Very good experience for the first yearNice reasonable price but then, the year after they'll jack the price up x3-more than the first yearAll without telling youTheir tech support has some issues with communication barriersMost speak broken English

1&is consistent in terms of deceptive business and customer service practicesI received a bill for a domain (*** that I cancelled back sometime during the 1st quarter of and have a screen shot showing that it is indeed cancelledI was sent an outstanding balance statement (invoice ***) for something that I cancelled! When I called today I was put on hold for nearly minutes? I called back and was given the same rigmarole and was told it was to be escalated to the a special division in billing? I feel like I am getting the run around and need to have this resolved ASAP
Also, I have no more domains with 1&yet they want to charge me with a Dunning Fee (Invoice ***)?
This is a consistent theme with 1andand they need to be investigated for fraudulent and deceptive business practices

I have been dealing with and one for months now they sent me a letter stating I owed them money for multiple websites that I did not openthey stated that I was taken care of then I recieved another letter same thing they said it was taken care ofthen the third letter I got I spoke to their "security department" which tried to verify e mail addresses which were not minethey also tried a phone number which was not mine then he said it would be taken care ofNOW I have a collections letter from NCO finnancial a creditor for which was supposed to be taken care ofI do not owe this money to this company as I never purchased a website from them if I did they would have had my credit card number for payment which they do not have the letters were also addressed to MR which I am not

I have multiple accounts with 1&and some of the websites I did not want to renew I gave them my credit card info for the ones I wanted to renew, and the others they sent to collections I did call about the one I did want and they said they updated the info and everything was fine However they sent that ont to collections I didn't want to pay for the other domains because I did not want them anymore and did not want to renew them Because I didn't renew them they sent it to collections and added a fee So now they are trying to collect on something that I do not want to renewI have multiple domain names but I only wanted to keep one and and hosting but the collection agency said I had to pay the whole bill before moving forward So I have to pay for the ones I don't want in order to use the ones I want Plus they are adding fees to something that expired and I no longer useI paid up front for a year and I should be penalized for not renewing,

I am rejecting this response because and now have a new credit card on this file, clearly indicating my ex-employer has successfully transfered the service from myself to them, however in reading and 1's response am unclear as to who will be charged for this service in the futureAsking for picture ID is an invasion of my privacy and I will not comply

1&charged me during day trialProduct to build website was hard to use and difficult to understandRequested refund through *** and was denied

Well, I ordered the basic hosting package (which came with a free domain name for one year) sometime Friday evening Expecting to have access to my domain shortly after I placed my order I signed into the control panel to install wordpress When I signed in I notice that the domain was not available yet So the next day (Saturday) I called 1andto see what was going on they tell me that the domain has not been activated yet and that I would have to wait until Monday when they will have a team available to activate the domain That was unacceptable So I asked to speak with a supervisor who said they would have the domain activated within hoursWell Monday is here and still no domain available I called back and they told me the exact same thing, no one was available to activated the domain So I again asked for supervisor and they "elevated" the complaint and said it they would have the domain activated within hours So that is now more than hours of my time wasted just trying to order hosting services and get my domain up and running I will never again work with this company as they clearly do not take their business as serious as I take mine Avoid at all cost!

Dear *** *** (Customer ID # ***),
I sincerely apologize for any
inconvenience that has occurred with the cancellation of the domain: ***
Unfortunately, as previously mentioned, the contract in
question had been canceled due to a violation of our terms and conditions,
excessive non-paymentWhenever there is a declined payment, email
notifications are in fact sent out to inform the customer of the situation at
handIn this case, the email address on file where these emails were sent was:
[email protected] regard to your statement that you did not receive
any notice of declined payment, it may be possible that certain email settings
you had intact sent these notifications into your Spam folderHowever, aside
from the emails, you would have noticed an issue with your account far in
advance before any cancellation took place, as days after the declined
payment, which was due back on 7/17/13, your account was lockedIt remained
locked for the next months, until the contract was canceled due to
non-payment on the date of 4/1/Through this cancellation, all of the
data/blogs/web space would have been deleted, and is no longer accessible
Even though we did not receive that payment which was due in
July of 2013, we still automatically renewed this domain for another year until
7/17/2014, while actively attempting to make contact through the email address
listed under this accountMany other registrars, such as ***, cancel
domains shortly after any failed paymentEssentially, the service provided by
1&Internet for this domain over the last year was free of charge at the
time due to the payment not having been made
That being said, even though the contract had been canceled
on 4/1/14, you still had until 7/17/in order to transfer it to another provider
as you had mentioned you would, since we had renewed it in your name until that
dateOur records indicate that you resolved the payment with us on 4/22/
Shortly afterwards (4/24/14), once you were informed that the data/blogs were
no longer available, you said that you would transfer the domainYou made no inquiry
in regard to the transfer/auth code for the domain until 5/15/14, at that time
you were informed that you needed to speak to the Tech Team to gain the
transfer/auth codeAfter that, our Tech Team was not contacted until 7/1/14,
in which it had been notated that you were not able to verify the account
password, but then told them you had already received the transfer/auth codeBetween
4/22/when the payment was resolved, and 7/17/14, when the domain expired,
the transfer could have been simply processed, if only initiated by the other
registrar you wished to bring it to, at your request through themOnce the
domain expired, all actions, timeframe of Redemption, etc., are followed and
governed through the rules and regulations of ICANNIf the Redemption Form had
not been sent in during the proper ICANN regulated timeframe before being set
for release to public sale again, than there is nothing further we can doIt
is unfortunately out of our hands as we do not have the ability to override
their policies
Once more, we apologize for any inconvenience that has been
caused here

