Terrible. They made my resume look actually WORSE than it was to begin with. Copious use of meaningless buzzwords. Looks like it was written by someone who speaks english only as a second language. No refunds.

Like many others in my job search I took advantage of the free resume review from TopResume. After pining over it I decided that I would go with them as many of their reviews are good. I made the purchase and filled out the questionnaire immediately. The service purchased was the executive priority package stating I would have a first draft within a week. The writer asked more more info and I thought I had provided sufficient in my questionnaire. I receive an email on the 7th day stating they will have my draft by end of day tomorrow. Well this is interesting as I am supposed to have an expedited service with a top writer. The 8th day comes and passes, nothing. I sent a message stating I had filled out the questionnaire and I was satisfied with what I provided and asked for an update, no response. I reach out to them on what was then the 17th day, yes the 17th day, asking what is going on and stating that this is clearly ridiculous. They state they will contact my writer who obviously does not care and has no accountability and I should hear back by then end of the following day. As compensation they offer a free after interview thank you letter. I am a skilled professional and needed help revamping my resume to a more modern format and nothing more. I found this extremely insulting that they would not jump to do more than make me wait even longer. I reply immediately stating this is unacceptable and I do not accept this as a method of repentance. I received a response stating they have now paired me with a new writer and they will reach out soon to schedule a call, previously $50 now complimentary because they messed up so bad, for the following Monday. That means I have to wait an addition 3 days making it a total of 21 days before I even have a word written on a draft!!!! I have asked for a full refund and am awaiting their response. I feel baited and trapped by a company that solely wanted my money and had no interest in providing me with the professional services that I was promised and paid for. Their lack of attention to timelines is ludicrous. I will never work with them and do not recommend them in the least bit to anyone.

Horrible experience. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THIS SERVICE. I feel robbed of my time and money. Any service you need to pay up front and in full should be a warning. Why I thought this would be a worth while exercise I do not know.
After paying in full, I was given a resume that was riddled with grammatical errors and typos. It highlighted experience from 10 years ago and had current experience buried. It felt like a high school student plugged my info into a generic template. The writer did no research on my industry. I was shocked at how bad the first draft was.
I immediately complained I requested a full refund. The whole experience has been a nightmare.
It took months to get a partial refund. Theses people are crooks and the business is shady. You can't even talk to the writer directly to discuss your project.
STAY CLEAR.

I thought I would give this company a fair chance before I posted here, giving them the opportunity to make my Resume right.
Initial motivation:I responded to a Glass Door request for a free interview critique. Within 24 hours, I received a critique showing that my current resume was rated about 58% in many areas of exposure, and a promise that I would experience twice as many interviews within 60 days, or they would re-rewrite it for free.
I have never had my Resume professionally written, so I thought it would be worth spending the $219.00 to work with one of their "specialists in my industry" to spruce up my Resume, and get me the 60% more interview exposure.
During and after my order, it stated that I would be matched with a technical writer, who would get back to me in 1-2 days, and that I would see a rough draft within 5-6 days. On the 8th day, I sent an email asking when I would be assigned to a technical writer, and did not get any response whatsoever. I sent another email, and yet still no response. There was no phone number, or any other options for contacting them via the emailed receipt I received.
I then posted a review on another site, and was eventually met with a response. The response stated that they were escalating my Resume to match me with a writer.
I got an email from the writer, with an introduction, but no interview questions of any kind regarding my experience nor skills. I then received a draft, which had duplicate bullet points, and clear misspelling of technical applications in my industry (Example *** from ***, was spelled ***). Multiple duplication of bullet points, and complete removal of relevant past experiences. Did not focus on my specialties, and generalized everything else. The title at the top of the Resume, purported that I was seeking a job as a Chief Information Officer, when I was focusing on Network Engineer. Is it possible this was just a simple template that was being altered, hence the mistakes?
The cover letter I paid extra for was a generic joke, and not at all original. It was definitely a template that I would be embarrassed to provide anyone in my industry.
In short, I responded with all of the clerical, as well at grammatical mistakes, and although there was slight improvement, it was no where near the quality I expected, and the cover letter remained a novice template with "fill in the blank" information for even my own name.
I regret not either purchasing a Resume generation software, or locating a more reputable firm for $219.00 I spent (even though they immediately sent me an email with a 35% off discount).

