The student aid center scammed me out of dollars from me for a fraudulent forgiveness contract
student aid center stated that if the loan forgiveness contract was not approved I would be refunded the dollarsWhen I called to cancel the process the number was disconnectedI am unable to get in touch with them

I paid them for years (6) payments of around $each to put me in a forgiveness program with NO INTEREST accruing if I was re-employed
If have gained no forgiveness of any kind plus my interest has been accruing ever sinceAll they did is what I could have done myself, obtained forbearance

I had my last payment declined in January and have had no luck reaching customer serviceFeeling as though this was all a scam

I called to get more details about the program and I was taken through a process to "pre-qualify" me for debt forgivenessI came into this thinking they were associated with the Government, as they mention programs by Obama and CongressIt took more like minutes and I was being asked all kinds of personal and sensitive info (SS, DL, Address, Mother's Maiden Name, City I was born in, Income, Job details, Adjusted Gross Income, DOB...etc)I stated previously that I was only looking to get information on possible programs, but we kept goingAt one point on the call, I was asked about a FSA ID from their websiteI stated that I didn't have one and then the rep created one for meI had no idea that this was creating an ID under my name with the Department of EducationThis instantly give them access to your loan information with the Government and other personal infoI certainly would not have given them permission to do so, if I knew they were a private entity with no association to the Government at all
After going through the process a little more, I felt that something was not right and told the rep that I needed to review the documents before making any decisionsAfter the call, I came here to check out the companyI wished I would have done that first! Lesson Learned! I then logged onto FSA using the user name and password *** rep created for meOnly to find that NO ONE BUT THE USER SHOULD CREATE A FSA IDAccording to the FSA website, the security of your FSA ID is importantYour FSA ID can be used to:
-Electronically sign Federal Student Aid documents,
-Access your personal records, and
-Make binding legal obligations
I immediately disabled the FSA ID, have decided not do business with Student Aid CenterLuckily, I didn't share my financial details, but I am now extremely concerned about the other details that were givenAt a time when ID Theft is so high, I hope that their policy on privacy within the organization is held with high regard
Things to Know:
-Student Aid Center is in no way shape or form associated with the Government and have only been in business for a couple of years
-You will be paying a service fee for several months, which will not go toward you actual student loan
-Your loans will be given to another lender with new termsTerm which are not discussed
-Repayment is more than payments (years)Lowering your monthly bill a little, only to extend the number of payments does not save you money
-Forgiveness is not guaranteed and I wouldn't bank on that remotely happeningGo through Government agencies for this type of forgiveness
-You can apply for IBR and other payment methods with your current lender for free

This autodialer continues to dial from different spoofed voice over IP telephone numbers so as soon as you block one they get another one and harass you from that one
