TO WHOM THIS MAY CONCERN:
We purchased ADT from Protect Your Home in with the intention of moving sometime the following yearWith the original purchase we were told there is no cost to the first move and that is where problems began
Listing of service issues:
1) Moving Issues:
A) Called Novtoo schedule the move for late DecThe call was too schedule removal and install of systemWe were asked to call back closer to our move date and give at least a 48-hour window from our call date to make sure someone would be able to come outWe called on Dec19th and were informed the earliest they could come out was JanOn Dec21stwe explained to the moving center that we had already given notice and the landlord had new tenants scheduled to move in first week of Jan 2016, so we had to get a date before Jan1st
B) We were told that due to the Holiday's no one was available until Jan9th I made several phone calls after that tryi
I was promised a rate not to exceed $with Pulse service INCLUDED
Once installed I was rate switched to a rate of $
Even after a rate was promised by Brandon & Paul and Alarm was installed by Kwan A*** and witnessed by Kwan A***, I am Being told that a rate of $does not exist even though a rate of $was agreed upon
First thing - I am very unsatisfied with the protection of this "Security System." Someone told me that if someone broke into my home and took the panel off the wall then ADT would not be notifiedI didn't want to believeHowever, I tested it out myself by taking the panel off the wall in my home and NOTHING happenedIt went totally dead (no such thing as battery back up)After that, I called to cancel my accountAt first the guy was in the process and was going through the cancelation until then at the end he decided to make it known that I am under contractHe said I can cancel just by faxing over a letterI did and was still chargedAlso, I have called in and was told my account was "paid up" with a zero balance and will be canceled on my paid through dateI was very misinformed on the day the tech was at my homeI remember ELECTRONICALLY signing my name then pasting it to a page where I was confirming my one time payment for installation and my monthly deductionI do bel
I filled out forms and faxed cancellation hrs after the heavy pressure installationI got another charge from them, called *** ***, who they billed and explained to them I canceled They, *** ***, contacted Defenders telling them I had canceled and they would not pay and refundedmy money as well as block any further charges
I got another bill, I explained to them I canceled in December, and to come pick up their stuff The next month same thing only now they say they never recieved the cancellationNext month they say they found it but not signature isnt legible, I say that IS my signature and it doesn't have to be legible, just it is mineNext month I call lawyer, they say as long as legal signature doesn't have to be legible, I wasn't denying it
Again and again same thing, I asked every time if recorded so they could go back and hear it again
Finally now in May, someone is saying they only got half the fax and I needed to resend, even after I told her tha
I placed a call on 7/6/to ask about a promotional flyer I received in the mail from ADT I only called with questions, not to attain any type of service I spoke to a manager by the name of Michael L*** at 2:30pmCall reference# *** He asked me for my DOB and LAST FOUR DIGITS OF MY SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER As soon as I provided that info he said "you've been approved for the service" I immediately was concerned and said "wait a minute! What do you mean approved? Did you run a credit check on me somehow? " He said yes I was NEVER EVER ONCE INFORMED about any type of credit authorizationI did not provide my permission at any time at all throughout the call to check my credit nor did I believe it was possible to process any type of credit check by using just the last four digits of a persons social security numberOnce I made it clear that I was upset that my credit was just pulled without my consent or knowledge, Michael advised me to contact 800-689- He then di
Defender is not able to provide me monitoring service for which I pay a monthly fee I have scheduled three different appointments to have the service restored Each of the three times no one showed to my home I'm only given a window of time for service and thus needed to miss work When calling I've been bounced back and forth between ADT and Defender both which completely conflict with and discount what the other is saying making it impossible to determine what to do and who to believe When calling I've been hung up on, told "this is not my problem" and constantly transferred back and forth between the two companies At this point all I want is to cancel my monitoring service without penalty since they have been unable to even show up to fix the problem
