As with all repairs made in our shop, we need to be able to first reproduce and verify the complaint in order to make a legitimate repair recommendation.  We have never been able to reproduce the customer’s complaint with her vehicle.  We understand her frustration, but it appears that...

most of the vehicles problems are centered on an alternator replacement performed at an independent repair facility.  Unfortunately, we also have to duplicate a concern before an extended warranty will step up and pay for any rental or towing expenses.  We have several man hours invested in trying to reproduce this concern, and have not charged a dime.  We offered to continue to try and duplicate the concern, but customer picked up vehicle.

This vehicle has been certified and you should have gotten the certification paperwork and the doors and locks and windows have been inspected for properly functioning and have passed the inspection which is registered to the vin# of the vehicle.The only difference would be to install a plug in the wiring so that it can be easily disconnected upon attempting to remove the doors, which I'm surprised the previous owner didn't have the shop which they did the work , didn't include that. As a goodwill gesture I will go ahead and have my technicians install the quick disconnect to your vehicle for all four doors at no charge to you, as an appreciation of your business. After talking to my managers they informed me that you did resigned the paperwork due to the additional discount they gave you for the inconvenience that they had caused you due to this small miscommunication, at the time you left your vehicle here for us to fix and everything was explained to you and you left on a good note. I will have my staff call you upon completion of the work and if you like we would be more than happy to deliver your car to you if you choose so. After reviewing the complaint and the vehicle history we are unable to verify the condition of the bumper and mirrors when the vehicle was brought in.  We rarely spend a large amount of time testing all of the systems on a vehicle to verify if they are working properly or not.  The...

amount of time that would take would be very inefficient for our customers and our staff.  I am aware of the support we gave the customer to get his engine replaced at no charge under warranty, when the evidence of severe overheating was overwhelming, and the suspected failed components were not covered by his powertrain warranty.  The evidence pointed to not only a failed thermostat that was only covered for 36 months or 36000 miles, but also that the vehicle had been driven for an extended period of time with this condition which led to severe damage to the engine.  South Point Dodge worked diligently to insure the engine could be covered by Chrysler when they had declined the claim numerous times.I am willing to work with Mr. [redacted] to repair his concerns at a discounted rate due to his recent engine replacement, but I am quite sure that the systems he is having issues with are totally unrelated to the engine and cooling system items we replaced for him free of charge.

Jeep parts expediters to locate and receive from suppliers.Our adviser has been in regular contact to inform Mr. [redacted] of repair and parts status. As Mr. [redacted] was informed during diagnostic inspection, the wiring harness was in a very deteriorated condition with exposed wiring. This condition shorted some wiring and consequentially damaged the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) circuits. After all efforts to locate a replacement harness were exhausted and it was no longer available, the wiring harness was removed and the harness was rebuilt. The PCM was on a National Back Order and also added to the time delay. The alternator failure could not be diagnosed until the vehicle could be started after wiring was repaired and the PCM replacement. South Point has provided Mr. [redacted] with complimentary transportation during the final phase of repairs. We are also installing a radio, that he has supplied, at no labor charge and providing the installation kit also at no charge.As the circumstances and time delays are beyond our control we respectfully decline additional monetary adjustment.  [redacted]South Point Auto Group

This vehicle's warranty was restricted by the manufacturer after it was found by a Dallas area dealer to have contaminated fuel. The customer elected to not have repairs to the fuel system. The manufacturer has specific repair procedures for contaminated fuel systems and as a result of those procedures not being followed, the manufacturer restricted the engine and related fuel systems warranty.
The vehicle currently has DEF fluid that is below the minimum required operating specification. The DEF fluid requires periodic maintenance and must be replenished with fresh/new fluid that has been properly stored and prior to shelf life expiration. Since the DEF system was operated with out of specification fluid, there are additional items that will require replacement to return the system to optimum performance standards. This condition is considered a maintenance item and subsequent negative impact to related components due to lack of maintenance is not covered under the manufacturers limited warranty.

The vehicle Ms. [redacted] purchased was a demo vehicle. We sell these as new cars because they have never been titled, this is common practice. She also states that we spot painted this car. That is not what we did. We have receipts from our body shop where they in fact painted the whole bumper as she requested.We have tried to make Ms. [redacted] happy and feel we have done everything that we promised.

