Review: This complaint involves many calls from a company that has lines in [redacted]. I called the number back and it stated they were Survey Sampling International. I have asked them twice to take me off their list and they keep calling. They call at all hours of the day and night. They called last night at 8:01PM.Desired Settlement: Delete my phone number from their database. Do not call me.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

SSI (Survey Sampling International) called me on 07/07/14 at 6:11PM EST. I stated AGAIN to take me off the list and I was now taking the issue to the WV Attorney General; since they will not stop calling my cell phone after this was filed and asking these people to take me off their list multiple times. It is interesting to note that the phone number now shows up as UNKNOWN vs. [redacted], WV; but the person (Male) that called today stated that he was from the same Survey Sampling International.

Review: Company cancels account, invalidating effort, refuses to reinstate account without considerable effort, holds promised payment hostage. This company is an online survey company that pays participants in redeemable "points". These points are awarded upon conclusion of various surveys, and can be redeemed for cash or gift card credit once certain thresholds are reached. The company has, on multiple occasions, frozen, locked, or otherwise denied me access to my account. In so doing they likewise refuse access to, and prevent redemption of, accumulated points on the account. Payment is not immediate upon completion of offered surveys, but accumulate until a certain limit is reached, and can then be redeemed once that minimum threshold is reached. Because points must be redeemed for value, and because points are only gained after successful completion of surveys, freezing the account, and denying access to, and redemption of, already accumulated point functions, in effect, a refusal to compensate participants for work already performed. The company has, so far, engaged in a pattern of this behavior, allowing points to be accumulated (which is done through successful completion of surveys, from which the business itself derives profit) and then preventing redemption by the panel member. On 4 separate occasions my account has been mysteriously, and without warning, "frozen". Only after lengthy and protracted discussion with their customer service team (consisting, it seems, of one individual), is the account restored. Then locked again for equally mysterious reasons some days later. While the company does of course reserve the right to ban fraudulent or inadequate accounts, each time the ban has been protested it results, eventually, and with seeming great reluctance, in reactivation. I've committed no violation, broken no rule, and have had my account restored each and every time. I believe this to be an intentional and malicious pattern of behavior on behalf of this company, in which they deliberateDesired Settlement: I wish my account reinstated, to be allowed to redeem accumulated points, and to continue as a panelist without undue manipulation or cancellation of my account without cause.

Review: I recently took a survey either very late night 4/18/13 or just after midnight 4/19/13. This normal survey about tobacco then had a prompt that said if I complete this additional short survey, I would receive 100 points. I completed the survey, yet was not credited. I then filed a report with customer service, but John refused to issue my points, stating I need a screenshot. I have never needed a screenshot before, and my points were credited during past occurrences of their errors. I provided all of the info I could, but he still would credit my account 100 points. I then asked to speak to management, he refused.

Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation)

100 points credited to my account for the survey, plus additional points compensation for the hassle and my time, plus an apology from both John and management.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT ACCEPT the response from the business.)

All of my codes are in their system. The coordinator does not feel like researching them, which in my mind is poor customer service. They have made many mistakes before, yet always corrected them because of my honesty. This is the first time they believe I am lying.

Review: I am a member of this company (Survey Spot) who is a third party for survey companies. You take surveys through this companies website and they provide compensation. This company has various ways to receive the compensation earned including [redacted] gift cards, restaurant gift cards, [redacted]. Before making a redemption through [redacted] on SurveySpot I made sure all of my information in my profile with this company was accurate. My information was up to date. I attempted to therefore redeem through [redacted] and SurveySpot locked my account. This company has a support phone line but you can never get through to anyone, instead you are advised to leave a message. I have done this before several times and have not once received a call back. This company also has an active profile on [redacted] where you can leave messages for them this way but again you are lucky if you can get a response, same goes for the support email they have. If in fact you do get a response in any fashion they will continuously give you the run a round. There have been numerous complaints in this regard on the Revdex.com website. This company does not act in an ethical manner.Desired Settlement: I want my account with them unlocked so I can redeem my earnings. This company really needs to get it together.

