UpRight Law, LLC Reviews (907)

I am one of the managing attorneys at UpRight Law.  Immediately upon receiving this complaint, I contacted this former client.  After a few days of phone tag, I'm very happy to report that we were able to quickly resolve this matter.  We believe that great client communication and...

customer service is paramount to the success of any business and we apologize that we weren't able to make this particular client love us the first time around.  The problem in this case lay in a lack of communication and we accept full responsibility for that.  She and I were able to identify the issue without further delay and we wish her the best of luck in all of her future endeavors.

I am a Managing Associate at Upright Law. Upon receiving notification about Ms. [redacted] dissatisfaction with the firm, I reached out to help resolve her concerns. Unfortunately I have not made contact yet. I was unable to reach Ms. [redacted] at the number we have on file, so I sent her the...

following email:Dear Kinshu,I am reaching out regarding your Revdex.com complaint. I am very sorry to hear you were dissatisfied with your experience with Upright Law, and was hoping to address your concerns. I was unable to reach you at the number we have on file, and got the message that it is our of service, so I am sending you this email. Please give me a call at [redacted] at your convenience, so I can address your concerns.Thank you,PriyankaI am sorry to hear Ms. [redacted] was dissatisfied with her experience with Upright Law. We strive to ensure clients understand the process with the firm, as well as how payments will work. We do this during the initial consult when the client first signs up for our services, and consents to a verbal agreement, as well as by outlining it in the written retainer agreement that the client signs, to ensure client is fully aware of and understanding of the payment process, and has an exceptional experience. We are also certain to maintain accurate accounting and refund any fees not earned. We provide this accounting to clients upon request to ensure they have visibility on the time spent on their case file, and fees earned.  I look forward to helping Ms. [redacted] resolve her concerns.

I am the managing attorney at UpRight Law for Enhanced Service.  When I learned of this complaint, I immediately called him to address his concerns. This client spoke with his local attorney one day prior to filing this complaint and only started the process of sending his paperwork in...

yesterday.  The process of filing for bankruptcy is not normally a one or two day undertaking.  Any law firm will need the client to furnish it with certain documentation to prove the factual statements contained in the bankruptcy petition.  The case is further complicated by the fact that the client owns multiple pieces of real estate which need to be addressed in the bankruptcy petition.  All of this is currently under way and we look forward to helping this client trough his difficult situation.  After our conversation and my explanation of these factors to him, he is pleased with UpRight Law's response and remains a happy client moving forward with his case.

I am a managing attorney at UpRight Law.  By the time I was notified of this complaint, this matter had already been resolved. Many things in this complaint are simply not true of this firm or the treatment of this client.  First, we do not require a down payment.  All clients are...

offered the opportunity to make payments over time.  This client also chose to do so.  She elected to make her initial payment of $500 at the time she hired this firm, but she was not required to do so.There are no hidden fees in the contract and less than 1% of the clients who hire this firm are ever charged one dollar more than their contract rates.  The extremely small minority of clients who pay more only do so because they ask the firm to do more for them than their contracts contemplate.  The services in the contract are clearly defined and we have a staff of people available to answer any questions that clients may have 13 hours a day, 5 days a week - significantly more than most law firms. No payments are ever processed after a cancellation request.  We only ask clients to give us enough notice for us to stop their scheduled payments before they run.  This client's second payment was not run even though she gave us less than 24 hours notice that she did not want to continue with the bankruptcy process. And finally, this client's cancellation request and refund was processed and completed on the the same day that it was made.  She got a full refund.I'm happy to discuss this further with her if she has any other issues or concerns.

I am a managing attorney at UpRight Law.  Another managing attorney at UpRight Law spoke to Mr. S[redacted] on 4/4/18 and had a very pleasant conversation, arriving at a mutually agreeable refund amount to resolve the complaint.  It was that managing attorney's understanding that the complaint had been resolved as of 4/4/18.  If there are any other concerns, the S[redacted] have direct contact information for the managing attorney who spoke to them on 4/4/18.  We wish the S[redacted] all the best.

his complaint. The first time that I called the client answered and indicated that he had time to talk about his case. I started to explain that as a law firm we trade on the time we spend preparing, reviewing and filing cases for our clients. Unfortunately, this client hung up prior to engaging in any conversation with me. I called again to try resolve this matter for him, but the call went to voice mail after two rings. I then sent the following email:
Dear Mr. [redacted],
I am the attorney who has been trying to talk with you regarding your Revdex.com complaint. I would very much like to help you find some resolution, but I need you to speak with me if we are to be successful. Please contact me at your convenience at my direct contact information listed below.
Thank you and have a great day!

As of this point, the client has not responded to my email or my voice mail. I would be happy to work with him to find some resolution if he decides that he would like to have a conversation.

I am a managing attorney at UpRight Law.  Upon receiving this complaint, I reviewed the client's case file.  I tried to call her many times to resolve the issue, but the telephone number that she gave to the firm and the telephone number that she gave to the Revdex.com are both not accepting...

calls.  I sent her this follow-up email:Dear Ms. Xxxxx,     I am a managing attorney at UpRight Law.  I have been trying to contact you at the telephone number you gave to our firm and the telephone number that you gave to the Revdex.com when you filed your complaint.  I have not been able to get through as both of those numbers are not accepting calls.     I have been trying to connect with you to resolve your Revdex.com complaint.  Regarding that complaint,. it appears that some miscommunications occurred when you spoke with our intake representative.  For example, you said that you didn't understand why the firm debited your account, but your case file shows that you hired the firm to represent you in a bankruptcy.  Bankruptcy representations come along with a fee for that representation and that's why you were sent a contract for our services.  You also said that you had no contact with our firm after your intake, but your case file shows that you had numerous point of contact with both our attorney and our non-attorney staff.  Latly, in your last call with the firm, you specifically asked that we do not contact you, but you asked for the Revdex.com to have us contact you.  Is it possible you are confusing our firm with one of the other firms that you spoke with?     In any event, please give me a call back to discuss your concerns.  I'll be happy to help you resolve this matter.Kind regards,Xxxx X. Xxxxxxxx

were saddened to learn that this client did not feel as though she was getting the attention and communication that she deserves. To rectify this, I personally called her and we worked out a situation wherein I would work with her to complete her case. She is still a client and is now very satisfied with the service she is receiving.

