I was living at *** *** *** *** *** ** ***i called ADT to have a security system installed in my home. This was in September of 2015..The company that actually installed the system was Defenderan ADT authorized provider..I had no problemsI Moved in July of I called Adt on July and had them cancel serviceI had new services installed at my new place *** *** *** *** *** ** *** on July 2016..Well on 7/I paid Defender $to have my services transferred. On 7/I had $and $automatically taken out of my accountI called Defender on 7/to see why I had both payments out lI was told they made a mistake and they would refund the back to my account and that the was the prorated month of July and for the month of August..Well I never received the money so I called them back today 7/9/16and talked to Nadia ID #and was told that they didn't take money out of my account that it was ADT..Well I called ADT tal

I am a new homeowner and live aloneI contacted ADT through their website, to inquire about security systems servicesI was contacted by ADT to discuss, and she put me through with someone to go over security system plans, etcOn this call I spoke with a Jared M*** (Service rep.) and received a confirmation of #*** at end of callDuring this call I was promised $1,in equipment credit and a $visa gift cardWe discussed that I would be receiving a keypad, sensors for the doors and windows (I needed 7), a keyfob, and glass break detectionThe $1,equipment credit was actually supposed to cover this, and he explained that I would receive an additional $for any extras I was interested in, like full room motion sensor for explain, etcI paid $dollars during this phone call to schedule a service appointment for install
On the 21st of September, the tech came out to install, in his ADT blue poloHe set up my main security system, and had to do some “paperwork” on his ipadHe then went to his vehicle and came back in, with a box of sample items to show meI was very displeased as he tried to sell me $5,in equipment, then $3,000, then $1,(I explained each time that I had just purchased this home and had thought this was all handled on my prior phone call, and did not have extra money to spend)He advised me to purchase one extra sensor, which I did, for $He advised my monthly service with tax would be roughly $At completion of installation, I signed the documents, and he advised me I had business days to cancel
Yesterday, September 25th, I came home to an offer from ADT in the mail for a monthly rate of $and up to wireless sensors freeI called immediately of course, to see if I could receive this, and they stated it was for customers switching from other security companies(Nowhere did it say this) so I requested to cancel my servicesI was put on hold and an account manager came on the phoneShe offered me another free sensor, and another $gift card(I had received no prior $gift card)I accepted and said I would continue my serviceShe gave me a website at that time to redeem my cards
Today I went online when I came into my office, and plugged in the website she gave meIt is a PDF gift card redemption form for a company called MPELL, and it advises you that you need to mail in the form with a $cashiers checkI thought this was odd, so I looked up MPELL, and they have hundreds of thousands of complaints against them with the Revdex.comI was shockedPeople never receive cards and they are basically pocketing the $per customer
I called ADT after sending them a message via Facebook as well, who then advised me that it was DEFENDER SECURITY who I had my install with (I was NEVER advised of this and again, another shock to me) and that I would need to cancel through themApparently, ADT uses them for installs in locations where ADT does not have locations, however, I was never advised of thisI got on the phone and requested cancellation as I am not comfortable with the service at all, the gift cards seem like a scam, and the entire process seems like a scam to be honestThe woman I spoke to refused to let me speak with a manager, advised me I cannot cancel as the paperwork stated the 25th was the last day(Might I add ADT said that was an error on their end, and of course business days from Friday late afternoon is today) and Defender advised me that they count Saturdays as business days(It does NOT say this anywhere on any of the documents)She was screaming at me and behaving extremely unprofessional, and stated if I want to cancel I have to pay 75% of the contract or I will be sent to collectionsI faxed in the required documents to cancel and have heard nothingAlso, backtracking to the first phone call, they had asked for the last four of my social security, and I asked if a hard inquiry would be put on my creditI was advised it would not, and low and behold it has been
I am so uncomfortable with this entire process and this entire thing seems like a scamADT does not advise you that another company will be coming out, and they pose as ADTNow, they are giving me trouble and will not allow me to cancelI have now had to obtain an attorney and have an appointment on Friday to meet with themI cannot imagine being stuck with this company for years just to avoid collectionsIf there is anything you can do to help me, and to expose this I would greatly appreciate it
I think other people need to know what is happening as I am completely blindsided by this entire thing

