This is not what my complaint is about. This company is obviously tap dancing around the issue. Look at my original complaint, I want my money back for over payment. I was supposed to make 56 installment payments that would have ended 6 months ago. But I have been billed past that point. I want the company to address the issue in my complaint.

I received an email a few weeks ago stating that my complaint had been closed because the company in question had responded. However, The College Network has still not sent me my reimbursement check 2 months later after stating the check would be sent in 7-10 buisness days. I would like to reopen, or start a new claim.

This company, The College Network (TCN) has taken 16 weeks to send me my exam fee for the first course. Within the contract between myself and TCN states that I (the purchaser) must test out of at least one course per 12 months. If they are allowed to take as long as they wish to send my exam fee checks,  it will be impossible for me to fulfill  that portion of the contract. I'm only "guaranteed" to pass if I make it through the courses. I cannot do so if they are allowed to take 4 to 6 months to send me my exam fee checks. In addition, I find it coincidental that this company is no longer licensed to sell this "service" in the state in which I reside.  I want nothing more to do with this company or the "service" that I paid over $10,000.00 for. I could not possibly have known within 5 days of purchase how this company does things.

However this is the same reply they always send me. They have been telling me since January that my checks are on the way. This is unacceptable. It does not take 5 months to send a check. They claim that processing takes 12 weeks. That is ridiculous and inexcusable. I have waited well over 12 weeks. If any clients owed them money you can bet they would demand payment within a few days and send a collection agency after them. They would not accept "Please be patient, my payment will take 12 weeks." NO ONE CONDUCTS BUSINESS THIS WAY!!

The College Network, Inc. (“TCN”) is an educational services and eLearning company which provides study material and support to help its customers pass college equivalency examinations.  TCN has assisted many customers in obtaining their degrees at the Associate, Bachelor’s or Master’s level.
 
TCN had a 5-Day Cancellation Policy. [redacted] did not contact TCN within five business days to cancel her contract. As requested TCN sent a Test Fee check to [redacted] on October 08, 2014.      
 
[redacted] enrolled with TCN on July 22, 2013 for the purchase of Comprehensive Learning Modules related to the Associate of Science in Nursing degree program offered by Excelsior College*.    
 
TCN would like to take this opportunity to remind [redacted] that her TCN program has a “Lifetime Guarantee”, including a testing guarantee**. In addition, TCN has developed the Academic Guidance Planner and TCNResourceCenter.  Those features were designed to assist TCN customers in reaching their educational goals.  The Academic Guidance Planner offers resources to help TCN customers determine what type of learner they are and the best way for them to study, organize their studies, and have a point of reference for their degree program progression. The TCNResourceCenter is a learning environment that allows TCN customers to access their Comprehensive Learning Module program in an online, interactive format. TCN also offers customers online practice testing and the ability to take examinations in the comfort of your home.

When I signed up with College Network, they had explained to me that I am paying for the program, they even showed me the classes that need to be comleted. It didn't say anywhere that I am paying for the materials to help me study. They had even asked me to show what classes I had previously taken. Even if it was only study materials that I had paid for, the materials do not cost almost 5,000, which is what I had paid. Another issue, I did sign up with Excelsior college not too long ago, and they had told that materials from College network are not accepted there and that they have their own study materials. They mentioned that they have nothing to do with College network. What I dont understand is that if the previous e-mail from College Network said that they provide materials for students of Excelsior college, and at the bottom of the email says that, "They are not affiliated with Excelsior College." I have no reason to use College Network's materials, because it's completely useless and is not accepted in my school. I had paid almost 5,000 dollars and it went straight to trash, I would like some kind compensation for paying sooo much money and never be able to use this material.

My complaint is the fact that is has taken over 4 months to receive a testing check. I pay a fee to The College Network that includes my testing fees, which should be made available to me when I request them. This generic response completely skirts around any and all complaints made about your company, both by myself and thousands of other unsatisfied customers. Your contract policy allows 5 days to cancel, there is no possible way a person could know within 5 days whether or not this program will suit their needs. I'm a single mother raising 2 children and working a full time job. My schedule does not always allow me to study on a regular basis, therefore when I do request a check for a testing exam fee I expect to receive it in a timely manner. ?

I was told there was a 30 day cancellation time period. I was told that I would be talking Indiana State classes or Excelsior classes through them. I was not told I would be given just material to help study but if I wanted the credits to actually count I would need to test through the actual college. It does not make since to pay one person for study material that doesn't follow that colleges classes. I would not have let that person pressure me into joining if I was given the correct information. They claim it's cheaper to join them which it isn't. I'm not satisfied with their response. I do not wish to study material that is useless.

I have recently discovered that Excelsior college is in no way partnered with TCN. I am unsure that I would be able to achieve my goals with TCN due to them not being in direct relation with an accredited RN program.

The response provided from TCN is a generic response and did not address any of the claims made against The College Network. In fact, I have read the same response given to someone else I know.  You state that I had 5 days to cancel with TCN, yet, who can determine if the program is legit or not in 5 days?  It took longer than 5 days for communication to take place with Excelsior College and for transcripts to be sent to EC and to be properly evaluated by them to learn the truth in regards to TCN.  I understand that you are now claiming you are a publishing company but the salesman you employ to represent your company made no such claim. Your representative made me believe as well as my husband that there was a tie in with Excelsior college. There is no such association or affiliation whatsoever. The bottom line is you are solely a publishing company with sales representatives pushing a product to make a money. The College Network is not an educational institution, therefore, your representatives are not qualified to advise potential students towards a college in which you have no affiliation.  The transcript evaluation performed by your sales associate was completely invalid because they are not qualified to perform transcript evaluations for a college they are not associated with or educational counselors that don't have experience with course equivalancies or standards. I was advised by my salesmen that I met all of the course requirements for the Excelsior College program, this was not the case when I was admitted to Excelsior College.  I was informed of other courses I needed to take.
Not only has there been fraudulant misrepresentation in this case, the product you are pushing does not meet the testing standards of Excelsior College. As previously stated in my original claim, I have had to purchase additional study materials to meet the expectations of Excelsior College. The loan I am making payments toward is absolutely absurd if I am obtaining a product that does not meet the testing requirements I was led to believe it would and am having to purchase additional materials to meet those requirements.
I still firmly believe that due to this misrepresentation as an educational institution affiliated with Excelsior College and lack of product standards described above and in my original claim, I believe that I deserve the cancellation of the contract between myself and The College Network and cancellation of the loan with Southeast Financial Credit Union.
