Hi *** ***,You are correct - *** does direct people to use Yext to update business listings on their site However, this does not mean that Yext is the original provider of that data If you are not a Yext subscriber, we do not have your business's information Yext only has the ability to update listings when a business has a paid subscription It is the only way that the listing site will allow us to sync with the listing and update it Sites like *** and many others direct businesses to Yext to update their listings because they trust the business data that comes from Yext They trust Yext because the data is always coming from the business directly instead of from some other source that could be outdated and/or incorrect.If you do not want to use Yext, I would recommend finding the base data provider that is sending these categories to *** or other sites If you update it there, it could eventually get pushed out You could also try to handle this with the customer service teams of the sites that are publishing the information As far as Yext goes, we would only be able to update a listing if you are a client I hope this correspondence clears things up though and you are able to get everything fixed I would be happy to hop on a call and discuss this with you as well but I have been having some difficulty reaching you by phone Please reach out to ###-###-#### if you would like to discuss further All the best,Supervisor of Client Support - Yext

Unfortunately, any listings that are not powered through Yext's services have not been created or edited by Yext and we are not able to make any changesHannah stated in her email that there are many sources online that can automatically create this information on directory sites such as Whitepages, such as through data aggregators and government recordsHannah provided *** *** with information on how to contact Whitepages' Support Team to have this listing removed from their systemShe also provided him with additional directory sites information in case anything like this should ever happen again. Once again, Yext is trying to make up any excuse necessary in order to not refund the $they fraudulently charged my credit card forThis explanation, which took several weeks, shows that this company is not customer friendlyAlthough their manager I spoke with (Giulia) told me that one of their representatives emailed me cancellation instructions, Yext is now claiming that two of them sent me cancellation instructionsOn top of that, I never even received a receipt, which further proves that this company deceptively charged my credit cardBased on my complaint and the way this situation has been handled, I would stay away and never do business with this companyBasically, Yext stole money from me, has refused to reimburse me after pointing out their dishonest policy and procedure, and is now trying to place the blame on me for their deceitful business practices

So let me get this straight. You acknowledge that Yext and companies like *** (there are others and I have compiled a list) have agreements where data is only updated if Yext provides the update. And you acknowledge that Yext will only update incorrect information if Yext is paid to do so. I stand by my original complaint as unresolved. There is no avenue to correct information being published incorrectly so long as companies are contractually obliged to accept corrections from Yext and have no other resources available outside of that relationship.I am not the only person complaining about this. Yext's own *** page has over twenty similar negative rating complaints beyond my own. ***, ***, and *** have similar negative reviews (with negatives outweighing positives by more than two to one) indicating that this is a common issue with Yext. The *** Attorney General Consumer Protections Division has opened a file and advised that continued activities like this by Yext can result in civil lawsuits for violating the *** Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act as well as criminal actions.To Yext, I say this: Clean up your business model before you and up prosecuted. You cannot lock companies into using your service and then demand payments for corrections to erroneous information

This is in regards to complaint # ID# ***Giulia reached out to *** ***, and as a token of good will, Yext is issuing a full refund in the amount of $for the service that was provided since December *, As Giulia outlined in her last email to *** ***, Yext provides a protective lock on his listings that's made possible through the partnerships Yext has with its publishers. Yext charges for subscriptions because it is a business providing a service, the same way *** *** charges for his services as a businessThe charges are agreed upon at siby agreeing to Yext's terms of service, so nothing fraudulent has taken placeHowever, Yext strives to help its customers in whatever way it can, which is why Yext is offering a refund in this case.We wish *** *** all the best and if he has any further questions, he is more than welcome to reach out to Yext at any time at ***

their information to Yahoo for free through a Yext dashboardI also noted that Yahoo has control over how and where this information is used on their site.I explained the step-by-step process for submitting her information during our phone call, and gave her the Support contact information, should she have any issues with thisShe left with a clear understanding of where Yext fits into this process, and we managed to get everything resolved. To Whom It May Concern, This is in regards to New York Revdex.com complaint #*** *** *** opted to use Yext to update his business name on MapQuest, a site in our Partner network Our technology allowed the *** *** to maintain control over his information while he had the
account *** *** then terminated his service over one year later, receiving a refund for the remainder of the billing term All Yext subscriptions are built as subscriptions and will renew unless cancelled by the business owner Once the account was terminated, Yext has no way to provide the business information and therefore no longer has the ability to control the content on the listing If *** *** would like to update his information without using Yext, I recommend he reach out to Mapquest, the original provider of the incorrect data, or another third party We'd be happy to help provide him contact information for any of the aforementioned parties if he'd like I called *** *** to discuss the situation and we briefly discussed how Yext was an option to manage business listings but was not the original source of the bad data While attempting to help explain his situation and provide my assistance, the call was disconnected At this point, we have already issued a refund as requested and there is nothing else we can do without an active account.All the best,Supervisor of Client Support, Yext

While I have finally been able to sign up for an account, their response is indicative of the main issue with their customer service, they simply do not listen to their customers. They once again repeat the same line as before, "** *** ** *** *** ** *** *** *** ***" As I repeatedly told them, and provided written proof documenting, I never had a paid account with ***, and the free account I did have with them was cancelled on January **. Yet, it took two weeks, hours of my time, and ultimately a Revdex.com complaint to finally get them to move. I don't see that there is anything more to do on my specific case, as I have finally been able to obtain the outcome I needed, but they need to work on these customer services issues
