I have been locked out of my account time after time especially when I try and redeem my points earned by taking their surveys. Each time they freeze my account, it takes weeks of sending them redundant information that they already have on file in order to get them to unlock it. Something is definitely wrong here because when I check the complaints that other members/individuals have, it's always about being able to redeem their points. Maybe it's time to start a class action suit against this company...

Review: As a consumer and the owner of an email address, I continue to receive unwanted emails re participating as Mystery Shopper who can earn up to $200 if I sign up. I have put this business on my spam list but it does no good. I called Opinion Outpost and was told that this is not their doing...that is is a scam that someone else is doing and adding their name to the email. The email is as follows:" Subject: Customer Evaluation - Participate & Get Paid From: Mystery Shopper ([email protected])To: my email address Date: Saturday, August 8, 2015 8:36 AM Message: "We currently have a customer evaluation assignment available in your area and we would like you to participate. Get Paid $200.00 for every Assignment Completed. Click here to read more and sign Up if interested. Thank you for participating."Opinion Outpost [redacted]. U.S.A. Attn: [redacted]Desired Settlement: I require that Mystery Shopper remove my email address from their mail directory immediately and send no more emails to me.

Response:

To whom this may concern:Thank you for bringing this to our attention!Opinion Outpost has recently been a victim of a phishing scam. If you have received an email to participate in a mystery shopping survey or a check with instructions to send money to another recipient via wire transfer and submit your information, we strongly urge you not to cash the check nor submit your information. To prevent falling for a scam, always be sure to verify who the e-mail or document is from. Is it from Opinion Outpost or some other company? We only send survey invitations and occasionally general information e-mails to panel members from [redacted]. We do not however, send out unsolicited e-mails. Another thing to check, is that you may be receiving e-mails from an opt-in list provider or a site where you expressed an interest in joining offers such as Opinion Outpost. In any case, you should be able to opt-out of these e-mails by finding the opt-out information at the bottom of the e-mail or by going to the site where the e-mails are coming from.Kind regards,[redacted]

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Sincerely,

Review: I take surveys from [redacted], operated by Survey Sampling International. This month when I attempted to cash out reward points from the site, I was told I would have to send in a W-9 form as I'd apparently reached the limit of what I could cash in a year without the site reporting it to the IRS as income. As of today, I have attempted to contact the site four times as to where to send the form (as the company seems to have several addresses / offices) and have yet to receive any sort of reply even though the site promises to do so in one business day.(Which in of itself is a constant thing regardless what I contact them about).Desired Settlement: [redacted] / Survey Sampling International contacts me with info on exactly where or to whom I should send the W-9, that the form is processed and I can continue receiving rewards for taking their surveys. The site should also answer all e-mails sent to them as any professionally run company would do.

Response:

To whom this may concern:This is to confirm that someone from the [redacted] Helpdesk Team has sent [redacted] an email with the details of how and where to submit his W-9 form. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

(Though still am rather annoyed I had to resort to contacting the Revdex.com to even get a reply from the site for a pretty simple question. Hopefullyin the future they will have the professionalism to answer replies sent by the users who take their surveys.)

Review: I have been taking surveys through [redacted], a company in which Survey Sampling International LLC ([redacted]) owns, and have requested several rewards to be awarded to me. These rewards are USD (monies) sent to my [redacted] account which [redacted] has on file with my [redacted] account. I have not received my payments for two out of the three rewards requests. The second reward (a $10 reward) I requested on 5/21/2015 and the third reward (a $50 reward) I requested on 6/11/2015. I know that [redacted] has a two business day wait time in order for rewards to be sent to the consumer's [redacted] account, but I feel like I have given them ample time, especially on the second reward, to get it into my [redacted] account. I am fed up with waiting. This happened with my first reward request for payment, but it got resolved by [redacted]. I would like help in talking with [redacted] about this issue and would like for my payments to be in my [redacted] account within the next two business days. I have contacted them via phone and e-mail several times and have not been able to get anyone to a[redacted]st me with my second payment with is overdue to me.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive my total payment of ($60) via my [redacted] account that Survey Sampling International LLC has on file within the next 2 business days.

Review: This company suddenly terminated my account with no notice. I have done many surveys for them so I was quite upset as their survey's take a lot of time and sometimes they send offers for surveys, with a promise of a reward, only to have you take them and after 30 minutes or more they say you don't qualify and hence wasted time with no reward.

I exchanged emails with them for 2 weeks and was told they are looking into it. Finally I emailed them one last time, a day or two ago, and finally they got back to me saying there was nothing they could do and that the account was closed permanently, stating that I somehow violated their terms of service but not giving any specifics how.

I wrote them back demanding to know exactly how I violated their terms of service and have not received any reply.Desired Settlement: To have my account reinstated.

