Zillow Group, Inc. Reviews (988)

Zillow has published fraudulent reviews from reviewers that have created fake accounts to post star reviewsWhen you read the reviews, the reviewers state they were trying to view a rental propertyThey are upset because they did not get it
Per Zillow's guideline's below, it states that a reviewer must register and be a buyer or sellerI have not worked with either of the star reviewers on my site nor were they a buyer or sellerThey were a rental prospect wanting to look at a rental listing not a sales listingsAfter bringing this to the Zillow Ratings & Reviews Moderation team over sight, the reviews were still not removedClearly someone does not know the definition or difference between a buyer, seller and rental prospect or rental listing and sales listingI would like the reviews removed as the reviewers have lied, I have not worked with them, and the reviews should not been posted per Zillow guidelines in the first place
Can anyone write a review?

Again, we would like to stress that the Zestimate is not an appraisal and we make every effort to educate our users that the Zestimate is only an estimate It is a starting point and does not consider all the market intricacies that can determine the actual price a house will sell forWe make this clear to all users on our site (http://www.zillow.com/zestimate/) We previously updated the location of the icon for this home on our mapHowever, this is only one factor out of many data points used to produce a ZestimateThe change may not necessarily trigger an immediate change in the Zestimate calculationWe have already reported this feedback to our developers but we do not have an option to manually change an individual Zestimate in the manner this individual is requestingAs a result, there is no new action to take or new information to provide

The Zestimate is an estimate calculated using a computer-generated formulaAlthough Zillow strives to provide accurate home valuations, the Zestimate value is meant only to serve as a starting point in determining a home's valuePeople ultimately have more fundamental reasons that drive what they
choose to buy or not buyIt is not intended to replace a comparative market analysis or an appraisal, as they can take into account market intricacies that the Zestimate cannotZillow makes this clear on each property page (screenshot attached) and our website (http://www.zillow.com/zestimate/).We understand that some homes may be unique in ways that are not well captured by existing data and our current Zestimate modelTo provide more information on a home, we encourage users to include their estimated value by providing an owner's estimate in the Zestimate Details section of the property pageIf the home is actively listed with a real estate agent, the agent can log into their Zillow account and provide an agent note that displays the same informationThis provides the opportunity to explain what you feel your home is worth given its unique features and include the appraised value on the property page. We cannot manually change, edit, or remove individual ZestimatesWhile we monitor customer feedback for systematic issues with the algorithm, we do not change or remove individual Zestimates in response to customer feedbackReports of possible issues with Zestimates are recorded to help with efforts to improve the algorithm as a whole in the future

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because: Anybody can write a review on ZillowThis review was for a house I never soldI have mentioned that to Zillow many times, but they do not seem to care. The review was outright slanderous and a defamation of my character. I have mentioned that I never respond to reviews and especially not ones that are so negative. In our days of retaliation...I find it better not to respond to people who make such accusations.
I have mentioned before that Zillow claims to have technical checks in place yet refused to post a review from a former client of mine. What was written of me an my staff was libelous, slanderous and a defamation of my character. I want the post removed from ***.Sincerely,*** ***

I signed up for Zillow under a month contract as an agent, advertising for a set amount every month My rep was terrible from the beginning; refused to answer emails and would only communicate by phone call, which I explained time and again wasn't feasible for me when I spent 8am-8pm with clients every day The rare moments we talked he would promise me better leads, more return, etc etc, until finally I asked to cancel He asked me to stay for a little longer; at this point I wasn't under contract and could leave any time, he said, so I didn't need to worry about doing it right then After months of paying $1,a month and receiving no workable leads, finally I had had enough; I sent an email Jan to have my service canceled; he failed to respond After numerous phone calls and emails, he informs me that he canceled it in February as per their policies, and that anything else he told me didn't matter because it wasn't in writing I followed their escalation process and r

This individual recently spoke with one of our representatives regarding their Zestimate concernsTo recap, we do not manually change or remove Zestimates from property pages in response to customer feedbackThis is because the Zestimate is derived from a computer-generated algorithmIt is a
calculation produced by a proprietary formula rather than a singular number that can be manually editedSome of the data included in this formula include physical attributes, tax assessments, and prior and current transactionsThe Zestimate is simply an estimate using the data available for a propertyPlease know that we do not intend for the Zestimate to replace a comparative market analysis or an appraisal, as they can take into account market intricacies that the Zestimate cannotThe Zestimate is really meant to be a starting point in determining a home’s valueIt is not an official appraisal. We do monitor customer feedback for systematic issues with the algorithm and as our representative mentioned in previous correspondence, we have reported this individual's concerns in an effort to improve the Zestimate calculations in the futureWe are constantly updating the algorithm models to provide the very best starting value of a home given the data that we have availableTo learn more about the Zestimate, we encourage all of our users to visit this link: http://www.zillow.com/zestimate/

