Thank you for your positive review and for being a valued customer of SD Bullion!

I've been doing business with SD Bullion for some time and have never been disappointed. Their wide range of products are beautifully designed and are of the highest quality. They have coins to fit any budget. If you're going to invest in precious metals, invest in something tangible. Otherwise, you don't own it. Now is the time!

Thank you for your positive review and for being a valued customer of SD Bullion!

Good Service
Great Selection
Very Fair Prices
Quick order fulfillment
Numerous orders and never a glitch

I've dealt with several of companies that sell gold, silver, etc. In the past I've used APMEX, JM Bullion, Money Metals Exhchange, Penn Metals, and SD Bullion, and I always come back to SD Bullion. I've gotten more value for my money, better delivery service, and better customer service from SD Bullion than from anyone else. Not to say the others are bad companies - they're relatively competitive with each other - it's just that my experience with SD Bullion has been outstanding. And I've purchased from them many times.

SD Bullion is nothing but first class in all aspects.

I was looking for the right place to buy my silver. I stumbled upon this company when I was looking to buy silver. I noticed that their prices were very reasonable. I wasnt that thorough at the time and I bought silver from another place, and then realized that I paid more than if I went to SD Bullion. From then on, that is the only place I will buy from. The silver always came when it was supposed to and in perfect condition. I will only buy from this company.

The service has always been timely and I don't have to be concerned about not getting the metal I've ordered unlike some other outfits. When I thought there was an issue with one order (out of many), they were right on it.

Excellent organization. I have become a regular customer and have never been disappointed. Good quick service at reasonable prices.

Timely delivery and products delivered exactly as advertised. Extremely satisfied!

I have purchased from SD Bullion several times over the last two years. I have always found price and service outstanding.

Low prices, high standards, the best of both worlds !

Thank you very much for your positive feedback of SD Bullion. We truly value your business!

I have bought several times and I have been very happy every time. Great values and I will keep buying from SD.very easy and fast delivery. Thank you SD

I really enjoy buying silver from SD Bullion. The prices are fair and the shipping is fast. I highly recommend SD Bullion.

I've dealt with many bullion fealers on the internet and SD Bullion is far better than its closest competitor. I typically send a Postal M/O to save in fees, and it is processed and shipped typically within four days. Anyone who's dealt with other online dealers know that this is above average time. My order updates are prompt along with the tracking number. The random year, BU coins are always in great condition and some even would grade in the MS69 area. Overall, SD Bullion has earned my repeated business and trust.

Great source for precious metals...........

I've ordered several times from SD Bullion and I've been very happy with their service. They have been fast with shipping and the items were well-packaged and discreet. Their prices are comparable to other suppliers, so I don't have a problem with that, especially with the market fluctuations.

My complaint is that SD Bullion used false and misleading advertising to selling their products.
The coins I purchased were advertised as "American Silver Eagle Coins Random year BU". BU = Brillant Uncirculated, a coin that has never been in circulation and retains all of its original mint luster. The coins I received were so tarnished and blackened that you could see it through the semi transparent plastic cases. I sent them two e-mails and received two responses.
The condensed version of their responses were, that silver can tarnish, it does not lower the value of the coins, and the coins they shipped were the low premium bullion products that they advertise. Not true. The coins were not what they advertised and not what I paid for.
They also offered me a one time courtesy to repackage the coins, run them to the Post Office, and pay to have them returned, in the hopes of receiving the BU Coins that I ordered.

Desired Outcome

They have already removed the BU grade from their Random American Silver Eagles so other buyers will not be mislead. I am seeking a 50% credit on the coins I purchased. I would also like their assurance that should I purchases any advertised BU grade coins from them in the future, that is what I will receive.

Hello sir,

I apologize for your experience here and hope I can address this issue and get a reasonable resolution for you.

About BU:

The term BU is well debated in our industry on what exactly it means. If you go online, everyone has a different definition. Why is this? The reality is the grading scale was made for older coins from the US Mint like silver dollars. This is where the term circulated came from. Because old quarters, dimes, half dollars and dollars were actually circulated in commerce. Circulated does not mean another investor has never owned the product before. Since modern American Silver Eagle coins have not been used in commerce, technically speaking, every Silver Eagle coin is considered to be uncirculated.

The brilliant side of the equation is again, very debated within our community. Why is this? Because its a term that was made for modern coins. It seems like most forums online agree Brilliant would fall on the scale of of an MS-60 - MS-63. These grades are lower than the perfect MS-70 grade.

