Yellow US Pages Reviews (133)

Review: April **, 2013, I received a cold call from YellowUSPages.com soliciting business to advertise on their online directory. They offered a 30 or 60-day free trial period and up until then, I could cancel if I wasn’t satisfied. They would send me a Welcome Package and all the information. I agreed. No correspondence ever came from them. Nothing. On 7/**/2013, out of the blue, I get a phone call from a woman who says my account is in collections and I owe $719 + extra charges for interest and admin. Fees. $770 now.

When I asked her about terminating the account and just paying for the time used, even though I received no benefit and nothing in writing, she said that could not be done. There was also a $599 fee for early termination. I told her I had never received any invoices in the U.S. mail; she claimed they had sent them 6/** and 7/*. I requested an invoice, and she emailed me Invoice # [redacted], dated 6/**/2013.

7/**/13. [redacted] called. She played back a part of the original authorization conversation they had with me. They did say " $60 monthly, billed annually." But that did not mean to me that I could not cancel anytime between the free trial period and the 1 year and have charges prorated for time in effect. I still have nothing in writing, but they said the recorded authorization is binding. I don’t believe that is true.

Then I talked with [redacted], a manager. We went around a little bit, but he was not budging. No payment only for time using the service; "One year billing was clearly outlined in the recorded conversation, and we gave you a phone number so you could call us if you had any questions or concerns. I see no correspondence from you."

He told me to eliminate "extra charges", I can pay them by credit card or by a "phone check". They don't accept [redacted]. I won't give them a credit card or let them have any of my banking information because I don’t trust them. There is no negotiating with them. This operation has scam characteristics, and I find their methods to be unscrupulous.Desired Settlement: I want them to 1) drop all charges and fees 2) delete my listing from their online directory, 3) never contact me again.

Review: I recvd a bill regarding a verbal contract with a leasing agent, who is no longer with our company, nor was she authorized to speak on behalf of our company. When I called in to talk to someone about this I was transferred to [redacted] ###-###-#### ex [redacted], who by the way wouldn't let me get a word in regarding this bill nor would she transfer me to her manager after I requested to speak to her supervisor. She then yelled at me, stated that she will just send us to collections, and then hung up on me! I called back to the general line several times trying to get a supervisor on the line. I was told that I wasn't able to speak to a supervisor and that I had to speak to [redacted] or no one else regarding this. [redacted] kept putting me to her voicemail and refused to speak to me.Desired Settlement: I want this debt wiped away since there was not an authorized rep from our company to OK the charges. This is a scam and we are not falling for this, and I also want any future corespondances stopped between US Yellow Pages and our company.

Review: YellowUSPages called my business April 2013 offering their service for an online yellow pages listing. Right away I told them that I took over the business and at this time I have no advertising budget. I then asked them if the previous owner had a listing with them. They told me they did and said that they had an outstanding bill that needed to be paid. I have owned the business now for almost 2 years and my thought was, why is there an outstanding bill? I could not get a straight answer except they said that the bill will be sent to me and they suggested that I forward it to the previous owner otherwise I would be obligated to pay it. They then offered me a 60 day FREE trial which after that I can decide to continue the service for $60 a month. I again told them that I would not be interested especially if I have to contact them to cancel. I wanted to check into this outstanding bill first. They then issued me a user name and password. After hanging up, I was completely confused! I went into the site using the user name and password given to me and they didn't work. I thought that it hadn't been activated yet so I waited several days before trying again. I still wasn't sure what this was all about. Still puzzled about this so called outstanding bill, I called the previous owner of my business and was told they never dealt with YellowUSPages. So now I'm getting worried about this. The first thing that came to my mind that this has to be a scam. I again tried the user name and password and still no luck. I went onto the site as if I were a consumer looking up my business and sure enough, there it was, listed first, highlighted and with a 5 star rating. Ok, but as I scroll down, I notice that all the other business listed is my category no longer existed. This web site isn't even up to date. I proceeded to look up other business in my community and discovered that many businesses they listed have no longer been in business for several years. I only found a few that were highlighted like mine and figured that these were the only businesses that were forced into paying for it. I called YellowUSPages to cancel the service and all I could do was leave a message. In July, I received an invoice for $719.99. I assumed that this was the outstanding bill that they informed me about. After further reading, this was an actual new contract. The invoice was dated 6/**/2013 and the postmark on the envelope was 7/**/2013 (almost a month later). On 8/*/2013 I received a fax about this outstanding invoice and to contact them to resolve it. It was only about 4 days since I received the invoice that they are now charging me $10.80 in interest and a $40.00 Administration Fee equaling now $770.79. I called them again and can only leave a message. Several days later, they call me back only to tell me that the account has gone into collections. I told them I didn't know what has happened here but we need to get this resolved. Before I had a chance to say much, I was turned over to someone who spoke so fast I couldn't understand anything he was saying, so nothing was resolved. I have received another fax on 8/**/2013 stating that I still owe $770.79. I need help in this matter. My business can't afford this.Desired Settlement: Please cancel this service and invoice. I do not want to be contacted by this company again.

