This is in reference to Complaint # (ID# [redacted] ) [redacted] reached out to us via Facebook to let us know his Facebook page had been changed through YextThis was an unfortunate incident that occurred through [redacted] ' parent company, [redacted] , who is a client of Yext'sUnfortunately, data which was provided from [redacted] to Yext included [redacted] ' franchise location dataThis should not have been included, but unfortunately was a part of an upload Yext then conducted to update location data for [redacted] 's other franchise locations for which it conducts marketing forWhen we received [redacted] ' message, we passed the message along to the account manager for [redacted] , who reached out directly to [redacted] 's Head of Digital Marketing to ensure the Facebook page would be turned back over to [redacted] The Head of Digital Marketing reached out to [redacted] personally to explain what happened and apologizeThe Facebook page has since been updated and is back in [redacted] ' handsIf [redacted] has any other questions, he is more than welcome to reach out to us at any time at [redacted] Thank you,Yext

To Whom It May Concern, This is regarding NYBBB Complaint # [redacted] . [redacted] was having some difficulty claiming her business for free on ***. She was under the impression that Yext was extorting money from her business and had removed her listing. I called [redacted] ... and had a really nice conversation with her on the phone regarding her situation. After explaining that Yext can only power or edit listings for businesses that have paid subscriptions for our service, I was able to walk [redacted] through submitting a free claim for her business listing. Everything was settled with [redacted] during our call and I'm glad we were able to get in touch so I could hear her feedback and I could assist her in going through the [redacted] Free Claims process. To Whom It May Concern,This is regarding NYRevdex.com Complaint # [redacted] I spoke with [redacted] about her situation and how Yext fits into that pictureI have provided a few things for her in this an email as well that will shed a little more light on how Yext works, as well as some information that should help her find a solution fits her needsWe understand Yext isn't the right solution for everyone and I hope I'm at least able to point her in the right direction.Yext, throughout its history, has always been very transparent about how our technology worksI have provided an article which explains how Yext works and what happens when you don't have Yext anymoreIt gives you a pretty good sense for what our proprietary technology does and what life is like with and without YextIt also speaks to the fact that we only have the ability to update a listing if the business has an account Since [redacted] does not, we have no way of editing her listings in any way[redacted] As far as next steps for [redacted] ***, I have provided her with an Excel spreadsheet that contains contact information for the local search sites that we work withThis will help her if she chooses to manually reach out to the sites to correct her informationI also provided her with the names of two alternative services to use to correct her informationThese other services are aggregator solutionsThat means that they submit your business information to aggregators who then distribute that information to tons of different sitesWhile this solution is much cheaper and can be effective, it often takes months and there is no guarantee or lockMy other suggestion to her was to use a local marketing company in her areaThere are tons out there that do a fantastic job and could work with her needsI recommended just digging in and doing some research to see what's best for her and her company.I understand that marketing for a small business is super important and so is her time so I hope this information helpsIf we can be of any further assistance in the future, please do not hesitate to reach out.Thank you,Supervisor of Client Support - Yext

complaintPaige explained that when *** ***’s account was active, it was showing correct listings for her businessWhen an account is no longer active, or when a customer cancels their services with Yext, Yext as a company no longer has access to this business’s information or location data and stops maintaining and pushing the listingsInaccurate and outdated information from across the web can unfortunately undo this information if an account is no longer being actively monitored by a businessThis is what Yext as a company attempts to counteract by giving businesses control over their information and ensure it’s getting pushed and updated to all publishing sites we have direct integrations withHowever, we know *** *** mentioned information being incorrect on multiple sitesPaige took a look at the sites Yext was previously managing when *** *** had an active account, including Yahoo and DexKnows, and the information appears to be correctAdditionally, *** *** mentioned not receiving any calls from the service, but we believe there may be some confusion over the purpose of the Yext softwareYext’s software ensures that business’s information is correctly listed across the internetWe cannot guarantee ranking or additional calls, but we have provided correct and consistent listings throughout *** ***’s subscription with YextIf *** *** would like to continue conversations and learn more about our services and how they operate, we’d be happy to speak with her furtherShe can reach out to *** at any timeThank you

I do not agree with this response. The fact remains that I did pay for an annual subscription and I am very good with the internet. It makes no sense that now that I am no longer active that my accounts are not showing up correctly on the internet. Furthermore, even though they say I was on Dex Media, it may be on their end but I was never able to contact Dex Media directly so from my point of view I was not listed on this large advertising ability. Yes Yext indicates I was listed on over websites but I did not get one single lead let along a customer for this action. Furthermore, I checked under another source similar to Yest and all my listings were correct. How can Yest update listings and then they change as soon as my account becomes inactive. I choose to only correspond through this link.

could have been created from many different compilations of informationLuka was able to find that Yelp and Singleplatform provided the inaccurate data nad that its best to reach out to them to solve this issueAlternatively, Luka recommended claiming this listing through the *** Free Basic Listings programIf *** *** is interested in doing this, she may do so through this scan flowOnce she has finished the scan, she can choose a basic listing on *** on the bottom left of the screen beneath the Yext subscription options seen in this screenshotThis free account will let her submit information to *** directly, which should correct the information on this listingsIn addition, with a *** Free Basic Listings account, Yext will be able to escalate any issues to ***'s engineers if neededWe hope that this helps and if *** *** has any further questions, she is more than welcome to reach out to ***

our subscriptions work, and the options for cancelling Yext subscriptions renew annually unless cancelled within the account or with our Support team, so the recent charge he saw was for the continuation of his service into his second year When *** *** expressed his interest in not continuing the service with me, I cancelled his account and issued a refund I'm glad we were able to get in touch about his account and I'm sorry he did not realize his account would be renewing earlier so this situation could have been avoided altogetherRegardless, this complaint has been settled with both parties satisfied We're happy to help in any other way we can. To Whom It May Concern, This is regarding NYRevdex.com Complaint #***. *** *** had an active paid account with ***, a partner of Yext who is licensed to resell our technology. *** ***’s relationship with *** was cancelled soon after signing up. Months later, during a
time where he had no active paid account with ***, *** *** was notified that there were changes made to his local listing on ***While *** *** was never a client of Yext, I still called him in order to hopefully bring some clarity to the situation and offer my advice and help in any way possible.I spoke with *** *** on the phone and explained the situation he was facing. It appears that his *** listing was updated by one of the thousands of outside sources that have the ability to update local listings. While *** *** believes *** and Yext conspired to manipulate his listing, I explained that this is not possible since there was no active account at that time, meaning that there is no connection or feed to the listing that would allow it to be updated through the Yext technology/*** platform. I offered to show *** *** how he could submit listing corrections for free to *** but he made it clear that he was not interested and continuously denied my attempts to help. *** *** was not happy with my honest explanation of the situation and the call was ended by him. Without paying fees they will continue to spread data on the websites they service These websites show our office is a Physicians & Surgery Practice In reality we are Electricians We refused to pay for them to correct this as it was an error caused by not doing due-diligence Which means we will continue to get marketing calls from random unknown start-ups that harass us to advertise with some unknown website that has nothing to offer
