Talent Worldwide Reviews (%countItem)

I had my resume crafted back in April for $219. I supplied my original resume along with information shared through a questionnaire. The first draft was not what I expected and I expressed my concern along with additional information around my background, successes as well as a couple of job descriptions that I was interested in pursuing. I was told that if I wanted to discuss, it would be an additional charge and that they found most success in communicating via email. The second draft was honestly worse then the first and decided at that time to move on. I am about to work with another agency since my resume has been described by others as sub-par. Very disheartening.

I hired this company to rewrite my resume for $129. I received a few emails and a promise to send the professionally revised resume on August *. I have not received the resume and my emails are bouncing back undelivered. I want a refund. This company should be closed down. What happened to my personal resume information.

Like the others before me I say DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I knew my resume was outdated and thought that I would have a "professional" look at it. Of course I should have been prepared for an internet scam. It took two weeks for a response and my new resume was a joke. I have been working for over 30 years and only they had was a one page "overview". Please people do not make the same mistake I did, save your money and look for a template on the internet, trust me anything would be better than the *** they sent.

I was paired with a "resume expert" who was pretty obviously an underpaid/exploited gig worker who had zero experience writing anything professionally. They returned a draft of my resume that was SIGNIFICANTLY worse than the one I wrote myself, riddled with typos, missing punctuation, and completely unintelligible language. It was super obvious that they had taken several sentences I had originally written, rearranged the words haphazardly, and used a thesaurus to replace words with synonyms that didn't make sense in context, resulting in what was basically nonsensical word salad. I was offered the chance to ask for edits, but realized that the entire thing was so completely unusable that I was basically paying THEM so that I could rewrite the ENTIRE THING by myself again. I had more edits than usable content. I paid over $200 for a "professionally written" resume and cover letter and what they sent back was completely embarrassing garbage. I eventually complained enough to enough people that I got a 50% refund, which still feels like a slap in the face.

On -JUL-2020 I purchased an "Executive Priority Resume Writing Package" that included:

- Executive writer - Top 10% of our network
- Formatted for success - Formatting that will get an employer's attention.
- Keyword optimized - Your resume will be optimized to pass through Applicant Tracking Systems.
- Cover letter - Employers are 40% more likely to read a resume with a cover letter.
- 60-day interview guarantee.
- LinkedIn Makeover - 97% of employers use LinkedIn; we'll rewrite your profile.

On that same day, I filled out the required questionnaire and I was assigned to a writer on -JUL-2020. Her first email reads:

"I have reviewed the information you provided; based on what you have listed as your primary career goal, I will create a resume to target Quality Manager/Director, Operational Excellence Manager/Director, Continuous Improvement Manager/Director, and Operations Manager/Director positions.".

The first interactions were fine and the process required constant feedback and requests for corrections from my end. Those interactions made me think that this particular writer was not "Top 10%" as stated on the TopResume website, but I trusted the process. Another reason for concern was the fact that the cover letter included sections that were clearly for a creative position, not an engineer with my background. It looked like it was copied and pasted from another cover letter but after several requests, the writer mentioned that:

"It looks like the cover letter had some templated language that should have been changed. I've updated that verbiage to better reflect your experience".

After several more interactions, I made a final request to use my final CV and LinkedIn profile to go through the ATS scan, to make sure it reflected the target positions that I mentioned were properly targeted. However, the order was closed before my final approval and I was disappointed to find out that my profile was "concentrated in Knowledge and Learning Management / Knowledge and Learning Management, with exposure to Engineering / Process" and only included 17 years of experience, instead of the 22 years of experience I have. It was mentioned that the ATS scan was "generalist", but even so, I would be targeted by a company looking for a person with my background/experience.

Since then, I have requested for either a re-do of the process or a refund to take my business elsewhere. I have raised this issue to my writer, Customer Support and even a "TopCV CV Expert" with no success either way.

The whole process has been disappointing and I am having a hard time to consider this writer a Top-10% as stated.

