Review: I signed up for a 14-day free trial for this company's supplement through an advertisement I saw on ESPN. I was under the impression I would be receiving a 14-day supply of the supplement no strings attached and that the only charge I was to be held liable for was the $4.95 for shipping. I also purchased the trial for the "Fat Burn X" product, whose office is located in a different city in California but I was unable to find a business listing for them through your website. I am assuming they must be directly related in someway because I was able to order both supplements through the same advertisement and their product labeling is identical. The process for "cancelling the trial" was not clearly stated in the area of the website where you input your information to place the order. You are asked to accept the terms and conditions without them being stated. It was not until after I realized that there were 2 charges of $87 in my debit account statement that these "terms and conditions" are listed in VERY small print at the bottom of the page. They do not give you any kind of reminder that your "trial" is about to expire and then to proceed to charge your debit card without your knowledge. The quality of the actual supplement aside, this is obviously a scam by this company to trick people into giving them their money. I cannot afford to pay both of these charges. I have already cancelled my account for both companies, and asked them to refund my money. They said they were unable to do so, even after I stated I still had both supplements; I have not even opened the Ripped Muscle X supplement. I would be more than happy to send both supplements back if they are able to give me a refund.Desired Settlement: I would like both of the $87 charges refunded to my debit account.

At Ripped Muscle Extreme, every customer is given the right to try their first 30 day supply without charge for the first 14 days. After the 14 day trial period, if the customer is unsatisfied with their product, they are to return the remainder postmarked for return within their 14 day trial period and also contact customer service to notify a request for cancellation. If the customer keeps their 30 day supply after the 14 days, they are automatically billed for their product on the 15th day and then automatically shipped and billed a product every 30 days thereafter. The customer has the ability to cancel at any time by calling customer service or emailing [email protected]. If a customer needs to contact customer service, the phone number is listed on rippedmusclex.com, the product, the pamphlet, and the package the product is shipped in. The terms are disclosed clearly on rippedmusclex.com where the customer would have ordered their product. The customer has to also click "I agree to the terms and conditions" twice before the order is processed. If the customer does not "agree" to the terms, the order will not process. The terms and conditions are disclosed directly on the ordering website not only on the bottom of the first page, but also highlighted in a large white box on the second page where the customer inputs their card information, as well as sent out with the product. The consumer placed the order on 10/19/14. This is when they paid the initial $4.95 and this began the 14 day trial period to sample from the initial 30 day supply. Since there was no notification of a request for cancellation and/or a returned product during the allotted trial period, the consumer was automatically billed for the 30 day supply on 11/09/14 as explained in the terms and conditions for which they agreed to. The consumer contacted our company on 11/12/14 with a request for cancellation. The account was canceled immediately as instructed and they were sent a confirmation email confirming the cancellation.

Review: A Facebook ad for this product stated a "Free 14 day trial." After I clicked on the link, it has you enter all your information, then it states on the bottom of the page under terms and conditions "I have 14 days to see if Ripped Muscle X is right for me" stating that the only charges will be for shipping and handling during the 14 day trial. 2 days after receiving the product I was charged 89.00. I called several times with no response, the call was on hold until the line finally went dead. I finally emailed them about it, and they stated that the "Free trial" was only free if you cancelled 14 days after you ORDERED it. My complaints are as follows: First, this is obviously unbelievably misleading. A 14 day trial by definition means that you have 14 days to try the product. By the time they got around to shipping it, and it traveled from California to New York, I had 2 days to try the product before I was charged 89.00. Secondly, there was also no regard to the fact that even though I sent the completely unopened product back after 17 days instead of 14, and I explained I was not able to have the "14 day Trial period" they promised to see if I wanted to purchase the product, they would not honor a refund. As I explained to them, I am not looking for something for nothing, I sent the product back, unopened, immediately after I realized that their ad was misleading people into thinking they would actually have 14 days to try the product.Desired Settlement: I would simply like the 89.00 refunded to my credit card. The original charge for the shipping and handling, that was clearly stated, is not included in this.

Since there was no notification of a request for cancellation and/or a returned product during the allotted trial period, the consumer was automatically billed for the 30 day supply on 7/5/14 as explained in the terms and conditions for which they agreed to. The consumer emailed our company on 7/7/14 with a request for cancellation. The account was cancelled immediately as instructed and they were sent a confirmation email confirming the cancellation. Based on the nature of the email the customer explained that they have returned the product. We have issued the customer a refund today in the amount of $87.63 as we care about customer satisfaction. The refund will take three to seven business days to credit back.

