I fell for advertisements saying Topresume was THE place to go to for a great resume. I could NOT have been more wrong. All they did was repurpose my existing resume - not well - then send it back to me in an older version of word and the file was corrupted so I couldn't even provide comments if I wanted to. I intend to provide additional comments on LinkedIn about their poor service and horrible guarantee. I cannot even use the resume provided. It has poor grammar, repeated sentences, inaccurate information due to a misinterpretation of my current resume. I am so angry - total waste of money folks!

I have to say I have mixed reviews regarding this service. I utilized TR for an updated CL, CV, and Linkedin profile. They also asked if I would like to pay an additional $60 for their resume posting service. Completely disappointed with this! The instructions was not clear about how to use it in my opinion and when I reached out to them for a resolution they immediately told me I should contact the resume service. My problem is I paid TR the $60 and not the resume posting service. Now my email regarding this issue is being completely ignored. Very frustrating!

This business gave me a free critque of my resume and emailed me non stop about how they can better write my resume and cover letter. I paid 99$ for the package and never heard back from them for more than a week. Then they assigned a writer who contacted me and said my first draft will be ready, and she sent the first draft. They advertise as a professional resume writing company and the first draft she sent back was a pathetically written, poorly worded, full of spelling and grammatical errors, incorrectly formatted resume rewrite of my really good resume. It did not make any sense. A ten year old can write better. I ended up editing it and put comments and sent it back. I was disappointed and told them that I would not like to continue working with their company. Their facebook page is full of comments from people who have been ripped off by this company. They emailed me saying they would assign someone else to restart the whole process. I am not interested in wasting my time dealing with such unprofessional people and I can barely afford that sum. I said I do not wish to further do business with them and would like a refund. No one has bothered to contact me since 4 days.

TopResume failed to deliver a complete product and service as agreed upon at the time of purchase. I contacted the company multiple times concerning this dispute. To date, they have still failed to deliver any semblance of the agreed upon product. I contacted my financial institution which advised me they were not able to refund my account due to evidence they received from TopResume. The end result; I do not have a completed product, services have not been full-filled, and I am out the total amount of funds with no delivery.

I hired Top Resume to rewrite my personal resume for my job search. They claimed to understand my needs to find positions within my industry. After paying Top Resume, I started my job search. The feedback I was receiving from industry peers and recruiters was that it was a poorly written and positioned resume.

From the time I started using the new resume, I did NOT receive one interview. The only interviews I was getting was from industry referrals. Once I received the interview, the main topic of discussion was the poorly executed resume.

I went back to Top Resume and they assigned another writer. He was worse than the last writer. I asked for my money back and they said no. Matter of fact, they told me that for me to get a job, 90% comes from a friend or former colleague, not a resume.

To ensure I wasn't making a larger deal out of this than it was, I shared my resume with some of the top technology executives and recruiters in my industry for honest feedback. The response was so negative, I cannot use this resume to apply for jobs right now. I have to hire another resume company now, so I can find a job.

Please help. I spent $400 on Top Resume and they won't do anything other than provide me with another unqualified writer that will only make my situation worse.

I have provided Top Resume with all the issues with the resume yesterday and the inability of two writers to accomplish the goal of dynamic resume that will help me find a job. Since April, I have not received one interview based on my resume. The only interviews I have received have been from referrals. The feedback from the recruiters and top executives in my field in regards to my resume have been very negative. I've had friends rewrite my resume to help, but it's still not enough.
I have o confidence in this company and I've had to pay a new company to create a dynamic resume that gets me interviews outside of my network.
I simply want my money refunded and I will not use ANY of the wording that they have provided. This is VERY disappointing and is holding up me finding a new job. I can't apply for jobs right now as the resume I currently have isn't appropriate to share with potential employers.