As in the Monopoly Game, when you select the Go to Jail card, you run past go and go directly to jail. Frankly, if you choose them, sorry but you got this card. My sound advice to you is to run, do not waste a dime of your time, money and effort with this company. I am sincerely angry and dissatisfied in the quality of work put forth on my resume and cover letter. Although I would love to be an executive, I am not. I was labeled as an executive, the documents were filled with grammatical and punctuation errors. Quite frankly the resume was poorly written and did not highlight my many years of experience and hard work. I feel like I have been legally robbed of over $200 dollars. Shame on TopResume!! Wonder if the zero star is available?

It is now 7 days later, still no product. I received a second email now stating they are trying to pair another writer with me. Are you kidding me? If I had to rely on a resume from them, I will be homeless at the rate they are going. I have since compiled my own resume, cover letter and LinkedIn profile. All three are attracting me to employers. Just awful that I got duped and not entitled to a refund. Thank you so much TopResume. You're a joke. Learned a valuable lesson to always check reviews on a company before I invest my hard earned money.

Customer Response • Mar 21, 2018

Update...I responded to TopResume's inquiry regarding my email address. On March 18, a rep emailed me that a writer had been matched with my account and that I would receive a first draft on March 15. My response to them, your email is 3 days late?? Then I receive an email that John is my assigned writer. Here it is March 21, no response and no resume. Reputable business, NOT!!!!

I was promised that the writer would have experience in "my industry," which wasn't true. Therefore, I spent too much time teaching her about the business, roles and industry terms. They limit the number of edits but I was correcting her mistakes! I think they have unqualified writers and their guarantee has a 6 month time limit, I waited 7 months unfortunately to complain. Now, they are doin me a favor offering to clean it up, without talking to the writer. That's $50 more! Garbage in, garbage out. Avoid this company.

Hi ***,
I'm very sorry to hear that. I looked into your account and it seems like the customer care team is taking care of your order.

My fundamental problem with this service is that there was no communication with the resume "expert" regarding my goals or background that would have been necessary for someone to see my experience from a different perspective and convey it. It relies on the work that I have already done and simple rephrases it. There is no expertise involved, as promised. There were multiple spelling and formatting issues, as well as omissions, including the dates I received my degrees. I asked for the resume to be resubmitted through the automated system, which initially identified deficiencies, but even after the revision, there was no difference in the results. Moreover, it is not cohesive. It's a combination of a few jobs I said I was interested in without thoughtfully and meaningfully tying together the experience to address any job. Don't waste your money. No value in the service.

Talent Worldwide Response • Feb 23, 2018

Hi ***,
Our writers do need to rely on your original resume because it is the best way for us to extract information on your career. If the writers don't feel like they have enough information then they would reach out. I'm very sorry to hear that you aren't happy with your experience.

I put in an order to have one of your skilled resume writers help me make my resume sleek, formatted better, better summarize my achievements and past job duty—and overall my professional. I'm a writer myself, but I thought your resume experts would know what hiring managers and recruiters were looking for in my industry.
I am very unhappy with my service. The resume is riddled with typos, the job summaries do not make sense, and I feel that my original resume was much more readable, made sense, etc. This resume from TopResume was not useable and I had to start all over, wasting over $100.
Good customer service means righting a wrong, which TopResume refuses to do. This is what one of their customer reps said:
"As all sales are final, we would not be able to provide you a refund of any kind, especially since we weren't notified of these concerns during the project revision period. We do offer an editing service, which we could provide at a reduced rate for $50, but given the time that's passed, we're not able to do this for free."
I'm very unhappy with TopResume, and I will steer my friends and peers away from this service.

