This company is amazing! [redacted] went above and beyond anytime I had a question, concern, or need. He not only assisted me with my needs, but helped me get my payments so low that I can actually start saving money each month now! I had over $23k that I needed help with and I'm so excited that I'm now in the process of getting into their other programs as well. Totally use these guys!

Review: This company required access to my social security number, driver's license number, bank account/routing numbers, place of work and place of address. I believe the company is attempting to commit identity theft to unassuming customers, under the guise of a student loan assistance program, and they attempt to collect additional fees not necessary for loan consolidation processes.Desired Settlement: I want my information purged from the system and for this company to be investigated for potential fraud and identity theft. I want the 5 unauthorized transactions refunded ASAP!!!!!!

Student Assist Plus reviews any and all complaints to ensure the best-possible customer service is being provided to our customers. We reviewed Mr. [redacted]’s application however he is clearly mistaken as we do not offer the service he discusses in his complaint. Further, we don’t require any of the personal information Mr. [redacted] states that we asked him for. Student Assist Plus is a member-benefit program for students who are already enrolled or are in the process of enrolling with a third party for other services. Since he has already been refunded by the company he contracted with, there is nothing for Student Assist Plus to resolve. We wish Mr. [redacted] the best however we feel that since he has been refunded in full already, no further action is required.

Review: They promised to pay off my student loans with a lower payment; they took money from me but none of the money went to pay off my student loan debt.Desired Settlement: I would like to be funded all of the money they took from me and wish for the business to be closed.

To Whom It May Concern:Student Assist Plus is a membership-services company. For $29.99, we offer a subscription for Credit Monitoring, Identity Theft Monitoring, and Tax Hotline. [redacted] is a subscribed member for our service. However, we do not charge any upfront document preparation fees as the complaint describes. Student Assist Plus accepts referral business from many different types of companies. Some of which may offer the type of service Mr. [redacted] is referring to. However, our company does not offer this service. We have contacted the client about his subscription service but unfortunately we are unable to address his claim for the $600 since it was directed toward the incorrect company. We would be glad to resolve his issue with his subscription service if he can return our phone call back at [redacted]. Until we have resolved the matter, we will cancel out his membership until he advises for it to be reinstated.Thank you,Dispute Resolution Department

Review: This company contacted me about my student loans. I had been looking for loan forgiveness programs for nurses who work in non profit organization and who are considered public service workers. This company sent me notification in the mail, I called and inquired about their services. They told me that I could pay them (student assist plus) 600 dollars up front and 30 dollars a month for the nxt 10 years and all my student loans would be forgiven. Ok, 3600 dollars versus 40 thousand, I took the offer. 9 months into the program I get a letter from the department of education telling me it's time to renew my income based repayment plan. I am confused as to what is going on so I call to investigate the matter. The representative at the department of education has never heard of this company and tells me that there has been no paper work filed by them on my behalf. The only paper work they have for me is a request for forbearance, something I can and did file on my own. Why would I pay some company a total of 868 dollars to file a forbearance form me. So, I was instructed by a rep. At the Dept. Of Ed to cancel this service that it appears to be a hoax. I called Student Assist Plus and asked that my services be cancelled, TWICE. I am then treated rudely and as if tho I am an it because I asked for a cancellation confirmation number, and got the smug reply " mam, I am the cancellation rep. You do not need a confirmation number, I don't know what you are talking about". They have told me three times now I will receive a cancellation confirmation email.... still waiting.. this company is bogus and preying on people with massive amounts if student loans, and with the hopes of getting some type of debt relief. They should be made to report that they are only filing papers that you can do yourself for free. I want my money back. All 868.98 of it.