Thank you for forwarding [redacted]’s complaint to my attention. Here at Yellow US Pages, we understand the importance customer satisfaction to any business and are therefore more than happy to work with our clients in order to ensure that they are pleased with the services we provide.

I have reviewed this information and must disagree with [redacted]’s claim.

We have on file, a recorded verbal authorization with [redacted]. In this recording, the representative verifies that she is authorized to place this order and explains quite clearly that the service is on a two month trial period and that they are responsible for contacting our Customer Service Department at any time during those sixty days, in order to cancel their listing.

The cost of the service, should they chose not to cancel the listing is also very clearly stated by the representative. The Customer Service toll free telephone number is openly provided on this recording, as well as a username and password for her to make any changes to her listing.

At no time during the sixty day trial, did we receive a call requesting cancellation.

Review: In April I was called with an offer to try yellowuspages.com for one month free then if I chose not to keep it call and cancel or pay a $60.00 a month charge billed annually if I did not call. I got the bill in the mail and planned on not continuing the advertising. They called in June saying I owed $760.00 for the annual amount I said no thank you but I will pay the $120 for the two months that it ran, they replied that I could cancel for $599.00 that was the best they could do or make a payment of $200.00 on the account. I replied no I will only pay for the two months the ad has ran for. They said they then would have to sell it to a collections group and I could deal with them. I said fine I will pay them the $60 a month for the year. I am a small company and with a budget that $60 a month fits in. The legal department called then in July on the [redacted] and claimed that if I didn't pay the money either the payment or the total amount I would be served with papers to appear in New York courts over this issue. I said no thank you.Desired Settlement: I would just like to be left alone on the issue, I would like their company brought down for the unfair and un-businesslike attitude they have, it is obvious they are not out to make the customer happy or help the customer with their advertising services.

Review: While wishing to advertise for my business, I came across Yellow US Pages. I completed the form to add my business or at least inquire about the service. A phone representative contacted me. Although my information was supposedly taken down and applied towards a listing, I was told that after 60 days I would automatically be enrolled into a 1 year contract at $50/mo. After the phone conversation I received no e-mails, notice, phone call, nothing letting me know that my listing was active, up, or anything. And because I never received anything, it is difficult for me to log in to cancel a service. So I forgot about the service until I received a phone call months later indicating that I owe a balance for their service. I told the phone representative that I was not going to pay for a service that did not benefit me, that I was not provided any real value or service, and no information was ever provided to me to help remind me of my trial period ending--even a courtesy phone call inquiring if I wished to continue would had been nice. I received a phone call today demanding payment for the past due balance before this matter would be sent to collections. Today I was able to search their website and found an extremely limited listing of my business (name, po box address (which comes up with a bad location because a physical address should had been used), website, and phone number under a category that does not match my business). The other details of my business are missing. Of course if I truly wished to had utilized this listing, I certainly would had made an effort to ensure a complete listing. But with an incomplete listing, I cannot hardly see the $50/mo value especially when I received no phone calls, e-mails, website traffic, nothing from this business/website with an incomplete listing. I attempted to log into the account to cancel the service or do something. The account does not have my e-mail address on record, which means that I would not be able to log into my account to do anything. In short, I was told I would get a premium listing for 60 days that has considerable information missing and an inaccurate category, no ability to log in to update/correct listing, no real ability to cancel service, they refuse to cancel service by phone and I am told that I am responsible to pay for the fulfillment of the 1 year contract, and they refuse to give me any account access to even "benefit" from the service even if I was forced to pay and comply to use the service. This company also has the habit of sending invoices by mail to businesses who did not sign up service hoping the recipient would stupidly send in a payment for a service that perhaps doesn't exist, is incomplete, or is difficult to find due to an inaccurate category selected.Desired Settlement: I wish for my alleged account to be cancelled with my balance zeroed.