Review: I made an online inquiry for information concerning two products. A representative contacted me. I did not want to do business with the company once I heard they were a subscription service. The representative told me that I can obtain free samples of the product by paying the postage. I specifically told him that I DO NOT WANT TO BE ON THE SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE. A month later, I get a charge on my credit card. The representative put me on the subscription service anyway. Besides that, the samples were ineffective, and I will never order the product again. In my opinion, this is FRAUD. The representative took my credit card information for postage and then proceeded to place an unauthorized order with my credit card information.Desired Settlement: Refund my money and never contact me again.

Review: This company has gone to great lengths to trick the public/consumers. Below are two links to similar "articles" that appear to be written written by a fake author. Please note that the "facts" from each article, including the author's name, need to get ready for a competition and weight loss/muscle gain are identical. However the images of the author are different in each article. In addition, the magazine itself does not exist. The links on the page do not exist. The reporter does not exist. This is false advertising, plain and simple. There exist over a dozen complaints about the automatic billing on day 15 of the "free" 14 day of a thirty day supply for this company (and ELITE TEST *60 which is actually the same company-different products). I called to cancel within 24 hours of my order and want to assure no charges appear on my card.

I was told the items shipped and I would have to ship them back to sender and they would have to be received or I would still be charged. I AM EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE WITH THEIR TACTICS AND AMY SKEPTICAL THEY WILL ACKNOWLEDGE THE PRODUCT RETURN, THEREFORE CLAIMING THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO CONTINUE TO CAHRGE ME UNDER THEIR TERMS AND CONDITIONS.

Please see the "articles" at the following links.

[redacted]://[redacted]/*/[redacted]://[redacted]/Desired Settlement: PLEASE DO NOT BILL ME AT ALL. THE PRODUCT WILL BE RETURNED UNUSED.

In addition, stop the false advertising immediately.

Response:

I have [redacted]ed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me with regards to the refund for the canceled product. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this portion of the complaint resolved.

However, the concerns regarding the false statements put forth by the company in the form of a fake article and website to knowingly deceive the public has not been addressed. In addition to the information contained in the original complaint, it should be noted that each article uses a different combination of products in its claims. Again, the company has created a false sense of authenticity through theses "articles."

I look forward to hearing about this unresolved concern. While my money has been refunded, the company continues to use false claims to trick the public/potential customers.

Review: I purchased a 14 day trial for 4.95, and searched the website to make sure it wasn't a scam because the email confirmation I received had as little information as possible, and the website itself has no information easily accessible whatsoever. I still have the product from the trial because I wasn't pleased with it, and just today received another one, and was charged 87.63. I previously attempted to call the number [redacted] after receiving the trial to make sure there were no strings attatched, the customer service line, which first greets you, says hold on, then the line goes silent. After 3 attempts, I stopped trying. I have just now tried it again at central time from 5:16-5:24, but still silence. A 4.95 trial that is meant to confuse customers, and leads to a 95% price increase is a scam. I want the entire $87.63, The product itself comes with no documentación informing you of a contract.Desired Settlement: 87.63

Review: Company website said "Get your risk free Trial, just pay 4.99 shipping" I order the bottle of Ripped Muscle X and received the bottle. then 2 weeks later my credit card was billed for $87.63

The web page is misleading and the part the says you are doing a trial membership is hidden at the bottom of the second web page. I called the company and they said that it is clear on there web site that I was signing up for a membership, I said no it is not and gave them the web site to show them. They looked at it and said that they had not seen this web site. Really???. Anyway they canceled my so called "membership" and refunded $44 of the $87.63 but refused to refund the full amount. I think this is a very unethical way to trick people to sell their product. If the product is good than a free sample should have you back buying more. not being forced to purchase more.Desired Settlement: Refund the remainder of $43.63 and take off the "Try Risk Free" on the web page so other do not get burned.