It does not return my 175.00 dollars. They are just trying to erase my complaints. I did not sign any agreement with them they had no right to take money out of my account. I want my money back and will continue to file complaints until I get my money returned.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2014/04/28) */
Stop emailing us. It was already reversed.

I am a managing attorney at UpRight Law.  Upon first receiving this complaint, I reached out to this former client to discuss her concerns.  Unfortunately, she was unavailable at the time I called.  I sent the following email to her:Dear Ms. Xxxxxxx,     I just left you...

a voicemail and I am writing you now so you have my contact information written down.  I would like to help resolve the Revdex.com complaint that you filed against our firm.   If you would please give me a call back at the contact information below, I would appreciate your time.  Kind regards,Xxxx X. XxxxxxxxI would like to help her resolve her concerns, but I am confused as to what she claims our firm did wrong.  She does not dispute hiring our firm, she does not say that she did not agree to the payment plan, she does not say that we did not do the work that she asked us to do, and she is asking for a larger refund than the sum total of all of her payments.  I will be happy to address all of these issues with her when she has an opportunity to call me back.

Complaint: 11799964
I am rejecting this response because:I love how you said you called several times. one voicemail was  left at 11:31 pm today. Please leave email address I will gladly forward the email to you. The email states that the extra Refund was approved.
Sincerely,
Nadine [redacted]

I am a managing attorney at UpRight Law.  Another managing attorney at UpRight Law had the opportunity to speak with former client, Valerie [redacted], in regards to her complaint and they arrived at a mutually agreeable refund amount.  Ms. [redacted] was provided with the managing...

attorney's direct contact information in case she had any other questions.  We trust that this complaint will be resolved.

This former client's refund was processed less than 10 days following her first contact with UpRight Law and only 4 days after her cancellation request.  UpRight Law, like all people and businesses, is limited in the speed of refunds by the processing time for the banks.  It is not fair or...

true to say that this refund "never happened."  This complaint, however, was lodged only 3 days after the cancellation request.  We apologize for any frustration this former client may have experienced, but there is little that UpRight Law could have done to prevent that frustration.  We wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors and hope that she finds the financial assistance that she contacted us to help her resolve.

you a voicemail and I am writing you now so you have my contact information written down.  I would like to speak with you about the Revdex.com complaint that you filed against our firm.  I read that complaint an reviewed your case file.  If you would please give me a call back, I'm confident that we will be able to find some resolution to your concerns.  Thank you for your time and I look forward to speaking with you soon.Kind regards,Xxxx X. XxxxxxxxI look forward to speaking with her soon as I am sure that we will be able to resolve this matter in short order.

I am the managing attorney at UpRight Law for Enhanced Service.  We have been trying to contact this client since her cancellation request to go over closing out her file.  Unfortunately, she refuses to speak to us and acknowledges as much in her complaint. She submitted her cancellation...

request on 4/4/16.  So far, we have tried to contact her twelve times.  She makes it clear in her complaint that she is not speaking to us because she believes our attempts at contact to be collection attempts.  In reality, we are trying to contact her to close out this file.  Since this is a law firm and she hired us to do legal work, we need to gain informed consent to close the file down and stop that legal work.  Immediately upon receiving her voicemail we stopped her payment plan, so she has not and will not pay UpRight Law for the work we performed at her request.  Her complaint states that she was intoxicated at the time she hired UpRight Law and made her first partial payment, but we had no way of knowing that and we began working on her file based on her expressed wishes.I would be willing to solve this issue for this client if she becomes willing to talk to us.

I am a managing attorney at UpRIght Law.  Upon being notified of this complaint by the Revdex.com, I reached out to this client to talk over his concerns and help him find a resolution.  Unfortunately, he was in an area with poor cell reception ind needs to call me back at a later time.  To...

ensure he can call me directly, I sent the following email:Dear Mr. [redacted]     I just called you on the phone, but, unfortunately, your phone was cutting in and out and we were not able to finish our discussion about the concerns that you voiced to the Revdex.com.  It seemed as though your concerns were founded primarily on the idea that you felt your attorney and our staff was not paying you adequate attention.  I understand your disatisfaction and I would like to address that.  The way a law firm helps you deal with your creditors and stop lawsuits is to file your case.  We needed you to finish paying your fees before your case could be filed.  We were not telling you to pay the rest of your fees because we just wanted more money, but rather, we need you to help us help you by completing your end of the process of filing for bankruptcy relief.  I think there may have been some confusion surrounding this issue.     I would like to help you find some resolution to that.  Please give me a call back at my number listed below when you have an opportunity to speak.  I look forward to talking to you soon.  Thank you and have a great day.     Kind regards,Xxxx X. XxxxxxxxI look forward to speaking with him at his earliest availability and I am quite confident that we will find a resolution to his concerns.

I feel Upright Law is honest, trustworthy, and helpful to my needs. You got me a Lawyer for my needs. When I couldn't get in touch with the lawyer and you help me what I needed to know. I thank you for helping me get through this. I still had issues with the creditors calling and harassing me but you advise me to just ignore it and it did stop. I don't have any negative feeling towards the Upright Law. Thank you for your support.