Review: In May 2013, I received an unsolicited phone call from Yellow US Pages regarding a "free" 60-day trial offer for the enhanced version of a listing on their website, Yellowuspages.com. The representative, during the initial sales call, stated that the trial was risk-free, and implied that I would have a choice to stop or continue using their services at the end of the 60 days or to extend it into a year-long, annual program. I later received a bill for the year-long program. On August **, 2013 I received a phone call from a representative saying I owed $770 plus cents for the full year + interest. I said I never ordered this. She played back a recording of my voice answering questions about this. I told her to cancel it right now. She said she could not do that! I asked what the $60 per month enhanced program covers. It allows me to update my listing. Well the sign on information on the recording did not work on the site. The site itself has old and outdated information for some businesses in my town, as well as my website being a 5 year old outdated website. I called her back several times over 2 days, to sort this out. I offered to pay $60 for the one month past the closure date. She refused that. The best she could offer was $599.99 "early termination fee" payable over 3 payments. Then she called back saying that owing to my severe financial situation they could offer me $70 per month for about 11 months! That is over $800 again! This price is ridiculous for the lack of value received.Desired Settlement: Cancel my "Enhanced" account and do not bill me.

Review: We agreed to a free 2 mo trial of this product. When I contacted them, 2 days past the 2 months, requesting to cancel my contract, they would not cancel it. I asked for a early termination option, I was told there wasn't one. I asked them to explain what the product was, they would not explain it to me. I gave in, thinking there was no other option, and paid the first installment. I was told when the second payment was due I would be contacted with the amount and asked how I would like to pay it. I never received that phone call. They drew the second payment from my account. I tried to contact them about it and got no response. They did call me a few weeks later saying they had fired the person in charge of my account and wanted to make sure I had received my updated statement. At this time I again asked if the early termination was an option, again I was told no. That since I had made a payment, I could no longer take advantage of one. When I told her I wasn't given the option previously, she replied that it is up to the agent to offer it if they feel like it. I asked if it was their practice to draw from an account without authorization, I was told no, and they apologized. I again asked for them to explain the product to me and they told me it was already explained to the original person who signed up for the trail and I should ask them. Every time I asked for options on how to get out of the contract they said "Well you don't have to pay, but then we will get a 3rd party collection agency involved". I asked for a supervisor and was told I was dealing with them. I still owe them one payment of $247.21. The total amount for the product, Top 10 Program, was $719.99 I understand I was late to cancel. I would have gladly paid the early termination fee, which I was told was around $500. I just don't agree with them drawing from my account, not giving me the opt our option, or refusing to explain the product.Desired Settlement: I would like these people put out of business, if it can be called a business. It would be nice to, at the very least, not to have to pay my last payment without the threat of a collection agency being involved. I don't want anyone else to be taken advantage of.

At this time, I have not been contacted by Yellow US Pages regarding complaint ID [redacted].

Sincerely,

Review: I received a call in March asking to verify information for my free listing and to sign up for a free trial on their website. It was indicated to me that no action had to take place before the end of the trial for it to end without further commitment. I was told there was "no obligation" and it was "risk free".

