We were quoted a specific price (inclusive) for broadband service and a fixed IP address by two different Rise Broadband representatives, one of which was a sales person on a recorded line When a technician came to install the service, the actual price was about $higher if we accepted the fixed IP address I paid $not including the fixed IP address and complained to two "supervisors" for Rise Broadband Rise Broadband investigated our issue and they admitted that yes we had been quoted a $all inclusive price including a fixed IP address by both representatives and yes they had this promise on a recorded line, however they were not going to honor their agreement for broad band service and a fixed IP address for $ They offered some credits by way of apology and "re-training" for the representatives including the sales person on the recorded line Rise Broadband also gave us thirty days to determine if we wanted to continue the service at $a month

I had been a very dissatisfied customer of Rise Broadband I have filed with the Revdex.com previously due to poor service and increasing prices When a viable competitor entered the area, I canceled with Rise Broadband and signed up with a different Broadband service I wrote to the President and Senior VP on 11/30/advising of my reason for leaving Rise Broadband and also to inform them that I was not paying any kind of cancellation fee due to how incredibly dissatisfied I had obviously been with their service, yet their bills continued to increase I never heard a word back, then I suddenly get a collection letter from a collection service

Illegal(?) unethical marketing scheme--
Rise Broadband recently enrolled me in their "Enhanced PC Care" program, which, on the surface appears legitimate and usefulHowever, it turns out it is an unsolicited automatic oto a monthly fee (see the 5th 'paragraph' below, beginning with "After your free 60-day trial...")If this is not an unlawful practice, it should beHow many of their customers will unwittingly (and unwillingly) be paying this extra fee monthly without realizing it?

In August of I cancelled my internet service with Rise Broadband because of non-stop latency and bad connection issues This was AFTER we'd had a technician to our home no less than times during the course of our short relationship trying to resolve the issue What it came down to is they oversubscribed their tower and we were told there's not anything they could do I have a credit on my account of $that should've been refunded within days of cancellation but, to date, I've still NOT received my refund because Rise has not come and picked up their dish Since August of 2016, I've called them six (6) times asking about the status of the picked and my refund where each time they've re-scheduled a tech to come pick up their dish I've offered to drop the dish off, they said that's not an option

Last summer, while living at *** *** *** *** *** **, I purchased a commercial service from Rise Broadband In November I began looking at purchasing property at *** *** *** *** ** and moving In December I contacted Rise Broadband and requested a signal test before closing to insure they could continue to provide service They did not respond for until February We closed on February They looked at the area where we were moving to and advised us they did not have coverage there They said because we did not disclose we were moving before beginning service, we had to pay a $3,early termination fee It is now in collections I have contacted an attorney and he believes we have a good case for not having to pay the fee

Rise Broadband sent me an email stating that they now offered an "Enhanced PC Care Program" service and that I had automatically started my day trail with said program The email went on to explain that after the day trial period I would automatically be charged $monthly to continue using the service I never asked for or authorized this service, or any additional charges for my account
I believe this is a predatory measure, trying to add charges to people's internet accounts with the hope that they will not notice I almost didn't read the email because I was not interested in the service, but once I did I found I already had the service forced upon me, and that after two months they would expect me to pay for it

Rise Broadband stopped providing interest service on May 1, as I requested with paymentI then called to confirm the cancelled service on June 10, As part of the cancellation they wanted to charge me for the one month and ten days of internet service when they were not provide any services

Contacted customer service week of Feb 12; tech sent out Feb 16, moved the receiver and the speed improved
A few days later the same slowness happened again; called cust service Feb 19th and told them I wanted credit on the bill to reflect the service I've been getting They said after the second issue is completed a ticket will be turned in for credit I was told the issue was given to Tier service The tier staff would invigate, contact me, and then billing could be credited to reflect the service I was not contacted and again called Rise cust service I asked for an update on the repair The staff had no update, would not contact Tier on my behalf, and kept telling me they would contact me for resolution That was weeks ago

I was very disappointed with these services and company They were the only service provider where we lived - so we were stuck They are part of the reason we moved Super slow speeds, and not dependable I had a contract for unlimited data - but when I changed my service to point to a different tower to try to improve service - they removed me from that contract without informing me and said they couldn't put me back on I spent $a month after that for Internet alone I called frequently - but there was nothing they could do for me - except keep digging in my wallet for more money We left and had to pay money to get out of the contract - that they actually broke long before we moved!