Business

Response:

To whom this may concern:We understand [redacted]'s frustration, however, that check was not from our company. We do not ever send checks asking members to wire money. We are currently working with Attorney Generals in a few states to address all these complaints. We are a legitimate survey company who pays members in Opinion points for taking surveys online. Opinion points earned can be redeemed for rewards such as [redacted] gift codes or [redacted] cash on our Opinion Outpost sites. These types of scams do not just affect our company, but other legitimate companies as well. A scammer sends out a check and "survey" information using a legitimate company's name. Scammers use legitimate companies so that if you look up Opinion Outpost, you would see our site and assume the check and "survey" is legitimate. Looking at the email communication we have been forwarded by other victims, the email they tell you to send your survey results to is: [redacted] is not affiliated with us and is not a domain we use.If you signed up for an Opinion Outpost account, it was not on our actual site. We have looked in our database and have not found an account under [redacted] nor [redacted]. If you signed up for Opinion Outpost with a different email address, please let us know. However, the people who are getting these scam checks are not members of our community, so we are positive that the scammer did not get your information from our system. Scammers can buy lists of names and addresses, which is where they may have gotten your information. We apologize if you have lost money and we encourage you to report this. We have put up a banner on our site (see [redacted]), warning members to never wire money. If you search the internet, this type of scam is popular, which is very unfortunate. If you wish to report this, we will do our best to provide information to those agencies, so they can hopefully track down who scammed you.Sincerely,Susan E[redacted]Respondent Relations Specialist

Response:

To whom this may concern:This is to confirm that SSI is not hosting any mystery shopping program that requires its respondents or panelists to cash out a check and/or submit their information. If [redacted] received such a check and/or email with instructions to perform a wire transfer and submit his information, we strongly advise him not to. He may choose to report the fraudulent check and scam email to the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) or his State Attorney General's office so they can perform an investigation and make the public aware of such a scam.To prevent falling for a scam, always be sure to verify who the email or document is from. Do you recognize the sender email address/company? Another thing to check is that you may be receiving emails from an opt-in list provider or a site where you expressed an interest in joining offers. In any case, you should be able to opt out of these emails by finding the opt-out information at the bottom of the email or by going to the site where the emails are coming from.Kind regards,[redacted]Respondent Relations Specialist

Review: I was previously a member of [redacted]. I had an account balance with them, but one day I got a notification that my account had been frozen. I sent them an email asking why my account was frozen and was given this response:

Hello [redacted],

Thank you for your patience while we were addressing your account concern.

Our security system has flagged your account because you were caught giving bad and/or irrelevant responses in surveys you participated in. This is one of the items we monitor, to help us determine the quality of data returned on each survey. Our Fraud Team considered this offense severe enough that we can no longer reactivate your account. Please review our Terms and Conditions.

I responded on 7/13/15 with:

Where was I giving or irrelevant answers? I need specific examples as

this is the second time you guys have tried to do this to me and you

were unable to provide me with any answers, just a vague response like

this.

I need exact examples and also need to know when I can expect my

remaining $3 (30 points) via [redacted] if you all refuse to reinstate my

account/give me exact examples of providing bad/irrelevant answers.

Should these fail to be addressed I will go to the Revdex.com again, and will

also get into contact with the department of consumer affairs for your

parent company Survey Sampling as your company seems to be constantly

misleading survey takers with incorrect survey times in order to lure

them into long surveys for your benefit only. In addition several

surveys list the actual total one should be receiving for surveys and

these totals are much higher than what Opinion Outpost actually pays

([redacted] Research surveys come to mind immediately).

I got back a response:

Hello [redacted],

Based off our Account Team's assessment, you were providing irrelevant/bad responses to multiple surveys especially on the open ends. This happened on multiple surveys. Our Accounts Team can no longer reactivate your account in this case.

Thank you!

To which I replied:

This is still not an answer to my question in terms of exactly what

specific examples you saw. Instead you are giving me vague and

generalized answers as a way to dodge the situation. Define "Open

ends" as it pertains to surveys on you all's end.

Conveniently you seem to not address the fact that I still had an

account balance and I expect to be paid out for those surveys which i

completed via [redacted].

I have stated before that this is all very convenient timing given the

fact that I complained once to the Revdex.com not long ago

and never seemed to have trouble in the 2 years with you before

complaining. For this I feel is grounds for discrimination.

Please advise

I still have not gotten a response back from them regarding why my account was deactivated not have I gotten anywhere regarding how to get my remaining points balance cashed out. This company only seemed to give me problems when I complained to the Revdex.com initially and I feel I am being wrongly discriminated against because I took action via the Revdex.com.

It should also be noted this company engages in shady business practices as of late. They now mislead survey takers with promises of how long a survey will take, when in reality the survey can take nearly double that long. I feel this is wrong and is also illegal as it takes advantage of people by lying to them.Desired Settlement: I would like the following:

1. my remaining point total cashed out via [redacted]

2. an exact list of what surveys I was giving bad answers to, and examples of these bad answers

3. The most important thing I want is opinion outpost to start listing correct times for their surveys as opposed to lying to people. My survey, Swag bucks, quest mindshare all list correct times for their surveys and I feel it is only fair that Opinion Outpost be held to the same standards so that they do not have an unfair advantage.