On 8/*/18, I paid for the resume writing service, 48-hour rush service (order confirmation at 12:05 pm CDT), and a phone call, a total of $319. I sent in the resume I wrote, job posting examples, and filled in their questionnaire. On Wednesday, I compiled and sent a career synopsis with history and background, to help the writer. The writer, Jane H., told me via e-mail she would have a draft to me on Thursday morning. It was not received. I sent an e-mail to the support contact, order contact, and generic contact, asking for a refund since I didn't receive it. The writer then said she'd have it that evening, which was already well past the 48-hours. I finally got a "draft", which was actually a fill-in-the-blank document, on 8//18 at 12:59 am CDT (past due). Friday morning, I put together a document listing my accomplishments, to help expedite the resume. Jane called me on Friday, 8//18 and we discussed the e-mail I sent with the accomplishment list and the needs, then stated she'd try to get me the resume on Saturday morning, but would definitely have it to me by Monday morning. Monday morning passes with nothing. I called the support line to ask for status but no one answered so I left a message that was not returned. I got a message Monday afternoon that said she'd have it done on Monday evening. Still nothing. Then I called the support line Tuesday and Rena said she'd follow the order to find out what was going on. Jane then said she'd have it Tuesday. Nothing Tuesday morning. Then Tuesday Jane claims she was ill. If that was the case, she should have advised her management team she could not fulfill the delivery requirements she herself kept promising. Nothing received on Tuesday at all. Tuesday evening, I called the support line, and spoke to Brianna, asking if the resume could be reassigned if Jane wasn't going to finish it as requested. She said they could do that. I asked if that meant I'd lose out on the time already wasted waiting for the resume. She said the time clock starts all over again, and she stated the new writer would need time to write it. I asked Brianna if she could ask for status from Jane - had she done anything? How much? ETA on completion, because if she was almost done, I'd stick with Jane in an effort to not lose even more time than what I'd already lost. Brianna said it wouldn't hurt to ask Jane for this information. Wednesday morning, I receive an e-mail that my resume has been reassigned. I called back and spoke to Brianna again, asking for my money back (again) on the 48-hour rush service, which she said she submitted to management while we were on the phone, and asked what ramifications Jane would experience for promising completion of the resume without intent to fulfill the obligation. Jane then claimed she had a death in the family. Again, she had a responsibility to make her management aware she could not fulfill her duties as I purchased a resume from TopResume, not her personally. Brianna said I'd have the completed resume by Friday. I asked if I would get the phone call with the new writer since I felt I wasted the phone call with Jane. Brianna said I would. I received an e-mail from the new writer, Lin. I asked Lin if Jane gave her all of the documentation I sent her and she said she had it. On Thursday, I received almost the same thing I got from Jane - a fill-in-the-blank document that was being called a draft. Given that Lin said she had all of the documentation I sent to Jane, my expectation was that this draft would not have blanks. I asked Lin when we could schedule the phone call and she said she wasn't able to do a call due to her phone service being erratic and if I still wanted it, my resume would need to be reassigned to another writer. Since I had lost so much time, I said I'd forgo the call and ask for a refund. I received an e-mail from Lisa stating I'd get a refund for the call. I replied to Lisa asking about the status of the refund for the 48-hour service, but no one responded. I then sent a document to Lin via e-mail outlining was I needed on the resume. On Friday, 8//18, I asked Lin for status. She replied she hoped to have a new version to me by Friday afternoon. She later said she was having trouble due to the detail. I replied back with the top 3 job duties for the 3 major titles to be focused on. I also called the support line again on Friday, asking for status of both refunds, but no one picked up so I left a voicemail. Saturday Lin said "Yes; thanks!" This morning, 8//18, I had no additional communication. I called the support line to ask about the refunds again and Rena picked up. She said the one for the call was processed but may take up to *** days to receive, but she didn't see anything for the 48-hour rush service. I told her Brianna said she submitted it to management, and asked why management hadn't acted. She said she need to talk to Brianna, so I waited on hold. Rena came back on and said Brianna told her I said that wasn't necessary, which is a lie (why would I continue to follow up if I said I didn't want the money back??). Fed up, I asked for a supervisor over everyone on this, since I was sick of being lied to. She said she'd get someone. Brianna called me back and I said I did not want to talk to her, I wanted to talk to her manager since I'd already spoken to her and she lied about the refund submission. I told Brianna I was tired of the lies, tired of them not producing the professionally written resume they advertised, and that I wanted my money back since it's clear I've been scammed. At this point, Brianna says a manager will call me by end of day, but given the track record of empty promises, I fail to believe that's coming. Additionally, I've heard nothing from Lin today.

This resume writing service is a disgrace and a joke. The writer assigned to me wrote a much worst version of my initial resume, which is evident by her lack of knowledge of the industry I am working in.
I purchased the "Executive Priority" package, which was supposed to offer me the so-called "Executive writer - Top 10% of their network". Basically, the writer just wrote a shorter version of my initial resume which is less comprehensible, less appealing and where significant and relevant experience has been removed.
As for the "keyword optimized" feature praised on their website, my writer simply REMOVED all the important keywords, another clue about her lack of knowledge about the industry.
Moreover, the revision process is a joke. My understanding was that the writer would interact with me before submitting a new revision since I am limited to 3. The writer did not interact with me, took only a few of my comments into consideration for the second draft which ended up with 36 words removed compared to the first draft (which was already poorly done).
As far as the cover letter, it is a poor template that one can get for FREE by searching the web. Same applies to the *** review - it is not up to industry standard and poorly done.
When you try to contact them through their “support” channel (***) you wont even get an answer.
Avoid them at all cost!

On 8/6/2018 I was charged $219 for TopResume service. In a email I was told that a writer well be in touch within a day and I would have my first draft by 8/9. On 8/9 I was sent a email saying sorry we haven't forgotten you and gave me some bologna excuses and tell me how special I am too them. I called TopResume { 8/13 } to cancel my service because while I'm waiting for them I'm loosing job opportunitys. When I spoke to the lady and told her my issue and told her my plans to cancel the resume she put me on hold for 17 minutes because I was special. When they answered the phone I said again I want my service cancelled. The lady on the phone said that there will be a $75 cancellation fee. So once you give them money they got you and your at there mercy and it will cost you some money know matter what happens. When I think of it Katie from TopResume came to me about my resume. She must have issues with getting business.

