I initially got this system because I was in extreme need of itI explained my circumstances to the initial representative that I spoke with and got an appointment set up to get it taken care of as soon as possibleIt was explained to me that I would get all of this wonderful equipment for freeThe technician shows up and begins the installation and everything is fineWell then he explains that I will only get two sensors, one for my front door and one for my back doorAnd that I would have to pay for the sensors for all of my windows at about $eachAgain, it was explained to me that all of this was freeIt also came with a surveillance cameraHe explains how it works then tells me it’s a $installation chargeThat, in my opinion, is not freeEspecially when I have already paid an installation charge for the system itselfAt this point, I’m irritated because I feel betrayed by a company who is supposed to be protecting meHe continues to try to sell me the equipment a

I had defenders install adt service in my house the service doesn't work due to cell reception where I live I have had defender employees come out to figure out that it wont work at my house months later, I am still paying for the service that doesn't work and nothing that I was told has happened my contract was to be cancelled by a manager at defender and I was told I would receive all my money back almost every day I receive calls telling me I owe them dollars for a permit for service that doesn't work I am fed up with this company and their total lack of professional courtesy

On,2/27/18, Defenders,Inc., 3rd Party ADT entity, installed an ADT Home Security SystemAlso, on 02/27/18, I signed an ADT contract with the installer, Ryan
There were immediate installation problemsThe installer attempted to resolve the problems;it seemed he hadHe left abruptlyProblems began afterwards
An ADT Repcalled me to report a problem with my front doorThe ADT Rep.resolved the front door problem remotelyHowever,I have other system problems(chime and Living Room) to date
My first bill from ADT was $I disputed the bill due to my signed contract states $per month(pay via mail)
Afterwards,I received excessive calls from unfamiliar numbersI didn't answer and no voice messages were leftUltimately,I answered a call and spoke with Adam G.(312-637-8038)at Defenders, IncAdam said,he mailed a contractThen I recived a call from Christopher ,manager,(317-957-0083), I complained about the excessive calls; he apologized and said he needed me to sign

ADT Home Defenders claimed that owed January payment; however, I made this payment on February 14, They said that they did not receive the payment, but I have the canceled check that I made this payment They requested that I send them proof of this payment, and I sent them proof of this payment by faxI called on March 19, 2018, and they said that they did not receive my faxThis is the second attempt, and they claimed they never received proofRequest payment adjustment

Wow! Should have read the reviews beforehand I feel so foolish for not reading these reviews, but I must tell you we were in a very vulnerable position when we sought out home protectionWe had just suffered a theft and acted hastily when purchasing ADT home protectionI want to warn anyone who is thinking about home protection to look somewhere else
We purchased a home and business system with ADT/Defender The sales technician Tim told us that we would receive $gift cards for installing the ADT systemsWe never received any type of email or paperwork, so I called ADT/Defender and they told me that the technician had no right to offer that deal and we would not be receiving the gift cards
Since then I have spoken with many very nasty toned people that work for Defenders/ADT (Dominique 19777, Kelly 13363, Connie, and Deidre) They talk to you with a tone of condescension and continuously talk in circles as they lie to you
As a small business owner, I know how important customer service isApparently, customer service is not in ADT/Defender's business model
I am stuck with them until November 11, 2019, but I am taking down all the signs and stickers we placed on our properties and I will tell everyone who will listen not use these companies

information to lure customersI was told my the agent I was going to pay a certain fee per month and it was falseI was also told I was getting a certain product and it was also falseI found out about the REAL monthly price when my credit card was chargedI found out I wasn't getting that camera door bell at installationThe agent gave me information to get the sale and now if I want to cancel, I have yo pay 75% of the contract, which I was told it was not a contractI asked to speak to a supervisor and I was denied a supervisor