Hello Ms. [redacted] and the Revdex.com,Thank you for reaching out today. As always, great customer service is of theutmost importance to Student Assist Plus. We’re sorry that you were unhappywith the services of our company. We will take your suggestions and find waysto improve our services and knowledge of our products to our clientele. Also, amanager from Student Assist Plus has reached out personally to Ms. [redacted] inorder to discuss her claim.Just to clarify, our membership plan is only $29.99. The initial consolidation/upfrontcost of $600 was for the Student Loan Education Center. Student Loan EducationCenter connects us with borrowers that are on an income-driven plan. The reasonis so that we maintain one’s recertification needs annually. Student AssistPlus is an optional service and clients are free to cancel membership at anytime.Under the $29.99 Student Assist Plus membership, we provide our clients with assistanceon document preparation for federal student loan payments. With all the confusinginformation regarding student loan consolidations, repayment plan changes,forbearance/deferment, forgiveness, and discharge programs, we act a resourcefor one’s student loan solution needs. We complete, review, assess, and submitpaperwork on the client’s behalf to the Department of Education. In addition,we provide consultations over the phone on how to ensure the lowest paymentpossible will be rendered as well as be completed on time to the Department ofEducation servicer. Third party services are used all the time: the car wash, a gardener, a taxaccountant, a babysitter, etc. In the same instance, some borrowers wouldprefer to use our services instead of doing it on their own. In regards to therepresentative at the Department of Education, servicers can misinterpret theservices we provide because all of the facts are not being given. We are not a hoax.We provide an invaluable service, should one choose to retain it.Along with our client’s monthly membership, clients are enrolled in thefollowing services (depending on your enrolled program):-Tax Hotline & Preparation Services-Credit Monitoring-Identity Theft Monitoring-Roadside Assistance-Fitness Discounts-Doctor by Phone-Dental Discounts-Pharmacy Discounts-Everyday Savings (Grocery, Shopping, Dining, Movies, Auto Services, RentalCars, and Recreation)These aforementioned benefits do not get as much recognitionas it should due to misinformation. As you can see, the student loan solutionsbenefit is only one aspect of our program.Again, we do apologize that our membership program was notcommunicated properly as well as the frustration you encountered when speakingto a customer service representative. We will look deeper into this matter. Weappreciate your time in reading this.Thank you,Dispute Resolution Department

Review: I chose to re consolidate my student loans through Student Assist Plus. They charged me around 700 outright for their "services" and have been charging me monthly to handle my loan account. What they failed to tell me was that NONE of the money they were charging me was being put towards my loans. I recently discovered that no payments have been made on my behalf on my loans. As a result, my loans have accrued substantial interest and my credit score has been affected.Desired Settlement: They have done nothing to help me with the stress of my loans. They should be ashamed to say they offer student debt relief. They have merely postponed it, then compounded it. I am outraged. I would like all of my money back and want nothing more to do with them.

Review: In the spring of 2015 I received one letter at my parent's address in VA, and one at my current address in NV from the TFSC group. The letter gave me information and a phone number on how to join their loan consolidation program. I eventually called them to get more details about the program. [redacted], my loan representative, explained to me that I would need to pay a $700 entry fee to get into the program. He said based on my income, my payments towards my loan would be $0 for one year. When I reapplied next year, it could slightly increase if my income did. He assured me that it is very difficult to do the paperwork on my own and remember when to reapply, so he suggested that I join pay $29.99 a month to Student Assist Plus. Student Assist Plus would do all my paperwork for me and make sure I am reapplied on time. So I did. However, I was still receiving letters from Navient saying my temporary forbearance period was about to end, and how much and when my next payment was due. When I called the TFSC group, they told me that this was because my consolidation would still being processed and that's why I was receiving these notices. And that they would put in another request for a short forbearance. With a bill coming up soon, I called Navient. They told me that my paperwork had not even been finished. I finished my paperwork for loan consolidation over the phone with them. The representative from Navient assured me that they do not do any business with TFSC group, and she didn't even know who they were. She told me that what TFSC is offering is fraudulent because the paperwork they did I could have done all on my own, especially since they never finished it. I called and cancelled my services with both TFSC group and Student Assist Plus.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund from both Student Assist Plus and TFSC group for claiming to do something for me that I could have and did finish on my own. I also would like all of my information removed from both of their systems. (e.g., my social, bank account info, Navient account information, EVERYTHING)

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I appreciate the speedy response. However, I feel that I should receive a full refund of $199.96(all four payments made to Student Assist Plus). Instead of just $59.98 (a total of two $29.99 payments).

