Revdex.com:
I have been contacted by ebth one time and they are dragging there feet and the only reason they have responded is because I filed complaint with you. Good cus[redacted]er service is not something they strive for so getting things resolved with them on my own is unlikely they ignored the last claim I had and I spend thousands with them
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Thank you for the opportunity to further respond to these concerns. When items are only available for shipping, as long as a customer has a valid card on file and a default address, it is standard EBTH procedure to automatically charge and book those items for shipping within 48 hours of the sale close so that the customer can get their items as quickly as possible. That is what happened with Ms. [redacted]’s invoice. The shipping quote generated from the EBTH for zip code [redacted] on 7/28 was $27.96. When the quote for [redacted] was generated on 8/3, the item was already in transit to Ms. [redacted]’s address in Maryland. The quote for $55.92 that was generated at that time included the transportation fee that was charged to Ms. [redacted] by [redacted] when the address was changed. This quote was not used to price shipping, as the item had already been sent out. Thank you for your consideration,EBTH

We are sorry that the item has not arrived in your anticipated time frame.  When a large item is shipped over the road, it can take from 8-10 weeks which is our standard delivery timeframe.  We have refunded your shipping due to your concern however.  Thanks for bidding with EBTH!The...

[redacted],Sorry about the confusion, but our shipping process can take several days before a tracking number is available.  Our team has to remove the item from the home and take it to a shipping facility on your behalf.  The shipping vendor then packs and ships the item.  That is why...

we state up to ten days for delivery.Your tracking number is Tracking: [redacted] and is with [redacted].  You can link directly through viewing your invoice within your EBTH account.  Thanks for bidding with EBTH!  The EBTH Team

Hello,We have reviewed the notes on invoice [redacted] about the return request for the chairs.  The customer stated the chair is not entirely leather with the underside of the arms, back of the seat and underside being vinyl.  We listed the chair as having a leather back, seat and...

arms.  Customer was shown the label on the chairs at the pickup and decided to remove the items from the home as a courtesy to the customer.  The Denver and Customer Service staff informed him we will not be able to accept a return on this item as it was described properly.

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]1.  I did not purchase gold herringbone link necklace referenced to by EBTH.  I purchased a gold herringbone link bracelet.2.  EBTH does not provide shipping quotes after the initial bid is placed.   EBTh's "[redacted] Bracelet Shipping.jpg" file provided by EBTH in their response supports my claim the shipping quote given to me was $9.83.  Also note the shipping quote remained the same for all 4 zip codes included in this report which includes McDermott, Oh and Largo, Florida.3.  [redacted] calculations for 2 boxes 5"X 4 3/4"X 2 3/4" isare $18.16.  [redacted] provides $100 insurance per box at no additional charge.  Charging $17.76 for "custom packing"  is a scam.  The "custom packing" I received was nothing more than 2 cardboard boxes containing my items and styrafoam peanuts.  In the last so small purchases of jewlery from EBTH I have never encurred this "add on" up charge.  Also, why wasn't I permitted to pick up these items?4.  EBTH states "at no point during the bidding was a shipping quote for Mr [redacted]s zip code generated for the ear rings.  Not true, EBTH requires a bid quote before allowing bidding.  Not true that EBTH states the final quote will be based on the final bid amount.  I have ae-mail from EBTH that contains a "Screen Print" of bid quotes from July 929th showing the shipping quotes of $21.21 had already been determined.  Of particular interest is 7 different zip codes are listed, all with the same shipping charge.  I will send this to you at the e-mail address contained in this message.  You will note, this $21.21 charge was initiated on July 29th BEFORE THE AUCTION ENDED.Regards,

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. This is what they told me on the phone and I was not happy then and I'm still not happy. This company clearly does not care if they make customers happy. I feel there pre-packaging plan is not helpful at all times and should be reviewed on a case by case basis. I really was not worried about when I received the items and as the customer should of had the option to choose when I got them and where they were sent. Will never recommend this company for anything.