RUN FROM THIS COMPANY...they did classic bait and switch when they installed the "wireless" system that was supposed to be a land line to get the $rate The technician never said anything about the land line until the rate of $was on the contract When I didn't sign they lowered the bill to $and sent a technician out to remove mobile access (something I had with Brinks) My tenant signed something for the technician but he never changed the system so the contract is still at $54...by hook or by crook they get you NOT HAPPY!!!

I would give this company a zero if it were possibleI had an appointment with a rep, canceled yet the day before, was told my card would not be charged the $but it was anywayThe company would not take it off in a timely manner I had my credit card company Credit my card $This company called me a half dozen times to tell me I owed them $ Company finally credited my account six weeks later but by that time my credit card company had already credited me I had my credit card company add $back and these people are now calling me to say that I owe them $Do not do business with the vendorI feel like I am being scammed by a company that is supposed to be protecting youIt is Bewildering to me how a company can have an A+ with the Revdex.com and a 1/customer satisfaction in there review section

Beware of very pushy sales tactics bordering on intimidation Our Sales Rep wanted to do an install that day, he said he had no litererature we could review regarding the system The 1st plan he offered was an outrageous $11, He refused to take "NO" for an answer and went on for hours making new offers at less cost After hours I began to feel intimated by his size, his refusal to accept "no" and leave, and especially by his pushy attitude After 1/hours, he offered a "trail" installation with a printed day Notice of Cancellation Acceptance of this last offer seemed the only way to get him out of my house I faxed the cancellation notice to the home office today I will NEVER do business with this company again

Have tried getting in contact with the Tech multiple times, David He was very responsive prior to me signing the day contract Tried cancelling the contracting due to faulty equipment (sensors falling off windows and doors - set off alarms falsely in the middle of the night) He had "upgraded me to wireless, even though I wanted wired equipment (had paid for this feature during my build process) David had told me that I had a day trial period to cancel the contract and since he wouldn't respond, I called in to Customer Service directly They told me I was already locked into a month (Yes - YEARS) contract after only days Once again, I text David back to get his supervisors information and once again, no response The sensors are now sitting on the floors paired up together to avoid alarms and the motion sensor detects no movement whatsoever
On top of all of this (and most importantly) I was NEVER told that this company was a 3rd party They advertised

As I understand it, ADT has Defenders under their umbrella in the Jacksonville area I responded to a mooffer after my family moved to Jacksonville for $ After a lengthy phone call with ADT, I was able to schedule a technician to come for an estimate and installation I knew that the price of the equipment would be steep, as I had been told by customers of ADT, so while I would have appreciated that aspect on the offer, I was not surprised The technician was not efficient He went on with stories about his dogs, his high school days, etcDespite all his talking, the technician would not answer any of my questions about billing He simply repeated that ADT handled that end He also never mentioned that the $offer only applied to homes with a landline but he did hand me a contract for $56/month after he was done installing the equipment This was on a weekend, but I called ADT asap the following Monday to get an explanation Only then did I learn that the plan I had signed up for did not fit the criteria for the $offer because of my not having a landline Again, the technician never brought this up at all I was eventually transferred to a supervisor at ADT who offered me two visa gift cards and to reduce my monthly bill to $ I found this a fair compromise, so I accepted that and another technician came to my home the following weekend with an updated contract for me to sign
But, I am still being charged $a month I have tried several times to correct the situation with ADT, but they only have record of the original contract Even after I sent screen shots times of the new contract, I have not received a response
But that is not all Last month, one of the batteries on a siren caused an alert Not a huge deal - the technician had given us his number and said to text if anything like this occurs So we texted and he said he would be by on noon the following Saturday to check it out He never came When I texted him at that day, he said he forgot and was out of town, so could not help We set up an appointment for the same time the following Saturday, same thing He was out of town No excuse No apology We had stayed home and cancelled plans two Saturdays in a row, no thanks to this service After three weeks and more phone calls, ADT set up an appointment to have the siren serviced Who came to the door? The original technician who installed our equipment and left us hanging two weekends in a row I was not happy to see him