Review: Late Night Calling

My household received two unsolicited calls from this company. One at 9:15PM EST, my Husband asked that the company NOT call our residence again. At 9:26PM EST the same company called again. I ask for the Rep (who did not give me his name) what the company name was, and who his manager was, Lea Lopez, the name I was given. I inquired if he knew the FCC laws. He ignored my questions and again attempted to start his script. Since he had been ruse to me I interrupted him and I asked what the address was for the company. He said they had offices all over Utah. I specified that I wanted the corporate headquarters address and the Rep hung up on me. We are registered on the FCCs do not call list and will also be making a complaint with them.Desired Settlement: Simply never to be contacted my this company again.

Review: yes,

I have emailed the said complaint which is a sister company of [redacted] which I do surveys online for. I have been with them since 1/2008

Since November of 2014 I have been having issues with[redacted] not paying what is owed to me. At first they were communicating with me thru emails. Which I have all of them if they are needed for proof.

My first compliant is a in home study I did with an electrical razor that I used for 8 weeks. I returned it and filled out all paperwork. I was to receive 15.00 for it. NEVER RECEIVED A DIME OF IT. ( did study throughout sept and November of 2014)

Second is an app I put on my cell phone and did a survey study for 3 weeks in regards to how I watch and stream videos and or tv shows. Was suppose to receive 10.00 for that. Have not received

one dime towards it. ( did study in beginning of December 2014)

third I have 8 surveys I have not been paid for and those are from November 2014 thru Janurary 5th or so.... that I have not been paid for. A total of 11.50. On this they always tell me a third party is in review with them and I will be paid within 2 to 4 weeks and they assure me my account will be credited....which is BS because its not. I have been thru this several times with them and I know how they work, they think im going to just forget about the survey.....

I just would like for them to be honest to me... I have been doing surveys since 2008 and it just isnt coolDesired Settlement: I would like what monies that are owed to me and quit making excuses why I am not getting paid.

they seem to copy and paste the same emails to me constantly, with no results or actions taken in a positive way.

Sincerely,

[redacted]I also need to be honest I cant accept the 15.00 for shaver study. The company that provided the product to me sent me 15.00 today. I appreciate what has been given to me. And I apologize to take such actions, but lets say: you work for Survey Sampling correct? well if your paycheck was short every week for 2 months would you be upset or fight what is rightfully your?I really didnt like contacting Revdex.com. I have been with [redacted] for over 7 years and I just seeing things on [redacted] end going down hill mistake wise.Again Thank you Im greatful

They called, the caller ID was SSI, tel no. ###-###-####. To me, SSI is Medicaid trademark name. Why would they use this name? I got the negative feeling by the company ID name. Just like nobody should use the name as [redacted] except our government tax service. Correct?

Review: As I cannot edit my original complaint to include additional details, grievances, and responses, I am writing a new complaint in reference to current file [redacted]Follow Up Details:On Monday, January 13, 2014, my account was reinstated and all previously earned points were there. I was sent a generic email stating to ensure in the future that I only have one survey window open at a time, not to speed through surveys, etc. On Wednesday, January 16, 2014, I received a more detailed response via the Revdex.com detailing that my account had been deactivated both times due to taking multiple surveys at once, that this was indeed against the T&C of Usage for Opinion Outpost, and that if my account was suspended anytime in the future for the same reason, it would not be reactivated. On Thursday, January 17, 2014, my account was AGAIN deactivated for "Data Concerns". This time, it was most certainly not due to having multiple survey windows open at once, but I believe once again was an effect of the overly conservative formulas and heuristics they use in their anti-fraud and early detection software. I was presented with around 30 surveys on Thursday. Of those, 17 of them were either "full" or "I did not qualify", seven of them lead to broken/non-functional links, and the rest were working surveys that I was able to complete. Due to the high number of broken links, I rechecked them multiple times from multiple devices and received the same error messages on all of them. I believe that this rapid check, which was done several times over a period of six hours, may have triggered my account to be deactivated.I am not trying to be a difficult member, and the majority of my contact with Opinion Outpost, and by default, Survey Sampling International, LLC, has been positive, with friendly agents either correcting technical errors, or explaining why they could not, however, I believe their anti-fraud and early detection software is a major downfall of this company.Desired Settlement: I also ask that they have their Programming and IT teams reconsider the source and programming code for their software so that their systems are not as quick to flag minor offenses, or may at least first offer a warning alerting users to what it considers "suspicious activity".I am also requesting that their Terms and Conditions of Usage be properly updated to reflect actions which may cause an account to be flagged and frozen, or at least a list of the most common offenses.

