Review: I receive multiple phone calls from this company a day. They do not leave a message, but instead continually call me. They increased my monthly payment by $1.33 and did not inform me that they needed to do so. I set up automatic payments for the previously arranged amount, because they did not tell me of the increase. They call constantly, demanding I pay the extra $1.33 a month. I set up my automatic payments to include the increased amount, yet I am still receiving phone calls from them.Desired Settlement: I would like the company to stop calling me multiple times a day. I would like them to only call me once or twice a day, and leave a voicemail. I would also like them to fix the billing issues on their end, so I will not have to deal with them every month.

Review: To Whom It May Concern,

I have come to an agreement with [redacted] (formerly MRU Holdings) and [redacted] with UAS Services to have all negative reportings on my credit report removed. UAS Services is the account provider for their client, [redacted], and I have two private student loans with [redacted].

I consolidated all of my student loans when I graduated, and was unaware that private loans do not get consolidated with the rest of them. I had moved around a lot, and as a result, never received bills from [redacted]. That, and this loan has gone through three businesses to date, as the previous two (MRU Holdings and before that, My Rich Uncle) went bankrupt. As such, bills were not sent out during those times even if I did still live at the address they had on file. I reached out to [redacted] to see what they could do about ridding me of my missed payments in light of this. They understood the dilemma and chose to remove these negative reportings from my credit. This was in early January and it is now almost April. I am trying to buy a house and I am missing out big time because this matter has been promised to be resolved repeatedly, but never fulfilled, and my credit is not high enough because these missed payments have not been removed properly.

I have actively pursued this action to take place, and I have finally come to the conclusion that I need to get someone else involved in order for it to be handled. Thus, I respectfully request your assistance to help me get this closure. The following [redacted]/UAS loans are what I am seeking removal for on ALL THREE CREDIT BUREAU reports (Equifax, Experian, AND Transunion):

Loan [redacted] and Loan [redacted]

Thank you!Desired Settlement: I would like for ALL negative reportings / missed payments for BOTH loans to be removed from ALL THREE CREDIT BUREAU reports (Experian, Equifax, AND Transunion).

University Accounting Service, LLC (UAS) received the complaint of March 31, 2016. Complainant has two accounts serviced by UAS. Account IDs [redacted] and [redacted] are owned by [redacted]. On 1/29/16, complainant contacted UAS to indicate he had entered into a payment arrangement with UAS’ client [redacted] and [redacted] had agreed to remove his negative trade line. The client enters into all payment arrangements themselves; thus this client requires UAS to confirm any payment arrangements with them prior to removal from the credit report. On 2/1/16, the client advised UAS to make the account and Credit Bureau Reporting adjustments. UAS’ credit reporting updates happen monthly on the 1st of the month; thus the updates would not reflect until the 3/1/16 CBR update. On 3/1/2016 and 4/1/2016, UAS reported updated credit history that showed no delinquencies. UAS is not responsible for the timing of updates by individual credit bureaus once we have submitted our files to the national credit bureaus. Additionally, UAS only reports to Equifax and Trans Union on behalf of [redacted]. On 3/24/2016, UAS notified complainant via email that UAS was unable to update credit history further back than the most recent 24 months. At that time, UAS notified complainant to submit a dispute with the credit bureau, which would be answered by [redacted]. If complainant has any further questions, he may contact Supervisor Missie Hall at [redacted].

Re:

University Accounting Services

University Accounting Services has for the past three years given me issues with repayment of my loan. As you know students has a six month grace period before having to repay. This organization however, not only bills while in school, they report late payments to the credit bureaus. I have a family member that is having the same issues. Community College, the originator of the loan, sent out a letter stating that the Government will be taking over their Federal Perkins loans, however, this company continues to bill me and make false reports to my credit.

Also, in consolidating my loan I had to add this loan to my record, because the federal aid system didn't recognize this as a loan that needed to be repaid. I'm wondering if this loan has been consumed by the government and if this company is trying to still collect.

I tried to contact the organization on several occasions to rectify this issue. They keep saying that I'm not listed on the clearing house. In calling back and explaining that my school sent proof of attendance as requested, they hung on me.

This issue has caused serious damage to my credit history and has prevented me from obtaining credit from other agencies.

Regards,

[redacted]Desired Settlement: Correction to credit report and investigation of charges.

