if we kept the basic items we would get a refund for the things removedWe've been told a refund was being processed then we were told we weren't getting one at allWe've been told different things and given different excusesIt's ridiculousPlease try having almost $taken out of your bank account and living off of $for weeks and let me know how it works out for you ????

It was not MADE clear to me while showing me an electronic contract that my monthly fee had gone up from the verbal agreement of a month I did not physically sign a paper contractThere is a fabricated signature on the document The document says a different amount than I repeatedly confirmed verbally and now I cannot get the contract changed because it is past the days There is no trust with people anymore when it comes to these kinds of transactions I paid an additional and I got a hike in my monthly rate that was NOT CLEARLY VERBALLY or SHOWN to me- I was simply handed an iPad type device to say "Is this close to your signature?" And everything was completeI thought I was seeing a completion document and NOT A COMMITMENT TO A MONTHLY FEE It should have been CLEARLY STATED "Your monthly fee goes up because ________." I am now calling ADT to find out why I can't have the advertised fee that had me call in the first place and I even paid mor

We were blatantly lied to by the technician that came outOur mother passed away so we wanted a short term contract on her home until it was soldHe said no problem the contract is transferable to the new owners Apparently not so After many many hours on the phone with Defenders I had to pay the remainder of the contract and the new owners had to start a new one I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone

informationInformation contradictory to local ADT dealerAdded billing/contract information after cancellation On the 26th of February we signed a contract/installed security system with the local ADT authorized dealer PHY (Monitoring Account # [redacted] ) at our house in Venice Beach, CAA year later, February we moved that system to our new address in Westchester, Los AngelesOn March I cancelled the service since we were moving out of state and were not 100% pleased with the service provided by ADTWhen canceling the account, I was told there was a cancellation fee since we'd only had the system for yearAfter correcting the service representative she realized we had indeed had the system for years and she told me there was not going to be any cancellation feeToday, April 14th a representative from the local ADT dealer (a MsLaraysha Webb) called me to charge a USD fee for cancellationI explained the previous conversation and tha

We moved from our home at [redacted] on August 1 of this year. Prior to moving I contacted ADT Protect Your Home and told them to cancel the service. They asked that I send a letter to them regarding the cancellation, which I did. That was the last I heard from them. Then, shortly after, I began to receive letters From [redacted] indicating that they were a collection agency and that we owed $736.10 because of an automatic renewal fee that had not been paid. Apparently they said that I was supposed to send a certified letter to ADT. 60 days prior to the cancellation, which I had no idea about, as that is not what they said during my telephone conversation with them at the time of my first call. I called ADT to find out what was happening and why the mix-up and subsequent collection agency, and they blew me off and transferred me to the collection agency. They refused to give me any details. I called [redacted] and they just said

ADT Security requires that one of its technicians comes in and installs their systemThis comes at a large price depending on the package you select I have paid them the money; I did not owed ADT any money But they still enforced you to pay the extra without explain the details Today, they gave me two different invoices that I still owed them money and filed a collection and did the suspension and negative my credit reportingPeople paid what he got ,I want to pay what I have gotten itThey did not answer my questions about the two invoices and they did not explain to their customers; they just want you to pay what they enforced customers I don't like to owe anyone money, but I pay what I got, it is true and reasonable

Defender DBA Protect Your Home made many unauthorized charges to my credit card. I contacted the local "System Pulling Guy - Armando" to resolve this matter. He told me that the matter had been resolved . Several days later, the company continue to charge my credit card. I contacted this guy and he told me that he would take care this matter. The prob**m has never been resolved.

