We sent the customer the following email todayMrNitko, normal;">I reviewed your recent inquiry Your account was on a variable rate offer and the rate increased due to significant increases in energy supply costs, not all of which were passed on to Verde customers Even though your account left service with Verde at the end of the billing cycle on 6/2/14, we will issue you a billing adjustment check for $which lowers the effective rate on your May and June bills to $0.1129/KWH You should receive this check in approximately weeks Regards, [redacted] Verde Energy USA

We sent the customer the following email todayMr [redacted] ,I received a copy of your inquiry.While reviewing your account I saw that you spoke with our customer service group yesterday and wanted to switch to a fixed rate of $0.1149/KWH for 100% renewable energy For reference you were on a variable rate since 1/8/and that rate dropped in and then did not change for over years.Let me know if you still want to switch to the fixed rate or leave service with Verde and return to [redacted] ( whose estimated rate is slightly higher than our current rate).Regards, [redacted]

We sent the customer the following email today: Hi Robin, I reviewed your inquiry and your recent calls to our customer service group I apologize for our staff not being able to respond to you in a timely manner /> Our records indicate that we processed a drop request for your account on 2/15/but we do not show the any record of the 1/23/drop that you noted in your inquiry Your account left service with Verde as of your last bill on 3/24/ I will take your word for it that you tried to cancel on 1/23/which meant that your last bill would have been your 2/24/ bill I looked at the usage for both your February (5,KWH at $0.1499/KWH) and March (4,KWH at $0.1599/KWH) bills and we will send you a billing adjustment check for $which brings the effective rate for both of those bills down to our lowest PECO rate of $0.0999/KWH You should receive your check in approximately weeks Again, I apologize for the slow response to this issue Regards, Tony Menchaca

Complaint: 10462339I am rejecting this response because: I received nothing ON PAPER stating the rate that I would be paying and nothing was stated verbally when signing up All I heard that they were going to "save me money" This is what I believe to be a predatory tactic I spoke to the rep and gave her screenshots of my billing statements I was told about the rate at the time of my complaint This is why I believe that there should be no further billing I would be willing to return the $rebate as long as I am excused from everything else.Sincerely, [redacted]

I have looked up your account and see that your fixed rate was for 6 months, as stated on your terms of service, your fixed rate will switch to the variable rate once the fixed rate term expires. After receiving the fixed rate for 7 months (one extra month) your fixed rate expired on 8/25/14. At this time, Verde is not required to contact MA customers when their rate is about to expire. I have processed a $80.52 refund for the difference in rate to our new .1299/kwh fixed rate on your last bill. You should get that check within 15 business days. I see that your account with Verde Energy was cancelled and your last day with us was 12/29/14. If you have any additional questions/concerns, please don't hesitate to reply to this email.