This company manages offers a VISA reward program for new subscribers for security services They never sent the card They sent an email (which according to one of their telephone representatives usually goes to spam) with instructions If you don't call within days to inquire about the gift card, the offer expires
I believe the intent is to never honor the gift card The method to receive the card appears designed to hide the process so subscribers never get the card The card is only $and most folks will probably let it go saving Defender tens of thousands of dollars each year Meanwhile they are "stealing"

This has to be the worst company you could ever do business withI called to set up service with ADT and had no clue that it was a third party companyI was informed that in order to set an appointment that I had to put a card on file for a $deposit, and that I wouldn’t be charged until my appointmentThey even gave me a technicians name and ID number that would be doing my installAs soon as the call ended my card was charged $106, and my credit was ranA few days later a tech pulled up in his personal car also not the technician I was toldand said he would be installing my systemHe immediately took my ADT system I already had down and stated it was out dated and had to be replacedHe tried up selling everything and when I declined he slapped a new panel, two smoke detectors, and a carbon monoxide detector on the wall He said he was done and asked for me to sign for the completion of the installOnce he was gone I received an email with a work order and contract that I did not sign, and it was completely different from what we discussedWent to make sure my windows were locked and all my sensors were missingEven the two I watched him install were gone, and the extra keychain remote I purchased was missingI called him immediately and he said he was sorry and that he would come back to finish and never came backI called customer service the same day and was offered to have someone else come out to install the sensors the next weekI called back because I never received a confirmation for my new appointment and was treated so badly that I cancelledThe senior manager came today to install the sensors and stated he new nothing about the cancellationWhen I asked where my other equipment was he informed me that it was thrown awayHe took a look at my system and was confused on where everything listed in my work order was and then told me that my motion detectors were not hooked up at allHe asked a few times if I would allow him to correct the issue at hand and I declinedHe stated he didn’t know that to do about my missing equipment and informed me to call customer serviceI called and was hung up on timesThe 7th call I was informed that she would have to connect me to the senior manager in my area because he would have to handle this issueIt was the same tech/manager that came to my homeThe agent asked him what was going on and he brought her up to speed on everythingShe stated she would file a claim with the loyalty team and they should reach out to me within hoursSomething didn’t sit right so I called back and was informed that no such thing was done and that I had to email someone about this issueAlso it can take days to receive an email even addressing thisI have wasted hours of my life, was charged for two months of service, a deposit of $an extra equipment fee of $(which I never received) All I am asking for is to have my equipment that was removed from my home (that I paid for) replaced, refunded for all my charges and my account canceled

I had an ADT pulse system installed about a year agoIt has been a nightmare from day oneThe camera goes down on a regular basis, there seems to be a communication error frequently also and the system beeps every secondsTheir newest solution was to install an antenna which means more wires in my family room, which looks like it is wired to explode I have had numerous technician appointments which requires a four hour window for them to arrive plus any time they spend at my home fixing their equipmentIn short, I have spent countless hours on technician appointments and telephone calls and a small fortune over the last year for equipment and service which does not work properly

I continue to try and cancel my account with ADT but I am not able toI was told I have to go through Home DefendersThe person that set me up for the account used deceptive sales principlesHe didn't let me look at the contract because it was on a iPad screen and you can only see the places that you signI asked him what it said and he told me that I had months to cancel my service for a complete refundHe stayed at my home many hours forcing me to sign a contractThen when I told him I had to leave and didn't want to sign he told me he would wait for me in the carWhen I returned he was in his carI signed and he told me that I had six months cancellation promiseI called right after he left to cancel and was denied cancellation because I didn't have a passwordI was told it had to be mailed to meWhen I called back I was told that I could not cancel and I needed to call Home Defenders who I had never heard ofI called and asked to cancel timesI talked to Amber, Dot