The customer has the ability to cancel at anytime by calling customer service or emailing [email protected]. The consumer placed the order on 01/27/2014. This is when they paid the initial $4.95 and this began the 14 day trial period to sample from the initial 30 day supply. Since there was no notification of a request for cancellation and/or a returned product during the allotted trial period, the consumer was automatically billed for the 30 day supply on 02/11/2014 as explained in the terms and conditions for which they agreed to. The consumer contacted our company on 02/14/2014 with a request for cancellation. The account was canceled immediately as instructed and they were sent a confirmation email confirming the cancellation. Based on the nature of the call, the customer service agent refunded the charge of $87.63 on that same day. The consumer would have received an e-mail confirmation of the cancellation and refund. The refund will take three to seven business days to credit back.

Review: I ordered a free sample of a supplement and afterwards I checked my account to see that they've charged me $87.63. I called once I saw the charge and informed them that I haven't opened the supplements nor the mail it came in then tried getting a refund in which they denied. I'm not interested in keeping the product so if you could help me get my money back I'd gladly sent them their product back in the same condition it was sent. ThanksDesired Settlement: I would love to get a refund because I haven't opened the bottle nor the mail it came in plus I can get cheaper well known and proven supplements from GNC.

Review: in I initially signed up for the free 5 dollar trial of "ripped muscle X" and "elite test360". after reading the fine print, I instantly contacted the company to cancel my order (i still have all corresponding emails) stating that the order had been cancelled. when the parcel came, I marked it as, "return to sender". months later I receive an collection notice from an outside company, "collect pros" for the amount of 175.26. I contact the number provided on the sheet and in the menu option it tells me that if I wanted to dispute a claim, it would have to be in writing of through the website "collectpros.com/disputes" I go to the website and "file a dispute" it instantly told me that that was the amount owed. I try to navigate through their website and cannot fine a contact phone number, only a contact form. I fill out the form, full name, phone number, email...etc.. I hit send and I receive a failure to deliver message on my email.Desired Settlement: I want the billing to be dropped. I never opened the parcels nor did I try them. I have all corresponding emails from "both" (they are the same company) companies with confirmation that the orders were cancelled.

Review: I ordered a trial sample from this company around 25 January 2015 and I called in first week in February 2015 to cancel and request a refund of $87.63 which was charged to my card on 2/3/2015. on 25 February 2015 once I realized that I still have not received the refund yet, I contacted the company and they stated that they canceled the order but could not refund my money because it was more than 30 days, I told them that in their "Trial Sale Terms and Conditions" it states "if you cancel and also return the bottle to us postmarked within 10 days of receipt, your subscription will be cancelled and you will only be charged the initial shipping fee $4.95 , which I contacted the company before the 10 days have expiredDesired Settlement: I just want my payment refunded and subscription cancelled and I will return the unopened merchandise.

Review: ordered a 2 week free trial with the only cost being a $4.95 shipping charge. 2 week later they charged me 87.63 for the free trial bottle saying I did not cancel within the 14 days and return the product. My understanding is that is is a free trial and the product cost for 30 days is 87.63 and that includes the shipping charge. This order was also made on their website that advertises it a risk free trial! I would be happy to return the product but they claim I have opened my trial bottle which cant be returned.Desired Settlement: 87.63

Review: Ordered product and found there was a 'two week trial'. Exactly 14 days after shipping out of their location, I was billed for $80 each for 2 items. This was noted in fine print that was hard to see. But I called and was told we will cancel and cancel reoccuring charges. I was also given a two week extension on a test. I just called 3 days later and made and official request to cancel. I also emailed them. I was told if I let them know even by voice mail I would be fully refunded. I returned the product that same day, but later I found my account charged for both products again.

This charge occured after I was sent a reply by email saying I would be refunded and not charged again:

"Your account has been closed and refunded as of 8/27/13 when you spoke with our supervisor [redacted]. You should have received two emails confirming the refund and the cancellation of your account. You will not be billed further. We have noted that you are returning the products. Thank you. "Desired Settlement: I would like the two charges that were placed to be refunded. The initial call got them to reduce the amount to they charged, totalling $88.32

09/12/2013 ATM Point of Sale 0101213091 RIPPEDMUSCLEX.COM,855-204-7725 CA $43.82

09/12/2013 ATM Point of Sale 0101213091 WWW.ELITETEST360.COM,877-433-2774 CA $44.50

I want to ensure this does not get charged again as they sent a reply last time saying they would not charge the usual re-occuring charge yet did. I fear they will do so again and have already asked my bank to change my card.

