Abe's of Maine is without any doubt whatsoever a bait and switch, using fraudulent and dishonest sales tacticsThey advertise on their website an LG 86SJTV as a USA model with USA warranty at lowest price availableAfter placing an order, they email to indicate I must call to validate the orderCalling results in reaching the same person (calls himself Jeff in an email and Steve on the phone) regardless of what option you select on the phoneHe then indicates that I have ordered a foreign version of the TV (240V vs 120V), but that he can get me a US version (for only $more)I explain that I can purchase the exact same TV from Costco for $less than he is offering and he simply curses CostcoHe then "ups the ante" by offering white glove delivery and a wall mount which he insists is worth far more than the $less Costco offer
Anyway, long story short, I express interest in the 240V TV at advertised price, but would like a picture of the model number and voltage sticker from the back of the TV firstJeff/Steve then begins cursing up a storm and says that he is cancelling my order since I don't really want to buy one(Note: I was trying to buy five.) Call is disconnected and I call back to ensure order is indeed cancelled, choosing customer service option this timeJeff/Steve answers again, begins cursing immediately and threatens to either go ahead and place the order or charge my card a cancellation fee if I don't stop harassing him
I immediately call Citi Cards fraud department and am relieved that those threats were a smokescreenMastercard is now aware and said Abe's of Maine would be held fully responsible in anything was charged
They (loosely used term since it appears to be only one person) are liars and cheatsAvoid at all cost

Ordered a Canon camera body from this company They called and tried to tell me I ordered the Japanese version and if I wanted the American version it was $more The guy kept saying he had to talk to his manager and came back with a couple bucks off I told him I wanted to cancel the order because it said nowhere on the website that it was a Japanese version He then told me he would charge a 20% restocking fee and telling me that I was an it
This company needs to be shut down A total scam of a company Bait and switch I would give them the worst negative rating possible Had to give one star just to file a complaint and review but they aren't even worth that

On May 21, 2107, I had purchased a Nikon Ddslr camera from an online merchantMerchant is Abe's of Maine(abesofmaine.com)I enjoyed this camera until it started acting up(error messages,blurry photos) on November 12, So I had dropped off my Nikon Dat an official Nikon Repair center in Melville,NYTo my surprise, Nikon sent the Nikon Dback with a notice via email that the camera was a counterfeit unitbiggest tell was the serial numberThe serial did not match any serial number in the Nikon data base and the serial number did not match the CPUI sent the camera back to Abe's of Maine after a heated discussion about them selling me a counterfeit cameraAbe's of Maine claimed that Nikon was lying and would do anything to get out of fixing their productI've since shipped the camera back to Abe's of Maine, and of course their findings prove the camera isn't a fake, rather a gray market itemNikon regards gray market cameras to be non-USA cameras, still a Nikon pr

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID *** and while they did honor the price listed on their website, my research after the fact shows that this is a common business practice with this companyI consider this issue closed, but only after their standard operating procedure bait-and-switch necessitated this complaint Treat your customers with respect and stop this nonsense!

I ordered a USA model new camera but was delivered a grey market camera with no manufacture warranty and was not a USA modelThere were parts missing that would have been included if I had received a new USA model *** cameraI should not have to lose money on a bait and switch, borderline fraudulent purchaseI want a full refund

Absolutely stay away from Abe's of Maine!
This company is notorious for doing what's called "The Bait & Switch" which involves showing an item, in this case I was interested in the LG 55C6P OLED TV, they had it at a really good price
So I placed an order, I only found this site because of a coworker told me about itI suddenly got a suspicion (unfortunately after) and I did a quick google search on the companyThey are awful, and how they can do this legally is beyond me
Unfortunately I did this on the weekend so I had to wait two days before I could call them up and cancelI was also waiting for that email everyone gets that says they need to call
Well, Monday morning I get that famous email saying I need to call about this order and ask for this guy name Ted
I knew instantly they were doing to tell me that they wanted to confirm my order for the European version of this TV
Of course there is absolutely NOTHING on their website that leads anyone to believe that they are ordering anything outside the United States, and that if you want the US version of this TV or this camera then it'll cost you moreIf you choose not to cancel, and not to pay more then your order will go into the abyss and you'll never see it again because it'll be delayed, or it's on back order
So I called them up, the girl was of course hesitant to cancel and said she doesn't know anything about these complaints or the bait & switch I told them what would happen
Don't buy from these people!

I purchased a Tamron 150-600mm lense from Abe's of Maine (Westpark Electronics)I researched this lens thoroughly and read through all their terms of service, product specifications, and Q&A, no where on their website nor the product page does it explain that the manufacturer's warranty is Void because they are not an authorized dealer When contacting the Manufacturer they claim the product is a 'grey market' product I called Abe's of Maine and explained my dilemma of this lens malfunctioning after only months and they said someone called me to tell me this product wasn't under warranty by the manufacturer before they shipped it No one called me to inform me of this or I wouldn't have purchased the lens Now I have a $lens that has no warranty and doesn't work They have advertising on their page showing you can purchase an extended warranty after the manufacturer's warranty ends, of which there is none

We received microwaves that were delivered through Abe's of MaineConcealed damage was discovered on two of the microwaves after receiving the deliveryWe contacted Abe's of Maine and sent pictures of the concealed damage to get reimbursement or replacement but they have been more or less unresponsive