I purchased a home security system from ADT Defenders on 10/18/The installer said I had
days to cancel the contractAfter I purchased it I realized I couldn't afford itI had
given them the deposit of $on 10/17/and $on 10/18/for installation
I cancelled the contract within the days and ADT Defenders said they received my cancelled
contract within the daysThey told me I would get the $within to business days
and the $would take about days but they said it doesn't take that long but it
couldNow when I call they say it's ready to go back into my account, then they say it
could take longerEvery time I call they tell me something differentSometimes when
I call they put me on hold and doesn't come back on the phone I am on hold for about
to minutes and someone else picks up the phone and tell me it could take up to days
to get the $and days for the $but one lady told me it could be expe

I moved from home in Colorado Springs which had a security system to a home in *** ** where a new system was installed I informed them at the time of removing the old system that due to electrical upgrades on the home we purchased I wouldn't be able to install a new system until July 31, I was told that was fine that as long as a reinstall was scheduled there would be no contract penalty However, they continued to charge me $month for June, July and August for the old system despite there being no system installed at the old locationOn August 1, I was charge for the old system as well as for the new system I called customer service at ADT and was told that Defenders handled the old account and I had to call them I call Defenders and the man said that it's an ADT account and in my mid-sentence of me trying to explain I had already spoken to them he transferred me back to ADT The customer service rep at ADT then cut me off while I was trying to explain tha

I have been receiving harassing phone calls several times per day from different phone numbers This has continued for several months The callers state they represent Defenders (an ADT provider) I have been told I have a balance of over $ Each time, I have asked for supporting documentation (e.gbill, statement, contract, etc.) to be mailed or emailed to me I have not received any documentation thus far

We reached out to ADT for home security installation and was provided a $installation fee along with a $monthly service feeUpon arrival the "technician" (which later we find out is also a sales rep) explains we need to pay an additional $for equipment We agreed to the amount and understood installation would take a "couple of hours." After hours and a 10pm departure on a Tuesday evening, our technician left us with a sloppy job (wires handing, cameras not completely intact and holes in the side of our house) Additionally, no instruction on how to use the system and a bill that was hundreds of dollars more than the $we didn't even to expect to begin with! I've called the company upwards of times to get resolution but have been placed on hold for over hours and finally requested cancellation Cancellation paperwork was sent to me via email and a form provided for me to fax over The fax number provided on the form is not a working number and I cannot get a

We contacted Protect Your Home in response to a promotional flier that was sent to usAt the end of the consultation with our technician, we advised him that we did NOT want to move forward with the purchase of an ADT security systemThe technician (named Andy), then proceeded to hound me to make the sale, offering me different employee discounts and a veterans discount (which I did not even qualify for), to try to make the saleHe told me these discounts would only be valid if I signed a contract today, but that I could "sit on it" and "just call in to cancel" within business days (he said Friday, 5/by midnight to be specific), and get a full refundHe told me I shouldn't worryHe installed the keypad, but nothing else (out of $worth of equipment I was charged for), and then left
Well within days, I called to cancel, and was told I needed to send in a "Notice of Cancellation" formAt no point was I told that it needed to be postmarked by a certain date, and I di

I called ADT regarding a special that I saw advertised during the holiday season (2017) After speaking with ADT, I decided that the service was not what I wanted After this phone call, I have received phone calls from Defender's Protect Your Home every day for two months The number that is calling me is (530)419- However, if you call this number back, it goes to the national customer line
I have never had an account or service with ADT or Defenders They continue to call me I have asked times to be taken off the list I receive phone calls every day and I this is disruptive to my students, since I teach all day I have spoken with numerous customer service agents at both companies One person said it takes days to be taken off the list The next person said it takes weeks to be taken off the list The third person transferred me to a different company hotline The fourth person said it will take days to be taken off the list
Furthermore, I asked why I am receiving phone calls from them when I never contacted them They said that by calling ADT, I was automatically transferred to them They never identified themselves as Defenders Protect your Home when I called initially Secondly, they said "out of 20" customers (which I am not a customer!) is called back for better offers Based on the various information I was given previously about how long it would take to be removed from their do not call list, I doubt this is accurate either