Regards,

Review: I was mailed a letter from Student Assist about how I could save money on student loans and have loan forgiveness. I called the number and talked to a [redacted]. he mentioned that I could consolidate my loans to where all I would have to pay is $30 a month for my student loans and that money was to take care of all the interest over a period of time. he mentioned in total I would only be paying back around $8000. I was also told that their was a start up fee of $670 to take care of the paperwork. they had me talk to three different people to obtain my driver liscence, social security number, address, bank account numbers, and address. I also had to fax my 2013 tax returns and email a picture of a letter with my name on it (for proof of residence) as well.

After a few months of no response I recieved a random email of how I was enrolled into the Student Assist progrm and would start to be deduducted $30 from my account. The only problem is that they would never tell me when that would happen. I have had one $30 fee taken from my account so far.

Then I recieve a letter from my old student loan company about the reconsolidation I had proccessed. I called them thinking it was a mistake. The Student loan company told me that I had applied through a third party.. I explained everything that Student assist plus had explained to me and she told me that all of it was a lie. she stated That I still owe all of my student loans and the $30 a month was really just a service charge for them to do what I could have done for FREE! So now Im angry that I have been tricked out of $700.Desired Settlement: I would like to have all my money refunded to me in full. And to have whatever accounts/profiles that were set up in my name cancelled IMMEDDIATELY!

Review: I got a letter in the mail saying I was eligible for my federal loans to be consolidated with this company. I called AES and they never got any application to do so from them almost 3 months later after being on the phone with them for almost 2 hours talking to different people. All they did was take $600 from me to put my loans in forbearance for a couple months and sign me up for some credit monitoring that will cost me another $30 a month. I filed a report with my bank and called AES about my student loans. I was told I'm more than likely out $600 that was taken from my account as some processing fee, and that I could have applied myself for free through them for income based repayments. This is a scam!!! What kind of person takes money from people like this who are struggling with their debt as it is?! I'll be filing a police report as well tomorrow morning.Desired Settlement: I want my $630 back that was taken out as payments for consolidation, as well as this credit monitoring fee for $30 a month.

Student Assist Plus takes any and all complaints seriously. We have a dedicated compliance team to review all call recordings and file information in order to ensure we provide the highest-level of customer service. We would like Ms. [redacted] to know that, first of all, we have initiated a full refund on her behalf due to any inconvenience she experienced. However, had Ms. [redacted] simply called our customer service department for an update, she would have been told her application would be filed shortly. We help thousands of clients with their applications and would simply not be in business if we are a "scam" as Ms. [redacted] states.

Review: When I was contacted by this company offering a consolidation of my federal student loans, I was initially very content with my service and the promises that were made to me, but at this point I suspect it was a marketing ploy to entrap struggling student loan borrowers. Student Assist Plus offered to consolidate all my federal loans into a single payment for which I had to pay over $600 as a "processing fee". They told me they would put my federal loans into forbearance once that payment once received. I made it in increments of around $200. All the while, I sent multiple emails to the company requesting confirmation my faxed forbearance form had been received since it was described as "urgent" that I do it as quickly as possible. I received no response via email. I called, and spoke to numerous representatives. Aside from general apathy, I was given the impression verbally my forbearance document had been received. I received no email, letter, or phone confirmation. I called back and spoke to a different person a couple weeks later. I had to fax the forbearance document in yet again. Finally, I received confirmation from my loan holder FedLaon, but it was backdated all the way to February when the original conversation with Student Assist Plus took place, well before I had any conversation with them through email or otherwise that I had signed any forbearance document. Now, my forbearance ends well before my understanding of it, and it is causing me to dramatically reassess my finances.

I feel deliberately misled by Student Assist Plus. If it is truly a misunderstanding on my part, which I do not believe it is, then they have failed to provide clear guidance to those they promise to "assist". It feels predatory. They are an unaccountable organization I would never recommend to anyone. I'm sorry I ever agreed to consolidation through them.Desired Settlement: I want my federal student laon forbearance beginning date to be adjusted to when Student Assist Plus confirmed receiving the document which is April 1st.

