I chose Semper Solaris after looking at several other companiesThe product they offer is top quality from what my research has shown They back it up with a "bumper to bumper" warranty that includes laborOther companies drop off labor many years earlier which drives concern of the reliability of the products
A few items that I liked about their productFirst, the inverter is part of each solar panel Since this is covered for the years as with the panel, I do not have to worry about failure Second, individual inverter should help with overall power production throughout the yearSecond, there is a single roof penetration for the power cables and a conduit is used internally as much as possible This leaves a short external run of conduit on the exterior walls of the house Paying attention to detail, they paint this external conduit to match your house color
Setting up the contract was made easy by Mark A*** He did what none of the other companies did prior to wanting you to sign the contract He inspected my power panel and its location to ensure we would have no additional expense surprises later Others expect you to sign the contract and then they perform this survey Possibly leaving you stuck with large additional expenses
Michael C*** was my project manager He kept me well informed throughout the process from me getting my HOA approval to the final inspection by the city before SDGE approved permission to operate He followed up after the project was complete to ensure I did not have any issues and informed me that I could contact him anytime in the future should I have any questions He also provided me some photos of the installation preventing the need for me to climb onto my roof
Beside the smooth installation and the expected quality of the system, I must state they were able to give me a comparable system and pricing as other competitorsI would recommend Semper Solar to anyone looking at buying or leasing a solar system to reduce their electric billing

I will keep it simple After researching several companies, we went with Semper Solaris They talked a good game, and sure know how to present themselves to get you behind their mission statementWell, what should have been a job accomplished in no more than visits in less than a month took visits and several months It started with the system not producing as promised This resulted in a crew coming out and replacing some faulty equipment In so doing, they found workmanship errors from the first crew they had to repair Well, withotu boring you, I would find an error (inverter computer not communicating, all panels not registering, weather tight junction boxes NOT being weather tight) and each time a crew came out, they also found other errors from prior repair teams that I had been unaware of After visits over multiple months, the system finally seems to be working right NOW, we get to management At one point upper management was fully admitting the errors were all due to poor communication and poor management at a branch level and that I was a "victim" in this "learning process" Supposedly the entire local maagement team that handled my case was replaced However, shortly after this point, corporate management essentially did a telling me that the errors were all 'cosmetic' only, the system worked as designed since the day it was turned on, and that basically I shouldbe happy that after paying them upfront I should be happy they FINALLY figured it out and got it working right When I pointed out that the system most surely had NOT operated to specs the day it was turned on and took several visits to function at full cpacity, their answer was 'We are not responsible for that as it was the parts supplied to us by our vendor that failed' WHAT?? I, as a consumer, did not choose this vendor or parts! YOU did I paid you for the project, you installed the parts, and you are who came out when the failed to function I paid you, Semper Solaris, you ARE responsible to the consumer for the failing of your contracted vendors parts Well, at least my neighbors saw with their own eyes the fiasco of working with Semper Solaris, and are steering away from working with them The only reason I gave stars instead of is beacuse at least now the system is finally working right, but what a long and tiring road to get here Steer clear unless you enjoy long painful projects and needing to ride a company to the very end to make sure they do what they say they will

2) Ask to meet with Roland Obana
Roland is very knowledgeable and answered every question I could throw his way (from how the system would be installed, what it would look like, how much money I would really save, warranty info, etc) He really made us feel comfortable about this investment Thereafter, Semper Solaris did their job and executed just like Roland promised Things don’t always go this smoothly with other contractors but these guys are the leaders of solar in San Diego for a reason Follow my advice and don’t look back I’m saving a TON of money now!

Semper Solaris sold this system and THEY should make it right
Additionally, Semper Solaris has now charged us $for installation of the replacement inverter When the inverter was installed over a month ago there was no mention of any charge to us It is such a "coincidence" this bill was sent the day after our review was posted on Yelp Hmmm

Semper Solaris proudly advertises itself as a "Local and Veteran Owned Solar Company", but if you're looking for honesty and integrity, you won't find it with them

Not quite a year before I got my system from Semper Solaris, I had gotten a quote from a Pretty Darn Rotten & Slimey competitor, supposedly something like "best ever, never before, never again" limited time pricing Semper beat that price by nearly $2k, and IMHO, with better panels, if you look at *** panel degradation warranty, vs ***, and nearly all other firms After dealing with that other company's baloney sandwiches I learned I need to read between advertising/sales pitch lines better, a "best" offer or effort for one company can still be pretty pathetic in comparison to real class operations like SemperNever before never again limited time pricing is still technically true even if prices keep going down, it's never going to be that high again! I've gotten so good at reading through the BS, I can create my own"Every other quote I got beat that BS advertiser's price! (nevermind that I only got one other quote, although even that's still not a good sign, either I'm extremely lucky, or their "best" price is not hard to beat) Just take your time, do your own research to your satisfaction, shop around (don't believe the hype "we're the best" "lowest prices", blah blah blah, at least get 1! other quote) and don't let anyone rush you, if they really want your business you should be able to get an equal or better deal a week or month laterSemper was a little slow getting final permitting done and permission to operate from the utility, but rather than passing blame and making excuses, they cut the balance due on my system to cover the utility bill for the ~months extra! Now that's customer service! When I look at the current Revdex.com profiles, 100+ positive reviews & complaints for Semper, vs positive reviews and complaints for that competitor, I realized that ultimately I made the right choice Both are supposedly Revdex.com A+ but when you look closer, it's like day and night, dark and light, wrong and right

When I look at the current Revdex.com profiles, 100+ positive reviews & complaints for Semper, vs positive reviews and complaints for that competitor, I realized that ultimately I made the right choice Both are supposedly Revdex.com A+ but when you look closer, it's like day and night, dark and light, wrong and right
