Roomster Corp. Reviews (694)

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Hello, Roomster.com sent me an email on April [redacted] stating that they were going to give me full refund of $24.95 and that the credit will show up in my credit card account "within 3 business day".  Today is April [redacted] and I still have NOT received any credit on my credit card!  So my complaint has NOT been resolved as of today.  I do not know what else to do at this point.  I've already wasted enough time trying to get back a lousy $24.95, but it's the principle of thing.  This scam of a company shouldn't be allowed to operate in the USA or anywhere else for that matter.  Can you help me resolve this matter?  Thank you, [redacted]

To Whom It May Concern:
We received a Revdex.com customer complaint letter from user Dominique Harris.
She contacted us through our Helpdesk, we have responded right away and sent her all the information about...

renewal transaction, and we sent her a link to her billing history page where she could see that our warning about automatic renewal is very visible and not in small print. Also we asked her to cancel the subscription couple of times, so we can issue her a pro-rated refund on the last transaction. When she finally did it we have issued her pro-rated refund even before receiving a complaint from Revdex.com, so her state, that she is still fighting to get her money back, is false.
Also to provide a great customer service as a courtesy to her we have issued the remaining balance of $3.71.

We consider this matter is closed and waste of Revdex.com's time.

Hello, I have received 3 separate notifications from Roomster indicating that each refund was completed in the amount of $29.95.  However,   I have received only one refund of $29.95 dated 11/** however the other two refunds for $29.95 each are still outstanding.  I look forward to resolving the additional refunds. Thanks [redacted]

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because I did not actually receive the email that Roomster issued because it is through [redacted], which still linked to my old email and I currently do not use any more. My email is now [redacted], which I use for everything. They sent the email to [redacted] which is an email account that is actually deleted. If I would I have received the email maybe I would have been able to cancel the subscription in time but why does that justify anything that Roomster is doing? I want my refund because in all honesty the site should be shut down for their lack of customer care, terrible website management, and deceitful subscription renewals. Have you looked at all the complains filed against them? A well maintained business would never let it get this bad. Or atleast change is fault policies for its customers sake. But Roomster could care less about it's customers that is why they don't have a number to contact; and hide behind a help desk that just tell you exactly what you signed up for when you clicked a button that they flaunt in front of your screen. Then make us, their customers, feel like we asked them to stick their greedy hands in our bank accounts when all it takes is a click. Why should we be wrongfully charged and told that it's our fault! Customers seek for services and product from businesses that we can depend on to fully satisfy us! And I can tell you I am not a satisfied customer from Roomster! No one is satisfied at Roomster with the collection of bad reviews I have seen looking deeper into them. It's daunting that they just think they can get away with this! "We consider this matter closed". That is their response at the end of their statement because they believe their system they have placed to scam people into taking their money is flawless. That response is not a response I want to receive after they take my money! That's a response you get from criminal not from a business. This injustice is intolerable to me. Why should the customer feel like its their fault a business gets to take money from them because they didn't open an email? Or because they clicked at bubble that said 3 free day trial? I am no longer speaking for myself but others now. The more I have to deal with Roomster the longer I find myself getting upset at the way they run their operations. I don't want to deal with this any longer than I should have to. Any other website I have every dealt with treats their customers and their money with respect. I don't have to wait two weeks just to get money when I'm the unsatisfied customer. I want a full refund. I do not want to give money to a service as vile and bad as Roomster. This matter is not closed, Roomster.

I really don't see how [redacted] is the best security solution. I appreciate the credit of $1.37 in response to my complaint, but I was not even contesting the charge.
My problem is that for months I was searching for a room and the majority of what I had to wade through in my search was roomster scams. If your site truly is so plagued by mysterious [redacted] scammers, it may be time to shut down this domain and migrate to one that is NOT full of security holes. Literally I have not had a single shred of success with roomster, on or off site. And if you really are doing your best to improve security, and you aren't a total scam - why are there SO MANY phony proxy websites that redirect to your website? [redacted] etc etc... What's more - both of the aforementioned sites link to your supposedly new and secure [redacted] login page. and guess what, when I [redacted] both of these site - EVERY SINGLE LINK is just a link to a scam checking website/blog. Not a single one comes up as a legitimate, or a subsidy of roomster corp. And what's more - roomster itself. Your whole Revdex.com page is just complaints about your business.
My goal here is not to earn a dollar off your corporation. I simply want to put on record an illegitimate business practice; so that other people don't have to waste so much of their valuable time on a site that will get them nothing but frustration.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory enough to me and the matter has been resolved. I am happy to have a complete refund and will check my banking account to ensure that the money is returned. Thank you for helping resolve this complaint, I don't believe this was a waste of time as I have come to see that I am not the only one who's had this issue with the same company. I hope that the others who have had this issue get the same resolution I am getting. Once again, thank you for your help.
Sincerely,

complaint letter from [redacted].   His statement that he was not aware that he will be charged recurring transactions until he will cancel the subscription is not correct. We state it on the Helpdesk message we have sent to him (see the screenshot “Helpdesk Message 1”) and on the Roomster Receipt (see the screenshot “Receipt”).   He was able to cancel his subscription, and he did it AFTER scheduled renewal took place. (see the screenshot “Billing”).   We had never send him an email that he will receive a full refund, he was allegeable for a pro-rated refund. (see the screenshot “Helpdesk Message 2”)   He requested a pro-rated refund and he charged us back through the PayPal, even though we have a money back guarantee policy. He charged us back but we still issued him a full refund, even though he wasn’t allegeable for it, and we did it even before receiving this letter from Revdex.com.   So ALL his statements are falls.      We consider this matter is closed and waist of Revdex.com’s time.

Hello,
I am not harassing, I clicking on the 'Reject Business Response' and I will continue to do so as I still not not believe there is any rational reason for a person to promote a site(http://[redacted].com) which only redirects to Roomster.com.  As there are still bait & switch ads on Craigslist that list "[redacted].com" I do not consider this complaint resolved.

She had never canceled her subscription, even thou, she was informed that she has to cancel the subscription before Monday, January **, 2017 to end all future billing. We have sent the receipt to the email she provided to us ( [redacted])  Also, we have sent a Helpdesk message with the same information, that she had access to 24/7 at her account. (Please see the “Helpdesk” screenshot.)   When she contacted us, account representative explained that recurring transaction happened because she didn’t cancel the subscription and informed her how to do that. But instead of that she disputed the charge with [redacted]. We had to respond to her dispute. We had provided all the information regarding that charge to the [redacted] and [redacted] resolved it in our favor. Which clearly shows that it wasn’t an unauthorized payment.    We consider this matter is closed.

[I do not recall seeing this email and maintain that the business has deceptive advertising in their sales process. Based on the number of complaints through Revdex.com for the same problem,  I would urge Roomster to change how it does business.]
