Excellent service and response to request for annual inspection/cleaning/filter replacement.

[redacted]. from 5-Star Plumbing and Heating is our favorite Service man and has been extremely helpful with all our questions and servicing for our heating and airconditioning needs!

[redacted]. with Five star plumbing heating cooling did a great job at getting us some heat back in the house. We will continue calling this company if we have any more problems. Thanks again.

I had a pleasant and professional visit with [redacted]. ofFive star plumbing heating and cooling. This has been the case anytime we have dealt with this company for the last several years that we have been a customer.

BUYER BEWARE---I signed onto Choice Home Warranty because I was told service and response time in my area was considered good. I have had a total of (2) calls. The most recent was on Feb 22 for a plumber. I put on the tkt online the bathroom toliet runs constantly and the tub drips. After several days choice gave me a company that was supposed to call me and never did - 3 days later I call them and they said they DID NOT work with Choice. I call Choice back and told them and they said yes they do and 13 calls later (back and forth) The plumber would not return my call and choice let me hang out until I got angry and asked for another company which took an act of congress. well two weeks later I have a plumber out and he was very short with me and said he does not fix leaks unless in the walls. Choice does not cover faucets! -Why didn't they tell that to begin with- my previous warranty company did because it is such an easy fix. I stated "you never looked or took the faucet off to see where leak is coming from" He said "dont have too! I have been a plumber since 1989 or something and I can tell by looking at it. He brought his wife with him.He had to go to [redacted] to get a part for the commode which he knew the problem before he got there. I called Choice and they flat out said NO we don't replace washers in the faucets period. I tried to reason with them since it took them over two weeks and 13 calls later but they refused while the guy was here. Also---I tried to write a review online and there is no where to do that so the only have the good reviews to look at--and showing 6,xxx and some reviews. I told Choice and they said really I didn't know that. Right!....When I went on the Better Business site they had so many complaints there was a name "Tracy" to call be filing a complaint. I have called her twice and no return call...So I would think twice before signing on with CHOICE HOME WARRANTY.

Paul B. was called when we discovered we had an HVAC problem. He arrived promptly and was knowledgable, thorough, and professional. In a short time he had diagnosed and repaired the problem. We could not ask for a better experience.

At this point I am still in the quote stage to replace my current HVAC system. There have been 2 visits. The first was used by Chris, 5 Star rep, to understand my needs. Since I was asking for a replacement of my HVAC system he gathered some information. He looked at how my attic was insulated, my current duct work, access to utilities, and took the necessary measurements to do a cooling load calculation. A week later he came back and we spent 2 hours discussing the options, how the different price point systems operated, and what my net costs would be along with potential savings. I was impressed with his pragmatic approach, his knowledge of heating and air conditioning principles, and his knowledge of the available rebates and tax credits. So far it has been a very positive experience and I would recommend this firm and especially Chris N[redacted].

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  
 
1) My father once looked on one of my toilets. Only one. That does not make him an unlicensed plumber looking in my home. He did look at my garbage disposal once and was able to fix it, but that has nothing to do with this situation. 
2) The saturday morning visit was not an emergency visit. I had two working toilets (to which I have two tenants that can attest to) that only seemed to run a little to long. That is not an emergency. An unworking garbage disposal is not an emergency. The appointment was scheduled on a saturday morning simply because I asked and the appointment scheduler said yes. That is not an emergency. But again, that has nothing to do with this situation. 
3) When [redacted] called me, he gave me a price quote of around 200-300 dollars. When I saw the receipt emailed to me later for 1190 I was shocked. I immediately called him and told him there had been a mistake. He was very rude and defensive. Later I called the office and talked to a man named [redacted]. I told him I had not agreed to those prices and he agreed to send someone over to remove the items and issue me a refund. He delayed me for three days on this and then later said he changed his mind because the items were now "dirty". 
4) The garbage disposal that was placed in my kitchen I was later told (after install and charge) that it was a high-end garbage disposal costing top of the line prices. No one in the company told me of this prior to install. This is a rental property. After speaking to other plumbers I learned that they usually install lower grade garbage disposals unless their customer specifically asks for a  top of the line one. Five star did not ask me at all or give me the correct price quote on this until after the job was done. 
5) When you said that I contacted you and told you I had been overcharged $200 that is a flat out lie. From the first moment I received the receipt I have been calling saying that I was quoted an amount of around 200-300 dollars for the job. That is a $900 difference. Since I talked to other plumbers and received quotes for the exact same job for 500-600 dollars. Given that I am prepared to pay $600 for this job but no more. 
 
I have never in my life dealt with a dirtier , more corrupt company. During my phone conversations with other plumbers, I was even told by them they they had heard of other issues with your company and especially with your plumber [redacted], saying, "I know how he works."
I am rejecting this offer because I feel I have been ripped off and not only that, I have been treated unjustly by your company. I will continue to address this issue.