To whom this may concern:

Please consider this as a response to Revdex.com Complaint Case ID [redacted] as well.

Our system actually had to temporarily deactivate Mr. Frye's survey accounts, due to an alert our system received on potential hacking. To prevent his accounts, as well as other members' from actually getting compromised by the hacker and risk losing all their earned points, we had to act and put the accounts on hold until he was able to successfully update his email account's password--to strengthen it and make it harder for any hacker from getting access into his email account and compromising all other personal accounts linked to his email. We simply acted on protecting Mr. Frye's survey account and his point balance. Had we not placed his account on temporary hold, he would have lost all his points.

Regarding his feedback and suggestions on our fraud-prevention tactics and updating our User Agreements, I will very willingly pass them onto the appropriate people so they can work on a better way to improve our members' experience on our survey sites.

Thank you very much for bringing this to our attention!

Review: I am writing a complaint about Opinion Outpost survey site because I have not violated any of the "terms and conditions" of their membership eligibility rules. On June 18th, 2013, I tried to sign into my Opinion Outpost survey panel to try and complete a survey. I received a pop-up window stating my account "was frozen due to data concerns". I wrote an e-mail to customer service about the problem. The next day, I received a response that wrote:We have verified that your account has been deactivated. This could have occurred for any of the following possible reasons, but not limited to:Having more than 1 account per person and/or 2 accounts per householdSpeeding through surveys (rushing through surveys)Supplying data not consistent with your profile dataEmail address is not valid or is unable to receive survey invitationsOur fraud team is currently investigating the reason and we will get back to you as soon as we have more information. This may take a few days, but we will keep you posted as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience."I have been a member of the Opinion Outpost survey site for almost two years, and during this time I have invested a lot of time into completing surveys (whether I received an incentive for them or not). What really worries me is the statement in the "terms and conditions" that they can deny paying out incentives for any or no reason at all. "In the event SSI terminates a Panel members account(s), SSI reserves the right to: (i) delete all Incentives;" and "SSI may terminate your Panel membership at any time, with or without cause, for any reason or no reason, without notice. In the event of termination as set forth in this paragraph, your Panel membership will immediately terminate; and all Incentives will immediately be deleted and forfeited."I have over $400 dollars in incentive/rewards in my membership account. I have been waiting 6 days for an answer. My family is depending on the rewards I have earned. I am saddened by this treatment.

Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation)

I would like to have my membership and rewards re-established. If SSI is unwilling to do so, then I want my total rewards earned by me to be sent to the verified PayPal account established through Opinion Outpost's website. My rewards are a substantial amount, and I cannot afford to lose it. I have not violated any of their rules, and I feel I am being unfairly targeted and mistreated.

Respectfully yours,

Review: Have had an extremely difficult time with this company in recent months taking surveys. I have worked with them for the past five years but over time have become more and more intent on "getting over" on the survey taker. They are becoming incredibly predatory in nature, spending large amounts of time taking surveys, getting 100% of the survey done then "mysteriously" being disqualified AFTER the whole survey has been taken. I kindly ask them to explain the nature of my disqualification, yet they refuse. I know what is going on, my data is being stolen, sold to their client and I am being stiffed for my time!I just completed a 30 minute survey and successfully completed the whole thing, the survey THANKED ME FOR FINISHING AND TOLD I WAS BEING REDIRECTED FOR CREDIT, then I was told "sorry, you don't qualify". This was after A HALF HOUR OF MY TIME! RIDICULOUS. You don't take a half hour to screen someone, no way no how. Oh, and I don't speed or incorrectly answer challenge questions either, so that's not possible. The survey in question is [redacted], but this has happened numerous times as well in other surveys. They really should be investigated at a deeper level.Desired Settlement: Payment of 100 Opinion Outpost points ($10) for stolen surveys and wasted time spent resolving this issue which shouldn't require this level of back and forth to fix.