Response:

In correspondance with Mr. [redacted]'s request we reset his account after he was refunded for the products. By doing that we restarted his trial periods so he had the proper time to try our products. Mr. [redacted] did properly cancel his accounts before his trial periods expired, and the representative who responded to his email request saw that he had already been refunded and cancelled from the first time he contacted our company, therefore the representative did not cancel the account properly. It was simply human error on our part that he was charged again for both products. We do apologize for any inconvenience this has caused Mr. [redacted]. We have already refunded his account in the amount of $43.82 for the Ripped Muscle X, and $44.50 for the Elite Test 360, as we value customer satisfaction. Mr. [redacted] has been refunded fully in the amount of $88.32.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

For my purposes, having a refund is what I wish and that is happening. But I was told that last time and they charged again. The issue I have is that they can take advantage of anyone claiming these trial periods and starting/stopping them on the date of shipping or shipping due. By taking advantage of dates they can claim a 2 week trial when actually it's a week plus allow for the time it takes to ship an item.

Review: Two to three years ago I was an active duty service member in the U.S. Air Force. During that time I began receiving bottles of Ripped Muscle X's product somehow and charges were being deducted from my Bank of America checking account. I phoned the company and said there must be some mistake because not only am I forbidden from taking supplements; I am also unable to afford such a product. After discharge from service I moved twice. Additionally, I had to close my personal Bank of America (BofA) account due to suspicion of fraud and a security breach. Subsequently, discussed with the company about a possible refund opportunity. Deal was they would refund 1/2 now and more upon receipt of bottles. I moved from Georgia to New York, re-contacted the company to try and return bottles, but bottles passed their supposed maturity date. Customer Service rep, refunded portions of the balances via transaction identification numbers(TID). This was done because merchant would only refund back to the method of payment it had on file. Understandable. Engaged Bank of America and they were unable to do anything because of account closure. Again re-contacted Ripped Muscle X Customer Service and there response was same as originally stated. 'Refund can only be given via method of payment on file.' No other solutions exist apparently. Meanwhile, these transactions have left Ripped Muscle X and been received at Bank of America but rejected and returned to sender(Ripped Muscle X). Again BofA, and they advised with two options. Remedy with merchant via direct check or give them the new banking information. Reluctantly contacted Ripped Muscle X again for proposition but was denied. Now with nowhere to go and no other avenues to pursue; what does a measly consumer do at this juncture?Desired Settlement: Simply rectify the issue without customer being bounced between two apathetic businesses especially if this was not even a 100% legitimate business agreement from an unaware consumer. In the first place.

The consumer placed the order originally on 08/09/2012. This is when they paid the initial $4.95 and this began the 14 day trial period to sample from the initial 30 day supply. Since there was no notification of a request for cancellation and/or a returned product during the allotted trial period, the consumer was automatically billed for the 30 day supply on 08/24/12 as explained in the terms and conditions for which they agreed to. The account had a monthly membership for $87.63 that recurred on 09/23/12, 10/23/12, 11/22/12, 12/22/12, and 01/21/13. The consumer contacted our company on 02/18/13 with a request for cancellation. The account was canceled immediately as instructed and they were sent a confirmation email confirming the cancellation. Based on the nature of the call, the customer service agent refunded a partial charge of $44.00 on that same day. The consumer would have received an e-mail confirmation of the cancellation and refund. The refund usually takes three to seven business days to credit back. The consumer then contacted us again on 08/19/2014. We made an exception and issued three more credits, the remainder of the January charge at $43.63, a full refund of December at $87.63, and a partial of November at $43.82. The total refund amount for 08/19/14 was $175.08. This credit was originally issued back onto an account that was closed by the consumer at an earlier date.

Review: I was told by phone representative that I would only be charged $5 for a trial of supplements and that if I cancelled no other charges would go on my credit card. This company fraudulently charged me $87.63 after I cancelled. I was lied to by their representative and their false advertisment of a free sample on Facebook.Desired Settlement: I would like an immediate refund.

