Varo is everything it advertises and more LOVE it! And so do my friends

Varo is an account that is very easy to use and manage!

Please don't waste your time with this "bank". I have had nothing but issues since the beginning. First they keep lowering the interest rate on the savings. The app constantly has glitches. Showing double transactions, sending notifications of things that didn't happen. If you go and use it at the gas station first it will show you that you spent $150 then it adjusts 2 min later. Why not wait until it is complete. The overdraft only works when they want it to. Even when you pay it back within a few days. Forget about the benefit of that and early deposit. 90% of the time the early deposit doesn't even come early. So you are left anxiously waiting for it to appear. Even when you know for sure your job sent the money at the same time every time. Then Varo will just tell you the same scripted response over and over. They said I could use Zelle. Zelle keeps saying this isn't a real bank account only a cash card and won't work with it. Just as many other apps you are to link with a bank account. It has been quite the extra stressful experience using this "bank". I decided to just suck it up and open a Wells Fargo account. The only benefits of Varo, overdraft and early deposit, are not consistent. This is a waste of time. They also discourage reviews or comments because they keep getting so many negative reviews. Please save yourself a headache and don't even bother.

Update: Oh I forgot also about the insanity of how CUSTOMER SERVICE would not even respond to a simple question I had a few months ago because I had accidentally emailed them from the wrong email. It wasn't like I was trying to access the account or anything. Just a question. They kept arguing with me until I sent them all of my identification in order to change my email address to get a simple question answered.

In reference to my original part of my review/conplaint it's like they don't even read what I wrote. They keep saying call and we will fix this. I already am done and have tried getting it fixed. They refuse to just admit they need to get their act together and shouldn't have a "bank" if it wasn't ready. They responding like I'm an it.

I received a response to my Google play review. Google won't give me nearly enough space to review. Varo basically responded the same way as I had already said the other day and at that time they said no that's not the reason I was having a problem. Suddenly today that was why I was having a problem. Which also goes against everything they keep trying to say their bank does as opposed to others. They act like I am the only bad review here or anywhere. Just say ok, sorry we couldn't work for you and let it go. They just keep on trying to make it look like all those things aren't wrong.

Not a bad deal. Did get my money hung up once which made me mad but overall they are okay.

This is a wonderful app to manage your income with.

I get maximum use of my money. Minimal fees, low ATM rates. Yeah lone this app.

I WOULD NOT GIVE THIS ANY STARS BUT ITS REQUIRED. ANYWAY THIS IS BY FAR THEE ABSOLUTE WORSE FINANCIAL INSTITUTION I EVER DEALT WITH. CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS. YOU CAN NOT SPEAK WITH THE DISPUTE TEAM IF THEY REALLY EXIST! THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU BEING SCAMMED OUT YOUR FUNDS THEY DO NOT GIVE REFUNDS OR PROVISIONAL CREDIT. THEY DO NOT NEED TO BE IN BUSINESS. I WILL TAKE *** ANYDAY

I started a dispute back in Feb8 about a company going in my account. Contacted Varo and the lady said I could close out my account because of what happen and it would take 14days for the dispute. I did that well they didn't' tell me that the delay would take 3months for them to refund me my money. First of all I receive a letter from Varo stating they were sorry and a provisional credit would be placed back on my account in March & April however my account was closed. I called numerously of times asking them will they put the funds on my new account. I was told yes and then unable to do. I never received any of my money for any of my disputes that was done in Feb they were both put on hold one was for $9.99 & $356.67 now they had me verified my address so, many times and then said they could not validate my address after I was already sent a debit card not once but twice. I reached out so many times that I've given up and now today my new account since I forgot my password and requested it so many times because I got another IPhone has been locked out and sent to the fraud dept saying suspicious behavior and I would need to wait 24hours until I receive an email. Not to mention they ask me to re-verified my address because they are unsure if it correct or not. I said really are you serious now your holding on to the check cause you can't verified my address this is a joke. I ask to speak to a supervisor and the rep told me is there something else I can answer because I don't want to waste your time. I held on for a while and he came back stating he couldn't get a supervisor I told him I was going to report to Revdex.com and on facebook make comment cause this was not fair to do to someone...I just want my money and I'm trying to open another account somewhere else because I can't do this with them this is horrible don't ever open up an account with this company it sad because I've had done business with them for so damn long and to be treated like this is sad..It not worth it

This isn't a bank.They don't care about your finances and they shouldn't be in business! I had been a customer of Varo for about 3-4 months.When everything shut down due to Corvid-19 pandemic,my business suffered a major loss.I was grant a PPP loan from the SBA. It was a substantial amount of money to be used to help make payroll and pay bills in order to keep my business running. The check was direct deposited into my Varo account by the lender,who also provides the POS service for my company and has transferred several payments into the Varo account without incident until the loan was deposited.I made several attempts to get some information from the one of the 6 CSRs I spoke with during the six calls that were made in a 24 r period.I received the same answer each time"our fraud department will call you in the next 4 hours to resolve the issue.I never received the call.I asked to be transferred to the fraud dept. and was told that they do not take phone calls,email only.I received a email telling me that they were closing my account and sending my deposit back to the lender which will probably take forever and I'll be out of business by then.There reasoning was that they do not handle business payments,even though they have accepted many payments from the same company in the past.All around ,they're decision has caused me to have to consider closing shop.One of my guys is going to loose his home evcentually. Bad Business all around My advice is to stay away from these crooks.