"The coins I received were so tarnished and blackened that you could see it through the semi transparent plastic cases." It is very common for backdated Silver Eagles to tarnish on their edges/rims. So much so that you can even see it through the mint tubes like you mentioned here. Tarnishing is a common process in silver that takes place over time. Some tarnished coins even sell for very high values on a collectible market. Since tarnishing on the edges is common, we'd prefer to see images of the coins obverse and reverse to make sure there's no major deficiencies on those areas.

Resolution Offer: If you'd like to exchange these coins, we can do that for you. Please reach out to us at [email protected].

A note on the Random Year Silver Eagles we sell.

Because random year Silver Eagles can contain any date from 1986-2017, it is quite possible and can be expected that a coin minted in 2008 will not have the same luster as a coin minted in 2017. We sell these Random Year Silver Eagles at very low premiums over the spot price. For this reason, we are not selling the coins based on a "grade" but for the silver content in the coins. We apologize if you thought we were selling these coins based off of us professionally grading each coin. With that being said, we are also not selling cull Silver Eagles through our Random Dated SKU. This is why we ask for images of the obverse/reverse to look for major deficiencies that would be found in a cull product.

If a customer is looking for specifically graded Silver Eagle coins, they can find those MS-69's and MS-70 Silver Eagles in our Graded Silver Eagle category.

Thank you for buying your gold and silver from SD Bullion!

Hello SD Bullion,

Lets start with the term BU Grade. Most professional people in your industry would describe a BU Grade coin as one that has never been circulated and retains all of its original mint luster. Also interchangeable with Mint State. No professional in the industry, except for SD Bullion, would describe a BU Grade coin as a Low Premium bullion product that is Tarnished. The only one debating what Grade BU means is SD Bullion.

The following are other questionable statements that SD Bullion has made since I contacted them about the problem.

(1) SD Bullion said that "BU is a general term not really a Grade". However, they currently advertise their 2018 Silver Eagles as Grade - Brilliant Uncirculated or BU. (2) SD Bullion said "If you are buying for silver value this has zero impact on the value". However, if I were buying for silver value, I would not pay a premium for a Grade BU Coin. (3) SD Bullion said "We sell these Random Silver Eagles at very low premiums over the spot price." However, at the close of business on 8/2/2018 they advertised their 2018 BU Grade Silver Eagles at $17.63 and their Random year Silver Eagles which are not Bu Grade for the same price $17.63. They also offered their Freedom Rounds for $16.08, which is what I would have purchased if I were just buying for silver content. (4) SD Bullion said "Since modern American Eagles have not been used in commerce, technically speaking, every Silver Eagle coin is considered to be uncirculated". However, they currently advertise their Random Year Silver Eagles as Grade-Circulated. (5) The most compelling evidence of their Bate & Switch policy, is that within hours after I contacted them, they removed the BU Grade from their Random Silver Eagles. As I said, they are now selling them as Grade-Circulated. Their entire inventory of Random Silver Eagles went from BU Grade to Circulated Grade in just a few hours and you have to go to the bottom of the page and click on Details to find the Grade.

It seems clear to me that what SD Billion did was Unethical and perhaps Illegal. I do believe that any reasonable person who reads the facts I presented, which I can document, would conclude as I did, that SD Bullion used False and Deceptive advertising to sell their products.

I will agree that they do have competitive prices, if you get what they advertise, but the trade off is that SD Bullion has no Integrity, and all buyers should be aware of that.

Thank you for your response.

Random silver eagles are currently trading at $0.20 below current year. The price variability will continue to fluctuate with current inventory and market conditions as well the underlying market price.

Our integrity is backed behind our industry leading Doc's Satisfaction Guarantee. Our team has offered to exchange the coins at no cost to you as outlined in our Guarantee.

Thank you for buying your gold and silver from SD Bullion.

To: SD Bullion

Your response to my rebuttal was pathetic. Anyone buying Bullion knows that inventories change and the spot price of silver goes up and down but neither are relevant to this case. Also not relevant to this case, but of value to your customers, is knowing that your BU Grade 2018 Silver Eagles are only 20 cents more than you circulated Grade Random Silver Eagles. They should also be aware, as I found out, that they may not receive the BU Grade coins they were sold.

It is also clear that SD Bullion does not have the same definition of Integrity as the rest of the world.

The rest of the world would describe Integrity as Honesty and Truthfulness. SD Bullion's description of Integrity is Doc's Satisfaction Guarantee which is to use False and Deceptive advertising to sell a product and when you get caught, you offer to take them back.

In closing, the Revdex.com has several eligibility requirements for their members, one of which is "You follow governmental and Revdex.com advertising laws and codes." I believe that you violated both and your continued membership in the Revdex.com is shameful and should be terminated.