Review: This email follows a letter I have sent to complain about service I recently received from TFSC Group and RAM customer service. I called TFSC on October 22, 2015, to find out how to deal with my student loan. [redacted] came on the line and explained that I would pay a fee to process my loan and that I would not be charged any other fees- I opted out of the 29.99 and signed new paperwork and verbally opted out. I spoke to them several times and they assured me the correction had been made and no deductions would be taken from my account.

I called to explain my problem to them several times, and they assured me the loan would be processed and I would be paying 303.00 on my student loan- monthly for 10 years. 349.00 has been deducted twice form my checking account with the final total taken out on November 30, 2015. I have recieved no services for my deductions and deductions that were not authorize dhave been taken out. I have called and emailed with no response form either compnay.

I expected a much higher level of service from this company, and I am quite disappointed. Because I do not want to spend any more time on this problem, I have sent emails and letters canceling services immediately, and I expect a full refund of 29.99 form RAM and 700.00 form TFSC for the withdrawals. I emailed them I would be informing my friends and family and the Revdex.com about this experience.

I do not authorize any furher transactionsDesired Settlement: I wnat my money refunded because I have received no services and I d=opted out of services from RAM

Thank you for your swift response and for placing a notice on my account. Please understand that whomever claimed to represent you was from the number I called and did require that information. If the company does in fact send out mailers to help students, there needs to be a disclaimer on the notice assuring recipients of the legitimacy of the company. Also, there should not have to be "closing costs" to switch a student from one servicing company to another, this creates a high amount of tension for students like me, who already owe significant debt.Thank you again for your response. Regards,

Review: I received a very legitimate-looking mail correspondence to my new apartment's address stating "Student Loan Consolidation & Payment Reduction Program". They did not deliver on either. It turns out that after I gave my information such as SSN, birth date, banking account number, etc. they used it a means of preparing a document and to deduct me $599 for a "closing loan" procedure which I would need to pay now before entering this new consolidation to receive benefits. I even questioned about this before agreeing but the person I spoke with seem calm, confident, and with enough convincing as to why it is necessary, I went along with it. All a scam. Additionally, they would charge $29.99 per month for their services. Since I have a significant amount in loans to pay off, I agreed to the $29.99 monthly charge because I thought it could end up saving me more money in the long run if it guaranteed a lower interest rate and reduce by payments on a monthly schedule. The only thing they did was have me sign a 22-page document online, fill out a Federal Forbearance Form (which is a legitimate form) but they used that to forbear my current loans while never transferred my loan debt over to their company to manage. All they did was provide me with forms to fill out which is their "service" and were banking on raking in money from me on a monthly basis. My loans with FedLoan Servicing are currently in forbearance for a month but when I start repaying them again, any unpaid interest that has accrued - which all of this mess is caused by Student Assist Plus - will become part of my principal. At this point, I will be paying interest for previous interest that became merged with the principalDesired Settlement: For this company to be shut down for good. To have a "closing fee" for a loan is not legal. I just had high hopes that by paying this fee, agreeing to a monthly charge, and providing this company my personal information that I would have my federal loans consolidate by them and pay a much lesser interest rate as well as a lower monthly payment.

Review: I was contacted by Student Assist Plus by mail, claiming that I may qualify for government benefits concerning my student debt, including loan forgiveness. When I contacted the company they asked for personal information including my SSN, drivers license number, FAFSA pin #, address, bank account and routing number, and other information as well. The company was going to help me to consolidate my federal student loans but wanted to charge $599 for switching my loans to a new providers as well as to charge me $29.99 monthly for their services. Review: Student Assist Plus approached me about consolidating my loans into a $0 monthly balance based on my income. What they neglected to tell me was that all they were doing was filling out some forms that I could do myself and charging me $600 and then $30/month to do it for me. I found out five months after approving this that they hadn't even finished filing the forms out correctly for me, and my student loan account had gone into collections for lack of payment. DO NOT TRUST THEM. Call your loan company and ask for income based repayment and you can do for free what they are trying to charge you money for.Desired Settlement: I would like all of my money back for not telling me I could have done this myself and especially for not even providing the service they said they would.