Dear *** ***, I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience associated with the notices that you have received For the records of this
complaint, listed below is the email that I had sent you earlier this morningWe currently have our Security/Fraud Team investigating this case and they will be in contact with you shortly to provide more information and assist you furtherAs I had previously mentioned, no outstanding balance sent to our Collections Team would show up on your credit report, and negatively affect your credit scoreRegardless of that, we have waived the referenced balance of $ ……………………………………………………………………... Dear *** ***, Thank you for contacting usThe Caretaker Team has since looked into your account and can confirm the following: I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience associated with this unfortunate situation Regarding this particular matter, what you are explaining here sounds like fraudulent activity against you, in the way that your credit card/personal information had been compromised. I have seen similar situations such as this with our company, along with many others. Through the credit card/personal information being obtained elsewhere by a hacker or whoever/however it may have been, online orders and accounts are then placed with 1&1, ***, *** ***, etc. Here at 1&Internet Inc., we are a web hosting provider, as well as a domain name registrar In order to assist you, we are waiving the balance of $83.88, so that no declined payments are sent to our Collections Team. This will provide us with ample time to investigate the matter further through our Security/Fraud Team. Let the record show, that if any balance had been sent to our Collections Team, it would not physically affect your credit score We have submitted an escalated case to our Security/fraud Team so that they can look into this issue, and contact you for further assistance. They can also be reached by phone at: ###-###-####, or via email to: security-*** Please do not hesitate to contact us if any other questions/concerns remain Once more, we apologize for any inconvenience that has been caused here Thank you David M*** Customer Care 1&Internet Inchttp://www.1and1.com Hours of operation: Mon-Fri from 8AM-4PM EST Working hours: ###-###-#### Off hours: *** Find us on *** at: http://***.com/1andFollow us on *** at: http://***.com/1and*** Support from: http://***.com/1and1help ……………………………………………………………………... you David M*** Customer Care 1&Internet Inchttp://www.1and1.com

I was a victim of credit fraud and identity theft and somehow 1&Internet got a hold of my credit card # and an order was placed for a web domain hostI did not place this order myselfI contacted my credit card company to immediately cancel my account and review all unauthorized charges1&have since sent several letters demanding payment and threatening to turn over my delinquent account to a collections agencyI have attempted to contact them via letter mail, email and phone and have not received a response

I wasn't informed about the charges made on my card and only discovered it when I went to see my account statement I cancelled the services but was still charged for them in addition to more services I didn't even order

My hosting account with 1andwas hacked on May 14th, Some random person (identity thief) was able to obtain my name, address, and the last digits of my credit card and use this to gain FULL ACCESS to my hosting account with 1andHe called them with this information and they have no additional security features or procedures in place to prevent something like this from happeningI did not receive any security alerts at all and 1anddid not do anything to contact me to CONFIRM the changes that the hacker made to my account - the first of which was change the contact email on the account so that I wouldn't get any email notifications about what was going onThe login activities clearly show that someone from Atlanta, GA logged in on May 14thI have NEVER logged into my account from Atlanta, GA so that should have raised a security flagThe account information also says that the contact information was modified to the hackers email address on May 14th- ***@***.comThi

Horrible customer service When you try to cancel it, they give you a horrible runaround Very cheap and unprofessional tactics Do yourself a favor and pick a different company This one is extremely sleezy

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:While I appreciate the refund and the effort Matt made to resolve this complaint, 1andis still claiming to offer 24/technical support, when this is clearly not availablePart of my solution requested was that 1andapologize to customers for not providing the 24/technical support they promise on their website (http://www.1and1.com/ServiceSupport)I had to go through the Revdex.com resolution system (first by contacting their Revdex.com office) to actually get the support I needed. I was put on hold indefinitely or told I could not be helped until business hours when I contacted the 24/technical supportThis is not a one-time problemThey claim to offer 24/support but instead offer a 24/answering service that is not empowered to resolve website hosting issues, and that makes their claim of 24/technical support dishonest, not just to me but to all the customers that attempt to utilize their services
