Review: In June 2013 I took a call from this company about advertising my place of employment in on their website. There was suppose to be a 2 month trial that would end in mid August, I went with the fee trial offer, but after the trial period was up and with several attempts to end the free trial and messages left on voicemails, I never received and calls back which left me to assume that this matter was taken care of. In September I receive a fax representing an invoice that showed that my account with them reflected a balance of $719.99. I spoke to a young lady by the name of [redacted] with whom I told to explain to me what was going on because I had tried several times to cancel this trial. She advised me that it was too late to cancel and that I had been recorded agreeing to pay if the trial had not been cancelled. I advised her that this was insane that I should not be held responsible for this if I tried to cancel and I am trying to cancel now. She insisted that I pay $200.00 to stop everything and to cancel the trial. I told her that that was not fair and that I wanted to speak to a manger. She then told me that managers are only available during the morning hours that I would have to call back then. This went on for several weeks with no accomplishments in getting this bill thrown out, I advised her on our lat conversation that I was going to contact the Revdex.com to get this matter taken care of and from there she forwarded my file to a so called pre legal person who then sends me another faxed invoice stating that my account was 144 days past due. I advised her that from August ** until November *is not 144 days and it seems as if they were trying to charge me for the trial as well. She then preceded to change the days to 84 days past due. At this point I felt like I was being scammed. She advised me that if she didn't hear from me by Friday, November * she was going to take me to court. I have been told that my file was going to be placed with a third party or I will be taken to court. All of this for a matter that should have been resolved.Desired Settlement: I would like for this matter to be dismissed and no further contact.

Response:

At this time, I have not been contacted by Yellow US Pages regarding complaint ID [redacted].

Sincerely,

Review: I was contacted by this firm by telephone. Owning a website I was interested to listen to what they had to say, in light of the fact that because of the recession our business has been off. However, when they recorded my response on the phone I was obviously confused because I was under the impression there was a one time charge that was significantly less than the $600 to $1,000 they were now asking for. Had I known that they were looking for an annual comittment to be paid up front I would never, never have agreed to their program. Also, there was never any kind of written confirmation sent, which would have confirmed what they were asking for. I believe that this firm takes advantage of the fact that the 60 day trial goes unconfirmed and easily forgotten in the crush of every day business. In this context the lesson I now come away with is that I will never again agree to any form of verbal presentation that I receive by telephone. As I do with my own business, everything [redacted] does is put in writing in advance of any business being transacted. That way there is no confusion and both sides are in complete agreement as to the service offered and the pricing of same.Desired Settlement: I absolutely will not agree to pay the $683.45 they asked for if I paid immediately. Since I was recorded as having agreed to something, I will agree to pay them a flat fee of $100, just to make this whole issue go away. And that is also with the stipulation that my information ([redacted] information) does not appear in any form whatsoever on their website.

Review: We received a faxed invoice from YellowUSPages in the amount of $719.99. Knowing no one in this office would order this obscure service, I assumed this to be a scam and tossed it in the trash. A few weeks later I received a call from a [redacted] with YellowUSPages explaining that this invoice was for services we ordered. When I questioned her about who ordered this she told me I had ordered it and that she had a recording of the conversation. When she played it back for me, I did recall a cold call from what I assumed was "THE" Yellow Pages and I was told they were just updating our information. They then proceeded to ask me to verify a number of things like our address, phone number and other verifiable information. They asked closed ended questions which would elicit a reply of YES and used that answer to craft the recording that they were now playing back to me. It was obvious that they had edited this recorded call to have it appear that I had full knowledge of and agreement to a verbal contract that I could not break unless I called within 60 days, however no invoice was received until it was past that 60 days. There were additional charges that increased this invoice to over $800. This company is using unethical and fraudulent business practices to pray on small businesses and then threatening to turn them over to a third party collection agency and ruin their credit. In addition to this complaint to Revdex.com, I have already filed a complaint with the [redacted] against YellowUSPages and will file with the Federal Trade Commission and the State of New York Attorney General and since we are on the Do Not Call List I will file a complaint there as well. I have no plans to encourage this kind of unethical business practice by paying any part of their invoice.Desired Settlement: I would like to see this company cease using this recorded contract ploy in order to dupe small businesses into paying for services acquired by deception, harassment and threats.