On Saturday, October 14th, I had an alarm system installed by ADT The technician was here for hours installing the system and still did not do it correctly The carbon monoxide detector went off times in less than hours It took them hours to respond from the time of the first alarm I had to call times to have a technician come out to fix the job; being told that "Our technicians don't work on Sunday." I waited several hours on Sunday to have the repairs made At this point, I wished to take advantage of the day time frame to cancel the contractI attempted to fax the cancellation form times over daysFinally, I was told by Daniel S*** (manager #12520) on October 18th that I could mail the form as long as it was postmarked by the third day; October 18th The form was mailed that afternoon
The tech/representative told me I had days to cancel the service But the representative today is telling me the cancellation can only be done within days The only way to cancel now is to pay 75% of a year contract I would have to pay over to cancel the service The tech did not explain this to me it was not in the paperwork that I signed I signed the paperwork on a tablet and the information was not given to me showing the 75% fee I feel they have deceived me at the original meeting and now will not stand behind what their technician has told me
Defenders Company installed a security system at my residence on 6/11/ At that time, equipment, installation and first months billing was paid via different credit cards in person This card information is also listed on the contract provided to me at time of purchase However, Defenders processed some of these charges through a different banking account and not on the credit cards provided The banking account number was only provided to the company at the time of reserving the appointment for the installation, no charges were to be made as no work was being performed The company disregarded the payment information given to pay for the services when they were rendered, causing multiple overdraft fees on the banking account Upon learning of this and contacting the Company multiple times and requesting a resolution to the problem they have caused, I have not received a response
Adt and authorized dealers charged me an early termination fee
Wells fargo stated there were no attempts from adt to withdrawal money - im checking with bank to see the date that my card changed - adt and suthorized dealer charged me an early termination fee and send info to lawywer This is the only letter received from adt in the amt of roughly no e-mail sent or any notification by mail Why would I get protection and then cancel like that when I didn't have to sign up for it at all? When calling ADt people were rude and said they couldn't help me and they said they left messages on my machine, my mail box is filled up so that can't possibly be true My blood pressure when up and I am so hurt and disappointed I do not have this kind of money to throw away
I had my ADT system installed by Defenders after an aggressive sales pitch - where I explained that I was going to remodel my house and wanted to wait until after my remodelHowever, the salesman assured me that this wouldn't be a problem as unlimited service was included in my package though my subscription periodSo I agreedI paid a large sum of money to have my system installed and signed a contractNow, that it is time to re-install my sensors they want to charge me for a service visitI called ADT corporate, filed a complain - they sent someone out, free of charge with no hesitation
CJ, the technician, was very professional and friendly He took the time to describe the different options available to me and make sure I understood There was a problem with AT & T for new customer set up when he began my installation That caused my appointment to continue to a second and third day CJ kept me posted about any progress or lack of progress being made Should I add anything in the future to my system, I would welcome CJ back to my home to perform the work
I had called Defenders to set up an appointment for my cousin to have an alarm system installed on his house as he was out of townI made it very clear with Mike id#and manager Andrew id#(reference # ***) that I would not be the account holder and would only be setting up the appointmentI was told that it is fine and that there would be no issue in doing soThe next day a technician came to install the system but was unable to and we had to rescheduleWhen the next technician came I was not present but my cousin was there when he set up all the equipment, when it came to signing the contracts my cousin reiterated that we need to change all the information on the account from my name over to hisHe again said no problem and claimed that he didNow it has been a week since the installation date and the alarm system hasn't worked a single day, and the contract is in my name not my cousins and they are refusing to change it over when I dont live at the addressthey
Revdex.com rating A plus , really ? negative reviews Vs positive ones , how does this compute ? This Richmond base service company is the worst I have ever dealt withRevdex.com should review its rating system , otherwise it is so unreliable as the subject vendor - uselessness
