SD Bullion Reviews (%countItem)

I ordered 2 oz of platinum with my debit card and received an email with said contract. They tied my money up for 8 days and then cancelled my order.
The company sent me an email confirmation of my order/contract and said my order was being processed. A couple days later I received an email about unprecedented order volume and delays. 8 days later I call the company and a rep told me my order was fine and being reviewed. I tell her some details and she checks with her supervisor and infoms me my order was cancelled by the company some excuse about verification and that it was for my protection and couldn't tell me anything and hung up on me. They never once tried to contact me. I call back again and talk to *** head of the department with the same results. He told me I was lucky to be talking to him and if the markets weren't like this he wouldn't talk to me at all. The company raised it's premium by at least 12 times my contracted price. They tied my money up for 8 days during a volatile market and refuses to honor said contract. According to our contract if I cancel my order I will be charged a fee, 3% of the total and any damages the company might incur. Why do they not have to follow the same guidelines if they do not honor our contract?

Desired Outcome

I want the company to honor our original contract.

SD Bullion Response • Apr 06, 2020

This order was declined as a suspected fraudulent transaction which is our right as a company. There is no contract and the customer should read the terms of use.

Customer Response • Apr 06, 2020

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
If it was a suspected fraudulent transaction how come my financial institution wasn't contacted and neither was I. I made the purchase with my debit card. If the company was trying to protect their customers how come my bank and or I wasn't notified about this transaction if they thought it was illegal? By law the company needs to fill out a suspicious activity report (SAR) just like the bank. They cancelled my order and raised their premiums. How come a user agreement isn't considered a contract by said company?

SD Bullion Response • Apr 07, 2020

The situation was explained in detail over the phone with the customer. This order was cancelled by our internal fraud prevention system. That is not something we would report directly to a customers bank as there isn't any effect channel to do so. A SAR is irrelevant to this situation and not an appropriate action nor a legal requirement on a blocked credit/debit card transaction.

This does not happen often but it is stated in our terms of use (that are agreed to at the time of placing an order) that we may cancel orders in this manner. We have a right as a company to protect ourselves against what is deemed as a potentially high risk or fraudulent transaction. If an order is declined by the verification system it is cancelled.

I made a purchase on March 8 and it is now the the 19th, 11 days and they are not shipping the product. They made it impossible to communicate.
I made a purchase on March 8 and it is now the the 19th, 11 days and they are not shipping the product. Funds were removed from my account on the 10th by eCheck. They made it impossible to communicate with at least 1 day between responses plus attitude and no one is answering their phone, 3rd time I got through though. They have an extremely bad mentality towards their customers, its easy to do so when they have the leverage by cashing checks. My lesson was learned, pay the extra fee to use credit cards. During this time those funds could be used to purchase food and supplies since apparently I would not be receiving my silver.

Desired Outcome

I want a full refund or delivery of product.

Customer Response • Mar 23, 2020

They have completed a full refund for me and satisfied my request. Thank you

We placed two large orders for bullion on Thursday, March 12, 2020. We were NOT told at that time that there was a security check on new customers that would delay the shipment of metals but were told that the shipment would be made within 3-5 business days since the coins that we ordered were IN STOCK. We wired the funds directly to SD Bullion and those funds were received by SD bullion on Friday, March 13, 2020. This would put our ship date no later than March 20, 2020 which is a Friday. Because this is a large shipment, they ship overnight which would put our shipment out no later than Monday, March 23, 2020. We have been in contact with SD Bullion every day since we placed the order and they continually postpone the date of our shipment day because they have become overburdened with a large amount of orders. Now we are being told that the mints have become backed up because they simply cannot get the metals, however, if it is true that the bullion was in stock at the time of order, as they had told us, it should be easy for them to get our order shipped in a timely fashion. In our last conversation with SD Bullion, which was within the last hour of this writing, our shipment was pushed out to April and after pressing them, we are now being told that that shipping date will be March 27, 2020. At this time, I would be very cautious using SD Metals as your bullion dealer because they cannot give definitive answers. I will update this post should our shipment be delivered within the 3-5 day window as promised.

SD Bullion Response • Mar 24, 2020

SD Bullion does not show any orders connected to this email.

We are however working around the clock with all of our team to fill orders. These times are unprecedented and we are doing our best to continue to serve thousands of customers and meet their precious metal needs. We appreciate this feedback and would like to help them as long as we can get their order numbers.

SD Bullion, breach of contract sales. Sales team admits order was short and not completed. Refuses to send the 30 silver 1 ounce rounds to me.
SD Bullion owes me '30' ounces of silver, no matter if they are 1/2 ounce generic silver rounds or 1 ounce generic silver rounds. The sales contract is for '66' ounces of generic silver rounds. However per the website of SD Bullion for either the 1/2 ounce generic silver rounds or the 1 ounce generic silver rounds that: Purchasing from a generic product SKU allows SD Bullion to ship the choosing of the inventory we have on hand at the time of shipping. There is no guarantee to which product design or brand you will or will not receive. Receiving the '60' 1/2 ounce rounds of generic silver was SD Bullions choice. So this I accept and will keep in my possession and will not send back to SD Bullion, since I do not have any guarantee that my order will ever be fulfilled, especially since the order is incomplete, and having to fight for what I purchased, which is just an additional '30' ounces of silver to complete the order of February 29th, order # ***. Now it is apparent that I was telling the truth after SD Bullion staff investigated that only '36' silver ounces was shipped to me. ( '6' 1 ounce rounds and '60' 1/2 ounce rounds ). I have been treated as if I am to be blamed for breaching the sales contract, even though I did everything in good faith. The way everything is going and the lack of concern from SD Bullion and staff, I probably will never have this order completed. This has been an extremely humiliating and bad experience, especially since this was an easy order to fill, which still has not been completed.