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to these concerns. The invoice in question, [redacted], was purchased by [redacted]. Ms. [redacted] purchased two unframed prints for $162. She was charged $134.67 for shipping and $11.72 for tax. She reached out to our customer service department...

on 3/18 requesting a lower shipping quote on invoice [redacted]. Our customer service representative had the shipping department look into the price and was unable to lower it, which she let her know on 3/20.Upon receipt of this claim, we looked deeper into the items on this invoice. For both items, there was a coding error when the items were put in for shipping, which we weren’t able to see in the first look at the invoice. When the error was corrected, shipping was lowered to $25.31.Ms. [redacted] has been refunded $109.36, which is the difference in shipping. Thank you for your consideration,EBTH

[redacted] ---Thank you.We forwarded response in the format received.Included few details, just simply main points as previously documented. In sum, we never did receive even the courtesy of a reply from EBTH,Nor explanation as to the phone call received 2/17/2017, 8:29 pm. No message.

[redacted],We are more than happy to resolve the issue for you.  We would just like to resolve the shipping with you.  We are happy to cover the shipping, but you have de-activated your account.  If you could re-instate this and inform us if the claim to your bank has stopped, we will be happy to resolve the shipping matter.  If the claim is still in place, we can't ship the item as the initial item will not have been paid for.  We still have no records of any contact by phone or email to our customer service center.  Can you please let us know how you are contacting us?  We answer, on average, in under a minute all day.Thank you. EBTH

Hello,If the customer would like a sales tax refund, they will have to file with the state to earn this sales tax exemption.  Thank you.

Thank you for your consideration. The market has located the coins and they are being overnighted to Mr. [redacted] via UPS, tracking [redacted], to get them to him by Christmas as he requested of our customer service team. Thank you for your consideration. EBTH

Thank you so much for your attention to this problem.  While I'm not happy with EBTH's foot dragging with this problem, I am happy it is now resolved. If I cannot have the item I purchased, then the refund will do.Thank you again for your assistance,[redacted]

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to these concerns. Ms. [redacted] purchased two pieces of jewelry from EBTH on 5/30, invoice B-[redacted]. Included in her invoice is item [redacted], which sold for $155, and item [redacted], which sold for $60. The combined shipping cost is $23.52, so the...

final total, with both items, shipping and sales tax is $253.30.After receiving her winning invoice, Ms. [redacted] noticed that her shipping quotes were not as they were quoted and called customer service, requesting that they be combined. A customer service representative explained how shipping worked for this particular sale; specifically, that the items are removed from the home and packaged individually prior to the sale going live, ready to be sent out to the winning bidder. Since they are already packed, to remove them from their boxes and repack them together would ultimately add to the shipping costs. Per our FAQ’s, “EBTH tries to combine shipping when we can; but we cannot guarantee this.  In order to ship more quickly, efficiently and cost-effectively, we have started removing items from the home before the sale goes live.  They are now packaged and ready to ship out as soon as the sale ends!   This provides a safer, more secure sale process for the seller while allowing our loyal bidders to purchase items from multiple sales all over the country!  You'll see this in effect with faster, more affordable shipping rates. Plus, items will arrive just a few days after you place the winning bid!  As the items are packaged prior to the sale going live, the items cannot be repacked together.” This is done as a courtesy for customers when it can be. Additionally, every shipping quote that is pulled from our website is accompanied by the disclaimer, "Final quote may vary due to insurance for items valued over $100.” Shipping quotes are estimates and subject to change. As we investigated this filing with the Revdex.com, we found that Ms. [redacted]’s shipping quotes did change for each item. For [redacted], Ms. [redacted] pulled a shipping quote of $7.34 fifteen times between 5/25 and 5/31. The breakdown of the quote was $2.74 for transit and $4.60 for packaging, to come to her via [redacted] Mail Innovations. When she paid, the shipping quote went up to $9.07, with the packaging cost rising to $6.33. This change occurred due to the rising price of the item. The difference was $1.73, which we have refunded as a one-time courtesy. For [redacted], Ms. [redacted] pulled a shipping quote for $7.34 until 8:40 PM on 5/30. The breakdown of this cost was $2.74 for transit and $4.60 for packing, coming via [redacted] Mail Innovations. At 8:41 PM on 5/30, Ms. [redacted] placed a bid for $101. Per our shipping policy, when an item reaches a bid amount of $100, it is carried via [redacted] ground, which is more expensive. The bidding on this item ended at 8:58 PM on 5/30 and Ms. [redacted] did not pull a revised shipping quote until after she won the item. The new cost was $17.91, with $8.88 for transit, $6.33 for packing, and $2.70 for insurance. Since the new shipping price was only available for Ms. [redacted] for 18 minutes during the bidding process, we have issued her a credit and refund for $10.57 as a one time courtesy. The total refund issued to Ms. [redacted] is $12.30. We advise that, for future purchases, she check with our customer service team to ensure that items in a sale can be combined. As previously stated, this is something we do when and if we can, but it not a policy. Thank you for your consideration,EBTH