University Accounting Service, LLC (UAS) received complainant’s Loan Verification Certificate for consolidation and responded on January 27, 2016 in compliance with the time prescribed to respond. Please be advised that UAS requested enrollment verification from complainant on September 22, 2015, to be able to apply additional student deferment for enrollment since May 2014. However, UAS records reflect that the enrollment verification has not yet been received. If complainant has questions relating to the liquidation of the Perkins Loan Program, she may contact [redacted]

Response:

Review: I began paying on my student loan in July, 2013. That same month, UAS incorrectly billed me almost $600, after the interest that accrued during deferment was already paid in full. They claimed my account was somehow delinquent, even though I had not even begun regular monthly payments. After I demanded they correct their billing, and acknowledge that I was indeed current, with never a late payment made, only then did they reveal to me that a negative credit report was made to all three credit reporting agencies. Ultimately, I discovered every single one of their harmful errors - not a single one was admitted to me as being a result of their wrongdoing. When I asked if they had caught the mistakes themselves eventually, had I not noticed the inconsistencies, the reps never once sounded confident that they would have found their errors and corrected them on their own.

I then had to harass UAS relentlessly to send me hard-copy confirmation and proof that they had retracted their false claims against me. After almost two weeks, I received two signed letters, from UAS and the original loan servicer, New Mexico Student Loans, stating that UAS did send a retraction. They claimed it was sent on August 8, 2013.

I contacted the Federal Student Aid Ombudsman Group in December to further investigate UAS' wrongdoings. A rep of theirs urged me this week to check my credit report, even though I made the mistake of trusting a retraction was sent back in August of 2013. On February 24, 2014, I pulled my credit report. A 120+ day late payment shows under July 2013 on at least one credit reporting agency's findings. This far exceed the maximum amount of time it takes for a credit report to be corrected and cleared of errors, by more than double (the maximum of 90 days, vs the 200 days and counting this continues to tarnish my credit).

The Ombudsman office also discovered, after viewing service notes and my payment history, that my payments were not applied correctly, resulting in a higher payoff balance because of miscalculated interest.Desired Settlement: I demand that a retraction letter is finally sent to all three credit agencies: [redacted], and to myself. I want one year's worth of credit reporting, paid for by University Accounting Service, as a follow-up to prove that a retraction has been sent, received, and unconditionally cleared my name and my credit standing. I also need my payment history to be dissected and a correct payoff amount determined, because of the incorrect way payments have applied. I expect, however, that the FSA Ombudsman office will uncover these problems, and provide instructions on what to do to the new servicer who took over in December, 2013.

Response:

No, University Accounting Services has NOT responded to my complaint, and I have even contacted my school to keep up on the status, since either they themselves, or the new servicer, ECSI, will have to contact the credit bureaus to fix my credit. The school indicates that UAS is not cooperating with them, either.

Review: I have a student loan with DeVry. This bill had gone into collections and was pulled from collections and went to deferment. The deferment ended Aug 2014 at that time I received a bill in the amount of 57.50. The Sept 2014 bill came out before the end of August for an amount of 97.50 showing a past due amount of the 57.50 for Aug which was die Aug 1st and the amount of 40.00 which would have been due Sept 1. On August 23rd 2014 I paid the 97.50 then showing nothing was then due for Sept and Aug had been paid. When the Oct bill came it showed due 40.00 due Oct 1, 2014 with nothing pass due.

This company reported to the credit bureau that I was 30 days late in Sept 2014. This is incorrect since this bill came out of deferment I have never been 30 days late. August 2014 I was 23 days late, Sept 2014 I was 9 days early.

When I contacted the credit bureau to dispute it, because I am trying to purchase a house and need it fixed asap, stated that I could contact the reporting company to have it fixed faster than filing a dispute with them.

When I contacted the company they were not willing to do anything without a dispute from the credit bureau.Desired Settlement: I want them to fix this on my credit asap. I want it to show that as of Aug 2014 to current that I have not been 30 days late.

Review: I was a student at Ferris State University and almost graduated when I was in my clinical internship when I was harrassed out of the program by one of the clinical instructors. Prior to this this intership I told my teacher at the time I didnt want to go that that internship site due to the clinical instructor that would be over seeing the intership. I felt uncomfotable around him I told my teacher but she didnt care and but me at his site. I was forced out of the program by the clinical instructor. And now im suppose to pay 1,000.00. I dont think this is right. I wanted to finish the program and graduate. This is not my fault and I will not pay for something that was wrongfully done to me.Desired Settlement: I would like my account cleared of the 1,000.00. Thank you.

I have not heard from the company. I am not satisfied.