On 7//20 I purchased a resume package for $219. I received my newly written resume and cover letter template on 7//20. According to the site I had 7 days to do two rewrites. I noticed a few misspelled words and grammatical errors and I had two additions I wanted added so I sent those in to the writer immediately and told him that the resume was missing my assessments from indeed. He told me that he did not see any assessments on his side. He then sent me back a first revision which he listed as a third revision. I was using the software Open Office which included a text writing program similar to MS Word but I was not able to get my downloaded copy of the resume in .rtf fo it format correctly. He told me they do drafts in .docx MS Word format and that was most likely my problem. (Had it been saved in .rtf rich text format instead of .docx word document format I would have been able to view it correctly. I decided to buy the MS Office 365 for $60.00 on line so I would be able to use my resume and cover letter the way they wrote them. Now I have spent $279 for the resume and cover letter. the way the resume was written is that it listed only the work details of my previous three jobs. The other jobs I had held were simply listed with Company name, position and years worked. I told him I did not like that and he replied "I would actually advise against adding any more for a couple of reasons. A) You'll go beyond two pages. B) We actually usually leave off items that are older in nature to avoid age discrimination. Or if we do list them, we simply list years of service. I feel currently that your Indeed scores / info is probably more helpful to you on the resume than these older jobs." I decided that I would listen to him and take his advice. On 7//20 I was contacted by two different prospective employers and after speaking with them they both said my resume should have included at least brief job duties for each job I had previously had. I contacted Top Resume and told him this and he replied "Thank you for your message. So I actually invited support to weigh in yesterday as the service is for the resume plus two revisions. Since we hit 7 (yes some of them were small) I thought it would be helpful for them to come in with any additional thoughts. I certainly appreciate you've gotten other advice. I think almost all of the information provided is reflected in the resume. I know yesterday you provided more companies which I added. They should weigh in by the end of today or tomorrow, so I'd like to see their thughts before we enter an 8th draft.". I then got this email: *** .

I feel I am paying $219 for this resume and it should be done the way I expect it to be. I don't think the typo's by the writer and missing info that he did not see on his side should count as a rewrite. I asked that my last draft be evaluated using their ATS software so I could see the difference based on the logical numbers that hiring managers would use and there was little or no change. If I am being told by two different companies that my resume is missing information then I think they should listen.

We have communicated with this client directly about the strategies and decisions employed with the professional documents provided. The resume designed includes keywords, important skills, and qualifications related to the client's expressed job target. Industry standards state resumes should be 1 to 2 pages in length and should focus on the most recent 10 years of work history. Per the customer's request, we extended the document length to expand on their training and work history beyond 10 years. The writer partnered with this client and provided comprehensive assistance, with seven document revisions, whereas most projects are completed within 2 rounds of revisions. We have also explained how ATS systems work and how his information is being captured/represented.

We are happy to continue a dialogue about his documents should he like to contact us again at

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID. The company has reached out to me and stated "Since you purchased the Career Evolution package, we do have a 60-day guarantee. If in 60-days you
are not receiving interviews with your new resume kindly let us know
and we will rewrite it for free. You will be eligible after September
***, 2020." If I do not get any interviews by then I will request that my resume be rewritten. At this time I find that this resolution is satisfactory to me conditionally, but if I need to have my resume rewritten I will be reopening this claim.

Sincerely

Stay as far away as possible from this sham operation. It's a classic high-cost, then mediocre service bait-and-switch scheme.
1. No matter what you upload as your resume, you will receive the same "comments" from a "resume expert". You will receive an automated message telling you that your resume is "visually uneven", uses "passive voice" construction, and other vague comments that are true of the largest fraction of resumes, statistically speaking. You can upload your resume, a file with random gibberish characters, or a potato, and you'll get the same comments (more or less).
2. They are RELENTLESS in their crusade to have you pay them. They show up everywhere on job sites, forums, etc., asking if you want "a resume expert to review [your] resume for free", or some such nonsense attached to a job application, a resume upload screen, or hidden in various places on employment websites. The most egregious example in my memory is Lensa job postings, which will ask you to submit your resume every single time you read a job description.
3. If you get roped into paying them (DO NOT DO THIS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES), you'll be paired with a "real" resume writer to make changes to your resume. The "experts" will take an absurd amount of time to "fix" your resume, but in reality they likely won't change anything at all of substance. I get the impression that not only do these "writers" not know your industry or how to help you, but some likely don't speak English as a first language. They'll charge you an arm and a leg, kick your resume to some random, low-wage employee with no resume-writing credentials or record of success, then force them to pump out garbage for as many customers as possible.
If you can, I suggest you block the domain so you don't accidentally send your resume to them, as I unfortunately just did AGAIN through a deceptive survey question. This company is a real cancer when you're trying to improve your resume or look for a job.