I ordered am ADT system back in December It was installed the week of Christmas A contract was given to me to sign because they were to come back out and do some other things I had a monthly fee taken off my American Express Card fraududantly, it was not the rate that was quoted to me and I did not authorized for this money to be taken off my credit card Fast forward I have been sent to collections I requested a copy of the alleged contract that I signed I was told by Defenders on 7/24/that it would be emailed to me in hours I also called the collections company and requested it as well I called Defenders back again the next day still haven't received contract, I was told it takes hours I call back days later and was told they would not have the information the collection agency would I called the collection agency [redacted] I was told that Defenders pulled the account because there was no contract on file

I responded to a flyer I received in the mail for $monthly monitoring, a wireless system and free equipment What I got was far from that I called and they said they were going to give me $of free equipment, but it was $for installation When they showed up to do the install, the technician immediately replaced my keypad with an ADT keypad and replaced the power source in the garage Then we walk around the house to determine what was needed and then the sales pitch was on!! Basically, the $of free equipment wouldn't protect my home as much as what I already had with [redacted] After or rounds with the technician who originally said I needed an additional $of equipment, we settled at $in additional equipment Then I was told that the $27.99/month monitoring was for a land line only and they wouldn't warranty any of the equipment To get the wireless system that was advertised and warranty protection on the equipment, it was $52.99/month monitoring This was a TOTAL SCAM and deceptive sales practice If I could give a ZERO rating, I would I have filed a complaint with the Attorney General as well

My wife and I ordered service via a promo card we received in the mail for $27.99 monthly! Took 3 weeks to get to my home but when they did, the technician installed ADT Pulse which is not what we ordered. He asked my wife and I if we wanted to arm our system from afar, and we said sure but he never told us that he was putting a different package in that we didn't order. He even told us that he would be throwing that part in for free because he is authorized to do so. So I had already paid the $100 installation fee at this point. After a day or so my wife noticed that $96 dollars had been taken out my account and we immediately contacted them. They gave me a hard time saying that I agreed to the ADT PULSE, which I did not, and they said they would send someone out to downgrade the system to what I ordered, which would take 2-3 weeks to get someone out to do so. When the technician (same guy as before) arrived 3 weeks later he didn't touch my system, he quickly told me that my l

reviews 4/16/ Complete bait and switch and very disingenuous marketing! They sent me a marketing piece in the mail saying that installation was free, monitoring was $per month and I would receive a $gift cardInstead, installation was $280, monitoring is $per month and gift cards are very difficult to redeem They came to my home saying that my system would cost a lot more to install and monitor because I don't have a landline in my homeAlso, they email you forms to redeem the gift cards, but they require a significant amount of paperwork and require that you send in a cashiers check/money order for a shipping and handling feeClearly, they make it as hard for you as possible to redeem these gift cards They said installation was going to take 2-hours and it took 5-6, partly because they installer took a lunch break in between My installer was Greg G [redacted] His phone number is [redacted]

On Oct I had installed an ADT Pulse3A security systemOn Nov I executed the agreed upon 'Notice of Cancellation' (NOC) within the required three daysThe NOC was acknowledged on Nov by *** In paragraph two of the NOC it states: “IF YOU CANCEL, ANY PROPERTY TRADED IN, ANY PAYMENTS MADE BY YOU UNDER THE AGREEMENT, AND ANY NEGOTIABLE INSTRUMENT EXECUTED BY YOU WILL BE RETURNED WITH TEN (10) BUSINESS DAYS FOLLOWING RECEIPT BY THE SELLER OF YOUR CANCELLATION NOTICE, AND ANY SECURITY INTEREST ARISING OUT OF THE TRANSACTION WILL BE CANCELLED.” DEFENDERS has violated the agreement and as of today, Nov 2018, Marcelene, stated that despite acknowledging the NOC on Nov that the ten (10) business days didn't start until Nov Further, she said that the contact with 'Ryan' on Nov was not confirmation The NOC is quite clear on when the ten (10) business days beginOn Nov DEFENDERS representative, 'Ryan' acknowledged receipt of the

Good Afternoon, I want to file a complaint on the below ticket noI am livid at the experience I received and as a result declined to do business and want this ubauthorized hard inquiry removed immediately Ticket no [redacted] I am a new homeowner who called to get additional information on ADT I was not intially impressed with the service offerings but was then transferred to a manager who was able to “supposedly sweeten the deal” we talked a bit and I agree to provide the last of social / and DOB to have a technician come out and review the home to see if I was interested in signing up for service when the young lady asked for a CC to secure the appointment I declined the service and hung up the call at no point did she gain my permission to run my credit because this was not authorized and I am livid this was done after the call was ended without my permission I want this hard inquiry removed immediately and I want the company to have a document of the unethical busines