Review: I contacted UAS about a late payment reporting on my account from April of 2013. I initially spoke with [redacted] and I asked for the late payment to be removed but was told that the only way to remove the late payment is to dispute the account. I then spoke with [redacted] who told me the same thing. I found out that disputing the account would prevent me from qualifying for another loan that I am applying for. Not being able to qualify for this loan could cost me several thousand dollars so telling me to dispute the account was bad information.Desired Settlement: I want the late payment to be removed from my account record.

In response to your complaint regarding your Line of Credit account from Lake Trust Credit Union, University Accounting Service, LLC (UAS) reviewed our records of your account status.

Review: Established payment plan in 2011 for the two account with UAS, formerly Mr. [redacted]. Account [redacted] and account [redacted] were both set up with the previous balance and projected payments to establish the two monthly payments of $150 each.

I called in October, December 7,8,9 and again 26 December once I saw the accounts were reflected as 120 days late on my credit score. Every customer service rep spoke to said the payment plan set up did not in fact have the previous balance owed built into the monthly payment plan. I expressed I felt duped and lied to and for almost three years have been mislead.

26 December I spoke with a [redacted] in customer service and expressed my feelings and the issues and was told "tough" and "yeah that's a long time for you to still be thinking you're paying what you need to."

At this time no one has offered a resolution, or has corrected the issue I have been working on to correct for 92 days now. Additionally, my two accounts are still shown as delinquent on my credit score.Desired Settlement: Billing adjustment and proper report sent to the credit bureau reflecting my account good standing and paid up to date immediately.

In response to Complaint ID [redacted], University Accounting Service, LLC (UAS) needs more information in order to generate a complete response.

Review: I've had a student loan through Genesis Lending, and they recently switched or sold out to University Accounting Services in the midst of being sued by the federal government due to the the Corinthian's college scandal. Since University Accounting Service has taken over my loan, my principal balance jumped from $6,619.00 to $7,311.00. My account states that I owe $883.02 this month, and I have a 99.00 past due amount. All of this is not accurate. I have never made a late payment to genesis lending, and I do not understand how a company can take over my loan and think they can charge me $883.00 a month, and then tell me I have a $99.00 past due amount. I printed all of my loan documents from genesis, and my payment history, and it does not add up. I've called 5 times to speak with someone at university accounting services and, no one will answer. This is by far a terrible company.Desired Settlement: They need to correct my account/loan information immediately.

I acknowledge receipt of the July 8,2015 complaint by the referenced consumer. University Accounting Service, LLC (UAS) is currently processing this complaint and will begin our investigation shortly.

Review: I have contacted University Accounting Services several times to get correct billing information. Their website will say one amount, their agents will say another amount, and then my statement will say a different amount. I received correspondence from them on 2/16 which said my account was $5.37 past due. I paid that amount along with the current due amount. This cause their system to update and show I had a $0 balance for all accounts. The next billing cycle when I should have gotten a bill with my current amount due, I received a statement that said I was past due again. For one, how can I be past due when the system just showed I had a $0 balance. While the system said there was a past due balance, the statement said I only owed the current amount due. I inquired again about the discrepancy and UAS did not have an answer as to why their system showed the wrong amount due. Then on March 10, 2016 I was approved for loan deferment due to being in school. I was informed it would take 3 business days for this information to update. Today is March 24 and the deferment has not been applied. Additionally, instead of my current amount being due, UAS now says I am 30 days past due which would be incorrect. They have reported this incorrect information to the credit bureau for my credit report and my cosigners. They have done this a total of 8 times, although I have correspondence that says I should not have been reported as being late to the credit bureau.Desired Settlement: I would like my cosigners and my credit reports updated to reflect paying as agreed for each instance we have been reported as late. Additionally, I would like my account updated to show it is in deferment as approved on March 10.

Response:

