Our AC went out over the weekend with temps in the upper 90s and a heat index of 105-110 degrees. Superior came out on Sunday and did what they could to limp us along. Their estimator came out Monday and we selected a new unit for a very reasonable price. The install was done Tuesday and we were all set. The technicians were all fantastic - courteous, knowledgeable and personable. They did a clean install and picked up any trash or boxes when they were done. Before each visit we got a call to confirm the appointment and letting us know when the tech was on his way to our home. Wouldn't use anyone else for my HVAC needs!

Service was quick which was appreciated in the summer heat.

Beyond that I had a less than stellar experience. The main installer was rude towards the end of the install. Additionally rather than truly understanding the required code in the city they insisted on “err on the side of caution” and install a large air grate at a less than ideal, unsightly, space. Upon inspection, the inspector said it was completely unnecessary per city code. He didn’t even inspect for it. It only came up because I asked him. Upon finishing we walked through the system. I asked about straightening the bent and broken fins on my brand new condenser. I was told “oh that just how it is, that will happen over time anyway.” While I understand that it may happen in the future when paying 7k+ I’d expect it to be undamaged. You don’t buy a brand new car with door dings, “oh you are going to get door dings in the future anyway”.

Superior sent me two surveys, text and email, asking my rating. I gave 1/5 stars. They then followed up with a letter asking for a “positive review” here. Here is an honest review.

We are sorry that you thought your experience was less than stellar and that our installer was rude. Those things are not the norm as far as feedback from our customers.
In terms of the city code... our installer displayed the math used to determine if the combustion air vents were necessary. Your room was less than 400 square feet. With the BTU size of the furnace and water heater your room would have needed to be almost twice that size to not require them by code. We confirmed this yesterday with the supervisor of St. Louis inspectors in the city, so we have no idea why your inspector would have told you that they were not necessary.
Hopefully in the future you will see what our other customers see... that we are a quality company who has been in business for almost 50 years with many happy customers.

Hello ***,
We understand the condenser unit installed had some bent fins. The fins on these condensers are extremely malleable and can bend slightly during the manufacturing and shipping processes. Unfortunately, it is something we – or any other HVAC company - cannot prevent from occurring due to the material used in these units. However, this will not, by any means, affect the overall performance or efficiency of the unit.

I had AC service provided to me by the subjected company in 2013. It came with a 10 year warranty. Sounds good but now here we are, 2020 and I'm having AC issues yet again. I had some last year a couple of times and thought they resolved it after coming out of pocket despite my warranty. This time I'm told that I need a compressor and another part that is covered by my warranty BUT I have to pay over 2k dollars. I simply asked the technician to provide me with the documentation/bid and was told in his words "I just told you and that no documentation could be provided but that total is for labor". That not only sounds like garbage but is so unprofessional. I did not have them install a new unit for it to have constant issues and to endure be price gouging. This makes no sense and I don't know if this is how they treat their seniors or women as if we don't know any better. What I do know is I've been out of air for 2 weeks and forced to look elsewhere as my warranted provider is scamming me. I'm a senior with a heart issue and the heat in my house is inhumane.