Protect Your Home sent me an email stating - refer your friend and get $200, they get $for starting srvcontract They have listed to the record of my co-worker requesting to use my referral # so we would both get rewarded for him starting a srvcontract That was beginning of April I've called 4/5, 5/6, 5/7, 5/23, 6/13, and still cannot speak with a manager about handling my referral reward I'm constantly told "due to you moving and not being referred you were given a $gift card" which is NOT true as well as being told "you started a new service so you only get $100" which is NOT true as well I've had service for years now If they advertise they give $gift cards out for referring new customers, getting the gift cards shouldn't have to go through such a long drawn out process including being told you're wrong, not being listened to, lied to about dates I would receive cards, being hung up on when asking for a manager to speak with etc

Very unhappy These people lie and tell you that you will get a system for free A technician came and quoted me $ and said with the credit they gave me, my total cost was going to be $and then $and then finally charged me $ Also, they promised I was going to get a $gift card when installation happens I was sent an email instructing me to download a certificate, fill that certificate, make a copy of the contract page and mail using regular mail along with $cashier's check for shipping They do this to discourage people from getting their promised $ The sales guy told me that the technician was going to give me the gift card when he came to do the installation
Very annoyed and unhappy I suggest you go to ADT and deal with them directly You will definitely pay less
I wonder how many people they scam into paying them $for the same thing I paid $for and I also wonder what the same setup would've costed me if I'd gone with ADT directly

I installed ADT Security in our home on Feb 9th, Our contract with dealer number 2938065, monitoring account number *** (hand writing is a little ineligible), and dealer's license number on 2/9/states that we are to pay a monthly charge of $ To date we have been charged the following: 2/6/2017-$105.93, 2/13/2017-$85.62, 2/13/2017- $107.00, 3/10/2017-$56.70, 4/11/2017- $56.70, 5/10/2017- $ I have called a few times now stating that these charges were not corrected and told that they will be corrected within to business days and that I will get a refund This has never happened and I continue to get billed the incorrect amount I have also stated since signing with ADT or Defenders the authorized dealer that I need to receive a bill for this and to not automatically withdraw this out of my account due to the incorrect billing amounts They continue to bill me automatically I have no choice but to physically call my credit card company and

First off ADT did not say these second people were coming to our houseThen they drilled into my wall without asking me Then demand a payment that day without prepping us ahead of time Did not have equipment that was wanted said they didn’t have that anymore when my friend got it the week prior Then he never put signs up anywhere Also had to correct his math several times and when I called to complain get directed to different people they can’t find my account They won’t produce a contract I so said signed

I recently had my car broken into outside my home which a one month year old so I decided to have a security system installed I called a number on one of the flyers that stated "ADT" and called to get their $deal installed in my home I called them to get an installer at my home and one came out to our home on 2/9/ When the installer arrived he smelled like alcohol and just introduced himself and asked where we would like our system placed (the wall mount system) We pointed at a spot and he got to work After the installation of the system, he discussed our options on where we wanted the door sensors and motion detector We explained to him where and he used this time to discuss selling any upgrades he had After the installation he asked it we wanted an "app" on our phone which would be only $extra a month leaving the total billing a month to be $and change At this point, I stopped him and stated that we signed up to have the $a month and that we rec