I originally signed up with ADT with the intention of keeping their business but they did not follow through to what was agreed uponThey charged me $for a time period when the equipment wasn't even installed yetI called their office to reschedule the initial installation because I was out of town but the technician never got the messageWhen the technician came to my home, my roommate let him in and he just started installing the equipmentMy roommate did not know that he was going to be there nor did she know anything that I had set up with ADTSo being that I was not present for this installation, nor did I direct a POA to be present for this, I was wronged and did not receive all the necessary information or equipment that was agreed uponI never received a contract, and when my roommate asked the technician about it, he stated "The homeowner had already taken care of all the important documents"That was not true as I never knew there was a contract involvedOnce I

We had received a marketing postcard in the mail, called ADT and they assigned Defenders are our local dealerI don't recall the name of the salesperson who came to our home but he was very professional, polite and just doing what he was trained to do (which is why I gave stars and not just star like this company deserves)
First thing they do when they come in --- drill a hole into your wall, install the keypad and THEN sit down with you and talk about priceBEWARE! Do not let them drill or install anything, lesson learnedThat should of been a red flag for me but going off of ADT's reputation, I ignored those red flagsNext, the free equipment I was to receive, quickly became over $1,000k which they don't tell you about in advanceSo with a hole and a keypad on your wall it's either pay that or downgrade to below what they were offering for free and even then, I still had to pay out $for "Free Equipment"Now, our salesrep did offer some good advice which we also added - by going with a sim card vs landline as the landline can be cut from the outside causing the alarm to not respond to the monitoring station and we gladly paid for that upgrade but there are lots of hidden fees and fine print so do yourself a favor and read everything carefully
Fast forward, alarm system is in our home and then the keypad begins to act upThe door is wide open during the summer and suddenly the keypad wants to arm the doorWhen you try to cancel the arming process, the alarm soundsSo I called ADT - they couldn't tell me what is going on and had no record of any kind of alarmThey redirected me back to Defenders whom I tried for weeks to reach with no responseJust as a little test -- I submitted a new service request on the website and within an hour I got a call from someone wanting to make a new salePoint
They do not care about existing clients, only new onesIf you've already given them money, you are a priority but not as much of one as those first time customersThey only see dollar signsIt really scares me, ADT or Defenders had no idea what was happening with my alarm panelWhat if I was being held hostage or there was a real emergency? Just a very scary thoughtI do not recommend Defenders or ADT

Con artists/Bait and switch Thought I was purchasing an home alarm system from and setting up service with ADT but apparently it was subcontracted to Defender My mother scheduled the appointment for me and paid $to cover system for a monthly monitoring service of $ Defender installer, Lonnie, made me sign a contract even though it was in my mom's name (not mine) but with my address He did not inform me the charges were not part of the original package He signed me up for a payment plan of $653/mo plus monitoring plan of $59/mo As soon as I realized what happened, I called to cancel I had the contract switched to my name and had them remove the upgraded systemThey downgraded me to basic package and switch monitoring plan to $29/mo However, I am still getting charged $/ mo for the equipment they removed and still being charged $58/mo for monitoring rather than the $29/mo Repeated calls and complaints to ADT and defender have yielded no results with both sayin

After another recent break-ins and learning IMPD’s theory is “no need for us to come out if robbery not in progress”, On Monday 7/18/I started contacting security companies for a home alarm system As ‘the leader in security systems’ as I was told, ADT had an advertisement in the paper so I called them first Speaking with Wendy, I learned security companies do not work like gutter companies and will NOT send a sales person out, instead they have sales people in their office that will create the “perfect package for your home” without ever investigating With all the “free” equipment they give you and as I passed their ‘credit check’, (yes I have a credit card) the monthly monitoring fee will be $for months, I told them no thanks at this time and continued to seek other companies
Then having learned from a friend the local vs nation office, I made another call to which sales representative Toni had the monthly monitoring fee has been reduced to$for months wi
