Ordered a Samsung TV on line, they then sent an email to call and verify the order, when I called they said I had ordered a commercial version(never stated in there website) and that another dollars would be required for a residential versionI cancelled the order right there on the phoneAbsolutely awful way to conduct businessI would advise all to shop any where else but Abes of Maine
I had purchased TV's from them prior to the change of ownership in July w/o a problem , it appears the ownership led to a change in honesty and customer service

Standard Bait and Switch!!! Ordered an LG 65uffor $1615, then told that I am purchasing a commercial model and that I would need to spend $additional to get the residential model I told them that nowhere on their site is this stated I asked to speak with a manager who told me yep, it is what it is, the unit we are selling doesn’t have any info that it’s a commercial model but that is what we are selling for the lower price, if you want a residential model we have them for $more It’s a joke that this place has been a good place to do business since but that ship has sailed and now they are just another New York/Jersey bait and switch internet discount electronics site Don’t buy anything! Below is the link; but I’m sure they will update if they see this

Abe's of Maine is a dishonest company using bait and switch practices and lying its customersI was tricked to pay higher prices for identical equipment advertised at lower price on their siteI've placed a large order in the amount of $for various canon photo equipment including expensive Canon L series lenses, camera, flashes and a convertorMy phone call inquiry was answered by "Ted" and he was the person I dealt with throughout the whole processBefore placing the order I asked him couple of times if all the equipment and especially the L lenses listed on their web site are made in Japan and he said "no, it's made in Asia, in Taiwan" and immediately offered me to buy more expensive versions made in Japan with US warranty that he said are not listed on the website since they are not allowedI didn't need US warranty, (the equipment was going to Europe) but it was important that everything was made in Japan, and believing him after he repeatedly said the cheaper ones

I purchased a Microwave GE Profile Advantium #*** Order *** from Abe's of Maine on 1/12/along with a year extended warranty and was told at that time by the salesman that sold me the microwave and warranty that it was full coverage till the warranty expired in 1/12/ I contacted the warranty company and was told they would not repair or replace the oven and to contact the place of purchaseSo I did and they told me it was too long ago that I purchased and there was nothing they would doI told them I was going to contact Revdex.com and his comment was all this for $772.72, GOOD LUCK

I purchased a camera online, Sony Alpha abody only, SKU #: SNA| Manufacturer Part #: ILCE6500/BI received an email that I needed to call the store about my orderBecause I was on vacation, I didn't callThe next day, I received a call from themThey said they had to "confirm that I ordered the item." I said yes, I didI was then offered the opportunity to purchase a battery for the cameraI was given two options a basic battery for about $120, and a high capacity battery for $Both would include a chargerI replied I didn't realize the camera didn't have a battery, but I reluctantly accepted the higher priced battery, bringing my cost from $to $The camera arrived today, in a retail boxIt had a battery, no charger, just a charging cablethe battery doesn't appear to be any different than a standard battery that sells elsewhere for $The sku and manufacturer part number are standard across many stores--all of the ones I checked have batteries included

Same old story as a hundred other reviewersMade a purchase online, then received an email from them to call so they could "confirm" my purchase? What? Why? So of course when I call they try to upsell me, and when I said no they tell me that the product is back-ordered 3-weeks, "hopefully"Even though when I purchased it and even after looking at their website again it shows up as "in stock" on their websiteSerious red flags! I called them back and told them to cancel the order once I read other online reviews and saw that they do this as a regular business practiceAbsolutely unethical and disgusting business practicesSTAY AWAY

Blatant bait and switch, I placed an order for a 65" LGOLED TV which was going for 2199.99, only to get an email to call Jeff to finalize the orderHe tried to up sell me by telling me I had ordered the wrong power system and that my TV would only work in Europe with VHe offered to give me additional discount from a price of 2,using coupons and previous sale prices which were still a few hundred dollars more than the advertised price for this TVI had read some of the reviews online and thought I should give them a chance, my big mistakeStay away and stick with solid, established stores and save yourself the grief

I purchased a camera last year from Abes of Maine, *** *** Orde* *** for including shippingI was told there was an issue with my payment and when I called, the sales person Adi R*** told me that he needed to confirm the payment, and that I was purchasing an import version and for $more, he could upgrade it to the US version so that I would have *** supportI attempted to resale the camera and checked on this, and not only did *** confirm that it was not a US version of the camera, but the serial number starts with a "JP" and does not say USA, although I was originally told that this is because the camera was made in Japan, when the label clearly says made in TaiwanThe problem this causes is that it cannot be serviced if there is an issue and I also paid an extra $based on information I was given by the company which is an extremely unfair bait and switch tactic

I ordered an LG inch OLED TV on 1/21/Website stated no tax and free shipping, and the price was about $
Received an email telling me I had to contact "Jeff" at the company to confirm my orderAt that time he told me "because of the size of the TV we need to add insurance for (approximately) 23.89, so I said OKHe did not say $2389, but I found out that was the total charged to my card
I tried to call to cancel, but was rudely told "too bad, already shipped; you still got it cheaper than *** ***
I stipulated on ordering that delivery would have to be Wednesday or Saturday, since they will not leave it without someone home
Started getting calls from delivery service saying delivery will be on Thursday, during the dayTold them that wouldn't be possible, as I work full time, and asked for WednesdayNext week I get a call saying delivery is TuesdayThis happened week after week till I finally got madThey promised delivery last Wednesday but never showedI final