ADT Alarm System advertised that if there services were accepted a Visa gift card would be issued to customer I purchased the full alarm system and applied for my Visa gift card on May and still have not received the gift card Have made several calls and each operator states that it is in the mail Last call was on June and they now state it will arrive in July I had to send a money order in the amount of to the company Defenders Inc.I also sent the required information they requestedI do not know if this is a scam but it has taken to long to receive my gift card

I called to cancel the service 5/8/ I advised it was due to financial hardship I was filing bankruptcy and need to cut expense I was transferred to retention and then was told the account would not close and service ceased until I paid the cancellation fee I advised the gentleman on the phone he could send me the invoice and I would submit it to my attorney to included as a creditor for my filing I was told it doesn't work that way The account would stay open and charges still incurred I again reminded the gentleman of me filing bankruptcy and all creditors are being paid through the filing I told him verbally no new charges are authorized on my debit card and to send invoicedHe said he understood and then restated no changes would be made to my account I was charged $ on June 2, by the company

Since I called to request a quote I have dealt with this ADT dealer four separate times, all of which I felt taken advantage of as a customer
Called for a quote and scheduled a “potential installation”, they asked for my checking account number and said if I agreed to the service and equipment at the time of installation my monthly payments would come out of this accountThey praised their company and said I’d get window and door sensors free of charge, their service and equipment had a lifetime warranty etcThey also told me I’d be charged $a month given I had internet service (which I did) and a $installation charge once I agreed to the services the day of the installationI agreed
The day of the installation technicians showed up late, my appointment was for 8am, they showed up at 9:15amI had called before they arrived, since they were late to see what was going on, they said they had a window of arrival of hour and they were on their way, I was never to

On 1/6/ADP installed an alarm system for my home They told me it was for a consult fee, but would get a visa first card if we signed up I gave them my credit card and signed with them to authorize the monthly charge of They over charged me the first month & said they would credit my account They charged me consult fee & charged me an additional for shipping & handling to have Visa card mailed to me I just received a bill for an additional for a "permit fee" that supposedly my town requires to install alarm It was unbeknown to me about this permit and hidden charges throughout this whole process I am in a year contract with them, and they keep charging all these "hidden fees"No one told us about the permit fees or additional here or there I called this company on 1/30/and she told me it is in the fine print & I will be delinquent if I do not pay this

I’ve had several phone calls with ADT and Home Defenders trying to resolve a charge on my accountAfter giving sufficient evidence that I do not owe this charge on my account I am harassed on a daily basis to pay the feeEvery thine the caller asks for money then continues to read the notes on my account showing that this issue is up for review in one of their departmentsThis has been going on for over two monthsI feel harassed and anxious that not only are they going to not handle this issue appropriately but just continue to harass me until they send my account off for collections

Ive reached out to both ADT and Defender Home Security ( An Authorized ADT Partner ) more then times to pick up there product
Lets start off by stating the day of the install I was told that I didnt need to stay any longer as I had to go to work and that he would handle it and email me with anything I needed to knowhours later I get a copy in my email of a contract that I assume my uncle or cousin who had been doing construction on my house at the time signed for me( I never read or signed a thing ) Feel free to contact the installer who did the work or get a sworn affidavit from him as he is well aware I never signed a thing
Alarm seemed to have issues the very first day finally after an hour or so on the phone with adt tech I was able to fix itThe next day I left the country for businessWhen my cousin returned to the house the next day the alarm wasn't workingI came back home yesterday and called defenders for an appointment to fix and go though the contract

LESS THAN a STAR! Worst customer service I have EVERreceived

I contacted ADT on 4/regarding install a new home protection service and they sent Technician over on 4/However, we ended up didn't install the security system due to the huge pricing differences between what their sales person promised and their technician's priceThe sells representative told me the price is only $27.99/month while the technician came said he can only do for $48/month AFTER drilled holes on my walls Therefore I told the technician that I wanted to cancel the installation due to prices and even called ADT to confirm the cancellation on the same dayHowever, ADT still charged me $for the installation service without any notice! Be aware of this company! such a horrible service