My writer lied on my resume and doubled my years of experience. This company is a huge disgrace and has zero integrity. My writer also left MANY significant errors in grammar and spelling. A complete joke.

I paid $249 for the Executive Priority Resume Writing Package: (1) resume writing, (2) cover letter writing, and (3) improvement of LinkedIn profile. I had one week to work with their writer on two iterations of each segment. I received one iteration of my resume and cover letter, provided feedback, was promised someone would get back to me and no one has. And today is the deadline for the completion of the service.

We have communicated with this client since the initial filing. The writer has delivered email correspondence and document revisions through Friday, 8/*/20. This project is still open, and we encourage the client to communicate any additional concerns/document needs with the writer or our Support Team.

After several attempts to work with the writer to correct grammatical and formatting issues, the issues continue. Simple issues, such as incorrect dates, spacing, and doubling skills. An extremely frustrating experience. Requests to be reassigned to another writer are met with a response notifying customers that process could take 7-10 business days. Note: I have already been working with TopResume for 3 weeks. The company claims the process take 2 weeks, this is not what I experienced and to add another week on top of that is a bit infuriating.

Talent Worldwide Response • Aug 08, 2020

We communicated with this client directly since the initial filing of this complaint. Our Operations Manager contacted the client and together they agreed on a favorable resolution. The client was reassigned to a different writer and has received new documents. We respectfully request this claim be resolved.

iI am no stranger to paying someone to help with improving my resume. So when TopResume (***) contacted me to improve and target my resume to my desired profession; I was fine with it. After the online screening was completed; they stated my resume would be completed within 2 weeks (with time to locate the writer, time to work on resume, provide feedback and submit final product). They kept in touch with me when they were locating the writer then sent me an email stating that I am running out of time to review my resume. I NEVER RECEIVED THE RESUME! I called, sent an email, contacted all of the numbers/emails but still have not gotten my resume. Instead, they provided me with a generic email stating "Thank you for your email.

In reviewing your account, we do see that your assigned writer has reached out to you on the *** July 2020.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.

Best,

Katie Warren
TopResume Resume Expert
***
However, THEY NEVER SENT ME THE RESUME! This agency is a SCAM and I paid $220 TO OBTAIN A RESUME A REVIEW. Certainly, they took the money and nothing received from them ONLY FALSE HOPE.

We sincerely regret any misunderstanding with this client's documents and the delivery of the documents. The writer delivered the documents in email on 7/*** and again on 7/. The client contacted our Support Team via a different email address, and they responded with the document attachments. On 7/, we provided the client a URL link, which is an alternate way for them to retrieve their documents. The client should be in possession of the documents, but we welcome them to contact us at should there be an further complications.

I paid $149 for a resume writing service. The work was completely unacceptable as outlined below:

6/*** - Purchase made
6/*** - Top Resume sent the 1st draft. I responded expressing my disappointment as I asked for my resume to be enhanced and stronger language. Instead, most of the information was deleted and replaced with generic job descriptions off the internet which is extremely unprofessional.
6/*** - Top Resume responded telling me they didnt know my specific job so had to look it up and asked ME to DO MARK UPS, EDITS AND COMMENTS. I am paying for a service and asked to do the work! So I had to spend hours rewriting my own resume which is the service I paid for. I responded with the comments and how disappointing it was to do the work for them! The resume was also a very confusing format and I had several people review it and all feedback was that it was awful and unprofessional.
6/*** - I finally received a response with excuses why they had to ask me to do the work and justifying why they chose a confusing format and STILL asking me to give them more feedback and information!
7/- I got a final version of the resume which was exactly the same resume and even had highlighted areas with information missing that I was supposed to fill in myself?
7/- I wrote a note back to Top Resume requesting a refund and outlining why
7/*** - I get a response saying sorry it took so long to respond but we will set you up with another resume writer to try to do it again with someone else. This is 30 days later and I no longer need the resume! I responded immediately advising I will not use the service and I wanted the refund. Its now 1 week later and I still have no response.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and while I do not agree it is acceptable, I will take it to move through the process. I cannot accept the offer to assign me a different resume writer because the object of using the service was to have a 10 day turn around. It has now been months since I needed the resume so I used another service which did an amazing job. I would not recommend Top resume as a service to anyone looking for a professional resume.