I went on Amazon to buy a Canon 7D Mark camera and somehow got directed to this rip-off placeTheir price was too good to be trueBait and switchWouldn't ship till I contacted them and they strong-arm another $onto the purchaseI realize I am dealing with lowlifes and tell them to forget it, I will buy one here in Dallas, and they say they will charge my credit card 10% for cancelingI immediately called AMERICAN EXPRESSStay away from this place

I ordered a 77" OLED LG TV from this company for a price of $Then I got a call a them with an " up charge " of $for trucking and insurance
I paid for the extra charges because I felt it was still a fair price for the TV, but after thinking about it for 4-hours I decided to cancel the order because I
felt this was an internet scam to cheat money out of trusting people like meWhen I tried to contact the company by phone after calling 20-times and
not having anyone answer it would go to voice mailI know this company is using predatory business practices to get money from innocent peopleWhen
I finally got through to Steve who works for the company he refused to cancel the order I told him about the numerous calls I had made and was put on hold then hung up on I feel this company has very bad customer service and is rude and difficult to deal with Cancelling an order in less than a short time is not an unreasonable request I have gone to great lengths to h

They advertised Canon 80D at the lowest rate available online and when I ordered the camera, I received an email from them to call inAfter calling in they miraculously revealed the fact that what I had ordered is an international version without US warranty (there is no mention of this anywhere on the website listing) and that the actual US version of the camera is available at the market rateDishonest way of running a businessClassic bait and switch scamAvoid at all cost

I placed an order online on 7/16/for an LG TV through the Abes of Main websiteOrder *** *or $2,for a TV with no shipping/handling chargesJeff *** contacted me and said that the TV was oversoldThey were shipping me a different model instead, for $But the second email said that there is $handling & insurance charge(This was a new charge-the online didn't have this charge)The original order email said that my credit card would not be charged until the item shipped, but the charge immediately went through to my credit card as "Pending"I do not want this TV model so called immediately last night to cancel but they didn't answer, so this morning I called repeatedly attempting to cancelI talked to Mr*** and he said that the TV was scheduled for drop shipment to *** this evening and he is unwilling and unable to cancelHe did not have a *** tracking number & could not prove that the item had already been shippedHe was simply unwil

Abes of Maine advertises a price on a Canon model EOS 6D Mk II of $1,This is not a US model, does not include standard factory accessories such as battery, charger and strap which is not mentioned anywhere in their addAbe's calls back and tells you if you want these items you have to pay $1,for a retail versionWhich when received is still not a US model and cannot be registered with Canon as a US model, but they don't tell you that and now you are paying full priceadvertising, misleading, bait and shift tactics all the way Company is not to be trusted, where they get these products is any one's guess and they most certainly don't have the best prices or any service at all for that matter

The next day she received a call, first asking her to purchase extended warranty plans, and when she declined, telling her that she would have to pay $for the shippingShe questioned this and was then told that it's to cover the insurance on the shipmentShe texted me what was going on and I told her not to pay them anything m

Revdex.com:
While speaking with a sales associate we agreed to refuse shipment under the terms that I would not responsible for any restocking fee / charges due to the misrepresentation of the original item ordered So while I accept the company's resolution, I resent the statement of this being an action of "good faith" by the company, rather this should be chalked up as owning up to their "mistake" So while my own issue has been satisfactorily resolved, I do worry that future customers will be caught up in this company's shady business practices including bait-and-switch techniques and high-pressure upsell attempts Thank you for your assistance in this matter

I bought from Abe’s because I had dealt with them satisfactorily long ago - regret itSame thing happened to meOrdered a camera and they called and said I order European model (no mention on the ad)I could get the US model for moreScamThen, when they re-did the order, they left out the suite number for deliveryThis is when I found out their customer service is as bad as their ordersEven though I was calling in the middle of the day (NJ time) they would not answerFinally I called sales -of course they answered immediatelyAfter three forwards, they hung upLuckily FedEx is on the ball and called about the suiteCamera came packed horribly but I know I'll never get any satisfaction from Abe’sI'll have to hope it worksI wish I would have ordered from someone reputable

Ongoing bait-n-switch scamAdvertised lower price online for a HD TV Nov Got an email saying I needed to confirm orderCalled the number and then spoke with Jeff SImmediately he went into a high pressure pitch that my item, because of the size and value, needed shipping insurance at an additional cost of $I informed him that this policy wasn't stated anywhere on the website or at time of checkoutHe quickly pivoted to offering free "white glove service"After getting off the phone and searching the Internet, I found that this is common practice with this groupThey also aren't a authorized Sony retailer (which means no manufacturer's warranty is provided for a TV valued at over $2,No where on their site is it mentioned thy are a Grey Market dealer in products
After contacting them again later in the day to cancel my order by phone and email I was unable to get a responseI informed seller by email at this time that I was canceling my purchase and have since c