I did nothing with the online account and forgot about it until I received a call in June demanding payment for 7oo + dollars. I asked for the supervisor at the time and she refused to give me to one and then hung up when I didn’t fork over my credit card and continued to ask for a supervisor. I called yellow pages (whom I thought this was) and they told me that I had a free listing with them and that this was a scam.

I didn’t hear from them again until a month ago when they left a voicemail asking for payment, and then another on the [redacted] of September. I called their direct number at that point and told them that I did not agree to a continuing service that I had received nothing in the mail and was under the impression that the trial ended with out any further obligation from me. She played me a recorded conversation that was different than I was originally sold, then proceeded to tell me that they could settle the debt for $499. I requested this in writing so I could bring it to my attorney to review. She sent me an email with no letter head showing the discount but not stating this would terminate the contract, and attached a scan of a bill showing charges for $719.

Further more I am not willing to pay the $499 for a service that was supposed to be free for two months then end. Every representative I have spoken with has been less than friendly to down right rude. Today I received another call threatening third party collections. I would like to stop received harassing calls and this account to be termination with no balance.

Thank you.

[redacted]Desired Settlement: I would like a letter stating that the account has been terminated and that there is no remaining balance. I would like the company to stop calling me after this matter has been resolved.

Review: We have received a phone call from this company in the past 2 weeks claiming we failed to pay for a bill for a service that we never agreed to. They threatened to turn us over for collection and affect our credit rating if it wasn't paid right away that day. After arguing for about 15 minutes, I had to return to my work at the office, so we paid the amount due ($719.99) by company credit card. At that point I also stated we wanted our service cancelled, which he claimed he did and gave us a confirmation number for the cancellation. Today we received an invoice in the mail form YellowUSPages stating that the same amount was due again and that it had not been paid. We have credit card confirmation of payment and also recieved a confirmation of cancellation via fax to prove our end.Desired Settlement: we no longer want to be contacted ever again by this service nor do we want to owe them a single penny more.

Review: This scam unfortunately lured us in with a "TOP 10 Program" that would provide prioritized listing for our business. After signing up for the "free 60-day Trial" we were given incorrect login information to the website. We were told we could cancel the program at any time. We've since tried to email and call the "business" to get this resolved, but there is never a reply to the emails, and the phone number sat on hold for over 1 hour without any person to person interactionDesired Settlement: All we want is to have our information taken off of their database, and to cancel the 60 "free" trial, before they start attempts to bill us. Again, we want to STOP the "Free Trial" and prevent any unauthorized billing to our company before the 60-day trial ends.

[Your Answer Here]

I have tried again to reach the "Customer Service" Department, I have now spent a cumulative time of over 6 hours on hold, without speaking to a single person. Review: the company offered a 2 month trail membership.during the 2 months I could not find my information on their web site. It was stated that I would be notified at the end of 2 months and then I could choose to keep or cancel the service. I was not contacted until I received a phone call from yellowuspages collection agent saying I owed $720.00. I told her I never received a phone call or an invoice from the company she said one was sent and must have gotten lost in the mail. I was told I could cancel the membership for $599.00 paid in full or I could make payments and keep it for $720.00 I chose to keep it because I did not have $599.00 to cancel the service. I was NOT told that there would be interest charged & that there was a $40.00 administration fee. when I called about these fees I was told they would be waved since I had not received a statement. the fees have not been waived. when I asked when I would get my next statement she said she would call me when it was time for another payment. I put $100.00 aside for the next payment, when she called I was informed that there is a min. payment of $200.00. I only had $100.00 so she had me mail the payment in instead of using my debit card . then when she e-mailed me my next statement the interest charge of $10.80 & the administration fee of $40.00 were still owing on the bill. I was miss led from the beginning thinking I was subscribing to the real yellow pages. I am very unhappy with the web site & the company for misrepresentation.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund of the $380.00 I have paid to [redacted] and cancellation of my membership with no further payment due.

