I appreciate The College Network's "being a good corporate citizen" but I am not satisfied with just canceling my contract. I waited for 3 weeks for a response from them and it happens that I received my response days after my $200 payment was automatically withdrawn from my checking account. I have paid over $5,000.00 into a program that will not benefit me AT ALL in the future. The "educational credits" they refer to will not help me in any way with my career or educational aspirations. These "classes" from the College Network do not transfer to ANY accredited college here in San Diego therefore is useless to me since my goal is getting my BSN. The College Network claims they want to help people pursue their "dreams" then by no means do I accept that this offer is being "a good corporate citizen". My resolution is a refund which I was not offered. As the College Network stated in their above response to my complaint they were accredited until December 2012. I feel that anything I have have paid since December 2012 should be refunded to me.

            TCN is an educational services and eLearning company which provides study material and support to help its customers pass college equivalency examinations.  TCN has assisted many customers in obtaining their degrees at the Associate, Bachelor’s or Master’s level.
 
[redacted] signed her purchase agreement for her Bachelor of Science degree program according to its terms on September 17, 2007.  At the time she signed her purchase agreement, the program that Ms. [redacted] purchased was approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing (the “CBRN”). In December, 2012, the CBRN changed its position and determined that its prior approval was erroneous.  TCN is working on solutions to this issue. 
 
TCN believes it has fulfilled its obligations under the contract and that Ms. [redacted] is obligated to fulfill its obligations under the contract, specifically to pay TCN for the educational materials and services provided.  It should be noted that Ms. [redacted]’s contract with TCN under the heading Customer Acknowledgment clearly states that TCN customers understand that “TCN is not responsible for changes to state board of nursing or other regulatory requirements, nor is it responsible for changes to state board of nursing or other regulatory requirements, nor is it responsible for the approval of various programs by any boards or agencies.”  
 
However, as a good corporate citizen, and without any admission and without any waiver, at this time TCN is willing to grant Ms. [redacted]’s request for cancellation under the following conditions:
 
 
 
 
            1.         Ms. [redacted] execute TCN’s Release and Settlement Agreement; and
 
2.               Upon that execution:
 
(a)       TCN will recall and close Ms. [redacted]’s loan in the approximate amount of $4,000.00 with [redacted] Credit Exchange Inc.
 
(b)       Monies paid by Ms. [redacted] under her contract with TCN will be treated as an “Educational Credit” which can be used by her at any time in the future to complete her advanced non-Certificate TCN educational program using TCN materials. 
 
Please have Ms. [redacted] call me and I will make arrangements to forward to her TCN’s Release and Settlement Agreement for her review and approval.

I want you to be informed that I did receive a check, however it is still very upsetting that I have been waiting since December and was only submitted a check after taking drastic measures. I was never allowed to speak with anyone other than the customer service advisor, when asked to speak with a supervisor or someone in the accounting department I am informed that they do not take calls from the public. I am VERY apprehensive about future dealings with this company. There is no excuse for a customer to wait NINE months for some form of resolution.  Another issue is the exam fee is $345 and I received a check in the amount of $325, so I have to pay the difference, remind you I have a ACH close to $200 being debited from my account monthly for installments. Another issue and one high on my list is the fact that this company seems to pass the buck. Meaning that the sales person was very misleading and the customer relations department seems to use this as a disclaimer stating "Sorry you were misinformed about how this program works". I was advised that this company works with Excelsior College and this is FALSE!! This service was sold to me as a means of saving funds so that when I am ready to take an exam all I had to do was pass their practice quizzes and exams with a 90% they would send me my monies. It is MY MONEY right. I have been informed by Excelsior College that they are not affiliated with this company and I should avoid doing any business with College Network, also to not use any material from them because it has not been approved by the college. I have informed college network of this information last week to no avail. I have also requested my next check to be sent for my Nursing Health and Safety to be summited and I am started all over again with this cycle by being told "I will send this request to the dispersal department and it will take up to 3 months for me to receive my check" I just would like my money back and cut my ties with this company because I don't want to have to file complaints with the Revdex.com every time I want a resolution.What would be satisfactory for me, since College Network has been pain in full by South East Credit Union and I am paying them back with interest of 12%, I would like a refund from College Network? Right now the remaining balance that I am paying to the Credit Union and to date I have paid $5834.15 and $2005.46 is interest. That said, I would like to come to a medium. If this company can refund me the remaining balance due to the bank in the amount of $3661.69, you would still profit $3832.06 for a services that you never provided so you will be paid close to $4000 for doing nothing, I will still lose several thousand dollars however I would rid this financial burden and the inconveniences that come with doing business with College Network. This is a very reasonable offer because this is a one sided deal and I am getting the short end of the stick. Please make me a happy consumer but letting me walk away and having the financial means to continue my education, I can don't no longer wish to be stressed and have anxiety about this matter. I just want to move on.