Talent Worldwide Response • Feb 23, 2018

Hi ***,
I'm very sorry to hear about your experience. We do charge $50 for additional edits if it goes past a certain number of revisions. However, I'll let our team know about your order and have them review for its quality.

I uploaded my resume 2 weeks ago. When I submitted my resume it said I would have a critique within 24-28 hours and I have received nothing. I emailed on Saturday 2-3-18 to see if they received my resume and I have not received any contact. My resume is out of date (which is why I submitted it to them) as I have not worked in 12 years. I was hoping to gain a good critique and then proceed to use their services for writing a resume. But I am not going to do that if I can't even get a critique from the.

Talent Worldwide Response • Feb 05, 2018

Hi ***,
Thank you for your feedback. I took a look into your critique in our system but I wasn't able to locate your email. I was able to locate your critique, and it looks like you made a typo on your email address. Hence, you didn't receive anything from us. Please contact our customer care team and we'll send you a private link to view your critique.

Barbara my writer did a great job. She focused on the parameters that I stated and gave me a draft that was outstanding. My call backs have increased, all in all a great experience and huge value for money.

Not worth the waste of money. Not happy I gave it a shot since *** recommend them and the first hookup email looked ok and interesting on how my resume would end up being formatted. Good phishing technique. The person has an Name an last name and looks professional. The reality is not. I purchased the Executive package, with the linked in makeover which is only a copy paste of your final resume and you have to do it. I purchased the 48hrs rush which is misleading if you are expecting to have your resume in 48 hours. It only forces the writer, which by the way, doesn't have a last name, very unprofessional replying only before the 48 hrs limit and at night. If you are in a hurry this is note the place. The site doesn't have a login page or something else to check you progress, everything is by email. The support email doesn't respond to any emails. Very bad. I would definitely not use this service again or even recommended. I will be also sending a complain to *** by partnering with them. But I guess they belong to the same company. Terrible service experience. I did a resume upgrade 6 years ago with a different service provider and it was worth every penny. This should have a B- rating, not A.

Talent Worldwide Response • Jan 30, 2018

Hi ***,
I'm sorry to hear about your experience, to clear up any confusion, our 48-hour rush is for you to get the first draft of your resume and not the final draft. Since writing a resume require feedback and revisions, it is difficult for us to produce a satisfactory final draft without your feedback. Also, thank you for your feedback, we'll work to improve on our website's user experience.

Sara my writer did a great job. She focused on the priorities and soon afterwards got a job in a big tech company in Germany from Nigeria. The recruiting service did not work for me but overall it was a great experience and huge value for money.

I ordered an "executive level" re-write of my resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn profile and paid in advance. I then answered a very detailed questionnaire about my career. I was matched with a writer who was supposed to be "familiar with my field" however, she sent the first draft of a resume and cover letter, riddled with typos and inaccurate info, and frankly much worse than the version I had done myself. I sent through bulleted changes I wanted to see, only to receive a half-assed revision which addressed none of my concerns and an email which scolded me for not giving detailed feedback. But. I did. In clearly outlined bullets. To make matters worse, I've spent the entire day trying to get in touch with someone, ANYONE, in customer service, and it is proving to be impossible. So now I'm super mad and I don't trust the company to be able to deliver on what I paid for. I want a refund in full and to terminate my working relationship with them.

I'm sorry it took us so long to respond. It seems like you contacted us during our off hours yesterday, on January ***. Our customer care team is available from 9am to 6pm EST. However, I took the liberty to review your order with an editor and I have processed a full refund. One of our managers will also reach out to you later today. I apologize for the inconvenience.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved--IF in fact I do see the refund hit my account in the next ten business days as promised by their customer service team.

I was extremely pleased with the final product HOWEVER the process was unsettling. My first resume writer returned my final resume with errors and duplicate entries. When I brought this to Top Resume's attention, they assigned me a Senior Writer. This is really unsettling because everyone is not receiving the same quality of talent. Why is there even a difference? The final resume from the Senior Writer was exceptionally better than the first resume writer's and had I not had the incident then I would have unknowingly settled with a sub-par resume. Again, pleased with the final product, but how do you know you're getting top quality with your resume when writers have drastically different styles?!?!