Review: I was called by this company several months ago where they offered a free two month online marketing package sample, without any information since then I recieved a random call by one of their employees stating that they would not only send my company to third party collections, in addition they threatened to send one of my employees to collections as well. the employee at my company was contacted by yellow us pages, and without a written contract preasured my employee to make a payment he was not authorized to make. since there was no written contract and since my employee wasn't authorized to make such a purchase, I find this method to not only be scam worthy but illegal, in that there was threats on sending people not even involved with the company, other than being employed, of getting sent to collections, We find this to be an unethical practice to take hard working business owners' from their money.Desired Settlement: We just want to cancel the transaction and get our money back, however, if this persists, we have decided to not only file the compaint with the Revdex.com, but are also prepared to contact the Illinois Attourney General if this can't be cleared up.

Review: I work at a salon and we received a phone call about trying out this yellow pages service. The first time they called the owner and myself were a little skeptical but told them to call back the next day and we'll talk about. When they returned the phone call on May **, 2013 I initially talked to a young man who told me the annual fee of the service was $714.00 which is a lot of money so I asked about the monthly price and he told me $60. When I told my boss the price she said we'd do the free two month trial and remember to cancel. So I asked the man how do we go about cancelling it and he told us we can do it online, call their number, they will call us for a reminder, and also that after I finish signing up a few days later we should receive a letter that gives me more details. I agreed and he transferred me to a woman who asked me a barrage of yes or no questions quickly then told me my username and password to login on the site. We hung up and we hadn't heard anything ever since. So when it should of been almost two months later I looked at what I wrote down that day from talking to the gentleman and proceeded to go to the website to cancel. Since we never received any paperwork I assumed the website was [redacted] but when I went there I couldn't get into the account and I didn't have a contact number so I kept trying to use the website which was useless I got busy and forgot about it. Everything was quiet for a long time ten on October *, 2013 we receive a letter from them. I open it and see that two pieces of paper the first has the price $719.99 and the second paper addressed to me at the bottom says we owe $770.79 with the date of September **, 2013. I was alarmed because I forgot of the service and haven't heard anything about it so I assumed that the account didn't exist. The contact number was on the letter so I called and talked to a girl named [redacted]. She said that it was an overdue balance of over $800 dollars and that if we don't pay now the were going to seek legal action. I explained that this is the first letter we received how I tried to cancel but couldn't get into the account and that I don't understand the interest part of it. I also told her that we haven't had the service for a year so why were we getting charged for a full year already. She claimed to talk to the supervisor and they would only charge us the $719.99 since we didn't get the notices. I told her there is no way that we would be ever to pay that that same day and if there was any way we can make smaller payments. She told me if we do smaller payments we would have to pay $300 dollars but pay the full amount owed. I asked to call her back then talked to the owner about it. After further investigation I called her back later on in the day and told her that we won't be paying them anything because what I was told didn't happen and I didn't sign to agree to those terms. She said it was an oral agreement that I made. When I told her that the gentleman that I talked to told me it was $60 a month if we didn't cancel so our bill wouldn't even be this high. She played the part of my phone call with them from May and it was the part I was answering all these yes and no questions but this was after me talking to the initial person. So when it was done playing I told her that she still doesn't have my signature on anything and that they never followed through on sending the paperwork for me to cancel, I didn't have access to this account at all and there was no way anyone called us or sent 5 notices about an overdue bill. I told her that this is an illegal ploy to extract money from business and try to hit them with exorbitant fees and threats. She said I oral agreement was legal if under $1000. I told her that's not true because there was a breach of contract on their part and that if we had this service cancel it then. She told me we couldn't it had to be in the first two months. I told her any service I'm paying for can be cancelled at anytime. At this time she became very irate and unprofessional yelling at me and cutting me off. Which no customer service representative would do in a situation like that so I told her we weren't paying and not to contact us anymore then hung up. Later on I looked up to see if it was a scam and it was. Many people have been scammed by this company from the same address.Desired Settlement: I want them to take back these charges. We had no way of contacting them to cancel, we didn't receive any notices of a fee until October *, 2013, and this is clearly a scam. I would also want an apology for how their customer service representative talked to me and threatened us with legal action. I honestly think that they should be sent to jail for doing this to different businesses because I know some people will pay them when they clearly breached the contract.