Review: I was contacted by Yellow US pages numerous time regarding advertising my business online to enhance search result prior to July 2013. I declined their offer since I was highly skeptical about their company, also my business was doing well until June 2013. My business was decreasing greatly after June 2013. I received another call from YellowUSpages again in July 2013. In a slight hope of inceasing awareness of my business, I thought it would be worth to try advertising online. The offer was for a 2 months free trial, then follows with a charge for an annual contract. I was given an username and a temp password to log in online to review the search result periodically. The representative, [redacted] did NOT ask for a credit card or any other type of payment methods. So I thought they would at least send me a contract to continue their service after the free trial. After I got off the phone with [redacted], I went to their website and tried to log in with the provided username and password. But there was NOT anywhere I can log in with the username but only the email. I have tried with my own email but it did NOT work. So I called their customer service number. They were close already, which it was strange since I just got off the phone with [redacted] minutes ago. Then I tried again the next day. It wasn't answered. By then I was sure that something is not right. I went online to search if there's any type of advertisement about my business by YellowUSpage. There was none. So I just thought it's a scam and put this behind. Until 9/**/2013, I've received an invoice dated 9/*/2013 in the dued amount of $719.99. So I contacted YellowUSpages. I asked the rep if anyone signed any contract or anthorized the charge. She stated that it was a verbal contract that does NOT require any signature. However I am responsible to pay the full amount. I told her that they didn't even provide the service they describe. I didn't see any advertisement about my business. And my business is still dropping. She didn't want to continue with the conversation of the effectiveness of their service. But insist on how I can pay the amount. And if I don't pay them, the collection agency will contact me and it will affect my credit.Desired Settlement: I am in the process of closing my business. I do NOT want any loose end when I am done. I would like all claims to any contract regarding me or my soon-to-be-close business cancelled immediately including any collection procedures. I have read online about this type of scam. Apparently I am not the only victim. A lot of responses online stated just ignore them and don't pay them. I think this company should be reported or flagged somehow as scam and unlawful in their business practices. I feel sorry for anyone who answers their phone calls or give in to their threats.

Review: This company is involved in some pretty deceiving advertising. They say our company purchased advertising that started with 2 free months and then was billed a whole year in advance. They claim to have a voice recording of some one accepting there sales pitch but after listening to it, I am sure I never approved such a purchase. In the 20+ years in business, We have never needed to advertise in the yellow pages or any where else. We have grown by word of mouth and are not looking to add any additional work. I found their persistance that they had a valid contract with my company is a complete false accusation and I resent the fact I have to take up my time for these scammers.Desired Settlement: We do not want to ever be contacted by these scam artists again. Take us off your sales call list forever. Adjust my balance to $0 because my company [ Home Tech Heating and Cooling, Inc. ] never received anything from you. This yellow page listing scam has already received over 175 complaints, so this certainly shows their business practices are very shady,at best.

Review: A telemarketer sold their service with a 2 month trial to what I believed would put our website in a top 10 optimum search. Their services has not helped our rankings. People would need to go to their website to find us in their top 10 and that is not what was represented to me. I had no way to contact them until I recieved a bill. I then called and they were very rude and would not let me discuss my concerns. They would not transfer me to anyone else and then hung up on me.Desired Settlement: Not pay the $719.99 amount due.

Review: I canceled a free trial program I had with them, have a cancelation number cancelation number #[redacted] (March **, 2013) when I was contacted a month later April **, 2013 and reminder them of the cancelation number #[redacted] (March **, 2013)and asked they cancel the program she said there would be a $59.99 admid fee which I had no problem paying that day. A lady by the name of [redacted] (###-###-####) then sent me an invoice with a settlement amount of $770.79. I told her I was not going to pay that since I canceled the program in the time I was given and she had just stated over the phone it was just a $59.99 admin fee,, I assumed since I missed the the deadline by 2 days, being that we set the account up on January ** and I canceled it on March **. She told me she was going to continue to keep the account active until I pay this $770.79 and it will continue to accumilate fee, I once again ask that the account be closed and she said "no" I will not close it. She has continued to call our office on a "unknow caller" number only to yell at both myself and the business manager at the top of her lungs and threaten me by telling me she will have me loose my job if I do not pay this amount.Desired Settlement: I have no problem paying the $59.99 admin fee since I know I was 2 days from the 2 months trial peroid but techinally my two months should have ended at the end of March not in the middle. I canceled this account and feel these people practice very shady buisness

I have reviewed this information and must disagree with [redacted]’s claim.

We have on file, a recorded verbal authorization with [redacted]. In this recording, the representative verifies that she is authorized to place this order and explains quite clearly that the service is on a two month trial period and that they are welcome to contact our Customer Service Department at any time during those sixty days, in order to cancel their listing.

The cost of the service, should they chose not to cancel the listing is also very clearly stated by the representative. The Customer Service toll free telephone number is openly provided on this recording, as well as a username and password for her to make any changes to her listing.

The cancellation number that [redacted] provides in her complaint is not one from our company. We also do not have any fee for cancellation during the trial period. It would seem that [redacted] has confused us with a similar company.

Sincerely,

Review: I am being pursued by a collection agent for the Yellow US pages for a bill I feel I do not deserve. I have had a few other calls like this one and have been gilted out of a lot of money ofver the years. I recieved a call a few months ago while I was out of the office, which I often do. It was from and agent offering Yellowpages service. I explained to the girl that I was very busy and could not commit to this right now. She then said that she would email me all of the information so that I would be a ble to cancel before the trial ended. I never heard from her again. On September ** I recieved a fax detailing that we owed $719.99 for a TOP 10 Annual package. Then days later I recieved a call from [redacted] telling me that I was to pay them or else. I told him we didn't want the service and he played the recorded call for me. I also heard me ask her several times if they were going to email the information to me becasue I was out of the office. [redacted] then told me that they sent it and that was not their problem I didn't receive the information. I still owed them for a service I didnt even realize I had because I NEVER recieved the email I requested. Now [redacted] keeps calling me and harrasing me about this invoice. I told him I was contacting the Revdex.com last week when he called last week. As of Friday I was ill and did not come in to work until today. I recieved a call from [redacted] this morning taunting me saying "well I am attempting to collect on this debt, you said you would contact the Revdex.com but you didn't". I have just spent the last few days recovering from a severe bought with the [redacted]. I am very upset that these companies can make these calls and sign people up for service and charge astronomical amounts.Desired Settlement: I would like for them to not charge me for this service that I cannot use. It does not work for my business. THe recorded call they have is not the intial call but a recording of the coached version. THey instruct you not to say anything but yes or no. I would like them to NOT be able to do this to another unsuspecting comapny. THey are not even the [redacted]. They are a separate entity.