I had an excellent experience with Top Resume. They modernized the layout of my resume and cover letter. I was a bit skeptical of how they cut down significantly any work history greater than 10 years old, but their method proved fruitful and not only did I get more calls/interviews immediately with their updated resume, I accepted a job offer on their updated resume shortly after starting to use it. I did have questions along the way on why they made the choices they did (i.e., deleting history, prioritizing certain aspects of my work), but they answered them all with solid logic and perspective of what was happening in the current job market.

I ordered a CV+Cover Letter+48 hours expedited and recevied my first drafts after 5 days! The writer had limited their work to 2 pages-only and had left the rest of my CV untouched. While purchasing the deal nowhere I could see the deal is for two-pages only. I asked 10 questions and commented on their edits and they only replied to 1 of my concerns. Then, I asked if they can provide actuall wording suggestions, but instead all they offered was a template standardization of my CV and redcong it to two-pages by leaving the rest of my experiences unattended. I asked another 7 questions and again they ignored my questions and replied that my service is over and deadline is passed for communication. I am completely unsatsified with my experience and I would claim a full refund if I could.

Talent Worldwide Response • Jan 17, 2018

Hi ***,
I'm sorry to hear about your experience. We don't have a limit of pages to the length of the CV's we write. I see on your order that your latest revision has four pages. If you have any concerns or if you think there are any miscommunication, please do not hesitate to reach out to our customer care team.

I recently transitioned from the Army but, I was having no success with the resume I prepared before I left the service. On a whim, I used the resume and cover letter service of TopResume. I am very pleased with the results as I have already been contacted for an interview. I cannot express enough how Thankful and pleased I am. LaTanya Thank You so much for your efforts and assistance!! Fingers crossed that I get the position!!

Submitted an order for a $314 resume, but cancelled my order right afterwards because I realized it was a service I used before and was unhappy with the product. I immediately notified billing that I would like them to return the funds, however, before sending any confirmation, receipt, or finished product, I was told that all sales were final.
FALSE ADVERTISING and NOT WORTH THE MONEY.

Talent Worldwide Response • Jan 11, 2018

Hi ***,
Thank you for your feedback. After checking your account, it seems like our customer care team was able to resolve your concerns.

This company is attempting to send me collections for services never rendered to me.

Talent Worldwide Response • Jan 24, 2018

Hi ***,

I'm writing to confirm that you have NOT been sent to collections, and the emails for payment is due to the fact that you selected the 3x$79 installment plan. Usually, after the purchase you need to fill out a pre-draft questionnaire for our writers to better understand what needs to go on your resume. Since you have not filled out the questionnaire, we were unable to produce a draft. Having read this complaint, I'm assuming you do not want to go forward with our services. I'll go ahead and refund the original $79 charge.

Best regards,

Gary

Overall, My experience with TopResume was positive. Billie, my resume writer, communicated effectively and edited my resume and cover page to the specifications that I requested. I paid for the "best" package. I am not sure that the price I paid is truly worth the final product.
According to TopResume I was getting the top 10% of resume writers. My final product, while professional, does not feel like a top 10% written resume. I feel that I would have still received a well written resume of equal quality from one of their "lower" % staff.
The cover letter I paid for is the same, a very nice cover letter, I again get a feeling that I could have received the quality, without paying so much.
The LinkedIn page, again, is of nice quality but does not have a top 10% written feel.
The 48 hour turn around was beyond exceptional. I placed my order on Thursday, and right before New Years, Billie was able to provide me with a draft on Saturday, even though I was told it would be available until the 2nd, and provided me with a final within a few days.
DO NOT PAY FOR THE RECRUITING SERVICE. I am not sure what the point was, I submitted and the only information I have received about a job was a pyramid scheme. I only know that it came from them because he advised me he received my resume from a recruiter associated with the recruiting service.
Again, overall my experience was positive. I just think you may be better off paying for less. In this case less is more!