I ordered a resume/cover letter/linkedin update documents from TopResume. It took the company a very long time to perform a sub-standard work. I was not given an opportunity, for example, to review/comment/ask for changes on the linkedin profile update. Early in the process, when my resume writer did not contact me for a long time, I asked for a refund, but I was told that the company does not issue refunds if a writer signed up to do the work. The writer did signed up to do the work for me, but did not start any work on my resume for way more than a week. Basically, it was impossible to get a refund back despite work not being performed on timely manner. I could not even get partial refund.

No refunds even if they haven't started working on your project, even if ordered on accident, even if called, emailed within the hour. Seems very desperate for business if holding payment for no service hostage.

It is a scam. They have auto responses saying things are wrong with your resume, such as "visually uneven", or not enough action words/achievements/whatever. The people they send resumes to for rewrites are all in India, with varying levels of English competency and/or general knowledge of America.

Their "manual" resume review seems automatic to me. My resume, highly acclaimed for design, has been rated as "visually uneven". They encourage achievements on resume, not just things I did, and they said I use the latter, and gave examples like: "my site peaked at 20k visitors/day" as an example of "not an achievement". Just look at my resume: *** To me it looks like they only want to sell their resume-rewrite services.

Through ***, a company I used to trust, submitted a resume/CV for review just to polish it. What I received in return was worthless drivel. For the amount of money I paid, I am disappointed in the lack of attention paid to detail in the documents that were sent. I think it fairly obvious that some automated program was used to cut and paste sections (there were font shifts remaining from my original documents) and there were errors that a basic editorial review would have corrected, such as the actual letters of my master's degree and that Baltimore is in the state of Maryland and not Florida, and misspellings of place names. I wonder if the writers are even human beings, possibly they are bots. If the writer is a person, I think it obvious they are not from the U.S., or native English speakers. If you already have a decent resume and basic command of the English language, this is a waste of money and scam. Now they have all of my personal information and I dread to think what will be done with it.

No value for the resume revision and cover letter service offered. They offer three tiers of service. I went the highest tier thinking I would get the best results. The revised resume I received back had typographical errors, including the laughable misspelling of my name, was riddled with grammatical errors, and inflated facts from my resume beyond “a little fluffing”. The person who was assigned to me didn’t seem very business savvy on top of all that, so I requested another writer. The second writer was no better than the first. The whole thing feels like a scam to me. Based on the grammatical errors and non-sentences I think the writers are non-native speakers of English who are using a software application to plug noun phrases into a template. I say this because I chose the “Executive” level of service, even though I’m not looking for an executive position. Nothing in my resume shows that I have had executive level positions. The text slugs in the sample cover letter they provided presented me as an executive and read like a buzz word bingo card.
TopResume’s contract states clearly that they do not offer refunds. I already escalated and didn’t see any improvement so I’m not going to escalate again. I should have checked the company on the Revdex.com site, which I just did, they have a C- rating as of 6/14/2018. I received no value for the fee I paid.

These people are total scammers. I too was promised a CV with someone who "knew my industry" which they clearly did not. Upon raising this issue with them, I received no response; they continued to ignore my requests for a refund also. By the way, you absolutely ARE entitled to a refund, they do not decide this - the laws of the land do, so fight them for every last penny. I am currently submitting a complaint to a consumer watchdog about these sharks and the biggest shark of them all "katie w***", who loves to email, just doesn't love replying quite so much.

Awful experience. Been 3 weeks, no response from resume writer. Produced nothing, received no product. Stay away, this is a scam.

Scam. They did an initial review that had a bunch of highlighted information. Never talked to me or asked questions. Made it actually sound like I had experience things which I did not so it seems like they just use a template. Then on second review the person just closed it within 24 hours so I had no time to review it. My last review has a page and it just says "continue..." so it was clearly not even done. Tried to contact and no replies. Issuing a charge back. STAY AWAY!

DO NOT USE TOP RESUME!! It is a complete waste of money. I used this service and my resume draft looked worse than my original draft. It was ridiculously long and wordy. It looked as if it had been drafted by a high school student. So, after I was refused a refund, I requested a professional writer familiar with my profession to provide me a draft. This “professional draft” was no better than the first. They literally used all of the information in my original resume and changed the format to look like that of an inexperienced student and included unnecessary and unhelpful descriptions. I’m not sure why they require you to complete a survey because they in no way tailor your resume draft to resume conventions for your profession or tailor it to attract certain types of positions. This service is a joke. I wouldn’t be surprised if the writers were high school students serving as interns.