Sincerely

This company told me their services with *** were different than the free services and so I paid them $50 for their partnership with ***
They lied, it is the exact same service and they will not refund me even though I had asked about this!

This client purchased a recruiter.com service, which is something we offer as an add-on to our main resume services. We are a conduit for the recruiter.com service, but otherwise have no involvement with the service delivery.

Our understanding is the client utilized the service but was not happy with it. We do not have additional information about the problems experienced.

We will gladly reach out to the recruiter.com team and ask their assistance to help this client.

Despite providing detailed background, detailed edits and offered to go into further detail about my career the TopResume writer was not able to clearly articulate my professional background several grammatical errors. I had to remind the writer that I purchased both a cover letter and a resume. The cover letter was not geared towards my profession and extremely outdated. It took a very long time to receive a draft back. When I did receive a draft, it was expected of me to have the edits back the same day as he sent the draft, despite the wait time on his end and receiving them during evening hours and the weekend. The writer continued to push the deadline which was the same day that he provided the first draft after my initial feedback, I didn't even provide feedback twice as stated in the package. The first draft after feedback there was significant grammatical errors and was significantly outdated. When he sent the resume over after my first edits I didn't even receive a cover letter despite clear feedback via email. When I requested the cover letter it was the same one as he gave me initially.

I reached out to TopResume Support via email to receive an extension of time initially and did not get a response back. When I called TopResume they said they would put me with another writer and rewrite my LinkedIn because it is nonrefundable. After I called, TopResume Support emailed me back extending the deadline but clearly was not notified that I was receiving a new writer. At this point, I have not heard back from anyone at TopResume about a new writer. I called again to follow up on a new writer because they do not provide reimbursements and I was put on hold when they heard that there was an issue. I had to call back again and the agent said they would leave a message and assign it to someone and they will call me back. I have not received a callback, I have not received a new writer.

Talent Worldwide Response • Aug 03, 2020

We truly regret the delays this client experienced. Current market demands have unfortunately created longer than normal delivery times. At the time of this complaint, we had communicated to the client that we would secure a new writer and provide updated documents. These documents were delivered on 7//20. We encourage the client to contact us with any questions or additional document concerns so we can complete her project and ensure the final drafts align with her professional goals. We will also reach out to the client to determine any additional needs.

This resume writing service guarantees customer satisfaction and promises to pair you with a professional in the industry in which your job hunt is focused. I requested a refund upon receiving a highly unsatisfactory first draft and have since requested a refund over 4 times without much success. The writers they pair you with are extremely unknowledgeable and unprofessional. I paid $314 for a package to include resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn profile after receiving the complimentary review, suggesting I quantify my skills (via percentages and numerals) to turn my accomplishments into achievements. It's been almost 3 weeks since I placed the order and I've only received 2 replies from the writer assigned to me. From the initial survey and in each email I responded with concerns over pricing and voiced my dissatisfaction in the quality of the documents presented to me. I requested 2 versions of my resume to highlight my experience as I pursued two different types of work in two different industries in which I possess significant experienece. Not only did the documents returned to me come littered with basic grammatical errors, they were simplistic rewrites of what I had provided and written. The documents includes a 2-page resume of all my experience and did nothing to fulfill my expressed request to highlight skills and experience by industry. They didn't do anything to quantify my skills. I have had to wait a week or more between replies for work that might take a few minutes to an hour at most. The supposed rewrite and formatting are a nightmare. The quality of what's written is so unprofessional a high school student could have done a better job. They're not making any effort to fulfill their promise of guaranteed satisfaction and don't seem to be taking my feedback or requests seriously. They have simply generated documents they desire rather than what I paid for. The communication time is abysmal. They've cost me several job opportunities and have this far ignored/refused my continued requests for an immediate refund in the event they could not meet my expectations--even though in the second email their ”professional writer” admits he will not meet my expectations, claiming my very simple request is against policy and would require a second $314 purchase. The fact that he had the audacity to suggest I double my invest upon receipt of explicit recurring feedback that I was extremely dissatisfied with 4 or more requested refunds later floored me. Money hungry and devote of professionalism is the only way I can describe these crooks.