Very frustrated! During this pandemic it is more important than ever for people to be able to access their money I am currently not working in receded a pause it from my school I had depended on being able to do a varo to varo transfer to my boyfriend's card. They would not allow the transfer and now his card seems to not be working they told me it would be 2 weeks before I got a new card. In the mean time we go hungry in have no money for rent or other bills I set up a bank account through a credit Union and hopes I would access the money earlier but still was told it would take days or over a week to verify. I have been reading a lot of negative reviews about how this company is handling situations such as this during a global pandemic! So I can access my money and my boyfriend can't access money so we're sitting here with nothing when I asked to speak with somebody in the dispute department I was told I would have to me email them which takes 2 to 5 business days to get a response nobody has of of tinow now when it comes to needing money and putting food in their house and feeding their kids! Locking a person's account over a dispute that was handled is not OK. Even worse as I said they have now it seems locked my boyfriend out of using his card. I would like to have all my money transferred into my credit Union now Not days or a week from now

I’m getting a little Agitated . I have an open dispute . $630 , the merchant refunded the money back but Varos dispute team advised for me to leave the dispute open until they receive the refund . I have an invoice from the merchant that the refund was issued and successful . It has been 10 BUSINESS DAYS . And I still have not received the refund. I try to get in touch with the team that is working on the dispute and nobody will email me back, or give me an update . I try to give them the invoice number and date / information . I get the run around from customer Service and it’s been 2 weeks and nobody from the dispute team has responded to my damn email yet . Any other bank I would have been received my refund . But I can’t even get an update from this bank.

I have been complaining even disputed a transactions I never made on my account. They do not communicate with you at all. I had ove 300taking out of my account without my knowledge. Tried tlkn to reps they are no help keep telling me they are standing firm on they decision. Never asked why am I disputing these transactions or anything they keep coming up wit decisions within 10mins. That means they never took the time out to investigate anything. I have all emails Of the lack of communication. I just want my money back. Better yet do y’all job properly.

Not getting any reply from you guys about my dispute and it’s been over 13 days now! I was told that I would get a provisional fund and have received nothing

I would not give a star if it was an option. I have filed one claim with them almost a mk th ago and have yet to receive a response. Every time I call in I'm told it's still in progress and should hear by the end of the day. At this point they should give me a provisional credit and continue the investigation if they need to but that has yet to happen either. I will be taking business elsewhere once my claim is closed.

At this point I think VARO BANK SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN MY BANK ACCOUNT WAS SUSPENDED FOR NOTHING I WORK HARD FOR MY MONEY EVERYDAY AND THEY TELLING ME BASICALLY I GOTTA WAIT TO USE SOME ST I WORK FOR I ADVICE KNOW ONE TO GET WITH THIS BANK THEY ARE FRAUDERS

Need credit issued provisionally on dispute. Cannot wait until 3-26. Received email yesterday about the status of my dispute and money stolen from me, they will issue a provisional credit but not until 3-26. I cannot wait another two days. I have prescriptions and things I need asap.

I recently filed dispute through this company because they allow another company to charge 1080 out of account without my permission. They claim that is wasn't any issues that the chargewas authorized but it wasn't. I knew who the company was but I never talked to the company or discuss with them about the payment. Varo Money allowed *** take my money. Varo Money doesn't won't to give me my money back. They claim to protect there customers privacy and account but thats just a lie to keep you using there service.

Continually I have had an issue with getting the funds from my paychecks. My employer does not offer direct deposit and I go through the typical process for depositing a check. Half the time I get the funds that same day. The other half the time I have to wait until the following business day to get the first $200 of my paycheck, which means I wait until Monday because my payday is on a Friday. I have continually requested that this process be made better for those of us that have employers that don't offer direct deposit. This last payday was the worst because instead of making me wait until Monday for the first $200, I now have to wait until Tuesday.

On February 21st I had my entire wallet stolen. Including my Varo card. I shut my card down as soon as I realized what was happening, they took over $300. I called customer service and spoke to a very help gentleman who assured me Varo would set up a dispute and the funds would therefore be returned to me. They said once the charges are no longer pending to call back, file my dispute and I’d receive an answer within a certain amount of time. Not only have I had issues receiving a card, they withheld my money from payroll until having to beg them a numerous amount of times to allow a emergency money transfer that they finally agreed to. So I have been having multiple issues with Varo which is new to my personal experience, but very alarming since their customer service is putting me in delayed and unsound situations.

this is legit bank you can even set them up as an external account for transfering money from another account and no extra charges.