I'm sorry you feel like we haven't done everything in our Power to obtain a loan for you. I have attached a copy of your credit application that was signed by you that gives us permission so submit your credit to obtain a loan and the number of banks clicked depends on the accuracy of the customers information and again the lender stated the open vehicle on your credit is joint and because thew other person is not on this loan you are required to trade that vehicle and you stated it was paid for and yet they haven't received proof of payoff so they required a trade to obtain the loan since the credit was very weak.We have tried to help you in every way and have followed all procedures to the T. You have a great day and good luck.

I certainly understand the frustration Mr. [redacted] must have, however, Mr. [redacted] did not test drive a truck with a Aisin transmission and told our staff he wanted a truck exactly like the one he test drove only in another color so that is what we sold him. $10k more and he was extremely concerned about monthly payment. We extended his loan terms to the maximum length that is offered just to hit his payment. There is no way that we would have even come close to his wishes to stay at that payment with the upgraded transmission. We have offered to trade him out of the vehicle.

I am rejecting this response because:Attached is a copy of the complaint information and letters sent to South Point Dodge Austin TX, Ray Huffins Dodge Plano TX, FCA Corporation, the Revdex.com Dallas and the US EPA.As you will see in the attachments I have made several efforts to...

have the proper repairs to my Ram 5500 4X4 Chassis Cab at both Ray Huffins Dodge in Plano TX and South Point Dodge in Austin TX. The issues with my truck are related to the federally required emissions that is operated by the diesel exhause fluid (DEF) system that is suppose to make the truck compliant with federal emissions out put.Not only is then DEF system required by federal law to run and perform according to the guidelines but it is also illegal for the consumer to remove or mess with other than replacing then fluid as needed.If the DEF system is not working properly the computer makes the truck to go into limp mode where it will not go over 5 miles per hours and is incapable of continuing to pull any trailers that may be attached at the time it goes into limp mode.As a result of the continued failure of the DEF system I have been stranded at least 3 times and have had to tow the vehicle to South Point Dodge on 2 occasions.Because the truck was purchased for our volunteer service and our clients are all disabled including myself the failure of the DEF system and the refusal of the dealers and manufacture has caused a safety issue with the operation of the vehicle with the last time in use I was stranded more than a 100 miles from home with several disabled veterans in the sweltering heat posing health and safety issues that just be allowed to happen. Despite numerous attempts to have the issues resolved with Ray Huffins Dodge in Plano, South Point Dodge in Austin and the manufacture we have not been able to have the proper repairs.Both the dealers and manufacture would have you believe that all of the problems are related to a one time water in the fuel light that came on around 08-15-2015 while traveling to Dallas to move our last remaining personal belongings from our Allen house we sold.However as you will see in the attached documents that after the 08-15-2015 visit to the dealer my truck has been in the shop several more times and there is no findings of a error code or warning light for water in the fuel. Why you might ask. That's because I did not have 800.00 for the dealer to drop the tank and clean it. As recommended by the dealer I lowered the fuel tank and empted it and flushed with fresh fuel .I then took it to South Point dodge and had the fuel filters changed as a percausion. Afterwards the warning light and error codes related to the water in fuel did not and has not been documented by either dealer. Yet they continue to refuse to make the appropriate repairs of which none are related to the initial water in fuel Light.To date my truck remains at South Point Dodge in Austin and the dealer and manufacture are continuing to refuse to make the appropriate repairs under the manufacture or Federal emission warrantee. Therefore we are asking for your assistance in stopping the dealers and manufactures act of bad faith and fair dealing.Because of the excessive hardship and the refusal to make the proper repairs not just once , twice or even three different time its more like 6 different trips to the dealer where it remains to this day unrepaired. So at this point the only reasonable action would be a forced buy back so that we can move on and purchase a proper replacement that will not continue to leave me my family and our disabled veterans we service.Thank Yo in adv. ice for your help to resolve these issues.

We apologize for the mechanical issue this vehicle ended up with.  When we advertised the vehicle we did not there was any issues w/ it, Again, this is a pre-owned vehicle, we have every customer sign a Buyer's Guide during the purchase agreement. This guide says you are taking delivery of the vehicle AS IS...However, as soon as the issue was brought to our attention we immediately took it to the specific Manufacturer's dealer to have it fixed. We also have provided the customer a brand new car for transportation while his is in the shop.
