I have been trying to get my Mortgage Insurance (PMI) dropped for months.
I have been bounced around to 4 different representitives, each with a different story as to why they never got my correspondence. I finally decided to send my letters certified, since no one had ever heard of me or seen my emails, even though I had gotten a few responses. When one of their reps would actually provide their name via email they would never get on the phone with me to discuss next steps for dropping PMI. After several months I got a letter stating that they would not be dropping my PMI without an explanation or even a persons name on the letter.
The standard for dropping PMI is 80% LTV. Per their own website my LTV is 75%.