Superior installed *** packaged unit on
September 11, 2013. It was paid for by a St. Louis County Home
Improvement Program. See original invoice
attached.The unit came with a 10 year parts warranty and a
1 year labor warranty. This is clearly stated on the original invoice
attached, as well as the *** warranty information attached. Both
documents state that the customer will have to pay for everything connected to
a repair, except a part that may be under warranty after the first year. Labor is not covered under
warranty after the first year. In June of 2019 we told the customer the unit had
a refrigerant leak. We did a leak check and found the leak in the
reversing valve. See invoice attached. We quoted a price of $2,465
to cover the labor to change out the reversing valve and to add the new
refrigerant. Customer never had us do
anything more, so we never made the repair.The next time we went there was June 20, 2020
. She called us for a no cool call. She had someone else out there
who diagnosed that compressor was bad. We agreed that the compressor was
bad, but we also noticed that someone had soldered
the reversing valve. She must have had this done to stop the leak, in
2019, rather than replace the valve. The soldering of the reversing valve may have caused the
compressor to go bad. Regardless we quoted her $2385 to replace the
compressor. Again explaining that the compressor is under warranty as a
part, but that the labor, refrigerant and evacuation, and filter dryer are not
under warranty. See invoice attached.Customer asked our office for the quote on the
compressor replacement and it was sent to her the day she asked for it.
Please see document attached.The part’s warranty is good with any authorized
*** dealer. Knowing this it is not likely that an authorized
dealer sodered the reversing valve.The HVAC system is 7 years old and the customer
has never done any routine maintance on the system, with us, no spring check up
or fall check up, which is a requirement of *** to keep the warranty
valid. This is a problem in itself, as we could find issues earlier if we
were there for routine maintenance. Again, see *** warranty
information attached. This is similar to not doing routine maintenance on
your car and expecting the auto dealer to cover a repair.We are a Factory Authorized Dealer and have 48
years of experience. We have been in business
since 1972. We operate our business
according to all business guidelines set

our customers are very happy with our work. Unfortunately in this case
this customer is unhappy with the labor warranty which she thinks we should

in business since 1972, so for 48 years. We operate our business

work. Unfortunately in this case this customer is unhappy with the labor
warranty which she thinks we should cover. She did not pay for any labor
warranty beyond the 1st year... so she is asking for something
she is not entitled to, nor did she pay for.No other dealer
is going to cover labor and parts that are not covered by the warranty under
warranty either. They have no way to recover their costs.

Ben and Austin were punctual and did a good job installing the system in my condo unit.

Superior did a wonderful job! Patrick was very personable and thorough when he came out to look at our AC. We had to replace our AC and Superior had many different financing options. We scheduled the installation of our new AC and Superior was able to come two days early, which was great because it was 90+ degrees. The installers were quick, knowledgeable and did a great job of cleaning up. We are very pleased with the service from Superior.

Superior is just as the name implies. I needed a new a/c system, and it was installed this past Monday. The two men who did the installation were very polite. They laid a tarp down across my family room floor as their original plan was to go that way to the backyard, and also a tarp from the garage through the mud room to the basement stairs. When their work was completed, they removed all debris and made sure everything was working well. The lead person even checked to make sure I had programmed the thermostat the way I wanted it. These are the things you remember, because you can purchase your unit from any number of companies. It is the service you will remember down the road.They have given me good service in the past and continue to do so.

Had our furnace replaced it was bought up to code with chimney liner, extra cold air returns and all that entailed to complete professionally. Personal contact with all employee's was exemplary, all work areas were left clean also all Covic19 guidelines were adhered too in our presence.

I had a *** Evolution 80% efficiency 110,000 BTU furnace and an Evolution 5 stage 18 SEER air conditioner installed on March 18, 2020 by Superior Heating and Cooling (SH&C). Overall, it was a very good experience. I selected SH&C after obtaining bids from 5 different HVAC companies. I considered the comparable ***, ***, and *** systems as these systems were among the highest rated by Consumer Reports for reliability and owner satisfaction. SH&C submitted the lowest price bid and their scope of work exceeded that of all the other bidders. It was the best value for the price.
SH&C’s installers were very professional and courteous. On the day of installation, their installers sent a text message, with a photograph of the installer, notifying me that they were on their way. They arrived with a crew of 3 people and quickly set to work. The entire process of removing the existing furnace and air conditioner and installing the new one took about 6 hours including a lunch break. They placed drop cloths in their work path and cleaned up the work area when they were finished. After the installation crew left, SH&C sent another technician to my house to make sure I understood how to use the digital communicating thermostat. I appreciated this follow up and the professionalism exhibited by their staff. After a week I can feel the improved climate control provided by the *** Evolution series HVAC system. It will be interesting to see if this continues in the long term.