Customer Response • Aug 12, 2020

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# *** and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here]

I have made my expectations clear since the beginning. If your so called "professional resume writer" could not meet those expectations and the request of 2 versions of my resume, he should have stated so outright and I would have requested a refund immediately. However, he insisted he did not do that until after several interactions. He drafted what he wanted instead of what I requested. I have no use of a curriculum vitae--which is essentially what he provided. He simply rewrote the resume I provided to encompass all my experience. I requested 2 resumes tailored to suit 2 different job searches. I made that clear that that was what I sought in the initial questionnaire and several times in email with the writer assigned to me and to the individual who constructed the initial review of my resume. Every step of the way I expressed concerns over the price paid and the lack of confidence I had in the person selected to construct my resume. TopResume makes a promise of pairing you with a professional in your industry--at no point did the writer ever provide any indication of professionalism or qualifications to prove he was indeed a professional in any industry. He returned documents not to specification, without any of the desired changes or additions (i.e. no quantifiable skills) and littered with unprofessional typos and errors. After 1-2 failed drafts, which again he crafted based on his own choice and not per my instruction, he finally admitted he could not--or would not--be able to construct the resumes to my specifications. At which point, I again requested a refund and expressed my dissatisfaction. I will reiterate that the response time with this individual was abysmal (1-2 responses a week, when responses by the reviewer claimed they should be every 2 days or sooner) and I've now spent 2-3 months fighting for a refund on what should have been a simple project with a quick 1-2 week turnaround time had a professional resume writer (especially one in industry) been assigned to my project and simply spent the few minutes to review the questionnaire responses for instructions/expectations prior to getting started. If my project requests, which are completely normal in this industry, were not to this writer or TopResume capabilities, the writer and TopResume should have been able to either state he/they could not help me and promptly provide a refund without ever having started on the project. I'm sorry their "professional" wasted his time, but that was by his choice. My expectations were made clear from the start. The "documents" sent to me have never been used and will not be used because they're not professional, polished final copies or anything close. Therefore, my request for a full refund stands. I have not been provided one resume, much less the two requested, which can be used in a job search. The cover letter provided was also incomplete and unusable as it referenced the incomplete resume. Both were broad overviews of all skills rather than highlights for two very distinct and different career paths. No skills were quantified--which was the sole reason I proceeded to order the package in the first place. No LinkedIn was ever constructed, not even drafted--which I assume is because the documents were NEVER FINALIZED or approved of on any level. I am in no way satisfied with what was presented to me. I feel a high school student could do a better job with no training or skills. I'm not sure what is/was so challenging about accommodating a simple set of requests: 2 versions of the resume (one for retail management and one for administrative/editing and proofreading work done remotely) with my skills quantified to better showcase my achievements. Those are standard requests and should have been easy enough for an industry professional to handle within a 1-2 week timeframe. Instead all this time later, I am still having the same conversation with multiple people.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely

We contacted this client on 8/*** seeking resolution. We provided revised documents and a plan to complete her project (it is still on hold). It is also stated on our website, *** We will continue to offer solutions to complete the services procured.

As with others who have logged complaints about this company, On July *, 2020, I placed an order on top-resume for a resume, cover letter, and linkedin profile. Within a day, I felt like I had made the wrong decision. I received an amateurish revision to my resume. I responded immediately to this "expert writer" detailing issues and restating my goal (I timely completed TopResume's questionnaire including examples of job postings I was interested in and felt qualified for. I received another revision, this time, even worse. Clearly this person has either no idea or no interest in really helping me and I'm paying nearly $400 that. Last night, with only 72 hours until the deadline of my revision process I reached out to customer service. I've received no reply. Tonight I wrote to the original reviewer of my resume pleading for assistance or to be assigned to another writer. Then, the bad news. All sales are final, according to TopResume's website, and the Revdex.com has complaint after complaint. This is inexcusable and the company is making false claims. Boy, do I feel stupid...I could've paid a medical bill instead!