University Accounting Service, LLC (UAS) received the above-referenced complaint and understands complainant is confused regarding the status of the account. Complainant states that her billing statements don’t match the online account summary and her account history was reported inaccurately to credit bureaus. UAS’ online payment portal is updated daily for account balances. UAS’ billing statements are printed and mailed, to which, they reflect account balances at the time they are generated. UAS records indicate that on 2/16/16, complainant contacted UAS. At that time, UAS advised her that she had a small past due amount from prior to her most recent payment agreement. UAS records also show that the accounts were reported correctly to credit bureaus as 30-59 days past due on 1/1/2016, since complainant had not made a payment since 11/24/2015. On March 24, UAS received deferment paperwork, and the deferment was applied retroactively to cover the period when the accounts were past due. Please be advised that we have contacted the credit bureaus with which we do business with our request to update our listing of the above-referenced account from complainant’s credit profile. UAS cannot affect a change to how any other company may have listed the above account on complainant’s credit profile.According to UAS records, complainant has 3 accounts billed by UAS and all three accounts now are current and in deferment. Review: I went to Everest college in the year of 2012-2013 for their nursing program. I had loans with Genesis. All of a sudden the University Accounting Service, LLC starts sending me bills saying they are taking over Genesis. Other nursing students in my program doesn't have these loans, and their loans have been forgiven, because of Everest being fraudulent with government money. Unfortunately my loan they trying to continue to make me pay my loans back, and told me I have an agreement with them. I never signed an agreement with them. I signed with Genesis, who was in a lot of trouble do to fraud.Desired Settlement: I feel my loans should be discharged just like everyone else from my class. I am tired of this company giving me the run around, and lying to me. When I have documents proving other wise.

Response:

University Accounting Service, LLC (UAS) received the complaint of April 19, 2016. Complainant has two accounts serviced by UAS. Account IDs [redacted] and [redacted] are owned by Campus Student Funding. UAS does not own the accounts and took over servicing of the loans from the previous servicer, Genesis Lending. Recently, the U.S. Department of Education (ED) contacted borrowers that received Federal Direct loans during attendance at Everest/CCI Colleges. The message from ED encourages borrowers to apply for discharge of a Federal Direct loan because Everest College or WyoTech published misleading job placement statistics. The discharge applies only to Federal Direct loans made during certain periods, for certain programs, at certain campuses. More information can be found at StudentAid.gov/ev-wyfindings. Complainant needs to apply to ED to determine whether there are Federal Direct loans eligible for the discharge. The discharge is not applicable to the private loans that UAS is billing. UAS has no authority to forgive or reduce the loans. Records indicate the information was provided to complainant previously on April 12, 2016 and on April 21, 2016. If further information is needed, please may contact UAS at 844-677-1508. Office hours are 7 am to 5 pm, CDT, Monday through Friday. Sincerely, [redacted] Regulations Specialist

Review: Numerous time I phone University Accounting Service regarding my loan which was with a previous company. They were told on at least 3 or 4 occasions that I am unemployed and I'm aware of the bill I don't mind making payments while I'm a full time student but they need to minimize it to $20 a month. That's what my payments were before they took over the loan. Every time I call I feel like they giving me the run around, spoke with a supervisor numerous time he stated he will take care of it and send me paperworks to sign so that I can make my $20 a month payment. Instead of that they are still charging me late fees (which he claim he was gonna remove). I'm not trying to run away from my bills but they need to understand I'm a full time student and the payments supposed to stop until graduation. From what I have been told by their representative is that they are not that kind of company. So how come they can make their own rules to over charge students? its just unpractical.Desired Settlement: Please again send the paperworks that I can sign for the $20 payment plan

Response:

University Accounting Service, LLC (UAS) received the referenced complaint of March 21, 2016. Complainant has 1 account serviced by UAS. Account ID [redacted] is owned by Campus Student Funding (CSF). Complainant states she has contacted UAS numerous times to request forbearance of the account, with no results. Campus Student Funding requires a forbearance application and a good faith payment before they will consider a forbearance request. UAS records indicate complainant spoke to UAS in September 2015 and requested forbearance. At that time, UAS advised complainant of the payment required and also to download the forbearance application from UAS’ web site. On 12/29/2015, complainant contacted UAS stating that forbearance hadn’t been applied to the account even though a payment had been made. UAS advised complainant that the payment was insufficient per CSF’s requirements. At that time, complainant agreed to pay the requested amount. On 2/11/2016, complainant called UAS and forbearance was granted retroactively for the period 7/4/2015 – 1/4/2016; however, due the forbearance being retroactive, the forbearance period had expired. Complainant’s account fell back into repayment on 1/5/2016. As a courtesy, the client has granted an additional forbearance for 1/4/2016 – 7/4/2016; complainant’s payments have returned to $20.00 per month; and late charges have been removed. Complainant owes for the February 2016 and March 2016 due dates, $40.00 total, with another $20.00 due 4/4/2016. Payments of the amortized amount will resume for the August 4 due date (after the current forbearance period.) Complainant can request an extension of the forbearance if still in school or otherwise can’t make the payments at that time. However, forbearance is a limited benefit. UAS can’t guarantee that another forbearance will be granted.