My wireless connection has been intermittent to non-existent for six weeksI contacted Rise Broadband two weeks ago and was told it was due to a network issue that would be resolved within hours The problem was not resolved within hours and I attempted to contact Rise Broadband using their provided telephone number on September and The automated answering system put me on hold, and on hold I stayed for 20-minutes each time without ever having a person answer I then attempted to email Rise Broadband at their provided email addresses and, again, received no response
I finally reached someone in billing today who told me the problem was on-goingHe offered me a $credit for the loss of service I commented that I thought this number was unacceptable due to the ongoing lack of service that I continue to pay for He said that was all he could do and asked me to hold for their technical support group I then spent minutes on hold without anyone responding

I closed my account with Rise Broadband 8/14/with no outstanding paymentsToday I received a phone call from a bill collector saying that I owed money to Rise but could not tell me what forI called their customer service to figure out what the charge was for and was told that it was for missing equipmentWhen I was closing my account I made several attempts to get them to come pick up their equipment but they were not available to do soAs a result it came time for me to move (I do construction work and live in an RV traveling around) for my next job and had leave the equipmentI contacted an agent with Rise Broadband and explained the situation and made it clear that I was leaving the equipment with the front office of the RV park and that if there was any issue locating it to contact me via cell phone or emailI received no complaint and so believed the issue to be resolvedI have come to find out that they went to pick up the equipment this August, a full year after I l

We were charged for a plan that provided speeds up to mB per second while seeing speeds less that mB per second After contacting Rise several times about the slow internet speeds with no solution from technical support, were finally told that the tower that serviced our address could only deliver Mb per second They said we’d have to call Customer Service and request to have our service plan changed to match the speed they were providing! So, for the years or so that we had service with them we were charged for a service that they could not possibly provide

The billing practices of Rise Broadband are as crooked as I've ever seenI began with a small provider in Illinois that charged $65/month flat fee for unlimited broadbandWhen RISE bought out this provider, the monthly rate stayed the same -- or so they told meHowever, a new bill processing fee of $per month was addedThen the unlimited data stopped and they charge $for each additional GB of usageSo it's not unlimited anymore, but I was never notified of that until I saw the new charges on my billRecently, a new scam was introduced called "PC Care Support." It was automatically added to my bill at $per month, without my permissionI had to call and cancel the service after apparently receiving a month of "PC Care Support" that I didn't ask for and didn't wantNow I'm paying a "carrier recover fee" of $per monthI'm looking at a $65/month bill that is actually now $I've never been more motivated to seek out competitorsThis is the most dishonest, greedy company I have ever dealt withI've got a family and we live on a limited budgetWe can't afford to be scammed out of an extra $30/month

Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever dealt withCompany failed to withdraw an automatic payment in November I contacted the company and was told they would take a double payment in DecemberThey didn't withdraw the payments in December I once again contacted them and made a one time payment after they erased the late fees then they also withdrew a double paymentI contacted them again and was told they couldn't reverse the chargesSo I cancelled the service on December 15th and was told I would have a refund within a week or soand they didn't need any equipment backToday is February 12th I called rise and was told they need the outside equipment back and they would send someone out in two days to pick up the equipment then they would send a refund out but they want to charge me $because I called a payment in$isn't much money but it's the principle at this time considering that I had the same service since when it was prairieinet and great service til it became rise broadband and the customer service is the worst I have ever dealt withI would never recommend rise broadband to anyone