Sincerely,

Review: This company, Yellow US Pages, called about 3 months ago asking me to sign up for a free no obligation ad listing with their company. Guaranteed me that not only would it be a free trial but there was no commitment to stick with the advertising and after the free trial unless I said so the company would never be charged. Even after this I told them no and I didn't have authorization to do so. They continued to keep pushing me to do it and asking me questions like my name and title to which I eventually gave them in hopes of getting them off the phone. Finally they said they would switch me over to their supervisor for confirmation. As soon as she did I hung up the phone. Her supervisor called back several times to which I ignored the call. (I seen the name on the caller ID) Now 3 months later they are sending the company I work for invoices for over $700.00 for a service I never agreed to. They played a recording which is my voice, however I never answered the questions they asked in the nature that they were on the recording. The words I said must have been patched in over another recording, not to mention my numerous pleas of not being authorized were nowhere on the recording. I called the representative back and she said there was nothing she could do to help me, I asked to speak to her supervisor and she refused stating she wasn't going to interupt her supervisors day to talk with me. I informed her I knew that this is a scam and knew since day 1 and I offered to leave it at that if she left us alone. She refused and again refused to let me speak to her supervisor, just cut me off and played their "recording"Desired Settlement: I would like these people to stop sending invoices and accusing me of signing up for their "service". Ideally I would prefer if they just forgot all about us and I never had to hear from them again.

Review: I received a phone call today in regards to a collection notice for a company for an unpaid bill. This is the first I have been informed of this collection. I was told verbally that I needed to listen to a recorded call that a [redacted] placed. I listened to the call and I noted several issues. When I addressed these issues with [redacted] (contact reaching out to me to collect)she would interrupt every time that I was getting to a point of why it was valid that they did not receive proper approval to place the order. I asked to speak with her manager and she said that she was the only person that I could speak with. I told her this could not be the case and she argued and then hung up. I called the main number and asked to speak to her manager and I was told she doesn't have one, they are all acting individually handling the accounts they are issued. I asked to speak with [redacted] again and I was transferred. This occurred 4 more times in which I told her that I needed a physical address and contact name for our attorney to issue a statement of why we would not be paying this invoice. She then stated that she would email me an invoice. I told her that all I needed from her was a physical address for the appropriate department to receive this letter on behalf of our account. She refused and hung up yet again. I immediately called back and told her I would play her game all day but that this needed to be resolved. She laughed and I then stated that if I was hung up on one more time I would be reporting to the Revdex.com. She asked if I was threatening her and I stated, no simply stating that this is ridiculous and that this was my last method to get this resolved today. She then proceeded to tell me that she would destroy my companies credit rating and that the Revdex.com could not stop her from doing that. I suppose this her method of threatening me. I am writing to state that we did not authorize this charge and we will not be paying their invoice.Desired Settlement: I would like this company to be contacted and have explained to a higher power than [redacted] that this behavior is not acceptable. I would also like it stated that they either provide me a method of taking this issue higher or I am simply shredding the invoice. Any placement on the company's credit will be disputed by our legal department. I have come across a company with similar games in my past and it has fraud written all over it.

Review: In July 2013 (7/*/13) I had a salesman call my business indicating they were running a free trail membership to their online service. While on the phone, the salesman indicated there was a sixty day trial period for me to track the additional business I would receive by being listed with their “Top 10 program”. The salesman indicated to me that at the end of the 60-day trial if I was unhappy with my service or didn’t want to continue the membership I could cancel with the invoice.

On 9/**/13 I received the invoice (dated 9/*/13) and promptly cancelled in writing as indicated on the invoice and returned in their preprinted envelop.

On 10/*/13 I received a call from a COLLECTIONs agent with their company indicating I owed for their membership and also was being billed an administration fee of $40 along with the original invoice of $719.99. While I was trying to explain to him the salesman told me I could cancel by invoice after the 60-day trial (which I did) he played back the confirmation/authorization (as per my request). During the playback I noticed that the confirmation stated “you are required to cancel anytime within the 60-day period”. The collections agent stated that invoice dated 9/*/13 was the end of those 60-days and I clearly did not receive the notice to make my cancellation within those 60-days. He was absolutely right because I received the invoice on 9/**/13 and mailed back to them on 9/**/13.

