This company is a ripoffThey deliver items, but will get a salesman to email you so you have to call them to get your order finalizedThen they say they will sell you additional items for hundreds of dollars less and charge way, way over market price of those itemsWhen you want to return NO ONE returns phone calls, no one returns emails, nothingThey are in all likelihood waiting me out until their day policy and then someone will get back to me and say too bad, sucker
These people are dishonest, and catch youI should have done my due diligence and understand the few hundred bucks savings was too good to be true Don't ever do business with these people

I ordered a camera online and received an email asking me to contact Abe's to confirm my orderAfter countless phone calls, I was finally able to contact a personNo one answers their customer service numberI was told that the product I ordered, was no longer available anywhere and they suggested that I upgrade to a more expensive product which I didI then searched ***, and found the product that was "unavailable", and the upgraded product at a significantly lower priceI contacted Abe's again, and was told that *** had inferior products with no warrantyI plan to return the product when it arrives, and dispute the charge on my credit cardI looked on a Consumer Affairs site and found similar complaints as mineApparently they Practice a 'Bait and Switch" scam on a regular basisThe representative I spoke with is Jeff S***

The customer service in this place is a jokeFirst off, it’s the only place that advertises a body only camera and then calls and says it doesn’t come with a batteryNOT STATED ANYWHERE IN THE DESCRIPTION! So I take the bait and “upgrade “ to the “retail kit”I needed the camera for a weekend shoot so I ordered it 2nd day, the shipped FedEx groundcalled them the next day and informed them of their error, first they offered to take $off as a courtesy, I wasn’t interested I needed the camera for a photo shoot in a couple of daysThey stated they would resend the order overnight, I received the order shipped confirmation, it was shipped UPS groundThe “supervisor” named Steve is totally incompetent and shouldn’t be supervising a flea circusStay away from this joke of a company

I purchased a Tamron lens for photography, on December 19, from Abe's of Maine in the amount of $I recently have had problems with the lens, and contacted Tamron, for repair When I called them they told me that the serial number you provided, was not validThey told me they only work on lenses that are from the United StatesI have a proof of purchase, that has no indication that this was not a valid lens
I contacted Abe's of Maine, spoke to a representative (Lisa) who told me she would contact the warehouse, to see where the lens came fromShe told me she would get back to me by the end of the day, needless to say no return call
I tried to contact customer service numerous times, and it appears that they have incoming calls shut off
I called this morning asked for the sales department and they answered, asked to speak to a manager only to be given to Lisa who did not answer

Terrible experience with Abes of MainePlease do NOT do business with themI, as well as many who have commented here, have been caught up in a terrible bait and switch scamI ordered a Nikon Damd received the automatic email to please call Jeff at extension 272, which, not surprisingly is no longer a valid extensionI was promised all kinds of things by Jeff, and he told me that my camera would not come with a battery or chargerSo he said he'd make me a great deal where I would receive a bag, an upgraded UV filter (I purchased the $one) and the Nikon Battery and chargerMy bill ended up almost $moreI asked him how much would it be to just purchase the battery and chargerHe told me it was around $so I stupidly said "OK"After doing research, I realized that the battery and charger was WAY less than that!! I received my packageI did not receive a bag, I did not receive the upgraded filter...even though I received an email with the $filter listed as in my order, and I attempted to contact ANYONE at ABESI sat on hold for minutesThen I called sales and got right through...but was put on hold againI kept trying for about an hour, and finally got ahold of LisaShe told me that I could return everything, but pay a 15% restocking fee for everythingNow...from any product page you can click on the link with the "Abes Return Policy"That page states that returns will be charged 15% of the original shipping feeButIf you go to their OTHER Return Policy Page...hard to findthey do indeed state that you're on the hook for 15% for anything being returnedLisa promised to refund $100, and send me their 3-piece, $77mm filter kit along with a Bower camera bagI agreedWellyet another bait and switchThe bag, listed for $on their site is available online for $- $And, they did NOT send their $filter kit, but some cheapo "Ultimax" filter set that sells for around $I am writing this while on hold once again for the past minutesI'm sure my phone number is blackballed over there and I get put into the "eternal" hold loop whenever I try calling themPLEASE, DO NOT SPEND A DIME AT ABES OF MAINE! TOTAL RIP OFF ARTISTS

Absolutely stay away from Abe's of Maine!
This company is notorious for doing what's called "The Bait & Switch" which involves showing an item, in this case I was interested in the LG 55C6P OLED TV, they had it at a really good price
So I placed an order, I only found this site because of a coworker told me about itI suddenly got a suspicion (unfortunately after) and I did a quick google search on the companyThey are awful, and how they can do this legally is beyond me
Unfortunately I did this on the weekend so I had to wait two days before I could call them up and cancelI was also waiting for that email everyone gets that says they need to call
Well, Monday morning I get that famous email saying I need to call about this order and ask for this guy name Ted
I knew instantly they were doing to tell me that they wanted to confirm my order for the European version of this TV
Of course there is absolutely NOTHING on their website that leads anyone to believe that they are ordering anything outside the United States, and that if you want the US version of this TV or this camera then it'll cost you moreIf you choose not to cancel, and not to pay more then your order will go into the abyss and you'll never see it again because it'll be delayed, or it's on back order
So I called them up, the girl was of course hesitant to cancel and said she doesn't know anything about these complaints or the bait & switch I told them what would happen
Don't buy from these people!

I am rejecting this response because:This is a complete falsehoodThe order was accepted using my *** *** cardI have repeatedly contacted the business and at no point did they point anything regarding "wire transfer"*** the salesman never said anything about wire paymentInstead as I stated earlier he tried to tell me that the panel for the order I had placed was "commercial" and I needed to order a residential oneThese are complete lies and all the more reason to take action in order to prevent fraudulent businesses like this to engage in scams like theseAfter I received the phone call I got suspicious and that is the reason why I repeatedly contacted the business through email clearly stating that my order was straightforward and it simply needed to fulfilled as I was concerned there would be no record of a voice conversation and I am vulnerable to falsehoods like these as it would become my word against theirs.

I ordered a camera from Abe's of Main, only to have salesman call and inform me the item I ordered is the non US version and the US version cost moreI asked what version was listed on their site, he said the non-US, I asked how would know the difference by looking at the site, he said I wouldn't be able to tellI said why doesn't the site indicate if US or other, he began to get upset an respectfulness at that point

I purchased a nikon d camera that was $on line when the bill came it read $when I call to complain they told me I had to pay extra for the battery and the charger when clearly nikon camera come with a battery and a charger after phone calls and email I still cant get a return number when clearly the policy state return within days
they just keep offering me a hundred dollar credit and now a two hundred dollar credit please help I just want to return item for a refund