Business Response to Complaint ID ***:We do not provide compensation for any type of issue regarding the price history on Zillow, under any circumstanceZillow is a media company displaying listing and home data on behalf of agents, property managers, and homeownersZillow does not directly
manage listings that appear on our siteThe listing data that appears on Zillow is a reflection of the information sent to our site from a third-party feed. The listing for this home and any pricing information is being sent to Zillow from a syndicated feed from *** *** *** ***Zillow does not have access to *** *** *** ***'s listing feed to make changes to the pricingHowever, your real estate agent should be able to easily make these changes or will need to contact their listing source to make the changes on his or her behalfIf there is an error in the feed sent to us by the listing agency, the error will get transferred onto ZillowIt is important that the listing agency to verify the listing data is submitted correctly.Upon review of the property in question, it appears that Zillow received a sale's price change from the brokerage feed indicating a new listing price of 2,195,We have since removed this erroneous information and it no longer appears on the property pageIt is important to know that buyers who had saved this home were notified of each change in priceSo while buyers were notified of a price changed to $2,195,000, they were also notified when the price was updated by the feed to $1,095,We have removed the erroneous listing price of $2,195,from the property page and the home is currently displayed as For Sale at 1,095,

These potential buyers said because of the price increase, our home was now out of their budgetWe had NOT increased the price, this was an error on Zillow's websiteFortunately this was brought this to our attention by the potential buyers, or we would have never known!! My agent immediately attempted to contact Zillow by email several times but no successTo quickly remedy the situation he had to go on Zillow's site and open an account so he could change the asking price back to the correct amount..It is not only poor business practice for Zillow not to return emails when such things occur, but I feel Zillow owes me a monetary award as this error was on Zillow's site for at least a weekI have no way of knowing how many other potential buyers were discouraged by the million dollar error!! I am rejecting this response because: Our house value zestimate dropped by 30% in one day without any explanation or willingness to address or help resolve the issue.  We were told that Zillow uses an algorithm to determine the zestimate but were not told what changed to cause the clearly and obviously erroneous drop in the zestimate   It is very obvious this is an error or a purposeful act by Zillow.   This drop occurred the day we listed the home for sale by owner.   As Zillow generates its revenue by selling leads to agents it is very suspicious that our home value dropped by 30% at the same time it was listed by owner.    Additionally, we now have a banner on our ad warning prospective buys to avoid scams.  No home listed by an agent has this banner. Clearly these are unfair/fraudulent and unprofessional practices (misrepresentations) which purposefully deter buys  from homes listed for sale by owners. Again, we provided supporting evidence of our homes value in the form of market valuation assessments from agents which we were directed to on the zillow site when trying to address the issue and Zillow still refused to accept the information or address the issue.   We simply ask that the one day 30% drop in our homes value be corrected or explained and that the banner suggesting there may be suspicious be removed.     Sincerely,
[redacted]

I have researched [redacted]'s account and profile and updated her office address so it shows correctly. If she would like to edit her professional information in the future she can log into her Zillow profile and choose the edit tab next to her photo. In regards to receiving leads all contacts...

that [redacted] receives will go to her primary email address on her account [redacted] and she should receive a text message notification to [redacted] if she is not receiving the text message we advise agents to contact their cell phone provider and have them enable short code text messaging. [redacted] can also log onto her Zillow profile and choose the contacts tab to view her contacts. Reviews are a huge part of being successful on Zillow so the sales reps will encourage agents to get reviews. Recently since we merged with Trulia, the reviews that were once on [redacted] had to go through the Zillow Moderation Process and meet Zillows technical checks to show on Zillow Group profiles moving forward. If the reviews didn't make it through the moderation process they didn't make it over. The agent is welcome to email [email protected] to gain access of the reviews that didn't make it through the moderation process if they would like. I have also asked the agents rep to reach out to her and answer any questions she has regarding her advertising on Zillow Group. I see that the agent spoke to her represented recently on 10/1 and on 10/19. The agents contact ends on 11/4/2015 and they are welcome to cancel their advertising if they would like.