Defenders installed a security system in my home on March 19, The contract they emailed me had the incorrect county (*** ***)for my home's location My home is located in *** CountyAs the county police are notified when there is a break-in, it is essential that the county my home is located in appear on my contract to ensure that the correct county police are dispatched to my home I contacted Defenders and the installation person, David V** ***, on March 21, to inform them of this error and to request a corrected contract I have since contacted them numerous times and have yet to receive a corrected contract
In addition, Defenders erroneously charged my credit card $on March 21, The charge was to be the advertised charge and the charge on my contract of $ I contacted Defenders and David V** *** numerous times and was assured that I would receive a credit on my account of $ It has yet to happen
Negligence as to contract
I received a letter from ADT for $monthly offer and I called to schedule an appointment informing them that I do not have a phone line and they said the offer will be ok with just internetI changed my appointment till I have the internet installed and when they came out to install the equipment, I was advised that the offer is only with a phone line and it will be $Also they charged me $to schedule the appointment but did not tell me that the $will be refunded in a gift card
I told them I am not interested anymore but the representative called his manager and was able to have them provide me with another $gift cards as an apology for the miscommunication
After looking over the papers I was still not interested and the representative called again and was able to get me another $gift card and kept saying he doesn't get paid if I don't sign up today and that it hurts his numbers
After signing up and installing everything, I looked at the papers
On November 23, 2015, I contracted ADT to secure our home and signed a 24-month contract through their authorized dealer, Defender DirectI was assured that if we ever relocated, ADT would simply move the equipment to our new location and re-install it at no charge
In mid-September 2016, we informed ADT that we were relocating While processing our request, I was asked for the last four digits of my social and that I had to pay $for the installationI protested the necessity of a second credit check when one was already done at the signing of the original contract and protested the $installation feeThe agent insisted that it was policyThis upset me and I decided that I wanted out I was referred to a “manager” who only repeated both requirementsWhen I then told him I would prefer to cancel my account with ADT if this is the case, he said I would still be liable for the remaining monthly payments on the contractLeft with no choice, I submitted the social info and pa
Had security system installed on 3/29/with ADT Paid $for additional equipment at contract signing Wasn't happy with the system and cancelled the contract via fax and regular mail on 3/31/(had until 4/1/to cancel per the written contract) Additional equipment was picked up by ADT contractor on 4/6/and I was left with only the basic equipment that I was told would be free on charge Still haven't received any type of refund for the $I paid for the additional equipment that was returned Have called ADT numerous times and have also contacted them in writing Still no resolution, so I disputed the $I paid with my credit card company I have pages of documentation that proves my claim I do not owe the $that they have charged me because the equipment was returned
I called on 6/to inquire about services and pricingThe sales associates ended up selling me a package at $install (equipment included) and monthlyI was very concerned about the cost being more than this, as my family is in a bit of financial hardship at this timeHowever, I wanted to begin protecting my homeI was assured by the sales representative and the manager on the sales floor that day that that above pricing would cover my needsWe even went over how many censors would be needed to cover my downstairs (which is all I was concerned with)Again, I was assured that the package I was being sold would be sufficient (went as far as to counting doors and windows and sharing it with them)
On 6/my system was installedThe installation rep informed me to completely cover my home, I would need to pay an amount around $I quickly informed him about my conversation when I signed up, and we ended up at an amount right at $that I would need to pay in orde
I was contacted by phone by ADT on 8/27/ Spoke with Jared M*** and his supervisor, on a recorded line I was interested in a home security system for my home During the conversation I was asked for my debit card number to confirm my interest I was told at the time of the installation I would then be required to pay $and sign papers Jared tried to keep setting an installation date which I flatly said no, as I will not have the money by Wednesday, August 29, I explained I was on SSD and only received a check once a month I confirmed with Jared that the installation he tried to set up was cancelled After the completion of that call, I got a recorded call confirming my installation appointment on 8/29/ After that call I checked my bank account online and saw $was deducted on an authorization hold That withdrawal was not authorized and also overdrew my account incurring a $NSF I called the number Jared supplied me with, 800-689- Explai