Desired Outcome

Just send me the '30' ounces of silver, the difference that is owed to me. I am very upset, that I (the customer) have to go through this, especially since on my order status it indicates that order #*** is complete. It is incomplete and still pending, since SD Bullion does not want to send me what is owed to me. I will give SD Bullion one week from today, 03/12/20 to have sent me the 30 ounces of silver that is owed to me. If not I will start legal proceedings and get every legal authority involved. I don't care how much or how long it takes. SD Bullion has breach the sales contract and stole and has not made good on their sales promise.

SD Bullion Response • Mar 27, 2020

SD Bullion has responded to this claim and correct the error that was made during shipping. There was no intention of ever shorting this customer what he paid for and due to human error this shortage took place but as stated above has been corrected.

Customer Response • Mar 30, 2020

Yes, they finally did honor their contractual obligation, after I had to contact my US Congressman and fill out the paperwork with both attorney generals of the states of Michigan and Ohio. Customers need know that they as customers have legal rights and that places like this can and will be shut down that try to steal from the customer.

This is my first time buying from SD Bullion and it will likely be my last. I paid by phone using an e-check. So far, they have charged me 3 times for my purchase which is over $5,000 each transaction and over $15,000 total. This has greatly over-drafted my account and I have been charged overdraft and bounced check fees from my bank for this. I am in shock and disbelief that an organization can allow this to happen? I wrote to their customer service and am waiting to hear back because it's after their business hours. BE WARNED that if you buy using an e-check, they can repeatedly take the funds from your account and easily overdraft your account. I just pray I get the full refunds and that they pay for the overdraft fees I have incurred because of their mistakes.

SD Bullion Response • Mar 04, 2020

SD Bullion is aware of the duplicate submission of an echeck by one of our customer service representatives. The issue has been brought to the attention of his manager and we are working to make sure the appropriate training and safeguards are in place to prevent this from happening again in the future. The customer will be refunded in full as well as the penalties incurred to the customer with the bounce fees it caused.

Out of the thousands if orders placed with SD Bullion, an error of this nature is extremely rare. We apologize for the issue you experienced.

Thank you for buying your precious metals from SD Bullion.

Customer Response • Mar 13, 2020

I would like to update this review because of how quickly SD Bullion handled this issue. While they did charge me over 3 times for my order of over $5000 - they worked quickly to refund my account and cover my bank's overdraft fees. I was able to call and talk to someone and she started handling it immediately. It did take about 1 week to get my money refunded. They also gave me a small coupon to use on my next purchase for the trouble. I have to say it was a stressful experience - my bank card was declined at the grocery store because of this, but the way they handled it earned my trust. I received my order and everything is as expected. Thank you SD Buillion.

Always delivered on time! Addressed all issues promptly. Will continue to use them to buy precious metals.

I have used SD Bullion exclusively since 2017. March of 2020 will be three years since my first order. During this time I have steadily increased the number of transactions, now totaling almost $100K. Every transaction from the first to present has been beyond professional; an absolute MUST in the precious metals business.

I was an early customer of Bullion Direct, Austin, Texas. Only through the grace of God was I not a victim of that company, as a little voice told me to exit in 2007/2008. The subsequent news made me VERY concerned and cautious about doing any business in the precious metals space.

Added to this was the several transactions that I conducted with places like Northwest Territorial Mint (NWTM), another scam and subsequently failed business with prosecution and jailing of its principals.

I can express my view of SD Bullion, Inc. with one simple statement: The Paradigm Within The Precious Metals Arena.

Great products at a great price. Customer service is top-notch!

Excellent vendor with competitive prices. I've always received my products in a good condition and timely. I'll be returning for more!

Done several orders and had no problems. Product has always been "as described". Prices are always low and communication great.

I have ordered from SD Bullion several times and each time I have had a favorable experience and have been very pleased with the coins or rounds I have purchased. Items come quick and are like they were described. Great business to deal with.

Ordering process was quick and easy. Product was beautiful and arrived quickly.

first time purchase from sd bullion the time it took from ordering to receiving was the fastest from any other type of business I have dealt with, I will order from them again

I have been dealing with this company for some time now and I can say that I have never been disappointed. A christian company that I can trust. As a Baptist minister, I hardly recommend them. ***.

Perfect Site, products delivered as described. Shipping is great and discrete! Very Effective.

The purchasing experience and products from SD Bullion were both excellent. I have no problems giving them the highest ratings as they are well-deserved.

Excellent, friendly service. Quick, no hassle turnaround. Will gladly do business here again!

After years of buying experience SD Bullion is my go-to vendor.

SD Bullion is my 'go to' place for ordering. They have several different ways of paying which makes them more convenient and easier to deal with than other sites.
Customer service is cordial, helpful and handled very professionally.
I'll continue to order from them in the future.

With very few exceptions, I have used SD Bullion for all my PM purchases. I buy on average three to four times a year. They usually have the lowest price over spot (with the exception of the 'lost leader' sales/promos from other companies), and have an extremely large selection. If I want bulk ASE's for stacking, I'm not forced to buy a slabbed Eagle and pay the markup. I've never had an issue with delivery or order fulfilment. I will--and have--recommend SDB to others.