THESE PEOPLE ARE PURPOSELY MISLEADING THE BUSINESSES WITH WORDPLAY and I think they need to be stopped. I don’t know if the salesman’s pitch to me was recorded or not (probably not because that would void their own confirmation) but I KNOW that I specifically asked if I had to remember to call in to cancel and he said no – otherwise I would have NEVER agreed to the trial.

I don’t know what if anything comes of these complaints as I have never filed one, but this one cost me $759.99… can only imagine how much they are making off their other poor victims.Desired Settlement: I have already paid for the full subsciption as well as the administrative fee to avoid adverse action taken affecting my good name and credit. I am willing to pay for three months of service since I have technically been "benefiting" from the listing, but I do not want to have a full annual membership and believe the administrative fee should also be repaid to me. That is my compromise and believe it to be fair.

Review: Our Business (Kuhl's Trailer Sales, Inc.) was contacted in May over the phone. They stated they were with the YellowUSPages (we thought this was something tied to the Yellow Pages). We had given the "ok" for the free 60 day listing and were told we would receive information via mail regarding the trial and contact information to call to cancel. The username and password that was provided over the phone was invalid and we had no way of contacting or reaching this "shadow" company. Today August **, 2013 we received via fax an invoice for $770.79. We immediately called the company and spoke to ([redacted] ###-###-####) we she was told we no longer wanted the service and kindly ask that they not charge us for the upcoming annual package she became hostile and said they can not and when I told her there was no way we would pay for a service we had not received any information regarding she told me, "You do what you have to do and we will do what we have to do." I thought her tone very confusing for a professional "Collection Agent". Following the conversation I did an internet research on the business and it appears they have a bad reputation with this kind of scam. I called YellowUSPages back and spoke to [redacted] and informed her that I kindly ask that they cancel our membership and not contact us again. I informed [redacted] that I would be contacting the Federal Trade Commission Bureau of Consumer Affairs regarding this "scam." She become very hostile and I hung up the phone.Desired Settlement: We have not paid the $719.99. We desire that the business waive the invoice and not contact our business again. I believe this business needs to be reported to the Federal Trade Commission for this type of activity.

Review: This company contacted me and asked to verify some contact details. then they went on to say that we qualified for a free trial of about a month or so. They asked if I was qualified to authorize that. I felt I could authorize a free offer so I said yes. then they went through this rehearsed speech in a matter of seconds and thanked me for my time an hung up. A couple months later I received a call from some lady claiming I owed them $800 because my free trial had expired and I didn't cancel. I told them I had no idea I needed to cancel and I had received no notification about needing to cancel. They replayed the tape recording in which during the very fast speech the man had said something about me needing to cancel the service.Desired Settlement: I don't want to pay for a service I was told would be free.

Thank you for forwarding [redacted]’s complaint to my attention. Here at Yellow US Pages, we understand the importance customer satisfaction to any business and are therefore more than happy to work with our clients in order to ensure that they are pleased with the service we provide.

Upon looking into this matter, I have found that this account has been terminated and that the charges have been removed. It shows up in our system with no outstanding balance.

Respectfully,

Review: Company has faxed us an invoice for $770.79 for 1 year advertising plus late fees. They have recording of our receptionist agreeing to terms - I believe this was spliced together. Receptionist does not recall the conversation. We often get calls for these services and she knows we are not interested and do not order (yellow pages is basically no value to my company). The agent indicated that we had a 2 month free trial, but it can only be canceled within first 60 days or full invoice is due. Didn't receive any notice/invoice/agreement until after the 60-day trial was over - now too late to cancel. Company states they sent us 2 bills - but we did not receive any.

Agent states they are sending us to collections for non payment.Desired Settlement: cancel invoice, never contact us again.