I am rejecting this response because:

Review: I was part of this survey pannel and I had 4800 points this is equal to over $40 dollars they deleted my account for no reason and are stealing this money that I had earned. Review: [redacted] is at least sloppy about the surveys it offers, and perhaps even an intentional scam. The idea is that a user can complete surveys to get flier-miles, with 300 miles for signing up and completing the first survey.I created my profile with them, answered every question they asked, and proceeded to try FOUR of their surveys, giving them over half an hour of my time. Each survey began with "qualification questions," gathering free information for them while presumably deciding whether I was eligible for the survey in question. Each time, I got to the main portion of the survey, and at least once I got to a screen thanking me for my participation...click anywhere for my rewards. And yet, each time, I was "rewarded" with a screen saying that, sorry, I didn't qualify, so I get nothing. When I contacted Opinion Miles, their response was something like "Sorry you are finding it difficult to complete surveys," rather than acknowledging that they got plenty of useful information from me. They also claim that they don't keep or use any information they receive for nonqualifying surveys...which is about the most blatant lie of the whole thing, since they're not about to let users into their computers to go looking.Really...a customer goes out of their way to give you over half an hour of their time and effort. Isn't it basic decent behavior to make sure they have something to show for it other than aggravation?Desired Settlement: I want the 300 flier miles originally promised.

Business

Response:

To whom this may concern:This is to confirm [redacted] account has already been credited with the 300 sign-up miles. It was released to his [redacted] Club on 5/14/2015 after he completed [redacted] on the same date. The bonus sign-up miles should reflect on his [redacted] account. We want to further state that one cannot participate in a survey without first qualifying for it. In order to qualify for a survey, the respondent is required to answer a set of pre-qualifying questions. Please note that even if it is determined the respondent is qualified to participate in the survey, it does not necessarily follow that they are 100% likely to complete it. The clients we run the surveys for have their own set of qualifying AND quality questions in their surveys, to ensure they receive responses from the right group of respondents and are provided with accurate (truthful) and logical responses (quality data). As these online surveys collect responses real-time from hundreds of thousands of respondents every day, there is bound to be a number of respondents who will not qualify to take the survey, and a number of which will be kicked out of the survey questionnaire once the client obtains all the completes they need for their study. To help our members receive survey opportunities that we think they can qualify for, we put in place different profile questionnaires in their accounts. Profile data helps our project managers target the right people from our survey panels for their client's surveys. Of course, these profile questionnaires need to be reviewed and updated by our panel members every 3 months at least, to ensure they are profiled correctly in our system and won't hurt their chances of getting surveys to participate in.Kind regards,[redacted]Respondent Relations Specialist

Response:

Review: [redacted]

I consider this response unsatisfying because:It is true that, on the recent date mentioned by the company, I received an invitation for an "everyone will qualify" survey, and, having the idle time, decided to see if it worked. Was pleasantly surprised that it did...although I wondered whether it not entirely be a coincidence that this "sure thing" happened to show up right after the company learned of my complaint to the Revdex.com.This does not change the time-and-effort wasting process I had previously endured at the hands of the company, during which I "qualified" for and took surveys with over half an hour of my time, at least one of which awarded me with a "congratulations! click anywhere to receive your award," at which point my "award" was a screen telling me that, sorry, I had not qualified. As much as the survey company may try to hide behind verbiage that this is a legitimate business practice of theirs and then blame things on some of their survey-offering clients, the fact remains: Repeatedly encouraging members to spend their time and offer up personal information, yet routinely giving nothing to them and using technicalities as an excuse for same, is at the very least a sloppy business practice and raises suspicion of an intentional process of mining the members for free information rather than giving them even a pittance of flier-miles.Since I finally have my 300 miles, I do not need anything further from them...but I do think that other would-be members are well served by having complaints such as mine available for them to view online, so they can avoid the unpleasant experience I had with this company.

You’ll find the goodwill credit listed on your Survey History under code “[redacted]”. Thank you for your patience!

Review: Hello,

I have been doing surveys with this particular company for years and often run into problems collecting my rewards from them. After attempting to redeem 140 points, worth $14, from my account I did not receive a payment to my [redacted] account as usual. In the rewards history tab it says pending for the payment. This is the second time in a row this has happened and it has never happened in any previous years, yet I can get no response or real explanation as to why.Desired Settlement: I want to receive my reward I recently attempted to redeem and never have it happen again without notification. I want to know why the payment is pending for this amount of time and would like a definitive explanation. I would appreciate a resolution to this issue as soon as possible. Thanks!

Their number comes up on caller ID but when I answer no one is there! Stop Calling if you aren't going to say anything. When I call back you can't talk to a person or leave a message. They just keep calling and hanging up.