Business

Response:

To whom this may concern:We have reviewed [redacted]'s Opinion Outpost account and see he has been able to participate in surveys and receive points for ones he completed. We are aware of the long screen out or long terminate issue that has been affecting our members and are working to reach a solution. A solution may not be in place very soon, as we will need to reach the best business decision that will make both our members and clients pleased with their experience with SSI. In the meantime, we can only recommend that our members take some time to review their profile information at least once every 3 months, to help us send them survey opportunities we think they can qualify for.As we reviewed [redacted]'s Opinion Outpost survey history, we went ahead and credited his Opinion Outpost account with points for the following survey codes since he spent a significant amount of time in them, which he can verify by checking his 'Survey History' section.[redacted]Thank you.Kind regards,[redacted]Respondent Relations Specialist

Review: My account on Opinion Outpost was frozen but I earned 145 points on there. I demand that Opinion Outpost pay my balance.

My name is [redacted] and the email I have registered with Opinion Outpost is [redacted]@gmail.com. Opinion Outpost is a part of Survey Sampling International and I demand that I get paid for surveys that I took. I was not even aware that my account was being flagged for data concerns; there was no warning.I took surveys on 3/26/13 amounting to $13 and if you add that to the $1.5 I already had in my account before then I earned a total of $14.50. My account was only frozen when I tried to redeem with Paypal. I think that is a very odd coincidence that my account would be frozen when I am trying to redeem points that I worked for. If this is the company's way of trying to avoid payments, then I will not stand for it.Desired Settlement: I am requesting that I get $14.50 transferred to my Paypal account.

Review: We have asked this company several time not to contact us anymore. We are on the list for the do not call registry, and because they are not selling anything, the representative told me he can call me as many times as he likes. This is harassment, I have opted out on their website, I'm filing this complaint, and if need be I will get police involved for harassment, as well as lawyers. This malarkey that, because they are not selling anything, gives them the right to call me how ever many time they like is unacceptable. I shouldn't have to change my phone # because of harassment, this needs to stop.Desired Settlement: STOP CALLING ME

Review: I signed up with company and did 15 dollars worth of surveys. When I went to redeem I got an error that wouldn't let me sing into my account. It stated error due to data concerns. When I contacted customer support they stated that I violated they're policy and that my account was deactivated along with the funds I accrued. When in all actuality those surveys were already completed and they are going to pocket my earned funds. I would like my redemption and my account reinstated. I did not violate they're terms and they did not want to listen to my reasoning and facts. They made a judgement call and they were wrong.Desired Settlement: I would like my account reinstated and back to normal along with the funds that were fairly earned.

Review: I have been doing surveys for opinion outpost for some months now. I am not alone in these simular complaints. Not once but several times I also have completed surveys for opinion outpost only to be told that my participation could not be recorded or I have completed surveys to be told I did not qualify for this certain survey. Each time I tried to respond to the site that was given to complain if I didn't agree and each time I was told that my email could not be sent for different reasons each time. well like other complaints I have read I too work very hard at giving my most honest replies to each survey i'm given and I too expect to be paid for this effort. I am very upset that after completing sometimes extremely long and time consuming surveys to be denied my reward points that I have earned.Desired Settlement: I believe that I am owed over 100 points and I would like for them to award me with those points that I have earned. I have not kept up with these stolen points but rest assured I am not just making this up. these are true complaints.

To whom this may concern;

Our helpdesk team has informed me that Cora Faye's been screening out more than actually completing surveys. We believe it is because her profiles haven't been updated recently. We recommend our members to complete their profiles and keep them up-to-date every 3 months at least. Getting profiled helps them qualify for surveys they are offered. For the inconvenience brought about this, our helpdesk team has credited her Opinion Outpost account with 27 Opinion points as goodwill. The incentive should be listed on her Survey History section under project code "111111". We hope she will make time to go over her profiles and update them soon, so she can improve her chances of qualifying for surveys.

Best regards,

Susan Evans

Review: My complaint is with Opinion Outpost, whose parent company is Survey Sampling International.

