Yellow US Pages Reviews (133)

Review: I was contacted by Yellow USPages by phone and during the conversation they continued to tell me that the service was free until the end. The told me the conversation was being recorded and when they asked me if I would like to be billed or pay with a credit card, I told them I was not interested in this service. Since then I have received several harassing phone calls telling me that my bill had been turned over to collections by [redacted] in the ParaLegal department with threats of pursuing more steps. She said that she had me on recording at which time I asked her to play back for me. The recording has been doctored and I told her that the end of the conversation had been cut off where I said I was not interested when asked for money. My invoice number is [redacted] Account Number: [redacted] Billing to : Acrylic Enhancements & MoreDesired Settlement: I would like paper work stating that I no longer owe them money and that this account has been settled.

Review: Our business has been scame with what seem to be a slam sale pitch. We've been threaten with invoices that state the debt will be turned over to a collection agency. We never authorized for any of these services . But they claim to have a recording of a supposed authorization made by an employe that no longer works in our company he also assures never making such authorization because he knew he did not have the authority to make decisions for the company.Desired Settlement: We need them to stop any charges and to stop the threats of sending us to collection agency we need this cleared up immediately .

At this time, I have not been contacted by Yellow US Pages regarding complaint ID [redacted].

Sincerely,

Review: I was contacted by phone by someone purporting to be with a company called Yellow U.S.

Pages. They went into their pitch... 60 days free trial... We'll notify you before free trial ends...you'll receive a copy of the contract before the free trial ends etc.

I was contacted today by their "collections department" for a delinquent bill (that was never received). I spoke with a person calling herself [redacted] ( when I called back to attempt resolution she called herself [redacted]). [redacted] identified herself, her job ((collections department Yellow U.S. Pages) and the purpose of her call. Namely collecting a debt she alleges I incurred in the amount of $770.79. I stated that I never authorized service from them, never received a contract from them nor did I ever receive an invoice for services from them. [redacted] argued that I did and then played a low quality recording of the alleged conversation. While it sounds like my voice, it also sounds like it's been cut and spliced together. In other words edited to create a conversation that did not take place as described. I informed her that I would be contacting my attorney and she told me that the file would be sent out to a 3rd party collections. After the phone call ended I immediately looked up this company and found that the preceding events and tactics have been used on many people. There's web pages devoted to this particular company "fraudulent yellow pages listing scam". I spoke with [redacted] in the [redacted]. Revdex.com Office. He was well aware of this company and has received many complaints. [redacted] advised that I contact the Michigan Attorney generals office and the F.T.C. and finally your office.Desired Settlement: A letter completely and permanently absolving me, my family, my business and/or my estate from any alleged financial obligations to them or their assignees which include 3rd party collection agencies.

Review: We never agreed to any offer from this vendor and have been harassed about payments to invoices that we never agreed to. We have been sent a bill for services we never agreed to or spoke to them about.Desired Settlement: I want there claimed bill to go away and to stop threatening collections. If we ever signed any contract please send to us. I think they use this as a ploy to scare people into signing up for the services.

Review: I am the owner of the company and I did not speak anyone at YellowUSPages. When I received a bill from them for $719.99 I was suprised. I contacted their office to question the bill and was told that I could listen to the recorded message. I listened and it was not me, it was an employee. All she did was verified the address and phone number. In the recording there was no mention of how much the service would cost or how it would be billed. My employee is not authorized to purchase any advertising and we do not advertise because of the nature of our business. In listening to the recording it sounded as if questions were asked and answers were switched. My employee did not agree to pay for any service. When I called I spoke with a employee at ext. [redacted] which was very rude and hung up on me. Also, she stated that if I did not pay the bill it would be turned over for collections. I hope they recorded our conversation! I called back after she hung up on me and ask to speak to a supervisor and was told she was the only person I could speak with in regards to my dispute. My employee states that she never agreed to purchase anything and that she ask several questions in regards to the call. In researching this company I am not the only person that has had this type of problem. I told her this was not ethical and I would not pay this statement in the amount of $719.99. PLEASE HELP ME RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. Thank you!Desired Settlement: I want a letter faxed or emailed stating that I am not responsible for the $719.99 balance charged by YellowUSPages.

Response:

Thank you for forwarding [redacted]’s complaint to my attention. Here at Yellow US Pages, we understand the importance customer satisfaction to any business and are therefore more than happy to work with our clients in order to ensure that they are pleased with the services we provide.

I have reviewed this information and must disagree with [redacted]’s claim.