Mr. [redacted] placed an order on 07/16/14 for the 14-day trial of a 30-day product supply. He placed his order online for the shipping and handling cost of $4.95. On the website, he agreed to the terms and conditions twice that verified he was aware he had to cancel within 14-days, or he would be charged for the full retail price of $87.63 for the 30-day product supply he received. We received no contact within his trial period, and he was subsequently charged $87.63 on 08/07/14. This information is verified on our website www.rippedmusclex.com and www.rippedmusclex.com/main/order.php to verify the terms and conditions before he processed the order. The first attempt we had from the consumer to cancel was on 08/28/14. He sent an e-mail to confirm his cancellation, he was immediately cancelled and sent an e-mail confirmation to verify the account had been closed. We do see that he requested a refund, and his request was not replied to. We apologize for this inconvenience and due to this error have issued a full refund of $87.63 from 08/07/14. This refund will take three to seven business days to credit back onto his account.

Review: I saw an advertisement for a work out supplement online. It stated that you only pay S/H. I recently looked at my bank account and I have a charge from then now for $87.63. When I went back to there site to see why a then saw that they have an "auto-enroll" where if you don't call and cancel then they enroll you in there subscription plan. I have emailed them to cancel the service and requested a refund of the the bottle that I have yet to receive. I feel this not a very moral/ a scam to get money out of people.Desired Settlement: Refund of the product and me shipping the bottle, when it arrives, back to them.

Review: I signed up for the very misleading free trial and paid $4.95. I wanted to cancel and saw in the fine print that the product must be returned within 14 days. When I realized this I decided to eat the first month charge of $87.63 since I did not return the bottle. I then tried to contact them multiple times and could never get through to a representative assuming it was just a scam. I emailed a link I found on the internet to cancel and never had a response. They make it so you have to actually speak to a representative to cancel while their lines are always busy and no one ever responds. It is very, very hard to cancel. I assumed the product was cancelled and then got charged a second time for $87.63. I have not even received the second months supply of the product. Since I saw the new charge I called and waited about 25 minutes then finally got in touch with the almost unreachable representative. I told them I tried to contact them multiple times. he said he saw me call in april multiple times but had no record of any email requesting cancellation. I asked to just cancel at that point and refund my charge and he said he could not because the order was shipped. I offered to return the product when I received it and they said they had strict return policies and could not do that. I told them it was a scam and then they went on telling me how clear their policies are taking a hard stance on the matter. Besides the charges and the very misleading trial process the guest service is the worst I have ever experienced. This whole experience has left me with a sour taste in my mouth.Desired Settlement: To refund all charges for this product. My initial $4.99 for the trial, and the two charges of $87.63

Review: Ripped Muscle has unethical sales and collection practices. Originally we consented to a free trial of the product. for the first month. The following month there were charges made to our account from this company and the following month there were more. We told them that we did not want to continue with the service. I called Elite and it had been agreed that half of those charges would be refunded to our checking account. Thinking the matter was over we are now being charged with three more charges- $89.00, $87.63 & $87.63. Totaling $264.24. These charges had caused my checking account to overdraw, so I also have a $25.00 over draft fee.Desired Settlement: A total refund.

The later charge of $87.63 from 01/04/14 may not be fully granted as a result of their dispute and the decision their banking or credit card institution will make according to the authenticity and authorization of the charge.

Review: I purchased a sample of the company's products at the cost of $4.95 per bottle (two bottles total). I am on day eleven of my trial and just noticed an unauthorized charge in the amount of $87.63 debited from my bank account. I never authorized this debit, I don't even know if these products will work for me and what I am looking for. The company's ad stated that I could try the products for "free" if I payed shipping.Desired Settlement: I would like my $87.63 put back into my account and all my information removed from their database as I never want to do business with them again.

Response:

At Ripped Muscle Xtreme, every customer is given the right to try their first 30 day supply without charge for the first 14 days. After the 14 day trial period if the customer is unsatisfied with their product, they are to return the remainder postmarked for return within their 14 day trial period and also contact customer service to notify a request for cancellation. If the customer keeps their 30 day supply after the 14 days, they are automatically billed for their product on the 15th day and then automatically shipped and billed a product every 30 days thereafter. The customer has the ability to cancel at anytime by calling customer service or emailing [email protected]. If a customer needs to contact customer service, the phone number is listed on rippedmusclex.com, the product, the pamphlet, and the package the product is shipped in. The terms are disclosed clearly on rippedmusclex.com where the customer would have ordered their product. The customer has to also click "I agree to the terms and conditions" two times before the order is processed. If the customer does not "agree" to the terms, the order will not process. The terms and conditions are disclosed directly on the ordering website not only on the bottom of the first page, but also highlighted in a large white box on the second page where the customer inputs their card information as well as sent out with the product.