We took a service call for [redacted] on 10-19-15. Our
customer service representative had a phone conversation with Mrs. [redacted] when
she called us for a plumbing issue.  We record all incoming and outbound phone calls at Five Star.  We reviewed all...

phone calls with this customer.   In the phone conversation Mrs. [redacted] was instructed
that we have a dispatch fee that covers travel time for our service technicians
as well as the time that it takes to diagnose our customer’s issues.  At
no point was Mrs. [redacted] told that that fee would be applied, credited, discounted
or removed from her bill.  Upon confirming the service call Mr. and Mrs.
[redacted] were told that our technician would be available after 12:00 pm on October 20, 2015.  They both said that would be fine as long as our technician was
onsite before 4:00 pm.  Our technician was at their house at 12:03 pm on October 20, 2015.  Mrs. [redacted] did not pay a dispatch fee on this visit.  However she did
pay us a dispatch fee of $59 on June 4, 2012 and a dispatch fee of $59 on July 7, 2014
with no complaints.  This being our 3rd visit to their home
they understood the dispatch fee on two previous occasions.  There is no
collection issue for this complaint.  We have chosen to forgive the $69
obligation she made with us over the phone.  In her complaint Mrs. [redacted]
asked for a refund for a dispatch fee in the amount of $69 which she has not payed to Five Star.  Our CSR’s communicated with Mrs. [redacted] in the
areas in which they specialize which is customer service at its
finest.  Never do they attempt or will we ever train them to attempt to diagnose or price something over the phone.  That portion of a service call is left the the technician who is sent to the home.  Our licensed plumber did everything he possibly could by
providing options to help this customer in every way known.  I am troubled
as to what else could have been done to better serve this customer. Everyone
who communicated with Mrs. [redacted] made every effort to help her.

paul [redacted] provided a high quality service in repairing our toilet and fixing our sink.

[redacted]. did my HVAC tune up that I ordered through [redacted] Local. This was a good bargain and [redacted] was very professional and focused on his job. He was on time and completed the work in a timely fashion. The job was valuable and makes me feel confident that my system will do a good job this winter. [redacted] explained his findings in detail before he left.

James S was polite on time and provided excellent service! I am very pleased with the plumbing work done!!

Technician, [redacted]., arrived promptly at 9a.m. and was very polite and courteous.
He put on shoe covers before entering my house. Inspection of my heat pump was done in a timely manner. [redacted] was also prompt with paperwork that required my signature. I have no complaints at all about this service call.

THE WORST MOST UNPROFESSIONAL PEOPLE I'VE EVER DEALT WITH. IF IVY HELPS YOU, SHES'S VERY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. I ASKED HER IF SHE GAVE ME A MINUTE TO PULL UP THE LAST 8 OF THE VIN ON MY CAR AND SHE RESPONDED "ACTUALLY I DO MIND, I HAVE TO GO TO LUNCH". THEN DON'T ANSWER THE PHONE IF YOU WANT TO RUN TO LUNCH SO BAD. I COMPLAINED ON HER AND SHE IS STILL THERE AND SHE SOUNDS LIKE SHE HATES HER JOB, IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE MISERABLE WORKING SOMEWHERE , FIND A DIFFERENT JOB! THEN GAP USES "NADA" RETAIL VALUE EVEN IF IT'S A PRE -OWNED VEHICLE , THEY OVER VALUE YOUR VEHICLE SO THEY DON'T HAVE TO PAY OUT THE CAR. IF I WOULD HAVE KNOWN THIS I WOULD HAVE NEVER CHOSE THEM . THEN ON TOP OF THAT IVY TOLD ME THE REASON WHY THEY ONLY PAID OUT A MINIMAL PAYMENT AND LEFT ME PAYING THE REMAINDER OF THE CAR LOAN WAS BECAUSE --->MY INSURANCE UNDERVALUED MY CAR. SO THEY PINNED THE BLAME ON MY INSURANCE INSTEAD OF TELLING ME WHAT THE ACTUAL CONTRACT STATES. WE HAD TO SPEAK TO LAURA ( A MANAGER ) WHO THEN EXPLAINED IT CORRECTLY AND HAD NO IDEA IVY EVER TOLD ME THAT. NEVER GO TO THEM EVER YOU PAY ALL THIS MONEY TO HAVE GAP FOR THEM TO BARELY PAY OUT ANYTHING.! THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. NEVER GO TO THEM!

Devin was courteous and knowledgeable. He arrived on time and performed the preventive maintenance as requested. He found an issue with the condensation line under my house and rectified it.

We have been Five Star customers since 1992 and always received excellent service. Today, [redacted] came for at least his tenth consecutive visit and and as usual he was friendly, courteous and professional leaving us with a feeling of confidence in the maintenance of our HVAC system.

[redacted] was extremely professional, friendly and proficient. I would recommend this service to anyone.

Very professional. Outstanding service and review of our systems. Great to find a company we trust.