Review: Several weeks ago, I was intrigued with a free trial of Yellow Pages advertisement with full intention of cancelling once the free trial period was over. The initial interaction was over a fragmented phone line with numerous pauses to better define the offer since the caller was often times not clearly heard. After receiving an invoice for $719.99, I immediately called Yellow USpages to cancel all services and demanded an apology for misleading advertisement. The woman that answered the phone told me that she would check with 'her supervisor' whereupon she insisted on partial payment of some $400+. When I expressed outrage - she promised follow-up with a collection agency. I can assure you that if I ever receive such a complaint, my attorneys will sue for defamation on behalf of our corporation. Absolutely terrible customer relations...Desired Settlement: Discontinue all contact and payment requests.

Review: This company harassed our salvage yard manager and convinced him to just sign up for a two month free trial. After two months we can easily cancel. The number we had would not go through in order to cancel within the two months. I attempted to cancel immediately. We received a bill from them on October [redacted] indicating we owe $719.99 ( annual package of $1199.88 minus the sign up discount of $479.89). I attempted to call the number on the invoice. It says the number has been disconnected. I attempted to visit the website on the invoice, it does not exist. The email address is also non existent. On October [redacted], I mailed the invoice payment stub back with a note requesting to cancel the package and explained the contact numbers were no good. They have been calling our salvage yard manager and threatening him with collections. They played back his recording accepting the free trial. But we were never able to make contact to cancel it. And still are unable to contact them. We have searched the internet for this company and have had no luck in finding an alternate contact number. We have also searched our business online and there is not search appearing with our listing that appears affiliated with Yellow USpages. They took advantage of our yard manager by harassing him into accepting the trial.Desired Settlement: We will not pay the bill they have indicated we owe them.

Sincerely,

Review: In August (unsure of exact date), I received a COLD CALL offering 2 months free listing that would put the company in the top 10 on the internet in our industry. The remainder would be billed at $60/month. I accepted the 2 month free offer with the intention of reviewing the offer when I received the invoice which I was expecting immediately. I never received, nor signed a contract, or any communication until I received a PAST DUE invoice, including interest charges the beginning of November. Then I received a collection call from [redacted]. I said I did not want the service and that I did not sign a contract. I have continued to receive harassing phone calls and threats of collection agency action and credit reporting.

In addition, when I enter 'Yellow US Pages" several entries of 'COMPLAINT' AND 'SCAM' shows up. Let me be clear, I did not contact Yellow US Pages for their service (if there is any). This practice is obviously deceptive and must be stopped.Desired Settlement: STOP CONTACTING ME.

STOP BILLING ME.

STOP THREATENING ME.

Sincerely,

Review: A sales rep from Yellow US Pages spoke with a secretary at [redacted] in June of 2013. Her name is [redacted] and she has only worked here a short time. She is not authorized to enter into a contract of any kind. She understood that any contract negotiations with Yellow US Pages would be followed by a written contract that would be authorized by a proper member of the management of [redacted]. That written contract never arrived therefore was never signed and dated.

After a phone call and fax arrived that made me aware of the problem, [redacted] was terminated. I attempted to call [redacted] at Yellow US Pages(###-###-####) to inform her of the error. She was very rude and insisted that [redacted] be held responsible for the payment. She said that [redacted] was to be turned over to collections for $719.99 for payment of a contract that I, as the owner of [redacted] , was never aware of until today. Oct. *,2013.Desired Settlement: If this is a valid contract between Yellow US Pages and [redacted], then Yellow US Pages and [redacted] should resolve this between those two parties and leave [redacted] out.

Review: In June I was contacted by the Yellow USPages by phone they wanted me to sign up for a free 60 day trial period. I initially turned turned down the offer when I was told that it would automatically roles over to a billed options. I was then told that I would receive a notification at the end of 60 days trial period. At this point I reluctantly agreed to the 60 day trial. unfortunately for me at this time they do not keep a recording of this conversation. They do have a recording of my except the contract with out that stipulation. At one point I hung up on the authentication they called me back and insured me that a 60 day notice would be sent out. Now I am getting a bill for a service I do not want. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was refused.Desired Settlement: to not have to pay a bill that I was tricked into taking.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

My account shows that balance is paid in full because I paid it to keep from being charged extra. IU paid $499.00 to close my account. They did not work with me just threaten me. At this point I am not even sure a listing was ever posted.[Your Answer Here]