We have on file, a recorded verbal authorization with [redacted]. In this recording, the representative verifies that she is authorized to place this order and explains quite clearly that the service is on a two month trial period and that they are responsible for contacting our Customer Service Department at any time during those sixty days, in order to cancel their listing.

The cost of the service, should they chose not to cancel the listing is also very clearly stated by the representative. The Customer Service toll free telephone number is openly provided on this recording, as well as a username and password for her to make any changes to her listing.

At no time during the sixty day trial, did we receive a call requesting cancellation.

[Your Answer Here]

At no time have I spoke with [redacted], which is rejecting the complaint. They absolutely do not have a verbal authorization with me [redacted] the business owner. I was out of town and have never agreed to any thing with the Yellow US Pages. I did receive a call from the same representative today that I spoke with prior to the complaint. I offered to pay for July and she said no they do not prorate their charges. I felt that was fair since they spoke with an employee of my company not me. The employee is/was not authorized to agree to any advertising. I was told again today that if I did not pay it would be sold for collections.

Thank you for your help and understanding.

Review: On March **, US Yellow Page called and got some general information of our firm, they said they would give us two-month trial period. I am the one who talked to them and they recorded our conversation as the oral authorization. At that time, I didn't know what kind of service they provided and just said yes. Then we just received the fax and call from them and said we need to pay them the whole year charge of $770.79 because we didn't call them to cancel the service. It's ridiculous and unreasonable because we didn't receive the initial invoice and never give them the written authorization to start the services. They called us this morning again and let us solve the problem within today, otherwise, they will send our case to the 3rd party collector, which will effect our firm's credit. What should I do?Desired Settlement: Cancel the service contract with them and won't pay them.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

"I, [redacted], would like to reject Yellow US Page's response with the reasons listed below.

First, the Public Relations Manager, [redacted], claims that "In this recording, the representative verifies that she is authorized to place this order and explains quite clearly that the service is on a two month trial period and that they are welcome to contact our Customer Service Department at any time during those sixty days, in order to cancel their listing."

First of anything, I am not aware that the phone conversation was being recorded.

When I first inquired about the billing in Early June, the representative, [redacted], played back a recording that she claimed was done in May 2013. She claimed that in that recorded conservation, I placed the order at the end of the "two-month trial period".

It seems like the recording [redacted] is talking about happens around March 2013, which is the "beginning of the two months trial period". Clearly, the whole recording thing that we are talking about has conflicting schedule issue. I was never understood the time frame for the two months trial period, and actual date, for the "recording" that [redacted] pointed out, was still unknown to me.

Secondly, Yellow US Page never explained to me what the program is about, and what the services can do for us. They never sent me any marketing materials such as brochures, or any written documentations to indicate that me, as customers, understand the products and was willing to place an order. Besides the only "verbal authorization" that [redacted] claims to have, I did not get any kind of written documentations to indicate my willingness to join the program, and I never received anything to indicate that I was using the service.

Thirdly, when I called to inquiry about the charge in Early June, I was disappointed and was trying to terminate the program, even I was never willingly to sign up for anything. However, I was told that Yellow US Page would not do pro-rate, and I have to pay the full amount of 700 dollars for the annual services. Without an absence of any kind of written contract or authorization, I was not informed about the "no pro-rate" policy, and Yellow US Page failed to explain to me any kind of cancellation policy. The "no-prorate" policy was never explained to me until I called to inquiry about the billing. It was unfair to consumers as it forced small business like my company to pay for an unknown services, and the business like Yellow US Page refuses to terminate the service, even I was never intended to start it.

Base on the reasons listed above, I truly think that the business practice of Yellow US page is out of normal standard, and that I strongly disagree to pay for the "annual charge" that was imposed unfairly by Yellow US page.

Please review the case and give us a fair response.

Sincerely,

Respectfully,

Review: Company called on January **, 2013, posing as the Yellow Pages with a free 60 day trial of an online listing. Only after my authorization did they reveal that they were not affiliated with the official Yellow Pages. Yellow US Pages said that I would only be charged if I CHOSE to continue my service after the 60 trial. On the phone they focused on the two month free trial, only very briefly mentioning the TOP 10 Program Annual Package with which they are invoicing me for $719.99. Never did they reveal the conditions of the TOP 10 Program Annual Package for which I was signing up, implying that I was only signing up for the two month free trial. After a dispute on the phone, they played back a very small portion of the original phone conversation excluding ALL of the affirmations that we would not be charged and my confirmations of that. They portion is taken out of context and does not include an estimate of 80-90% of the original phone conversation. Our invoice for $719.99 is dated for 3/**/2013, yet we did not hear of it until 5/**/13 which implies that we are being negligent on our payment. We called on 5/**/13 with no answer and have several conversations on 5/** and 5/**. We are being threatened if we try and fight it and are not being let talk to the supervisor.Desired Settlement: We do not intend to pay the Yellow US Pages any of the $719.99