I understand the 5 day cancelation period, but according to the responses that I was receiving from your counsellors that I had talked to regarding the testing fees, that I had finally received 19 weeks later, that I was initially told I would have it in 2-3 weeks from the date I had first called in. I am not happy with this at all because if TCN was really wanting people to succeed with this course they would not take this long to to get checks out to those who have finished. And between this time of requesting the check and receiving the check I have decided to go back to the local community college for my degree and no longer use the TCN site. 
So per my response in the email I sent on October 7, 2014, I would like for TCN to reimburse me for the courses that I have not used, I did go through the entire A&P 1&2 so I do not expect that money to be returned to me. As for the other courses I want a full reimbursement. I want to be able to apply that money to further my education with the local community college.

I informed my "Acadenic Adviser" that my husband is retired military and that we were moving to California. He failed to inform me that California does not accept the classes obtained through The College Network. I will be consulting with our legal adviser on our local military base to obtain legal action if my request is not granted within 30 days. My request is that TCN will void our contract and pay off my loan. It is absolutely unacceptable that it has taken over four months to get my refund check for the test that I took. I look forward to seeing when it will arrive- if it even does!

Everyone that I have talked to that are associated with TCN and Southeast Financial are very inconsiderate and do not take anything into account. I feel that everything that has happened is inappropriate and need to be resolved in some way. I wanted to try to resolve this on my own, however I will now be taking legal action. Never was I notified that my advisor had left, in any way, until I called him to discuss matters and he told me that he was no longer with TCN because he was not lying to his customers anymore. Is the program even accredited? Plus everything seems extremely fishy...knowing what I know now (the loan is a PERSONAL loan and not a student loan, there are multiple companies that the loans go through - for each different student, etc.)Regards,[redacted]

I have filed a complaint with the Revdex.com on 9/22/15 regarding issues with TCN disbursing exam fees in a timely manner. When I signed up for the program in 2010, it was promised that the fees that are factored in the loan contract would be disbursed within 2 weeks of request. Over the last year, it has taken months of excuses and empty promises that the money will be processed and sent. Every one of the responses from TCN are impersonal, "cookie cutter, copy/paste" responses that did not address the issues I have with this company. My student loan with TCN has been paid in full for over a year. Almost 4 months after my first complaint with the Revdex.com, not only have I still not received any exam fee checks, I still have 6 checks pending (the earliest request date 5/06/15). I have been keeping meticulous records of my exchanges with TCN regarding these checks, and the original requested dates are as follows: Reproductive Health 10/7/15 Health Safety 5/6/15 Health Differences 1 10/5/15 Health Differences 2 9/1/15 Health Differences 3 9/23/15 Foundations 6/11/15
I would like ALL monies owed to me processed and sent immediately. I have paid my loan off, I do not want to see in the company response that I have an option of canceling my policy and be forced to forfeit the product and resources that I've rightfully paid for as well as being required to wait ANOTHER 10-15 weeks for the checks above (which was their offer of a solution last time I filed).

In addition, TCN has developed the Academic Guidance Planner and TCNResourceCenter.  Those features were designed to assist TCN customers in reaching their educational goals.  The Academic Guidance Planner offers resources to help TCN customers determine what type of learner they are and the best way for them to study, organize their studies, and have a point of reference for their degree program progression. The TCNResourceCenter is a learning environment that allows TCN customers to access their Comprehensive Learning Module program in an online, interactive format. TCN also offers customers online practice testing and the ability to take examinations in the comfort of your home.

** The following is a copy of TCN’s testing guarantee, which is a part of TCN’s contract that customers receive on the day they sign up for their degree program.
 
“The College Network, Inc. agrees to provide to all customers in good standing the following support for the Comprehensive Learning Modules purchased as long as I have taken at least one of the tests related to the Comprehensive Learning Modules purchased every twelve months from the purchase date forward: Free updated versions of the Comprehensive Learning Modules (shipping and handling may apply) for the duration of my testing program with The College Network, Inc. and assistance in obtaining information and identifying test site locations.
If I have not passed the CLEP, DANTES or Excelsior College* Exam for a particular TCN Comprehensive Learning Module after two attempts, TCN will pay the future cost of re-taking the exam in question, up to the maximum attempts allowed (if any) by CLEP, DANTES, or Excelsior College*. Additionally, TCN will provide me with specific study plans with one of its Academic Advisors and/or the use of an approved tutor in my local area. Approval and assignment of a special tutor is solely at the discretion of The College Network, Inc.”