Thank you for your concern.  We stand by our earlier statement and abide by the US tax laws.

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to these concerns. Mr. [redacted] purchased an antique cabinet and an antique pie safe for $366 on 8/6, invoice B-[redacted]. The piece was available for free pickup from the seller’s property on 8/8 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Mr. [redacted] called our...

customer service number on 8/7 to inquire about pickup. He hoped to pick the piece up during a different time, as he had not realized that there was a scheduled time and date. The customer service representative with whom he spoke explained that, because the pickup was at the private business of the seller, the pieces would only be available for pickup during the scheduled time. She explained that this information was available on the website during the live bidding for the item. Mr. [redacted] expressed his frustration and that he did not find this to be easily locatable information. When an item is available for pick up, all available fulfillment options are listed to the right of the item photo. To illustrate this, we have included a screen shot of an item that is available to be picked up from a personal property sale, like the pieces purchased by Mr. [redacted]. As can be seen in the screen shot “Pickup Collapsed.jpg,”  the “Pick It Up” option has a small plus sign to the right of it. This is a standard symbol which indicates that a collapsed information box must be expanded. When that plus sign is clicked, the box expands and the pickup information can be seen, as is shown in screenshot “Pickup Expanded.jpg.” Per his conversation with our customer service department, Mr. [redacted] contends that this is too complicated and that only a skilled user would know how to view this. When bids are placed on EBTH, a pop up window opens before the user is allowed to bid. This window forces the user to select a fulfillment option for the item they are planning to bid on. As can be seen in screenshot “Pickup Bid Unselected.jpg,” this window has a radio button next to each fulfillment option and the options look exactly the same as they do on the item page. When a user selects the pickup option as their fulfillment option, the option automatically expands, showing the user the scheduled pickup time and date, as can be seen in the screen shot “Pickup Bid Selected.jpg.”Per our terms and conditions, “By placing a bid, you expressly agree that if you are the winning bidder you will pay for your item and agree to any additional handling and shipping fees applicable for shipped items. It is your responsibility to understand the pickup and delivery options and costs for each item before you place your bid.” Because this information was available to Mr. [redacted] in a clear way before he placed his bid, we cannot reimburse him for his gas, time or work.Thank you for your consideration, EBTH

Thank you for the opportunity to further respond to these concerns. In the calls with Mr. [redacted], which were recorded and referenced back to in the creation of our responses, he told us that if we delivered it, he would reject delivery. Furthermore, he told us to cancel the order and refund him. He was told that if we canceled the order, he would still be responsible for payment as that would be considered a forfeiture. This is per the terms and conditions that he agreed to prior to placing bids on EBTH. We cannot refund Mr. [redacted]. We consider this matter resolved. Thank you for your consideration,EBTH