Sincerely,

Review: YellowUsPages, misrepresented themselves during the phone solicitation in July 2013. YellowUsPages never represented themselves as a company offering new internet marketing services. They did attempt to disguise themselves and act like a business our office had an ongoing relationship with. The phone solicitor asked for verification of our current address, phone number and other business information so our records could be updated. The phone solicitor never stated this information would be utilized to set up YellowUsPages as a new internet marketing company. As a result of your misrepresentation, it would be very easy to confuse our own internet marketing company with the predatory phone solicitation of YellowUsages.

Any information that YellowUsPages construed as an authorization was never given by me, the owner of the company. Any information received was from a front desk secretary.

It also seems strange that YellowUsPages never contated our office since 07/** to build my website. The first contact I personally had with YellowUsPages was by fax and phone call on 11/**/2013 concerning a collection notice. There was not a single point of contact for July, August, September, or October of 2013.How does an internet marketing company build a website without the client's information, pictures or any office data?

I would ask for YellowUsPages to provide any validation or proof that they may have to dipute these points.Desired Settlement: No balance owed.

Sincerely,

Review: The Yellow US Pages contacted our office on 6/*/13 and offered a 60 day free trial of their advertising service. Thinking this was the actual yellow pages, and knowing that the office information listed there was incorrect, I agreed to the 60 day free trial listing. I was told that a packet of further information would be coming by mail regarding the program. No such packet was ever received. Someone from YUSP called the office on 9/**/13 and faxed information stating that we owed them $770.79 for a yearly contract that was 104 days in arrears and about to be sent to collections. They played a recording claiming that authorization was received over the phone. I believe the recording was altered and parts of the conversation omitted as the only thing agreed to was the 60 day trial. When YUSP was contacted on 9/**/13 and told that payment would not be made that day, the representative, [redacted], threatened that the interest and fees would continue to pile up if I did not pay that day, and that the account would be sent to collections. No previous bill has been received from YUSP prior to the threatening call on 9/**/13, and no contract has been received or signed for this service. Furthermore, if the first 60 days of this service were indeed a free trial, then there is no way that the account could be 104 days past due.Desired Settlement: I would like paperwork confirming that nothing is owed to this company and the account is settled. Furthermore, I would like [redacted] to be removed from their call list and never contacted again.

Review: Called July [redacted] and cancelled yellow pages subscription within the 63 day trial period which began May [redacted] . Voicemail picked up my call. I left message to cancel the subscription . Receiving collection phone call about past due $719. payment. Spoke to [redacted]. She refuses to resolve this issue. [redacted] now says I need a cancellation number and will accept $600. payment for resolve this issue. If a company has a voicemail account, they should return calls to the business that left a message. I followed the 60-63 day cancellation policy that was recorded on May **. There was no mention of the need for a cancellation # that [redacted] at the in house collection department is now requesting.Desired Settlement: The subscription needs to be cancelled in writing, with zero balance due to me or Major Dental Lab.

Review: I was contacted by someone at YellowUSPages who wanted to offer me a free two-month trial of their special advertisement program. I specifically asked if I would have to cancel before the end of the two month period to avoid being charged, and that I was not interested in any program that required me to cancel to avoid being charged. I was assured that I would not be charged at the end of the two month period, and that they would call me to find out if I wanted to continue the program beyond two months if I desired to do so, and that would be the time I was charged. I recently received an invoice via email for $719.99 letting me know that my account was on the verge of being turned over to debt collectors if I didn't resolve the bill immediately. I phoned the agent that the invoice said was in charge of my account and explained to her that I was told I was not going to be billed. She claimed to have an audio recording of me agreeing to be charged. The recording she played was blatantly edited and spliced, much of the conversation completely missing. I told the agent that the recording was missing the parts where I was told that I would not be billed, but she reaffirmed that she had me on tape agreeing to be charged. I am still receiving emails at this point stating that the invoice is over 100 days past due, even though it hasn't yet been 100 days since their original call.Desired Settlement: I would like to be reimbursed for my time in dealing with them on the phone, for my time in contacting the state's attorney general, for my time in contacting the Revdex.com, for my time in contacting the FTC identity theft hotline, and for my time in writing a letter to the National Fraud Center.

No, I am not litigating.