On 4/30/15 I began a survey with Opinion Outpost at approximately 11:13AM. The survey was to be a 45 minute survey with a reward of 40 points (Equivalent of $4) upon completion of the survey. I completed the Survey at approximately 12PM that same day. The survey number was [redacted]

When I was sent to the final page of the survey in which I was asked to rate the experience with this survey and then told to click on the submit button to receive my incentive. Once I clicked said button I was immediately taken to an error message from [redacted].com (the company which created the survey and then I assume contracted it out to Opinion Outpost). The error message said "unfortunately an error has occurred, please contact administrator" and would not redirect me back to Opinion Outpost to receive my incentive. Instead I had to close out the screen and log back in to Opinion Outpost's website and go to my survey history to click back on the survey link to get back to where I was at. When I clicked this link it immediately took me back to Opinion Outposts screen out notification in which they give me a message "unfortunately you do not qualify for this survey" and thus awarded me none of the points that I should have received.

I have contacted them numerous times from 4/30/15 to today trying to get resolution to this, but instead they claim I was screened out despite the survey itself saying I had earned the rewards. The Last email I receieved from them read as follows:

Hello [redacted],

Based on our records, the time you spent with the survey is only (0 min 10 secs).

We apologize for any trouble we may have caused you.

Of course, there will be cases when your participation will be cut-off or ended before actually submitting your responses. This mostly happens when the client has already obtained the total number of completes they needed for their study. Some cases, the client's survey has its own set of qualifying/quality check questions, which do not refer to your profiled data in our system. So you will indeed encounter cases where you will be disqualified at the beginning or somewhere in the middle or at the end of a survey. We may not have complete control over such cases at the moment, but we can assure you that we are continually working on improving the survey experience so that surveys run smoothly for all our members.

They keep giving me a generic response and will not even acknowledge the fact that there was a technical error. The 10 seconds he refers to likely refers to when I had to log back into their website to click on the survey link again only to be taken back to the "unfortunately you do not qualify for this survey."

In addition this logic is flawed because when survey companies do put in screen out questions, the survey will immediately kick you out if those questions are answered incorrectly. They will not let you go through the entire survey before screening you out.

Finally it should be noted that this company is now constantly falsely providing proper times for their surveys now. Many times they will claim a survey will give a reward of 5 points in just 5 minutes, but the survey instead gives hundreds of questions and will take closer to 20 minutes. This has happened with incredible frequency over the past year and appears to be getting worse. Doing this is not only false advertising, but also exemplifies shady business practices which take advantage of people by lying to them regarding their actual times.Desired Settlement: I would like 40 points ($4) credited to my account for survey [redacted].

Furthermore I would like to see action taken by Opinion Outpost in which they list the actual times that the surveys will take as opposed to lying and taking advantage of people by making false promises

Response:

To whom this may concern:We have gone ahead and credited the 40 Opinion points to [redacted]'s Opinion Outpost account for [redacted] out of goodwill. He should be able to find the reward listed on his Survey History section. One of the few things our panel members should know when they encounter a survey issue like the one reported in this case, is not to attempt to re-access the survey (unless advised to) as they will risk setting their participation time back to 0 and make it look like they have just accessed it. It would have been best had [redacted] left the survey as it is and contacted helpdesk right away, to have his participation status verified on the client's end. Here are a some very useful notes/tips our panel members should keep in mind when taking surveys online: a) take surveys on their home computer unless advised to access a survey on a mobile device (we do not encourage our members to access their account and take surveys using a public computer or device shared by multiple users); b) clear their internet browser’s cache and browsing history before starting rounds of surveys (especially if they keep getting the message telling them somebody else in their household has already taken the survey, etc.); c) ensure they have strong internet connection (heavy-coded or programmed surveys can take longer to load, depending on internet connection speed); d) have an updated version of Flash and JavaScript enabled on their browser (majority of our clients’ surveys need these); e) have a recent version of the internet browser; f) have a back-up or alternate internet browser in case their default browser isn’t compatible with the survey; g) try to access the survey again at a later time if they get a blank page when they first access it (this normally happens when the end-client’s server is overloaded with respondents trying to access the survey in a certain period of time); and h) close off previously opened survey pages before attempting to access another survey opportunity. Also, it is important to note that they must at all times be in the country/location they signed up in, as they risk compromising their membership by attempting to access their account and surveys outside the designated country/location.Kind regards,[redacted]

Review: Day after day, call my home several times a day and hang up. Now they are calling after 9 or 10 PM in spite of the law and common courtesy. I'm on the "No Call" list for a reason, regardless of what loopholes they unethically manipulate.Desired Settlement: Cease and desist forever from all their various phone numbers.