On June , 2020 I contracted with Top Resume to rewrite my professional resume. I made a credit card payment to the company of $179 on that day. I was contacted by an Arnold N. who sentd me a questionnaire I would need to complete in order for him to begin editing my resume. I spent 90-minutes completing this document and returned it to him. A few days later he sent me the first draft of my resume. Some of it was well written but much work was yet to be done.
Arnold N. asked that I edit his first draft of my resume in a way that allowed him to se my changes. I also included a page of notes about how to improve his work. He sent me his second draft a few days later. He didn’t include any notations of which of my edits he had changed. He also reverted some of my changes back to text that I had already told him I didn’t want to use. I sent him an email explaining my concerns and suggesting that we could schedule a phone call to save time. He replied that a phone call would be an extra charge.
I few days later I sent Arnold another email asking for him to annotate the changes he’d made so I know how to proceed. Instead of doing that he simply sent me an email saying he’d completed the work.
Today, July , I contact the customer service team at Top Resume. I explained my concern but the repressive was unwilling to help. At this pint I’ve invested more than 4-hours in this process and don’t wish to continue working with this company. I would like a full refund of my $179 payment.

We regret any misunderstanding about this client's project. We delivered the documents the client purchased and provided revisions. The process is collaborative. We expect there to be changes, questions, etc. before we finalize the documents. The client called our Support Team on 7/*** and explained that they were pursuing a chargeback with their bank. Once that occurs, we put the project on hold until further notification. The client can contact us directly at *** with updated information about his project status. We can reopen the account and provide any needed document revisions.

We cannot issue a refund for this project, as the services and documents have been delivered. We will gladly partner with the client on any document revisions and/or questions, as their satisfaction is important to us.

Waste of money!!!
The writer basically changed nothing only 2 to 3 words on my resume. The only thing he changed is the format, which led to a 2-page resume. Everyone knows that the resume should be 1-page!!!!
The cover letter was just a template with texts copy paste from the resume.
I provided my feedbacks the first day I received the first draft but the writer kept ignored them and asked me if he could close the deal. I sent the feedback 3 times and on the last day of 7-day period he sent me a new version, a worse one! I don't even know how to describe that, no one write the resume like that! Only unprofessional and irresponsible writer from TopResume!
So disappointing! Awful experience!!!

I signed up with TopResume after Katie W evaluated my resume posted on LinkedIn. According to Katie my resume was outdated and ineffective. After answering only a few questions, I received my NEW resume a few days later. The resume was identical to the resume I provided. I contacted Katie numerous times and asked to cancel and refund. NO response.

Loosing your job is already a difficult situation. TopResume has made it even worse. Selecting a business on LinkedIn seemed to be a safe choice. Unfortunately I was wrong.

TopResume has offered a 30% discount/refund. I made clear from day one of my complaint that I do not wish to work with another writer or seek another revision. I have asked for a full refund, since NO services have been rendered or requested. TopResume representatives continue to slow down the process and blame COVID19.
I have contacted Jeff B -CEO of Talent Inc which owns TopResume. I truly hope he has the integrity to solve this issue.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely

We communicated with this client directly after this message was delivered. The client has direct access to our Operations Manager should he have additional questions or concerns. We respectfully request this claim be closed, as we secured a resolution with the client on 8/*/20.

I paid TopResume Company for writing my resume and cover letter. But I never received a single document on time and even if received I had to ask the writer several times about corrections and remind again and again about the closing date of job opportunity. Their service is too slow and when I contacted customer service for my refund, then they never replied back. However, deducted a second instalment on my account even after telling them I don't want to continue with the service. Now neither they are replying to my emails, nor giving my money back. I'm a student and have hand to mouth situation because of COVID and on the top of that this happened.

We regret any misunderstanding about this client's project. We delivered the documents the client purchased and provided revisions. The process is collaborative. We expect there to be changes, questions, etc. before we finalize the documents. The client called our Support Team and explained that they were pursuing a chargeback with their bank.