Review: [redacted] from YellowUS Pages repeatedly contacts my business, often multiple times an hour. He claims our company owes $599 to cancel a yellow pages listing. Our company has never advertised with the yellow pages nor have we signed a two-year agreement. [redacted] claims to have a recording of us verbally assenting to the advertising contract. What a scam!Desired Settlement: We wish for YellowUS Pages to stop contacting our business.

Review: I received a bill from this company for $770.74 and a threat to turn me into collections. I never authorized nor spoke with these people. This is a scam that looks very real.Desired Settlement: I do not wish to pay this bill and refuse to pay this bill for a service that is not only outdated and not used but never authorized. Sincerely,

Review: On September ** I received a fax from Yellow us pages of a past due invoice for $719.99 + interest and admin fees of $50. I called and tried to get [redacted] and could not get through. Today September **, I received an invoice dated September ** for $719.99. I called and spoke to one person who sent me to [redacted] who then put me through to a third person. I asked what this invoice was for and she said I signed up for a 1 year contract per phone on June **, 2013 which I don't recall . I told her I did not ever agree to a contract and the business name they have is not my businesses name. She then told me they have my call recorded and let me hear it and was very adamant that I owed them and would send to collection. Anyone could hear the recording has been altered as I have been in business for 30 years and would NEVER agree to this contract or amount. This company is scamming people out of money as they are worried about a credit collection agency coming after them. I explained to her that I was NOT an assistant and I am the owner and only person here. If you listen to the fictitious taped recording you immediately realize they replay previous answers from you.Desired Settlement: I expect this company to eliminate contacting me and stop any sort of collection as I spoke to the Illinois attorney general and will follow this up with a lawsuit if it persist.

Review: The Yellow US Pages called my home, so they say, and spoke with my wife, who suffers from health issues, and is not authorized to make decissions with my business, They claim this was one year ago. We have not heard from them, now we start getting phone calls and bills requesting payment of $719.00 and they are adding fees. I did not authorize this and will not pay it... They are representing themselves as the yellow pages. These people are scam artists and should be shut down..Desired Settlement: I want this account closed! The amount wiped clean, I do not owe it.. and I want them to NEVER contact my home again, this has been a detriment to my wife's health and I do not appreciate it.

Review: We received an invoice from this company on or around October **, 2013 for $719.99. The invoice is dated 9/**/13 and the account number is [redacted] and the invoice number is [redacted]. On the back of the invoice (Terms and conditions for online advertising), there is a section entitled "Order Cancelation". It states: "(a) After an Order is accepted, Customer may only cancel the Order by providing YellowUSPages.com a written notice no longer than thirty (30) days from receiving their invoice." In compliance with their stated cancelation policy, I emailed the company, at the email address on their invoice ([redacted]) on October **, 2013 that I wished to cancel the order.

I received a fax from [redacted] on November [redacted] stating our invoice was past due and that interest and administrative fees had been added and my new bill was now $770.79. I immediately faxed [redacted] (to the fax number listed on her cover sheet) and explained I had canceled this order on 10/**/13 and included a copy of the email cancelation.

[redacted] then called me on 11/**/13 and proceed to brow beat me insisting I had a past due invoice and that I must pay it immediately or it was going to be submitted to collections. I asked her if she received my fax and she said "no, we don't get faxes here". I then explained I had sent an email to the billing department and she asked where my cancelation number was. I explained I never received one and she stated my order was not canceled and I need to pay immediately. This conversation went on for some time. I read her the verbiage on the back of the bill, which again states you have to cancel within 30 days of receipt in writing and that I had done so. After a very heated conversation, [redacted] said she would look into my email and she would be in touch.

She called again today (Nov. [redacted]) demanding payment. I asked her about the email and she said she had no idea what I was talking about. I asked to speak with someone else and was told no. After another heated conversation she suddenly remembered she was going to check into the email and said she would get in touch with me.Desired Settlement: I wish for this company to honor the cancelation email I sent within their stated deadline (to their stated email address) and to stop calling me.

Review: These people called up stating that they were placing us on a one month trial period with their site, and that it was only a trial, and that we would get notice when the trial was up so that we could cancel or continue, which we never received at all. I told this person over and over that I had no authorization regarding any contract with them, and they kept repeating that it was just a trial. They were asking all kinds of crazy questions in the beginning like how was my weather, or if it was sunny or cold, which I thought was funny at the time, but now I see that they record your responses so that they can use them to their advantage. I did not and could not authorize them to set us up as a permanent client, nor did I receive any information from them on how to get into any site they set us up on. So therefore, the $719.99 bill they sent me is not going to be paid because they did not talk to the owner of the business to get an authorization to do it.Desired Settlement: I want a fixed bill or letter from these people stating that we have a $0.00 balance and that they will never contact my company again.
